² Beholde I Paule saye vnto you, that yf ye be circumcysed Christe shall profyte you nothynge at all.

¹ Then came certayne from Iewrye, and taughte the brethren: excepte ye be circumcised after the maner of Moyses, ye can not be saued.

²⁴ For as muche as we haue hearde that certayne whiche departe from vs, haue troubled you with wordes, and combred your myndes, saiynge: Ye must be circumcysed, and kepe the lawe, to whom we gaue no suche commaundement.

³ The same Paule woulde that he shoulde go forthe with hym, and toke and circumcysed him, because of the Iewes whiche were in those quarters: for they knewe all, that hys father was a Greke. ⁴ As they went through the cities, they delyuered them the decrees for to kepe, ordeyned of the Apostles and elders, whiche were at Ierusalem.

³¹ But Israell whiche folowed the lawe of rightuousnes, coulde not attayne vnto the lawe of ryghtuousnes. ³² And wherfore? Because they sought it not by fayth: but as it were by the workes of the lawe. For they haue stombled at the stomblynge stone.

² For I beare them recorde that they haue a feruent mynde to Godwarde, but not accordynge to knoweledge. ³ For they are ignoraunte of the ryghteousnes whiche is alowed before God, and go aboute to stablish theyr owne ryghtuousnes, and therfore are not obediente vnto the ryghtuousnes whiche is of valoure before God.

²¹ The salutation of me Paule with myne owne hande.

¹ I Paule my selfe beseche you by the mekenesse and softenes of Christe, whiche when I am present amonge you, am of no reputacion, but am bolde toward you beynge absent,

³ Also Tytus which was wt me, though he were a Greke, yet was not compelled to be circumcysed, ⁴ and that because of incommers beynge false brethren which came in amonge other to spye out our lybertye which we haue in Christe Iesus, that they myghte brynge vs into bondage. ⁵ To whom we gaue no roume, no not for the space of an houre, as concernynge to be brought into subieccion, & that because that the truth of the Gospel might contynue with you.

³ I testifye agayne to euery man whiche is circumcysed that he is bounde to kepe the whole lawe. ⁴ Ye are gone quyte from Christe as manye as are iustifyed by the law, and are fallen from grace.

⁶ For in Iesu Christ nether is circumcysion any thing worth, neyther yet vncircumcysyon, but fayth which by loue is myghtye in operacyon.

¹¹ Brethren, yf I yet preache circumcysyon: why do I yet suffer persecutyon? For then had the offence whiche the crosse geueth, ceased.

¹⁸ And therfore we woulde haue come vnto you I Paule ones and agayne: but Sathan withstode vs.

⁹ yet for loues sake I rather beseche the, thoughe I be as I am euen Paule aged, and now in bondes for Iesu Christes sake.

² For vnto vs was it declared, as well as vnto them. But it profiteth not them that they hearde the worde, because they which hearde it, coupled it not wyth fayth.
