²⁰ Idolatrye wytchecrafte, hatred, varyaunce, zele, wrathe stryfe, sedityon, sectes,

¹⁰ Let ther not be founde among you that maketh hys sonne or daughter to go thorow the fyre, or that vseth withcrafte, or a choser out of dayes or that regardeth the flieng of foules,

²³ For rebellyousnesse is as the synne of witchcrafte, & stoburnesse is wyckednesse and Idolatrye. Because therfore thou hast cast awaye the worde of the Lorde, therfore hath the Lorde caste awaye the also, from beynge Kynge.

¹³ And so Saul dyed for hys trespace that he trespaced agaynst the Lorde, in that he kept not the worde of the Lorde, and in that he asked councell of a woman that wrought with a sprite, ¹⁴ and asked not of the Lorde. And therfore the Lorde killed hym & turned the kyngdome vnto Dauid the sonne of Iesai.

⁶ And he burnt his chyldren in fyre in the valey of the sonnes of Hennon. And he obserued dysmalle dayes & occupyed wytch crafte and sorsery, and mayntened workers with spirites & fears of fortunes: & wrought moche euell in the syght of the Lorde, to angre hym wyth all.

¹⁸ Thou sonne of man, the house of Israel is turned to drosse. Al they that shoulde be brasse, tynne, yron and leade, are in the fire become drosse.

⁹ And ther was a certaine man called Simon, which before tyme in the same citye, vsed wytchcraft and bewitched the people of Samarye, sayinge that he was a man that coulde do greate thinges. ¹⁰ Whom they regarded, from the lest to the greatest, saiyng: this felow is the great power of God. ¹¹ And hym they set much by: because that of long tyme he had mocked them with sorcery.

¹⁶ And it fortuned as we went to prayer, a certayne damsell possessed with a spirite that prophesyeth, met vs, which brought her mayster and maysters muche vauntage with prophesiynge. ¹⁷ The same folowed Paul and vs, & cryed, saiynge: These men are the seruauntes of the moste hye God, which shew vnto vs that waye of saluacyon. ¹⁸ And thys dyd she manye dayes. But Paule not content turned aboute, and sayed to the spirite: I commaunde the in the name of Iesu Christe, that thou come oute of her. And he came out the same houre. ¹⁹ And when her maister and maysters saw, that the hope of theyr gaynes was gone, they caughte Paule and Sylas, and drue them into the market place vnto the rulars,

¹⁹ For there muste be sectes amonge you, that they whyche are perfecte amonge you, myghte be knowen.

¹⁹ For ye suffer foles gladly, because that ye youre selues are wyse.

¹⁰ A man that is geuen to heresye, after the fyrst & the seconde admonicyon auoyde,

¹ There were false prophetes among the people, euen as there shalbe false teachers amonge you, which priuilie shal bringe in damnable sectes, euen denyenge the Lorde that hath bought them and bringe vpon them selues swyft dampnacion,

⁸ But the fearful and vnbeleuing, & the abhominable, & murtherers, & whoremongers, & sorcerers, & ydolaters, & al lyars shall haue their parte in the lake which burneth wt fyre & brymstone, which is the seconde death.
