¹ The burden of the word of Jehovah upon the land of Hadrach and Damascus its resting-place (for the eye of man and of all the tribes of Israel is toward Jehovah), ² and also Hamath, which borders on it, Tyre and Sidon, because they are very wise. ³ And Tyre built herself a stronghold and heaped up silver as the dust and fine gold as the mud of the streets.
⁴ Behold, the Lord will dispossess her and he will kill* her power in the sea and she will be devoured with fire. ⁵ Ashkelon will see it and fear, Gaza also and will be greatly pained and Ekron, for her expectation will be put to shame. And the king will perish from Gaza and Ashkelon will not be inhabited.
⁶ And a bastard will dwell in Ashdod and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines. ⁷ And I will take away his blood out of his mouth and his abominations from between his teeth. And he also will be a remnant for our God and he will be as a chieftain in Judah and Ekron as a Jebusite.
⁸ And I will encamp the army around my house, that none pass through or return and no oppressor will pass through them any more. For now I have seen with my eyes.
⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion. Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem. Behold, your king comes to you. He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding upon a donkey, even upon a colt the foal of a donkey.
¹⁰ And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem and the battle bow will be cut off. And he will speak peace to the nations. And his dominion will be from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.
¹¹ As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant I have set free your prisoners from the pit in which is no water.
¹² Turn back to the stronghold, you* prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will render double to you. ¹³ For I have bent Judah for me. I have filled the bow with Ephraim. And I will stir up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece and will make you as the sword of a mighty man. ¹⁴ And Jehovah will be seen over them. And his arrow will go forth as the lightning. And the lord Jehovah will blow the trumpet and will go with whirlwinds of the south.
¹⁵ Jehovah of hosts will defend them. And they will devour and will tread down the sling-stones. And they will drink and make a noise as through wine and they will be filled like bowls, like the corners of the altar. ¹⁶ And Jehovah their God will save them in that day as the flock of his people, as for the stones of a crown, lifted on high over his land. ¹⁷ For how great is his goodness and how great is his beauty! Grain will make the young men flourish and new wine the virgins.

¹⁵ And he divided himself against them by night, he and his servants and killed* them and pursued them to Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

¹² O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us. Neither do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.

¹⁵ My eyes are ever toward Jehovah, because he will pluck my feet out of the net.

¹⁵ The eyes of all wait for you and you give them their food in due season.

⁸ The Lord sent a word into Jacob and it has lighted upon Israel. ⁹ And all the people will know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, who say in pride and in arrogance of heart, ¹⁰ The bricks are fallen, but we will build with hewn stone, the sycamores are cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.
¹¹ Therefore Jehovah will set up on high against him the adversaries of Rezin and will stir up his enemies, ¹² the Syrians in front and the Philistines behind and they will devour Israel with open mouth.
For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
¹³ Yet the people have not turned to him who killed* them, nor have they sought Jehovah of hosts. ¹⁴ Therefore Jehovah will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm-branch and rush, in one day. ¹⁵ The elder and the honorable man, he is the head. And the prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail. ¹⁶ For those who lead this people make them go-astray and those who are led by them are destroyed.
¹⁷ Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, nor will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows. For everyone is profane and an evildoer and every mouth does senselessness.
For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
¹⁸ For wickedness burns as the fire. It devours the briers and thorns. Yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest and they roll upward in a column of smoke. ¹⁹ Through the wrath of Jehovah of hosts is the land burnt up and the people are as the fuel of fire; no man spares his brother.
²⁰ And he will snatch on the right hand and be hungry. And he will eat on the left hand and they will not be satisfied. They will eat every man the flesh of his own arm– ²¹ Manasseh, Ephraim and Ephraim, Manasseh and together they will be against Judah.
For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

¹ The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.

¹ The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city and it will be a ruinous heap. ² The cities of Aroer are forsaken. They will be for flocks, which will lie down and none will make them afraid. ³ And the fortress will cease from Ephraim and the kingdom from Damascus. And the remnant of Syria, they will be as the glory of the sons of Israel, says Jehovah of hosts.

