¹⁹ O that they (for the wickednesse whiche they haue done) were drawen to the hel, soner then snow melteth at the heate.

¹⁵ Myne owne brethren passeouer by me as the water broke, that hastelye runneth thorow the valleyes. ¹⁶ But they that feare the hore frost, the snowe shall fall vpon them. ¹⁷ When theyr time commeth, they shalbe destroyed and perishe: and when they be set on fyre, they shalbe remoued oute of theyr place,

¹³ They spent their dayes in welthinesse: but sodenlye they go doune to hel.

²³ One dyeth now, when he is myghtye & at his best, riche, & in prosperite:

³² Yet shall he be brought to his graue, and watche amonge the heape of the deade. ³³ Then shall he be faine to be buryed amonge the stones by the broke syde. All men must folow him, and there are innumerable gone before him. ³⁴ O how vayne is the comforte that ye geue me? Are not youre answeres cleane contrary to right and truthe.

¹⁴ They lye in the hell like shepe, death shall gnawe vpon theim, and the righteous shall haue dominacion of theim in the mornynge by tymes: their strength shall consume, and hell shalbe their dwellynge.

⁸ Let them consume away lyke a snaile, and lyke the vntymely frute of a woman, and let them not se the sunne. ⁹ Or euer your thorns be sharpe, the wrath shall take them awaye quicke, like a stormy wynde.

² Lyke as the smoke vanysheth, so shalt thou dryue them away: and lyke as waxe melteth at the fyre so shal the vngodly perysh at the presence of God.

³² The vngodlye is afrayed of euery parel, but the ryghtuous hath a good hope euen in death.

⁴ And why? As longe as a man lyueth, he is careles: for a quicke dogg (saye they) is better then a dead lyon: ⁵ for they that be lyuyng, knowe that they shall dye: but they that be dead, knowe nothinge, neyther deserne they any more. For their memoriall is forgotten, ⁶ so that they be nether loued, hated ner enuied nether haue they animore parte in the world, in al that is done vnder the Sonne.

²⁰ But God sayed vnto hym: Thou fole, thys nyghte wyll they fetche awaye thy soule agayne from the. Then whose shall these thinges be which thou haste prouyded?

²² And it fortuned that the begger dyed, and was caryed by the Angels into Abrahams bosome. The ryche man also dyed and was buryed.
