²³ But wo be to them that be with chylde, and to them that geue sucke in those dayes: for ther shalbe great trouble in the lande, and wrath ouer all this people.

⁵⁶ Yea, and the woman that is so tender & delycate among you that she dare not aduenture to sett the sole of her foote vpon the grounde for softnesse and tendernesse, shalbe greued to loke on the husbande that lyeth in her bosome and on her sonne & on her daughter: ⁵⁷ euen because of the after byrthe, that is come out from betwene her legges, & because of her chyldren which she hath borne, because she wolde eate them for nede of all thynges secretly, in the straytenes & seyge wherwyth thyne enemye shal besyege the in thy cyties.

¹⁰ Iod. The wemen (which of nature are pitieful) haue sodden their owne children with their handes that they might be their meate, in the miserable destruccion of the daughter of my people.

⁴¹ They sayed vnto hym: he wyll cruellye destroye those euyll persons, and wyll let out hys vyneyarde vnto other husbandmen, which shall delyuer hym the frute at tymes conuenient.

⁴⁴ And whosoeuer shall fall ou thys stone, he shalbe broken, but on whosoeuer it shall fall vpon, it wyll grynde hym to powder.

¹⁹ Wo in those daies to theim that are with childe, and to them that geue sucke.

¹⁷ Woo is then to them that are with chyld, and to them that geue soucke in those dayes.

²⁷ Moreouer those myne enemyes which woulde not that I should raigne ouer them, brynge hyther, and slea them before me.

⁴³ For the dayes shall come vpon the, that thyne enemyes shal cast a banke aboute the, & compasse the round and kepe the on euerye syde,

²⁹ For beholde the dayes wyll come, when men shall saye: Happye are the baren and the wombes that neuer bare, and the pappes that neuer gaue sucke.

¹⁶ and forbid vs to preache vnto the Gentyls, that they might be saued to fulfyll theyr synnes alwaye. For the wrathe of God is come on them, euen to the vtmost.

¹² neyther by the bloude of gotes and calues, but by hys owne bloude he entred once for al into the holye place, and founde eternal redempcyon. ¹³ For yf the bloude of oxen and of gotes and the ashes of an heyfer, when it was sprinkled, puryfyed the vncleane, as touchyng the puryfiynge of the fleshe: ¹⁴ Howe muche more shall the bloude of Christe (which thorow the eternall spyryte offred hym selfe without spot to God) pourge youre conscyences from dead workes, for to serue the lyuyng God? ¹⁵ And for thys cause is: he the medyatour of the new testament, that thorowe death whiche chaunsed for the redempcyon of those transgressyons that were in the fyrst testament, they whiche were called myght receyue the promes of eternall inherytaunce. ¹⁶ For wheresoeuer is a testamente, there muste also be the death of hym that maketh the testament. ¹⁷ For the testament taketh authoritie when men are dead. For it is of no value as longe as he that made it, is alyue.

²⁶ For yf we synne wyllyngly after that we haue receyued the knowledge of the trueth, ther remayneth no more sacryfyce for synnes, ²⁷ but a fearful lokynge for iudgement, and vyolente fyre, whyche shal deuoure the aduersaryes. ²⁸ He that despyseth Moyses lawe, dyeth wythout mercye vnder two or thre wytnesses ²⁹ Of howe muche sorer punyshement suppose ye shal he be counted worthy, whych treadeth vnder fote the sonne of God: and counted the bloud of the testament as an vnholy thynge wherwyth he was sanctyfyed, and doth dishonour to the spyryte of grace. ³⁰ For we knowe hym that hath sayde: vengeaunce belongeth vnto me. I wyll recompence sayth the lorde. And agayne: the lord shall iudge hys people. ³¹ It is a fearfull thynge to falle into the handes of the lyuynge God.

¹⁶ To do good, and to distrybute, forget not, for wt suche sacryfyces God is pleased.

¹ Go to nowe ye ryche men. Weepe, and howle on your wretchednes that shal come vpon you.

¹⁷ For the time is come that iudgemente must beginne at the house of God. Yf it fyrst begynne at vs, what shal the ende be of them, whiche beleue not the Gospel of God?