⁷ In that day men will look to their maker and their eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel. ⁸ And they will not look to the altars, the work of their hands, nor will they have respect for what their fingers have made, either the Asherim or the sun-images.

²⁰ Assemble yourselves and come, draw near together, you* that are escaped of the nations. They have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image and pray to a god that cannot save. ²¹ Declare and bring it forth. Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has shown this from long-ago? Who has declared it long since? Have not I, Jehovah? And there is no other God besides me, a just God and a Savior. There is none besides me. ²² Look to me and be you* saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else.

¹⁰ Jehovah has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations and all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

¹⁹ O Jehovah, my strength and my stronghold and my refuge in the day of affliction, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and will say, Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, even vanity and things in which there is no profit.

³³ And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, will ask you, saying, What is the burden of Jehovah? Then you will say to them, What burden?
I will cast you* off, says Jehovah. ³⁴ And as for the prophet and the priest and the people, who will say, The burden of Jehovah, I will even punish that man and his house.
³⁵ Thus you* will say each one to his neighbor and each one to his brother, What has Jehovah answered? and, What has Jehovah spoken? ³⁶ And the burden of Jehovah you* will mention no more, for every man's own word will be his burden. For you* have perverted the words of the living God, of Jehovah of hosts our God.
³⁷ Thus you will say to the prophet: What has Jehovah answered you? and, What has Jehovah spoken? ³⁸ But if you* say, The burden of Jehovah, therefore Jehovah says thus: Because you* say this word, The burden of Jehovah and I have sent to you*, saying, You* will not say, The burden of Jehovah,

²³ Of Damascus. Hamath is confounded and Arpad, for they have heard evil news. They are melted away. There is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet. ²⁴ Damascus has grown feeble. She turns herself to flee and trembling has seized on her. Anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a woman in travail.
²⁵ How is the city of praise not forsaken, the city of my joy? ²⁶ Therefore her young men will fall in her streets and all the men of war will be brought to silence in that day, says Jehovah of hosts. ²⁷ And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus and it will devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.

³ Jehovah says thus: For three transgressions of Damascus, yes, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron. ⁴ But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael and it will devour the palaces of Ben-hadad. ⁵ And I will break the bar of Damascus and cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven and he who holds the scepter from the house of Eden and the people of Syria will go into captivity to Kir, says Jehovah.

¹² Jehovah says thus: As the shepherd rescues out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so will the sons of Israel be rescued who sit in Samaria in the corner of a couch and on the silken cushions of a bed.

⁴ I will cause it to go forth, says Jehovah of hosts and it will enter into the house of the thief and into the house of him who swears falsely by my name. And it will abide in the midst of his house and will consume it, with the timber of it and the stones of it.

²¹ And the inhabitants of one city will go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to entreat the favor of Jehovah and to seek Jehovah of hosts. I will go also. ²² Yes, many peoples and strong nations will come to seek Jehovah of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of Jehovah.
²³ Jehovah of hosts says thus: In those days, ten men will take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, We will go with you*, for we have heard that God is with you*.

²¹ So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath.

⁹ Arise, get you to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.

³³ And Pharaoh Neco put him in bonds at Riblah in the land of Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem. And he put the land to a tribute of a hundred talants of silver and a talant of gold.

²¹ And the king of Babylon killed* them and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.

