¹⁴ & said vnto the elders: tarye ye here vntyll we come agayne vnto you: And beholde here is Aaron & Hur with you. If any man haue any matters to do, let hym come to them.

⁵ and sayd vnto hys yong men: byde here with the asse. I and the lad wyll goo yonder and worshyppe and come agayne vnto you.

¹⁰ And Iosua dyd as Moses bade hym, and foughte with the Amelechites. And Moses, Aaron and Hur went vp to the toppe of the hyll.

¹² When Moses handes were weery, they toke a stone & put it vnder hym, and he satte downe thereon. And Aaron and Hur stayed vp hys handes, the one on the one syde, and the other on the other syde. And hys handes were steady vntill the sunne was downe.

²⁵ & chose actyue men out of all Israel and made them heades ouer the people, captaynes ouer thousandes, ouer hundreds, ouer fiftye and ouer ten. ²⁶ And thei iudged the people at all seasons, & brought the harde causes vnto Moyses: & iudged all small matters them selfes.

¹ And whan the people saw that it was long or Moses came down out of the mountaine, they gathered theym selues together and came vnto Aaron and sayd vnto him. Vp and make vs a God to goo before vs: for of thys Moises the felow that brought vs out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become.

⁸ And thou shalt also go before me to Galgall. And beholde I wyl come vnto the, to sacrifye burnt sacrifice & peace offerynges. Tary for me seuen dayes, tyll I come to the, & shew the what thou shalt do.

⁸ And he taryed seuen dayes, as Samuel had appoynted. But Samuell came not to Galgal, & the people scatered from hym. ⁹ Wherfore Saule sayde: bryng burnt sacryfyce to me & peace offerynges. And he offered burnt sacrifice. ¹⁰ And as sone as he had made an ende of offeryng burnte offerynges, behold, Samuel came. And Saul went agaynste him to salute him. ¹¹ Then sayde Samuel to Saul: what hast thou done? And Saule sayd: because I saw that the people skatered from me, & that thou camest not within the dayes apoynted & that the Philistines gathered them selues together to Machmas: ¹² then sayd I: the Philistines shall come doune vpon me to Galgal, yer I haue made supplicacyon vnto the Lorde. And therfore I toke a courage wyth me, and offered burnt offerynges. ¹³ Then sayde Samuel to Saul, thou hast done folyshly & hast not kept the commaundement of the Lorde thy God whiche he commaunded the. For at thys tyme wolde the Lord haue stablished thy kyngdom vpon Israel for euer.
