¹ And after .vi. dayes Iesus toke Peter and Iames and Ihon his brother, and broughte them vp into an hygh mountayne oute of the waye,

³⁷ And he toke with hym Peter and the two sonnes of Zebede, and began to waxe sorowful, and to be in an agonye.

³⁷ And he suffred no man to folow him mo then Peter and Iames and Ihon the brother of Iames.

² And after .vi. dayes Iesus toke Peter, Iames and Iohan, and leade them vp into an hye mountayne oute of the waye alone & he was transfigured before them. ³ And hys rayment did shyne, and was made very whyte, euen as snowe: so whyte as no fuller can make vpon the earth. ⁴ And there apeared vnto them Helyas with Moyses, & they talke with Iesu. ⁵ And Peter aunswered and sayde to Iesu: Master here is a good beyng for vs, let vs make thre tabernacles, one for the, one for Moyses, and an other for Helyas. ⁶ And yet he wyste not what he sayde, for they were afrayde. ⁷ And there was a cloude that shadowed them. And a voyce came out of the cloud saying: This is my deare sonne, heare hym. ⁸ And sodenly, they loked rounde aboute them, and sawe no man more then Iesus only with them. ⁹ And as they came doune from the hyll, he charged theym that they shoulde tell no man what they had sene, tyl the sonne of man were rysen from death agayne. ¹⁰ And they kepte the saying with them, and demaunded one of another, what that rising from death agayn should meane? ¹¹ And they axed him sayinge: Why then saye the Scribes that Helyas must firste come ¹² He aunswered and sayde vnto them: Helias verely shal first come and restore all thinges. And also the sonne of man as it is written, shall suffer many thynges, and shalbe set at nought. ¹³ Moreouer I saye vnto you that Helyas is come, and they haue done vnto hym whatsoeuer pleased theym, as it is written of hym.

⁵¹ And when he came to the house he suffered no man to go in with him, saue Peter, Iames, and Iohn, and the father and mother of the mayden.

²⁸ And it folowed about an .viij. dayes after those saiynge: that he toke Peter, Iames, and Iohn, and went vp into a mountaine to pray. ²⁹ And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenaunce was chaunged, and his garment was white and shone. ³⁰ And beholde, two men talked with him, and they were Moyses & Helias, ³¹ which appeared gloriouslye, and spake of his departinge, which he shoulde ende at Ierusalem, ³² Peter & they that were with him were heauy with slepe. And when they awoke, they sawe his glory, and two men standinge wyth hym. ³³ And it chaunsed as they departed from him, Peter sayd vnto him: Maister, it is good beynge here for vs. Let vs make thre tabernacles, one for the, and one for Moyses, & one for Helyas, & wist not what the sayde. ³⁴ Whyle he thus spake, ther came a cloude & shadowed them, and they feared when they were come vnder the cloude. ³⁵ And ther came a voice out of the cloude saiynge. This is my deare sonne, heare hym. ³⁶ And assone as the voyce was paste Iesus was founde alone. And they kept it close and tolde no man in those dayes anye of those thinges which they had sene.

¹ Nowe come I the thyrde time vnto you. In the mouthe of two or three wytnesses shall euery thing stande.

¹⁸ This voice we hearde when it came from heauen beynge wyth hym in the holy mounte.