¹ The burden of Tyre. Howl, you* ships of Tarshish, for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in. It is revealed to them from the land of Kittim. ² Be still, you* inhabitants of the coast, you whom the merchants of Sidon, who pass over the sea, have replenished. ³ And on great waters the seed of the Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue and she was the mart of nations.
⁴ Be ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying, I have not travailed, nor brought forth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins. ⁵ When the report comes to Egypt, they will be greatly pained at the report of Tyre. ⁶ Pass over to Tarshish. Wail, you* inhabitants of the coast. ⁷ Is this your* joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days, whose feet carried her afar off to journey?
⁸ Who has purposed this against Tyre, the giver of crowns, whose merchants are rulers, whose traders are the honored of the earth? ⁹ Jehovah of hosts has purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.
¹⁰ Pass through your land as the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish, there is no restraint any more. ¹¹ He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. Jehovah has given commandment concerning Canaan, to destroy the strongholds of it. ¹² And he said, You will no more rejoice, O you oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, pass over to Kittim, even there will you have no rest.
¹³ Behold, the land of the Chaldeans. This people once was not. The Assyrian founded it for those who dwell in the wilderness. They set up their towers. They raised up the palaces of it. Then they made it a ruin. ¹⁴ Howl, you* ships of Tarshish, for your* stronghold is laid waste.
¹⁵ And it will happen in that day, that Tyre will be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king. After the end of seventy years it will be to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute: ¹⁶ Take a harp, go about the city, you prostitute who has been forgotten. Make sweet melody, sing many songs, that you may be remembered.
¹⁷ And it happened after the end of seventy years, that Jehovah examined Tyre and she has repented of her gift, that she play the prostitute with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth. ¹⁸ And her merchandise and her pay will be holiness to Jehovah. It will not be treasured nor laid up, for her merchandise will be for those who dwell before Jehovah, to eat sufficiently and for durable clothing.

²³ Of Damascus. Hamath is confounded and Arpad, for they have heard evil news. They are melted away. There is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

¹ And it happened in the eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the word of Jehovah came to me, saying, ² Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken, the gate of the peoples. She has turned around to me. I will be replenished, now that she is laid waste, ³ therefore thus says the lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against you, O Tyre and will cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes its waves to come up.
⁴ And they will destroy the walls of Tyre and break down her towers. I will also scrape her dust from her and make her a bare rock. ⁵ She will be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea, for I have spoken it, says the lord Jehovah.
And she will become a spoil to the nations, ⁶ and her daughters who are in the field will be slain with the sword.
And they will know that I am Jehovah.
⁷ For thus says the lord Jehovah: Behold, I will bring upon Tyre, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north, with horses and with chariots and with horsemen and a company and many people.
⁸ He will kill your daughters in the field with the sword. And he will make forts against you and cast up a mound against you and raise up the buckler against you. ⁹ And he will set his battering engines against your walls and with his axes he will break down your towers.
¹⁰ Because of the abundance of his horses their dust will cover you. Your walls will shake at the noise of the horsemen and of the wagons and of the chariots, when he will enter into your gates, as men enter into a city in which a breach is made.
¹¹ With the hoofs of his horses he will tread down all your streets. He will kill your people with the sword and the pillars of your strength will go down to the ground. ¹² And they will make a spoil of your riches and make a prey of your merchandise. And they will break down your walls and destroy your desirable houses and they will lay your stones and your timber and your dust in the midst of the waters.
¹³ And I will cause the roar of your songs to cease and the sound of your harps will no more be heard. ¹⁴ And I will make you a bare rock; you will be a place for the spreading of nets. You will be built no more, for I Jehovah have spoken it, says the lord Jehovah.
¹⁵ The lord Jehovah says thus to Tyre: Shall not the isles shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter is made in the midst of you? ¹⁶ Then all the rulers of the sea will come down from their thrones and lie aside their robes and strip off their embroidered garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling. They will sit upon the ground and will tremble every moment and be astonished at you.
¹⁷ And they will take up a lamentation over you and say to you, How you are destroyed, who were inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city that was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be on all who dwelt there! ¹⁸ Now the isles will tremble in the day of your fall. Yes, the isles that are in the sea will be dismayed at your departure.
¹⁹ For thus says the lord Jehovah: When I will make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited, when I will bring up the deep upon you and the great waters will cover you, ²⁰ then I will bring you down with those who descend into the pit, to the people of old time and will make you to dwell in the nether parts of the earth, in the places that are desolate of old, with those who go down to the pit, that you not be inhabited. And I will set glory in the land of the living.
²¹ I will make you a horror and you will no more have any being. Though you are sought for, yet you will not be found again everlasting, says the lord Jehovah.

² Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, The lord Jehovah says thus: Because your heart is lifted up and you have said, I am a god. I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas. Yet you are man and not God, though you did set your heart as the heart of God.
³ Behold, you are wiser than Daniel. There is no secret that is hidden from you. ⁴ By your wisdom and by your understanding you have gotten you riches and have gotten gold and silver into your treasures. ⁵ By your great wisdom and by your traffic you have increased your riches. And your heart is lifted up because of your riches.

¹² Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, The lord Jehovah says thus: You seal up the sum, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

²¹ Son of man, set your face toward Sidon and prophesy against it, ²² and say, The lord Jehovah says thus: Behold, I am against you, O Sidon. And I will be glorified in the midst of you.
And they will know that I am Jehovah, when I will have executed judgments in her and will be made holy in her. ²³ For I will send pestilence into her and blood into her streets. And the wounded will fall in the midst of her, with the sword upon her on every side.
And they will know that I am Jehovah.
²⁴ And there will no more be a prickling brier to the house of Israel, nor a hurting thorn of any who are all around them, who did spite to them.
And they will know that I am the lord Jehovah.
²⁵ The lord Jehovah says thus: When I will have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered and will be made holy in them in the sight of the nations, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to my servant Jacob.
²⁶ And they will dwell securely in it. Yes, they will build houses and plant vineyards and will dwell securely, when I have executed judgments upon all those who do them spite all around them.
And they will know that I am Jehovah their God.

⁴ Yes and what are you* to me, O Tyre and Sidon and all the regions of Philistia? Will you* render me a recompense? And if you* recompense me, I will return your* recompense swiftly and speedily upon your* own head.
⁵ Inasmuch as you* have taken my silver and my gold and have carried into your* temples my desirable precious things, ⁶ and have sold the sons of Judah and the sons of Jerusalem to the sons of the Grecians, that you* may remove them far from their border, ⁷ behold, I will stir them up out of the place where you* have sold them and will return your* recompense upon your* own head. ⁸ And I will sell your* sons and your* daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah and they will sell them to the men of Sheba, to a nation far off. For Jehovah has spoken it.

¹⁴ For, behold, I will raise up against you* a nation, O house of Israel, says Jehovah, the God of hosts and they will afflict you* from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of the Arabah.

²⁰ And the captives of this host of the sons of Israel, who are among the Canaanites, will possess even to Zarephath. And the captives of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad will possess the cities of the South.

²⁹ and the border turned to Ramah and to the fortified city of Tyre and the border turned to Hosah. And the goings out of it were at the sea by the region of Achzib,

⁷ and came to the stronghold of Tyre and to all the cities of the Hivites and of the Canaanites. And they went out to the south of Judah, at Beer-sheba.

²⁷ And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones and cedars he made to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.

²⁴ Then you will lay up gold as dust and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

¹⁶ Though he heaps up silver as the dust and prepares garments as the clay,

⁸ Who has purposed this against Tyre, the giver of crowns, whose merchants are rulers, whose traders are the honored of the earth?

³³ When your wares went forth out of the seas, you filled many peoples. You enriched the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise.

² Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.

