He is the God that is at Ierusalem. ⁴ And whosoeuer remayneth yet in any maner of a place (where he is a straunger) let the men of hys place helpe him with syluer & golde, wt good & cattel, beside that which they willingly offer, for the house of God at Ierusalem. ⁵ Then gat vp the principal fathers of Iuda and Ben Iamin, & the priestes and Leuites, and all they whose sprete God had raysed to go vp, and to buylde the house of the Lord at Ierusalem. ⁶ And al they that were aboute them, strengthed their hand with vessels of syluer and golde, with good & catel, and Iewels, besyde that whiche they gaue of their owne frewyll. ⁷ And Kynge Cyrus broughte forth of the vessels of the house of the Lorde, whiche Nabuchodonozor had taken oute of Ierusalem, and put in the house of his God. ⁸ But Cyrus the kynge of Persia brought them forth by Mithridates the treasurer, & numbred them vnto Selbazar the prynce of Iuda. ⁹ And this is the numbre of them: thyrtye basens of gold, and a thousand basens of siluer, and nine and twenty knyues, ¹⁰ thyrty cuppes of gold, and of other syluer cuppes foure hundred and ten, and of other vessels a thousande. ¹¹ So that all the vessels both of golde and syluer, were fyue thousand & foure hundred. Sesbazar brought them all vp, with them that came vp out of the captiuite of Babilon vnto Ierusalem.

³¹ For oure rocke is not as theyr rocke, no thoughe oure enemies be iudge.

⁹ Beholde, I haue sayde vnto the, be strong and bolde: neyther feare, nor dreade. For the Lorde thy God is with the whether soeuer thou goest.

⁵⁰ lampes, and snoffers of goulde: and Bolles, Psalteries, basons, spones and fyre pannes of pure goulde: and hynges of gould bothe for the dores of the quere, the place most holye, and for the dores of the temple also.

²⁷ But in deade can God dwell on the earthe? Beholde neyther heauen, nor heauen aboue all heauens are able to contayne the: howe muche lesse then thys house that I haue built?

¹³ And he caryed oute thence all the treasure of the house of the Lorde, and the treasure of the kynges house, and brake all the vesselles of goulde, whyche Salomon kynge of Israel had made, in the temple of the Lorde, as the Lorde had sayde.

The brasse of al these vesselles was without weyght.

²⁰ And Dauid sayde to Salomon hys sonne: harden thy self, and be strong, and do it, feare not, nor let thyne herte dyscourage the. For the Lorde God my God is wyth the, & shall not leaue the nor forsake the, vntyll thou haste fynyshed all the worcke that must serue for the house of the Lorde.

³ And yet because I haue luste to the house of my God: I haue seuerall goulde and syluer which I geue to the house of my God aboue all I haue prepared for the holye house:

⁹ And the people reioysed that they were so wyllynge: for wyth a pure herte they were wyllynge vnto the Lorde. And therto Dauid the kynge reioysed with great gladnesse.

¹⁷ I wote my God, that thou prouest the herte, and hast pleasure in playnesse. And in playnesse of myne herte I haue wyllynglye geuen all thys. And now I se thy people whiche are here in gladnesse, to offer wyllyngly to the.

¹² And Hiram sayde moreouer: blessed be the Lord God of Israel which hath made bothe heauen and earth, that he hath geuen Dauid the kynge a wyse sonne that hath discrecyon and vnderstandynge, to buylde an house for the Lorde, and auother for his kingdome.

⁸ And he made also ten tables, and put them in the temple: fyue on the ryght syde and fyue on the lefte. And he made an hundred basens of goulde.

¹¹ And Hyram made pottes, shouelles and basens. And Hyram fynyshed the worcke, he made for kynge Salomon vnto the temple of God,

And they offered burntofferynges in the house of the Lorde contynuallye all the dayes of Iehoiada.

⁷ Therto the kynge Nabuchodonozor caried the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babilon and put them in hys temple at Babilon.

²² and helde the feast of vnleuended bread seuen dayes with ioye: for the Lord had made them glad, and turned the herte of the king of Assur vnto them, so that the handes were strengthed in the worcke of the house of God, whiche is the God of Israel.

¹⁵ And that thou shouldest take with the, syluer and goulde, whiche the king & the Lordes of hys counsel geue of their owne good will vnto the God of Israel (whose habytacyon is at Ierusalem) ¹⁶ and all the syluer and goulde that thou canst fynd in al the countre of Babilon, with it that the people and pryestes geue of their owne good wil vnto the house of God at Ierusalem.

