Thus sayeth the Lorde of Hostes the God of Israel: Yf ye be wholy purposed to go into Egipte, and to be there as straungers, 16 the swerde that ye feare, shall ouertake you in Egipte: and the honger wherof ye be here afrayed shall hange vpon you into Egipte, and there ye shall dye. 17 For al they, that of set purpose vndertake to go into Egipte, there to ease them selues of their mysery, shal peryshe with the swerde, wyth honger and pestilence, not one of them shall remayne, there shall none escape the plage, that I will brynge vpon them. 18 For thus sayeth the Lorde of Hostes the God of Israel: lyke as my wrath and indignacion is come vpon the enhabytoures of Ierusalem, so shall my displeasure go forth vpon you also, yf ye go into Egipte: For there ye shalbe reuyled, abhorred, brought to shame and confusyon: and as for this place, ye shall neuer she it more.

Jeremiah 43:5-8

5 But Iohanan the sonne of Kareah, and all the captaynes of the Hoste, caryed awaye al the remnaunte in Iuda, that were come together agayne from the Heathen (amonge whome they had bene scatred) to dwell in the land of Iuda. 6 Men, wemen, chyldren, the kynges doughters, all those that Nabuzaradan the chefe captayne had left with Godoliah the sonne of Ahikam. They caryed awaye also the prophet Ieremy, Baruch the sonne of Neriah, 7 & so came into Egipte: for they were not obeyent vnto the commaundement of God. Thus came they to Thaphnis. 8 And in Thaphnis the word of the Lorde happened vnto Ieremy, sayinge:

14 Preache out thorowe the lande of Egipt, and cause it be proclamed at Magdol, Memphys and Taphnis, and saie: Stande still, make the redye, for the swearde shall consume the rounde aboute.

Jeremiah 46:19

19 O thou doughter of Egipte make ready thy geer to flyt. For Memphis shalbe voyde and desolate, so that no man shal dwel therin.

Ezekiel 29:10

18 At Taphnis the daye shalbe darcke, when I breake there the scepter of the lande of Egypte, and when the pompe of her power shall haue an ende. A cloud shal couer her, & her doughters shalbe led awaye into captyuyte.