⁴ Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

²⁶ Your rowers have brought you into great waters. The east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas. ²⁷ Your riches and your wares, your merchandise, your mariners and your pilots, your repairers and the dealers in your merchandise and all your men of war, who are in you, with all your company which is in the midst of you, will fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin.
²⁸ At the sound of the cry of your pilots the suburbs will shake. ²⁹ And all who handled the oar, the mariners and all the pilots of the sea, will come down from their ships. They will stand upon the land, ³⁰ and will cause their voice to be heard over you and will cry bitterly and will cast up dust upon their heads. They will wallow themselves in the ashes. ³¹ And they will make themselves bald for you and gird with sackcloth and they will weep for you in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning.
³² And in their wailing they will take up a lamentation for you and lament over you, saying, Who is there like Tyre, like her that is brought to silence in the midst of the sea? ³³ When your wares went forth out of the seas, you filled many peoples. You enriched the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise.
³⁴ In the time that you were broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, your merchandise and all your company fell in the midst of you. ³⁵ All the inhabitants of the isles are astonished at you and their kings are horribly afraid; they are troubled in their countenance. ³⁶ The merchants among the peoples hiss at you. You have become a horror and you will not be until everlasting.

² Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, The lord Jehovah says thus: Because your heart is lifted up and you have said, I am a god. I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas. Yet you are man and not God, though you did set your heart as the heart of God.

⁸ They will bring you down to the pit and you will die the death of those who are slain, in the heart of the seas.

¹⁶ By the abundance of your commerce they filled the midst of you with violence and you have sinned. Therefore I have cast you out of the mountain of God as profane and I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

¹⁸ By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your commerce, you have profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought out a fire from the midst of you. It has devoured you and I have turned you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all those who behold you.

⁸ And I will sell your* sons and your* daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah and they will sell them to the men of Sheba, to a nation far off. For Jehovah has spoken it.

¹⁰ But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre and it will devour the palaces of it.

²⁹ Rejoice not, O Philistia, all of you, because the rod that killed* you is broken. For out of the serpent's root will come out an adder and his fruit will be a fiery flying serpent. ³⁰ And the firstborn of the poor will feed and the needy will lie down in safety. And I will kill your root with famine and your remnant will be slain. ³¹ Howl, O gate, cry, O city. You are melted away, O Philistia, all of you. For there comes a smoke out of the north and there is no straggler in his ranks.

⁵ And they will be dismayed and confounded because of Ethiopia their confidence and of Egypt their glory. ⁶ And the inhabitant of this coast will say in that day, Behold, such is our trust, where we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria. And we, how will we escape?

¹ The word of Jehovah that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh killed* Gaza.

⁴ because of the day that comes to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains. For Jehovah will destroy the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphtor. ⁵ Baldness has come upon Gaza. Ashkelon is brought to nothing, the remnant of their valley. How long will you cut yourself?
⁶ O you sword of Jehovah, how long will you be quiet? Put up yourself into your scabbard. Rest and be still. ⁷ How can you be quiet, since Jehovah has given you a charge against Ashkelon and against the sea-shore. He has appointed it there.

⁸ Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed. Wail for her. Take balm for her pain, perhaps she may be healed. ⁹ We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed. Forsake her and let us go each one into his own country. For her judgment reaches to heaven and is lifted up even to the skies.

¹⁵ The lord Jehovah says thus: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge and have taken vengeance with spite of soul to destroy with everlasting enmity, ¹⁶ therefore thus says the lord Jehovah: Behold, I will stretch out my hand upon the Philistines and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant of the sea coast. ¹⁷ And I will execute great vengeance upon them with wrathful rebukes.
And they will know that I am Jehovah when I will lay my vengeance upon them.

⁴ For Gaza will be forsaken and Ashkelon a desolation. They will drive out Ashdod at noonday and Ekron will be rooted up. ⁵ Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of Jehovah is against you*, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines. I will destroy you, that there will be no inhabitant. ⁶ And the seacoast will be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks. ⁷ And the coast will be for the remnant of the house of Judah. They will feed their flocks upon it. In the houses of Ashkelon they will lie down in the evening. For Jehovah their God will visit them and bring back their captivity.

²⁶ But a messenger of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Stand up and travel toward the midday sun to the road which is going down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desolate road.

⁵ and hope does not shame one, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will be shamed in nothing, but as always, now Christ will also be magnified in my body in all boldness, whether through life or through death.

