³⁴ Then said Iesus: father forgeue them, for they wote not what they do. And they parted his rayment, and cast lottes.

¹⁷ This wyse say vnto Ioseph, forgeue I pray the the trespace of thy brethren & their synne for they rewarded the euell. Nowe therfore we pray the, forgeue the trespace of the seruauntes of thy fathers God. And Ioseph wepte when they spake vnto him.

¹⁸ They haue parted my garmentes among them, and cast lottes vpon my vesture.

¹⁶ They angred Moyses in the tentes, & Aaron the saynct of the Lord. ¹⁷ So the earth opened & swalowed vp Dathan, & couered the congregatyon of Abyram. ¹⁸ The fyre was kyndled in their companie, the flamme brent vp the vngodly. ¹⁹ They made a calfe in Horeb, and worshipped the molten ymage. ²⁰ Thus they turned their glorye into the similitude of a calfe, that eateth hay. ²¹ They forgat God their Sauiour, whyche had done so greate thynges in Egypte. ²² Wonderous workes in the land of Ham and fearful thynges in the read sea. ²³ So he sayde he wuld haue destroyed them had not Moses hys chosen stand before him in that gappe: to turne awaye his wrathfull indignatyon, lest he should destroy them.

¹² Therfore wyll I geue him the multytude for hys parte, and he shall deuyde the stronge spoyle because he shall geue ouer hys soule to death, & shalbe rekened amonge the transgressours, which neuertheles shall take away the sinnes of the multytude, and make intercessyon for the mysdoers.

⁴⁴ But I say vnto you loue your enemies. Blesse theim that cursse you. Do good to them that hate you. Pray for them which doo you wronge and persecute you,

²⁵ At that time Iesus aunswered and said: I prayse the, O father Lorde of heauen and earth, because thou hast hid these thinges from the wyse and prudent, and hast opened theim vnto babes:

³⁵ When they had crucifyed hym: they parted his garmentes, and did cast lottes, to fulfyll that was spoken by the prophete. They deuided my garmentes amonge them, and vpon my vesture dyd cast lottes. ³⁶ And they sate and watched him there.

²⁴ And when they had crucifyed hym, they parted hys garmentes castynge lotes for them, what euerye man shoulde haue.

²⁷ But I say vnto you which heare: loue your enemyes. Do good to them which hate you. ²⁸ Blesse them that coursse you. And praye for them which wrongfully trouble you.

⁴⁷ The seruaunt that knewe hys maysters wyl, and prepared not hym selfe, neyther dyd accordynge to his will, shalbe beaten with many strypes. ⁴⁸ But he that knewe not, & yet dyd commytte thynges worthye of strypes, shalbe beaten with fewe stripes. For vnto whome muche is geuen, of him shalbe muche requyred. And to whom men muche committe, the more of hym will they axe.

⁴⁷ When the Centurion sawe what had happened, he gloryfyed God saiynge: Of a suretye this man was perfecte. ⁴⁸ And all the people that came together to the syght beholdinge the thinges which were done: smote their brestes, and returned home.

²² Yf I had not come, and spoken vnto them, they should not haue had synne: but now haue they nothynge to cloke theyr synne with all. ²³ He that hateth me, hateth my father. ²⁴ If I had not done workes among them which none other man dyd, they had not had synne. But now haue they sene, & yet haue hated both me & my father:

¹¹ Iesus aunswered: Than couldest haue no power at all agaynst me, except it were geuen the from aboue. Therfore he that delyuered me vnto the, is more in synne.

²³ Then the souldyers, when they had crucyfyed. Iesus toke hys garmentes, and made foure partes, to euery souldyour a parte, and also hys cote. The cote was withoute seame, wroughte vpon thorow out. ²⁴ And they sayde one to another. Let vs not deuyde it, but caste lottes, who shall haue it: That the scripture myght be fulfylled which sayeth. They parted my raymentes among them, and on my cote dyd they caste lottes. And the souldiours dyd such thynges in dede.

¹⁷ And nowe brethren I wote well that through ignoraunce ye dyd it, as did also your heades.

⁶⁰ And he kneled doune and cryed with a loude voice: Lord laye not thys sinne to their charge. And when he had thus spoken: he fel a slepe.

¹⁴ Blesse them whiche persecute you: blesse, but cursse not.

⁸ whiche wisdome none of the rulars of this worlde knewe. For had they knowen it, they would not haue crucified the Lorde of Glorye.

¹² and labour workinge wyth oure handes. We are reuiled, & yet we blesse. We are persecuted and suffer it.

¹³ when before I was a blasphemer and persecuter, and a tyraunte. But I obtayned mercye, because I dyd it ignorauntly thorowe vnbelefe.

²⁰ For what prayse is it, yf when ye be buffeted for your faultes, ye take it pacientlye? But and yf when ye do well, ye suffre wrong and take it pacyently, then is there thanke wt God. ²¹ for here vnto verelye were ye called: for Christe also suffered for vs, leauynge vs an ensample that we shoulde folowe his steppes, ²² whiche dyd no synne, neyther was there gyle founde in hys mouth: ²³ which when he was reuyled, reuyled not agayne: when he suffered, he threatened not: but commytted the cause to him that iudgeth ryghtuously,

⁹ not rendringe euyll for euyll, neyther rebuke for rebuke, but contrarywyse, blesse, remembryng that ye are thervnto called, euen that ye shoulde be heyres of blessinge.
