¹⁴ If he breake downe a thinge, who can set it vp agayne? If he shut a thing, who wyll open it?

⁴⁶ This day shal the Lorde delyuer the into my hande, and I shall smyte the and take thyne head from the, and I will geue the karcases of the hoste of the Philistines this day vnto the foules of the ayre and to the beastes of the earth, and al the worlde shal knowe, that there is a God in Israel.

¹⁸ And thou haste shewed thys daye howe that thou hast dealt louyngly with me, for as muche as when the Lorde hath locked me in thyne handes, thou sluest me not.

⁸ Then sayde Abisai to Dauid: God hath closed in thine enemy vnto thyne handes this day. Now therfore let me smyte him a felowshippe with my speare to the earth, euen one stroke, and I wil not smyte hym the second tyme.

¹² If he be hasty to take enye thynge awaye, who will make hym restore it agayne? Who wyll saye vnto hym: what doest thou? ¹³ He is God, whose wrath no man maye withstande: but the proudest of all muste stoupe vnder hym.

¹⁰ Though he turne all thynges vp syde downe, close them in, or thrust them to gether who darre check hym therfore?

¹¹ God hath geuen me ouer to the vngodly, & deliuered me into the handes of the wycked.

¹⁰ He hath destroyed my on euery syde, & I am vndone: My hope hath he taken awaye from me, as it were a tre plucte vp by the rote.

⁷ He sendeth feare vpon euery man that they myght knowe theyr owne worckes.

²³ and wyll geue it to the Oiters, and wyl make water podles of it. And I wyll swepe them oute with the besome of destruccyon, sayeth the Lorde of Hostes.

²² I will also laye the keye of Dauids house vpon his shoulders, & yf he open, noman shall shut: and yf he do shut, noman shal open.

² Thou makest of townes, heapes of stone, and of head cities, broken walles: The palaces of the wicked destroyest thou out of the citie that they shal neuer be buylded again.

⁵⁸ Moreouer, thus sayeth the Lorde of Hostes: The thycke wall of Babylon shalbe broken, & her proude gates shalbe brent vp. And the thynge that the Gentyles and the people haue wrought with greate trauayle and laboure, shal come to naught and be consumed in the fyre.

⁶⁴ and saye: Euen thus shall Babylon syncke, & be thrust downe with the burthen of trouble, that I will bringe vpon her: so that she shall neuer come vp agayne. Thus farre are the preachinges of Ieremy.

⁴ & though Edom sayd: wel, we are destroyed, we wyll go buylde vp agayne the places that be wasted: yet (sayeth the Lord of hostes) what they buylded, that brake I domie, so that is was called a cursed lande, and a people, whom the Lorde hath euer bene angrye withall.

⁷ And wryte vnto the tydinges bringer of the congregacyon of Philadelphia, this sayeth he that is holy and true, which hath the keye of Dauid, which openeth and no man shutteth, and shutteth & no man openeth.