⁹ And the kings of the earth, who fornicated and were promiscuous with her, will weep and will grieve over her, whenever they look upon the smoke of her fire, ¹⁰ standing from afar because of their fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! Because in one hour your judgment has come. ¹¹ And the merchants of the earth will weep and will mourn over her, because no one is buying their cargo anymore; ¹² cargo of gold, silver, precious stone, pearl, fine-linen, purple, silk, scarlet, every citron wood thing, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made out of the most precious wood and from brass, iron and marble; ¹³ and cinnamon, spice, incenses, perfume, frankincense, wine, oil, fine-flour, grain, sheep, other animals, and of horses and of chariots and of bodies and souls of men. ¹⁴ And the autumn-fruits of lust of your soul have gone away from you and all things which were luxurious and bright have perished from you and you may never find them anymore. ¹⁵ The merchants of these things, who were enriched from her, will be standing from afar because of the fear of her torment, while weeping and mourning. ¹⁶ And they are saying, Woe, woe, the great city, she who has been dressed in fine-linen, and purple and scarlet and has been arrayed in gold, precious stone and pearls! ¹⁷ Because in an hour so-many riches was made desolate. And every helmsman and everyone who sails any place and sailors and as many as are working from the sea, stood from afar,

¹⁸ And I hated all my labor in which I labored under the sun, seeing that I must leave it to the man who will be after me. ¹⁹ And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have rule over all my labor in which I have labored and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This also is vanity.
²⁰ Therefore I turned around to cause my heart to despair concerning all the labor in which I had labored under the sun.
²¹ Because there is a man whose labor is with wisdom and with knowledge and with skillfulness, yet he will leave it to a man who has not labored in it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.

² A man to whom God gives riches, wealth and honor, so that he lacks nothing for his soul of all that he desires, yet God does not give him power to eat of it, but an alien eats it. This is vanity and it is an evil disease.

¹² For there will be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon all that is proud and haughty and upon all that is lifted up and it will be brought low, ¹³ and upon all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up and upon all the oaks of Bashan, ¹⁴ and upon all the high mountains and upon all the hills that are lifted up, ¹⁵ and upon every lofty tower and upon every fortified wall, ¹⁶ and upon all the ships of Tarshish and upon all desirable imagery.
¹⁷ And the loftiness of man will be bowed down and the haughtiness of men will be brought low and Jehovah alone will be exalted in that day.

⁹ Jehovah of hosts has purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.

¹ Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley of those who are overcome with wine!

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are truth and his ways justice. And he is able to humble those who walk in pride.

⁸ And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod and he who holds the scepter from Ashkelon. And I will turn my hand against Ekron and the remnant of the Philistines will perish, says the lord Jehovah.

¹⁰ They will have this for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of Jehovah of hosts.

⁵ Likewise, the younger ones, be subject to the elder ones. But all of you be subject to one another, clothe yourselves with humility, because ‘God resists the haughty, but is giving grace to the humble.’

³⁴ And David said to Saul, Your servant was keeping his father's sheep and when there came a lion, or a bear and took a lamb out of the flock, ³⁵ I went out after him and killed* him and delivered it out of his mouth. And when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard and killed* him and killed him. ³⁶ Your servant killed* both the lion and the bear and this uncircumcised Philistine will be as one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.

¹⁶ And when the messenger stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, Jehovah relented of the evil and said to the messenger who destroyed the people, It is enough. Now stay your hand. And the messenger of Jehovah was by the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
¹⁷ And David spoke to Jehovah when he saw the messenger who killed* the people and said, Behold, I have sinned and I have done perversely, but these sheep, what have they done? I beseech you, let your hand, be against me and against my father's house.
¹⁸ And Gad came that day to David and said to him, Go up, rear an altar to Jehovah in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite. ¹⁹ And David went up according to the saying of Gad, as Jehovah commanded. ²⁰ And Araunah looked forth and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him. And Araunah went out and bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.
²¹ And Araunah said, Why has my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshing-floor from you, to build an altar to Jehovah that the plague may be halted from the people. ²² And Araunah said to David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seems good to him. Behold, the oxen for the burnt offering and the threshing instruments and the yokes of the oxen for the wood. ²³ All this, O king, Araunah gives to the king. And Araunah said to the king, Jehovah your God accept you.