⁴⁶ Yea he made all those that had led them awaye captyue, to pitiye them.

³ In the daye of thy power shal thy people offer the frewyll offerynges wyth an holye worshyppe, the dewe of thy byrthe is of the wombe of the mornynge.

¹ A man may wel purpose a thinge in his herte, but the answere of the tong commeth of the Lord,

¹ The kinges hert is in the hand of the Lord, lyke as are the ryuers of water: he maye turne it whether so euer he wyll.

⁹ Therfore two are better then one, for they may well enioy the profyt of their labour. ¹⁰ If one of them fall, hys companion helpeth hym vp agayn: But wo is hym that is alone, for if he fall, he hathe not another to helpe hym vp.

Yf he be wroth, the earthe shaketh: all the Gentiles maye not abyde his indygnacyon. ¹¹ As for theyr Goddes, it maye well be sayde of them: they are Goddes, that made neyther heauen nor earthe: therfore shall they peryshe from the earthe, & from al thynges vnder heauen

⁶ And nowe wyl I delyuer all these landes into the power of Nabuchodonosor the Kynge of Babylon, my seruaunt. The beastes also of the felde shall I geue hym to do hym seruyce. ⁷ And all people shall serue hym, and hys sonne, and hys chyldes chyldren, vntyll the tyme of the same lande become also: yea many people & greate Kynges shall serue hym.

²¹ Yea thus hath the Lorde of hoostes the God of Israell spoken, as touchynge the resydue of the ornamentes of the Lordes house of the kynge of Iudaes house, and of Ierusalem: ²² They shalbe caryed vnto Babylon, & there they shall remayne, vntyll I vpset them sayeth the Lorde. Then wyll I brynge them hyther agayne.

³ and after two yeare wyll I bryng againe into thys place, all the ornamentes of the Lordes house, that Nabuchodonosor kynge of Babylon caryed awaye from thys place vnto Babylon. ⁴ Yea, I wyll brynge agayne Iechoniah the sonne of Iehoakim the kynge of Iuda hym selfe, with all the prysonners of Iuda (that are caryed vnto Babylon) euen into this place sayeth the Lorde, for I wyll breake the yoeke of the kynge of Babylon. ⁵ Then the Prophet Ieremye gaue aunswere vnto the Prophete Hananiah, before the prestes and before all the people that were presente in the house of the Lorde. ⁶ And the Prophet Ieremye sayd: Amen: the Lord do that, & graunt the thynge, whiche thou hast prophecyed: that he maye brynge agayne all the ornamentes of the Lordes house, and restore all the presonners from Babylon into the place.

¹⁰ But thus sayeth the Lorde: When ye haue fulfylled .lxx. yeares at Babylon, I wil bring you home, & of myne owne goodnes I wyll carye you hyther agayne vnto this place.

⁷ And I will returne the captyuyte of Iuda and Israell, and I will set them vp agayne, as they were afo ⁸ From all misdedes (wherein they haue offended against me) I will clense them. And al their blasphemes whiche they haue done agaynst me, when they regarded me not, I will forgeue them. ⁹ And this shall get me a name, a prayse and honoure, amonge all people of the earthe, whiche shall heare al the good, that I will shewe vnto them: yea they shalbe afrayed and astounded at all the good deedes and benefytes, that I will do for them. ¹⁰ Moreouer thus sayeth the Lorde: In this place, wherof ye saye that it shalbe a wyldernesse, wherein neyther people nor catell shall dwel: in lyke maner in the cities of Iuda and wythoute Ierusalem (whyche also shalbe voyde, that neyther people nor catell shal dwel there) ¹¹ Shall the voice of gladnesse be hearde agayne, the voyce of the Brydegrome and of the bryde, the voyce of them that shall synge: Prayse the Lorde of Hostes, for he is louinge and his mercy endureth for euer, and the voyce of them that shall offer vp gyftes in the house of the Lorde. For I will restore the captiuite of this lande, as it was afore, saieth the Lord. ¹² Thus sayeth the Lorde of Hostes: It shall come yet therto, that in this lande, whiche is voyde from men and catel, and in al the cities of the land, there shalbe set vp sheperdes cotages: ¹³ in the cytyes vpon the mountaynes, and in the cyties that lay vpon the plaine, and in the deserte. In the lande of Ben Iamin, in the feldes of Ierusalem, and in the cities of Iuda, shall the shepe be nombred agayn, vnder the hand of him, that telleth them, sayeth the Lorde.

² and the Lord deliuered Iehoakim the kinge of Iuda into his hande, with certayne ornamentes of the house of God, whiche he caryed awaye vnto the lande of Sennar, to the house of his God, and there he broughte them into hys Goddes treasurye.

¹ In the seconde yeare of the raigne of Nabuchodonosor, had Nabuchodonosor a dreame, wherethorow his sprete was vexed, & hys slepe brake from him.

²¹ he chaunged the tymes & ages: he putteth doune kynges, he setteth vp kinges he geueth wysdome vnto the wyse, & vnderstandynge to those that vnderstande,

²⁸ Onely God in heauen can open secretes, and he it is, that sheweth the kynge Nabuchodonosor, what is for to come in the latter dayes. Thy dreame, & that whiche thou hast sene in thyne heade vpon thy bed, is thys:

³⁷ O kynge, thou arte a kynge of kynges: For the God of heauen hath geuen the a kyngdome, ryches, strengthe and maiestye: ³⁸ & hathe delyuered the all thynges, that are amonge the children of men: the beastes of the feld, and the foules vnder the heauen, and geuen the dominyon ouer them al. Thou arte that golden head.

⁴⁷ The kynge aunswered Daniel, and sayde: yea of a trueth your God is a GOD aboue all Goddes, a Lorde aboue all kynges and an opener of secretes: seynge thou canste dyscouer thys mysterye.

²⁵ Thou shalte be caste oute from men, & thy dwellyng shalbe with the beastes of the feld: with grasse shalte thou be fed lyke an oxe. Thou must be wet with the dewe of the heauen, yea seuen yeares shall come, and go vpon the, tyll thou know, that the hyest hath power vpon the kingedomes of men, & geueth them to whome he lyst.

³² thou shalte be cast oute of mens companye: thy dwelling shalbe with the beastes of the felde, so that thou shalte eate grasse lyke as an oxe, tyll seuen yeares be come & gone ouer the: euen vntill thou knoweste, that the hyest hath power vpon the kyngdoms of men, and that he may geue them, vnto whom it pleaseth hym.

² & when he was droncken with wyne, he commaunded to brynge hym the golden and syluer vessels, whiche his father Nabuchodonosor had taken oute of the temple at Ierusalem, that the king and hys lordes with hys quene and concubynes might drincke thereoute. ³ So they broughte the golden vessell, that was taken oute of the temple of the Lordes house at Ierusalem. Then the kynge and hys lordes with his quene & concubynes droncke oute of them.

¹⁹ so that al people, kynredes and tunge stode in awe & feare of him, by reason of the hye estate, that he had lente him. For why, he slewe whom he wold: he smote, whom it pleased hym. Agayne, whom he wolde, he set vp: and whome he lyst, he put doune. ²⁰ But because hys herte was so proude, and hys stomacke set so fast vnto wilfulnesse: he was deposed from hys kingly trone, & his magesty was taken from hym. ²¹ He was shote oute from amonge men, his herte was lyke a beastes herte, and hys dwellynge was wyth the wylde asses: he was fayne to eate grasse lyke an oxe, and hys body was wet with the dewe of the heauen: tyll he knewe, that the hyest had power vpon the kingdomes of men, and setteth ouer them, whome he lyst.

²³ but hast magnyfyed thy selfe aboue the Lorde of heauen, so that the vessels of hys house were broughte before the, that thou, and thy Lordes, with thy quene and concubynes, myght drincke wyne thereoute: And hast praysed the Idoles of syluer and golde, copper and yron, of wode and stone: As for the God in whose hande consysteth thy breth and all thy wayes: thou haste not loaued hym.

²⁶ My commaundement is, in al my dominion & kingedome, that men feare and stande in awe of Daniels God. For he is the liuinge God, whiche abydeth euer: his kingedome shall not fayle, and hys power is euerlasting.

¹ In the seconde yeare of Kynge Darius, in the .vi. moneth, the first day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lorde (by the Prophete Aggeus) vnto Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel the prynce of Iuda, and to Iesua the sonne of Iosedech the hye prieste, sayinge:

¹⁴ So the Lorde waked vp the spryte of Zorobabel the prince of Iuda, and the sprete of Iesua the sonne of Iosedech the hye priest, and the sprete of the remnaunte of all the people: that they came, and laboured, in the house of the Lorde of Hostes theyr God.

