Deuteronomy 1:15-18

15 And then I took the heads of your tribes, men of wisdom and that were expert, and made them rulers over you: captains over thousands and over hundreds, over fifty and over ten, and officers among your tribes. 16 And I charged your judges the same time, saying, 'Hear your brethren and judge righteously between every man and his brother and the stranger that is with him. 17 See that ye know no man in judgment: but hear the small as well as the great and be afraid of no man, for the judgment is God's. And the cause that is too hard for you, bring unto me and I will hear it.' 18 And I commanded you the same season, all the things which ye should do.

Deuteronomy 16:18

18 Judges and officers thou shalt make thee in all thy cities, which the LORD thy God giveth thee throughout thy tribes: And let them judge the people righteously.

Deuteronomy 17:8-15

8 If a matter be too hard for thee in judgment between blood and blood, plea and plea, stroke and stroke in matters of strife within thy cities: Then arise and get thee up unto the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen, 9 and go unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and ask, and they shall show thee how to judge. 10 And see that thou do according to that which they of that place which the LORD hath chosen show thee, and see that thou observe to do according to all that they inform thee. 11 According to the law which they teach thee and manner of judgment which they tell thee, see that thou do and that thou bow not from that which they show thee, neither to the righthand nor to the left. 12 And that man that will do presumptuously, so that he will not hearken unto the priest that standeth there to minister unto the LORD thy God or unto the judge, shall die: and so thou shalt put away evil from Israel. 13 And all the people shall hear and shall fear, and shall do no more presumptuously. 14 When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee and enjoyest it and dwellest therein: If thou shalt say, 'I will set a king over me, like unto all the nations that are about me': 15 Then thou shalt make him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose. One of thy brethren must thou make king over thee, and mayest not set a stranger over thee which is not of thy brethren.

Psalms 80:8-14

8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt; thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. 9 Thou madest room for it, and caused it to take root, so that it filled the land. 10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedar-trees. 11 She stretched out her branches unto the sea, and her boughs unto the river. 12 Why hast thou then broken down her hedge, that all they which go by, pluck off her grapes? 13 The wild boar out of the wood hath rooted it up, and the beasts of the field have devoured it. 14 Turn thee again, thou God of hosts, look down from heaven, behold and visit this vine,

Song of Songs 8:11-12

11 Solomon had a vineyard at Baalhamon; this vineyard delivered he unto the keepers, that every one for the fruit thereof should give him a thousand pieces of silver. 12 But my vineyard, O Solomon, giveth thee a thousand, and two hundred to the keepers of the fruit.

Isaiah 5:1-7

1 Now will I sing my beloved friend a song of his vineyard. My beloved friend hath a vineyard in a very fruitful plenteous ground. 2 This he hedged, this he walled round about, and planted it with goodly grapes. In the midst of it builded he a tower, and made a wine press therein. And afterward when he looked that it should bring him grapes, it brought forth thorns. 3 I show you now my cause, O ye Citizens of Jerusalem and whole Judah: Judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. 4 What more could have been done for it, that I have not done? Wherefore than hath it given thorns, where I looked to have had grapes of it? 5 Well, now I shall tell you how I will do with my vineyard: I will take the hedge from it, that it may perish, and break down the wall, that it may be trodden under foot. 6 I will lay it waste, that it shall neither be twisted nor cut, but bear thorns and briers. I will also forbid the clouds, that they shall not rain upon it. 7 As for the vineyard of the LORD of Hosts, it is the house of Israel, and whole Judah his fair planting. Of these he looked for equity, but see there is wrong; for righteousness, lo, it is but misery.

Jeremiah 2:21

21 and among all green trees. Whereas I planted thee out of noble grapes and good roots. How art thou turned then into a bitter, unfruitful, and strange grape?

Matthew 21:33-46

33 "Hearken another similitude. There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and made a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange country: 34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, to receive the fruits of it, 35 and the husbandmen caught his servants, and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first, and they served them likewise. 37 But last of all, he sent unto them his own son, saying, 'They will fear my son.' 38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir: come on, let us kill him, and let us take his inheritance, to ourselves.' 39 And they caught him, and thrust him out of the vineyard, and slew him. 40 When the Lord of the vineyard cometh, what will he do with those husbandmen?" 41 They said unto him, He will cruelly destroy those evil persons; and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall deliver him the fruit at times convenient. 42 Jesus said unto them, "Did ye never read in the scriptures? 'The same stone which the builders refused, the same is set in the principal part of the corner: this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.' 43 Therefore say I unto you, the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to the Gentiles, which shall bring forth the fruits of it. 44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone, he shall be alto broken. But on whosoever it shall fall upon, it will grind him to powder." 45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees heard these similitudes, they perceived that he spake of them. 46 And they went about to lay hands on him, but they feared the people, because they took him as a prophet.

Matthew 25:14

14 "Likewise, as a certain man, ready to take his journey to a strange country, called his servants to him, and delivered to them his goods.

Mark 12:1-12

1 And he began to speak unto them in similitudes. "A certain man planted a vineyard, and compassed it with a hedge, and ordained a winepress, and built a tower in it, and let it out to hire unto husbandmen, and went into a strange country. 2 And when the time was come, he sent to the tenants a servant that he might receive of the tenants of the fruit of the vineyard. 3 And they caught him and beat him and sent him again empty. 4 And moreover he sent unto them another servant, and at him they cast stones and brake his head, and sent him again all too reviled. 5 And again he sent another, and him they killed: and many others, beating some, and killing some. 6 "Yet had he one son whom he loved tenderly, him also sent he at the last unto them, saying, 'They will fear my son.' 7 But the tenants said amongst themselves, 'This is the heir: come, let us kill him and the inheritance shall be ours.' 8 And they took him and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. 9 What shall then the Lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the tenants, and let out the vineyard to others. 10 Have ye not read this scripture? 'The stone which the builders did refuse, is made the chief stone in the corner: 11 This was done of the Lord, and is marvelous in our eyes.'" 12 And they went about to take him, but they feared the people. For they perceived that he spake that similitude against them. And they left him and went their way.

Luke 19:12

John 15:1-8

1 I am the true vine, and my father is a husbandman. 2 Every branch that beareth not fruit in me, he will take away. And every branch that beareth fruit will he purge, that it may bring more fruit. 3 Now are ye clean, through the words which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and let me abide in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine: no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, and ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit. For without me can ye do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered: and men gather it and cast it into the fire, and it burneth. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words also abide in you: ask what ye will, and it shall be done to you. 8 Herein is my father glorified, that ye bear much fruit, and be made my disciples.

1 Corinthians 3:6-9

6 I have planted. Apollos watered. But God gave increase. 7 So then, neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth: but God which gave the increase. 8 He that planteth, and he that watereth, are neither better than the other. Every man yet shall receive his reward according to his labour. 9 We are God's laborers: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