⁴ And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem (what is Jebus) and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there. ⁵ And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, You will not come in here. Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David. ⁶ And David said, Whoever slays the Jebusites first will be chief and captain. And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first and was made chief.

¹⁵ And God sent a messenger to Jerusalem to destroy it. And as he was about to destroy, Jehovah beheld and he relented of the evil and said to the destroying messenger, It is enough. Now halt your hand. And the messenger of Jehovah was standing by the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

⁷ Arise, O Jehovah. Save me, O my God. Because you have struck all my enemies upon the cheek bone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.

⁶ Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth. Break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Jehovah.

¹² And he will set up an ensign for the nations and will assemble the outcasts of Israel and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. ¹³ Also the envy of Ephraim will depart and those who besiege Judah will be cut off. Ephraim will not envy Judah and Judah will not besiege Ephraim. ¹⁴ And they will fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines on the west. Together they will despoil the sons of the east. They will put forth their hand upon Edom and Moab and the sons of Ammon will obey them.

²³ In that day there will be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria. And the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. ²⁴ In that day Israel will be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, ²⁵ in that Jehovah of hosts has blessed them, saying, Egypt my people is blessed and Assyria the work of my hands and Israel my inheritance.

²² The lord Jehovah says thus: Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations and set up my ensign to the peoples. And they will bring your sons in their bosom and your daughters will be carried upon their shoulders. ²³ And kings will be your nursing fathers and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth and lick the dust of your feet. And you will know that I am Jehovah and those who wait for me will not be put to shame.

¹⁴ And the sons of those who afflicted you will come bending to you. And all those who despised you will bow themselves down at the soles of your feet. And they will call you The city of Jehovah, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
¹⁵ Instead you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through you, I will make you an everlasting excellency, a joy of generations to generations. ¹⁶ You will also suck the milk of the nations and will suck the breast of kings. And you will know that I, Jehovah, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

⁴⁷ Yet I will bring back the captivity of Moab in the latter days, says Jehovah. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.

⁶ But afterward I will bring back the captivity of the sons of Ammon, says Jehovah.

³⁹ But it will happen in the latter days, that I will bring back the captivity of Elam, says Jehovah.

⁵⁷ before your wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria and of all who are all around her, the daughters of the Philistines, who do despite to you all around. ⁵⁸ You have borne your lewdness and your abominations, says Jehovah.
⁵⁹ For thus says the lord Jehovah: I will also deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
⁶⁰ Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth and I will establish to you an everlasting covenant. ⁶¹ Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed, when you will receive your sisters, your elder sisters and your younger and I will give them to you for daughters, but not by your covenant.

²³ Jehovah of hosts says thus: In those days, ten men will take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, We will go with you*, for we have heard that God is with you*.

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bondservant nor free man, there is no male and female; for you all are one in Christ Jesus.

¹ And Jacob went on his way and the messengers of God met him. ² And Jacob said when he saw them, This is God's camp. And he called the name of that place Mahanaim.

⁷ And Jehovah said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, because I know their sorrows.

⁹ And now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to me. Moreover I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.

¹² It may be that Jehovah will look on the wrong done to me and that Jehovah will reward me good for his cursing of me this day.

²⁹ In his days Pharaoh Neco King of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates and king Josiah went against him. And Pharaoh Neco killed him at Megiddo when he had seen him.

¹ In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up and Jehoiakim became his servant three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.

⁷ The messenger of Jehovah encamps all around those who fear him and delivers them.

¹ God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
² Therefore we will not fear, though the earth changes and though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas, ³ though the waters of it roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with the swelling of it. Selah.
⁴ There is a river, the streams of which make the city of God glad, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
⁵ God is in the midst of her. She will not be shaken. God will help her and that right early.