² speake to Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel prince of Iuda, and to Iesua the sonne of Iosedech the hye priest, & to the resydue of the people, and saye: ³ Who is lefte amonge you, that sawe this house in her fyrste beutye? But what thinck ye now by it? Is it not in your eyes, euen as though it were nothynge? ⁴ Neuerthelesse be of good chere O Zarobabel (sayeth the Lorde) be of good comforte, O Iesua thou sonne of Iosedech hye pryest: take good hertes vnto you also, all ye people of the lande, sayeth the Lorde of hostes

⁶ He aunswered, and sayde vnto me: Thys is the word of the Lorde vnto Zorobabel, saying: Nether thorowe an hoste of men, nor thorow strength, but thorowe my sprete, sayeth the Lorde of hoostes. ⁷ What art thou, thou greate mountayne, before Zorobabel: thou must be mayde euen. And he shall brynge vp the fyrst stone, so that men shall crye vnto hym: good lucke, good lucke. ⁸ Moreouer the worde of the Lorde came vnto me, sayinge: ⁹ The handes of Zorobabel haue layed the foundacyon of thys house, his handes shal also fynysh it, that ye may know how that the Lorde of hostes hath sent me vnto you. ¹⁰ For he hath ben dispysed a lytle season, shall reioyce, when he seyth the tynne weyght in Zorobabels hande. The .vij. eyes are the Lordes, whiche go thorowe the whole worlde.

¹¹ Iosias begat Iechonias & hys brethren about the tyme they were caried awaye to Babylon. ¹² And after they were brought to Babylou Iechonias begat Salathiel: Salathiel begat zorobabel:

¹ In those dayes Iohn the Baptist came and preached in the wyldernes of Iury ² saying: Repent the kingdome of heauen is at hande. ³ This is he of whom it is spoken by the prophete Esaye which sayeth: The voice of a cryer in wildernes prepare the Lordes way and make his pathes, strayt.

²⁹ Are not two sparowes solde for a farthyng? And none of them doth lyght on the grounde, without your father. ³⁰ And now are all that heires of your heades numbred. ³¹ Feare ye not therfore: ye are of more value then many sparowes.

⁸ And she beynge informed of her mother before sayd: geue me here Ihon Baptistes head in a platter.

²⁰ Teachyng then to obserue all thynges whatsoeuer I commaunded you, And lo I am with you alwaye, euen vntyll the ende of the worlde.

²³ He sayde: I am the voice of a cryar in the wyldernes, make strayght the waye of the Lorde, as sayde the Prophete Esaias.

³⁶ Ye knowe the preachinge that God sent vnto the chyldren of Israel, preachynge peace by Iesus Christe, whiche is Lorde ouer all thinges.

¹⁷ But after many yeares I came & brought almes to my people and offerynges,

²³ that he myght declare the riches of his glory on the vesseles of mercye, whiche he had prepared vnto glorye:

¹⁶ Thankes be vnto God, which put in the hert of Titus the same good mynde towarde you.

⁷ And let euery man do accordyng as he hath purposed in hys hert, not groundgingly, or of necessitie. For God loueth a chearefull geuer.

² Beare ye one anothers burthen, and so fulfyl the lawe of christ.

¹³ For it is God, whyche worketh in you, both the wyll and also the dede, euen of good wyl.

¹⁹ But the sure grounde of God remayneth, and hath thys seale: the Lord knoweth them that are his, & let euerye man that calleth on the name of Christe departe from iniquitie. ²⁰ Notwtstandyng in a greate house are not onelye vessels of golde and of syluer: but also of woode and of earthe, some for honoure, and some vnto dyshonoure. ²¹ But yf a man purge hym self from suche felowes, he shalbe a vessell sanctyfyed vnto honoure, mete for the Lorde, & prepared vnto all good workes.

¹⁶ Erre not my deare brethren. ¹⁷ Euery good gyfte, and euerye perfecte gyfte, is from aboue and commeth doune from the father of lyght wyth whome is no varyablenes, neyther is he chaunged vnto darkenes.

⁶ whiche beare wytnes of thy loue before all the congregacion. Whiche brethren when thou bringest forwards on their iourney (as it besemeth God) thou shalt do wel, ⁷ because that for his names sake they wente forth, and toke nothinge of the Gentiles. ⁸ We therfore ought to receyue suche, that we also myght be healpers to the trueth.

¹¹ Beloued, folowe not that whiche is euyll, but that which is good. He that doth well, is of God, but he that doth euyl, seeth not God.
