⁷ And sayd: I wyl destroy mankynde whych I haue made, from of the face of the erth: both man, beast, worme and foule of the ayre, for it repenteth me that I haue made them.

¹ A Psalme of Dauid. The earth is the Lordes, & all that therin is: the compase of the world, & al that dwell therein. ² For he hath founded it vpon the seas, and buylded it vpon the floudes.

²⁰ As for the vngodly, they shall perysh: and when the enemyes of the Lorde are in theyr floures, they shall consume, yea, euen as the smoke shall they consume awaye.

²⁷ The feare of the Lorde maketh a long lyfe but the yeares of the vngodly shalbe shortened.

⁴ The Lorde doth al thynges for hys owne sake, yea when he kepeth the vngodly for the day of wrath.

²² Neuertheles this shal come vpon them, because my people is become folysh, and hath vtterly no vnderstandynge. They are the children of folishnes, and without any dyscrecion. To do euill, they haue wyt ynoughe: but to do wel, they haue no wisdome. ²³ I haue loked vpon the earth, and se it is waste, and voyde. I loked toward heauen, and it had no shyne. ²⁴ I behelde the mountaynes, and they trembled, and al the hilles were in a feare. ²⁵ I loked aboute me, and there was no bodye, and all the birdes of the ayre were awaye. ²⁶ I marked wel, and the plowed felde was become wast: yea all their cytyes were broken doune, at the presence of the Lorde, and indignacyon of his wrath. ²⁷ For thus hath the Lorde sayde: The whole lande shalbe desolate, yet will I not then haue done.

³ But thou Lorde (to whom I am well knowne) thou that hast sene, and proued my herte, take them awaye, lyke as a flocke is caryed to the slaughter house, & apoynte them for the daye of slaughter. ⁴ Howlonge shall the lande mourne, and al the herbes of the felde perysh, for the wyckednes of them that dwell therin? The catell and the byrdes are gone, yet saye they: tush, God wyll not destroye vs vtterly.

³ Therfore shall the land be in a miserable case, & al they that dwel therin, shall mourne: the beastes in the felde, the foules in the ayr, & the fishes in the sea shal dye.

³ I wyl gather vp man and beast: I wil gather vp the foules in the ayre and the fyshe in the sea (to the greate decaye of the wycked) and wyll vtterlye destroye the men out of the lande, sayeth the Lorde.

²⁰ because that by the dedes of the lawe, shall no fleshe be iustifyed in the syght of God. For by the lawe commeth the knoweledge of synne. ²¹ Nowe verelye is the ryghteousnes that commeth of God, declared withoute the fulfyllynge of lawe, hauynge wytnes yet of the lawe and of the Prophetes. ²² The ryghteousnes no doubte whiche is good before God commeth by the fayth of Christe, vnto all and vpon all that beleue. There is no difference:
