⁴ Then Moyses wrote all the wordes of the Lorde & rose vp early and made an aulter vnder the hyl, & .xij. pyllers according to the numbre of the .xij. trybes of Israell,

¹⁸ And Iacob stode vp early in the morning, & toke the stone that he hadde laied vnder his head, and pitched it vpon the ende, and poured oyle vpon the top of it:

²² & thys stone whyche I haue sette vp an ende, shall be Goddes house: and of all that thou shalte gyue me, wyll I gyue the tenth vnto the.

⁴⁵ Then toke Iacob a stone and set it vp an ende,

²⁴ An aulter of erth thou shalte make vnto me and thereon offer thy burntofferynges & thy peace offeringes, and thy shepe and thyne oxen. And in all places where I shall put the remembraunce of my name, thither I will come vnto the & blesse the. ²⁵ But and if thou wilt make me an aulter of stone, se thou make it not of hewed stone, for if thou lift vp thy tole vpon it, thou shalt polute it. ²⁶ Moreouer thou shalt not go vp wt steppes vnto myne aulter, that thy nakednesse be not shewed thereon.

²¹ And the stones shalbe grauen as signettes be grauen: wyth the names of the children of Israell euen wyth .xij. names euerye one wt hys name accordinge to the .xii. tribes

⁵ And thou shalt take fyne floure and bake .xij. wastels thereof, two tenthdeales shall euery wastell be.

² speake vnto the chyldren of Israel and take of them for euery principal house a rodde, of theyr prynces ouer the houses of their fathers: euen .xij. roddes, & write euery mans name vpon his rod.

⁹ And Moses wrote thys lawe and deliuered it to the priestes the sonnes of Leui whyche bare the arcke of the testament of the Lorde and vnto all the elders of Israell,

² take you hence out of the middes of Iordan ³ euen out of the place where the priestes stode in readines .xij. stones. And take ye them away wyth you & put them in the place where you lodge at nyght.

⁸ And the chyldren of Israel dyd euen so as Iosua commaunded, and toke vp twelue stones oute of the myddes of Iordan, as the Lorde sayde vnto Iosua accordynge to the nombre of the trybes of the chyldren of Israel, & caryed them awaye wyth them vnto the place where they lodged, and layed them doune there. ⁹ And thereto Iosua set vp twelue stones in the myddes of Iordan in the place where the fete of the pryestes which bare the arcke of the testament stode. And there they be euen vnto thys day.

²⁰ And the twelue stones which they toke out of Iordan, Iosua pitched in Galgal.

²⁶ And Iosua wrote these wordes in the boke of the lawe of God, and toke a great stone and pytched it on ende in the sayde place euen vnder an ocke that stode in the sanctuarye of the Lorde. ²⁷ And Iosua sayde vnto all the people: beholde, thys stone shalbe a wytnesse vnto vs, for it hath hearde all the wordes of the Lorde whiche he spake wyth vs. It shalbe therfore a wytnesse vnto you, leste ye lye vnto youre God.

³⁰ And Ahiah caught the newe mantell that was on hym, & rent it in twelue peces,

¹⁷ and offered at the dedycacion of the house of God, an hundred calues, two hundred lambes, four hundred goates: and for the synofferinge for all Israell twelue he goates, accordinge to the nombre of the trybes of Israel,

³⁰ that ye maye eate and drinke at my table in my kingdome, and syt on seates, and iudge the twelue tribes of Israel.

⁹ and therfore when they perceyued the grace that was geuen vnto me, then Iames, Cephas, and Iohn, whiche semed to be pyllars, gaue to me & Barnabas the ryght handes, & agreed with vs, that we should preach amonge the Heathen, and they amonge the Iewes,

¹⁴ & the wal of the citie had .xij. foundacyons, & in them the names of the lambes twelue Apostles.
