²⁰ But when ye haue forsaken the Lorde and haue serued straunge Goddes, he wyll turne and do you euyll, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

¹² But and yf ye shall go backe and cleaue vnto the reste of these nacyons that remayne wyth you, and shall make maryages wyth them, and shall go to them, and they come to you: ¹³ be sure that the Lorde youre God wyll not caste out al the nacyons from before you. But they shalbe snares and trappes vnto you, and scourges for youre sydes, & prickes in youre eyes, vntyll ye peryshe from of thys good lande whiche the Lorde your God hath geuen you. ¹⁴ Beholde I walke thys daye, by the waye of all the worlde: call ye to mynde in all your hertes and in all your soules, that nothynge hath fayled of all the good thynges whiche the Lord your God promysed you. All are come to passe, and nothyng hath fayled therof. ¹⁵ And as all good thynges are come vpon you, which the Lorde youre God promysed you: so shall the Lorde brynge vpon you all euyll vntyl he haue destroyed you from of thys good lande which the Lorde your God hath geuen you

⁹ And thou Salomon my sonne: knowe God thy father, and serue hym with a pure hert, and lust of soule. For the Lorde searcheth all hertes, and vnderstandeth all the Imaginacyons of thoughtes. If thou shalte seke hym, he wylbe founde of the: But & yf thou forsake hym, he wyll caste the of for euer.

² And he went oute agaynste Asa, and sayd to hym: heare me Asa and al Iuda and Beniamin. The Lorde is wyth you, while ye be wyth hym, and yf ye shall seke hym, he wylbe founde of you: but and yf ye shal forsake him, he wil forsake you.

²² For I was ashamed to requyre of the kynge, soudyers and horsemen, to helpe vs agaynst the enemy in the way. For we had saide vnto the kynge. The hande of oure God is vpon all them that seke him in goodnes, and his vyolence and wrath vpon all them that forsake him.

²⁸ For the transgressours and vngodlye, and suche as are become vnfaythfull vnto the Lorde, muste altogether be vtterlye destroyed.

¹⁰ But after they prouoked hym to wrath, and vexed hys holy mynd, he was their enemye, and fought against them him selfe.

¹¹ But as for you, ye are they, that haue forsaken the Lorde, and forgotten my holy hil. Ye haue set vs an aulter vnto fortune, and geuen ryche drincke offerynges vnto treasure. ¹² Therfore will I nombre you with the swerde, that ye shalbe destroyed altogether. For when I called, noman gaue me answere: when I spake, ye herkened not vnto me, but dyd wyckednes before myne eyes, & chose the thing that pleased me not.

¹³ Thou art the comforte of Israell. All they that forsake the, shal be confounded: all they that departe from the, shalbe wrytten in earth, for they haue forsaken the Lorde the very condyte of the waters of lyfe.

²⁴ Agayne, yf the righteous turne awaye from his righteousnes, and do iniquytie, according to all the abhomynacyons, that the wycked man doth: shal he lyue? Al the ryghteousnes that he hath done, shal not be thought vpon: but in the faute that he hath offended withall and in the synne that he hath done, he shall dye.

⁴² Then God turned him selfe, and gaue them vp that they shoulde worship the starres of the skye, as it is written in the boke of the Prophetes. O ye of the house of Israell, gaue ye to me sacrifyces and meate offeringes by the space of .xl. yeare in the wildernes?

²⁶ For yf we synne wyllyngly after that we haue receyued the knowledge of the trueth, ther remayneth no more sacryfyce for synnes, ²⁷ but a fearful lokynge for iudgement, and vyolente fyre, whyche shal deuoure the aduersaryes.

³⁸ But the iuste shall lyue by fayth. And yf he wythdrawe hym selfe my soule shal haue no pleasure in him.
