³ And Abraham called his son's name that was born unto him, which Sara bare him, Isaac:

¹⁹ Then said God, "Nay. Sara thy wife shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name Isaac. And I will make my covenant with him, that it shall be an everlasting covenant unto his seed after him.

⁶ And Sara said, "God hath made me a laughingstock: for all that hear, will laugh at me."

¹² Then the LORD said unto Abraham, "Let it not be grievous unto thee, because of the lad and of thy bondmaid: But in all that Sara hath said unto thee, hear her voice, for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

² And he said, "Take thy only son Isaac whom thou lovest, and get thee unto the land of Moria, and sacrifice him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will show thee."

³ But I took your father Abraham from the other side of the water, and brought him into the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac.

² Abraham begat Isaac; Isaac begat Jacob; Jacob begat Judah and his brethren;

⁸ And he gave him the covenant of circumcision, and he begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day, and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob the twelve patriarchs.

⁷ Neither are they all children straightway because they are the seed of Abraham: But in Isaac shall thy seed be called,

¹⁸ Of whom it was said, "In Isaac shall thy seed be called."
