¹ Of David, when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, so that the king drove him away. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.

² Abraham said of his wife Sarah, “She is my sister.” So Abimelech king of Gerar had Sarah brought to him.

¹ Now there was another famine in the land, subsequent to the one that had occurred in Abraham’s time. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines at Gerar.

¹³ So he changed his behavior before them and feigned madness in their hands; he scratched on the doors of the gate and let his saliva run down his beard. ¹⁴ Then Achish said to his servants, “Look, you can see that the man is insane! Why have you brought him to me? ¹⁵ Am I in need of madmen, that you have brought this man to rave in my presence? Must this man come into my house?”

⁶ I have leaned on You since birth; You pulled me from my mother’s womb. My praise is always for You.

⁸ My mouth is filled with Your praise and with Your splendor all day long.

¹⁴ But I will always hope and will praise You more and more. ¹⁵ My mouth will declare Your righteousness and Your salvation all day long, though I cannot know their full measure.

²⁵ The fear of man is a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is set securely on high.

¹⁵ Therefore glorify the LORD in the east. Extol the name of the LORD, the God of Israel in the islands of the sea. ¹⁶ From the ends of the earth we hear singing: “Glory to the Righteous One.” But I said, “I am wasting away! I am wasting away! Woe is me.” The treacherous betray; the treacherous deal in treachery.

⁴¹ The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the name of Jesus.

³ We are obligated to thank God for you all the time, brothers, as is fitting, because your faith is growing more and more, and your love for one another is increasing.

¹³ But we should always thank God for you, brothers who are loved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning to be saved by the sanctification of the Spirit and by faith in the truth.
