³ For thus sayeth the Lord: this cytie (no doute) must be deliuered into the power of the kinge of Babilon, and he also shal winne it.

¹⁰ For I haue sett my face agaynst this cytie (sayeth the Lord) to plage it, and to do it no good. It muste be geuen in to the hande of the kynge of Babylon, and be brent with fyre.

³ where Zedekiah the king of Iuda caused hym to be layed, because he had prophecyed of this maner: Thus sayeth the Lorde: Beholde, I wil delyuer this cytye into the handes of the Kyng of Babilon, which shall take it. ⁴ As for Zedekiah the Kynge of Iuda, he shall not be able to escape the Chaldees, but surely he shal come into the handes of the kynge of Babylon: whiche shal speake with him mouth to mouth, and one of them shal loke another in the face. ⁵ And Zedekiah shalbe caryed vnto Babylon, and there shall he be, vnto the tyme that I vyset him, sayeth the Lorde. But yf thou takest in hand to fight against the Caldees, thou shalt not prospere.