⁴ He will judge the poor of the people.
He will save the sons of the needy and will break in pieces the oppressor.

¹ Those who trust in Jehovah are as Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken, but abides everlasting. ² As the mountains are all around Jerusalem, so Jehovah is all around his people from this time forth and until forever.

⁵ And Jehovah will create over the whole habitation of Mount Zion and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night, for over all the glory, a covering.

¹ In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city. He will appoint salvation for walls and ramparts.

⁵ As birds hovering, so Jehovah of hosts will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and deliver. He will pass over and preserve.

²⁰ Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities. Your eyes will see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tent that will not be removed. The stakes of which will never be plucked up, nor will any of the cords of it be broken. ²¹ But Jehovah will be with us there in majesty. A place of broad rivers and streams, in which will go no galley with oars, nor will a gallant ship pass by it.
²² For Jehovah is our judge. Jehovah is our lawgiver. Jehovah is our king, he will save us.

¹ Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion. Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city. For hereafter there will no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.

¹² For you* will not go out in haste, nor will you* go by flight. For Jehovah will go before you* and the God of Israel will be your* rearward.

¹⁴ You will be established in righteousness. You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear and from terror, for it will not come near you.

¹⁸ Violence will no more be heard in your land, desolation nor destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.

¹² And they will come and sing in the height of Zion and will flow to the goodness of Jehovah, to the grain and to the new wine and to the oil and to the young of the flock and of the herd. And their soul will be as a watered garden and they will not sorrow any more at all.

² Of Egypt, concerning the army of Pharaoh Neco, King of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon killed* in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:

¹³ The word that Jehovah spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon should come and kill* the land of Egypt.

²⁴ And there will no more be a prickling brier to the house of Israel, nor a hurting thorn of any who are all around them, who did spite to them.
And they will know that I am the lord Jehovah.
²⁵ The lord Jehovah says thus: When I will have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered and will be made holy in them in the sight of the nations, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to my servant Jacob.

²⁹ nor will I hide my face any more from them. For I have poured out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, says the lord Jehovah.

⁶ And at the end of years they will join themselves together. And the daughter of the king of the south will come to the king of the north to make a smoothly agreement, but she will not retain the strength of her arm, nor will he stand, nor his arm. But she will be given up and also those who brought her and he who fathered her and he who strengthened her in those times.
⁷ But out of a shoot from her roots will a man stand up in his place, who will come to the army and will enter into the fortress of the king of the north and will deal against them and will prevail.

¹⁰ And his sons will war and will assemble a multitude of great forces, which will come on and overflow and pass through. And they will return and war, even to his fortress.
¹¹ And the king of the south will be moved with anger and will come out and fight with him, even with the king of the north. And he will set forth a great multitude and the multitude will be given into his hand. ¹² And the multitude will be lifted up and his heart will be exalted. And he will cast down tens of thousands, but he will not prevail.
¹³ And the king of the north will return and will set forth a multitude greater than the former and he will come on at the end of the times, even of years, with a great army and with much substance. ¹⁴ And in those times many will stand up against the king of the south. Also the sons of the violent among your people will lift themselves up to establish the vision, but they will fall.
¹⁵ So the king of the north will come and cast up a mound and take a well-fortified city. And the forces of the south will not stand, nor his chosen people. Neither will there be any strength to stand. ¹⁶ But he who comes against him will do according to his own will and none will stand before him. And he will stand in the glorious land and in his hand will be destruction.

²⁷ And as for both these kings, their hearts will be to do mischief and they will speak lies at one table. But it will not prosper, for yet the end will be at the time appointed. ²⁸ Then he will return into his land with great substance. And his heart will be against the holy covenant and he will do his pleasure and return to his own land.
²⁹ At the time appointed he will return and come into the south, but it will not be in the latter time as it was in the former.

⁴⁰ And at the time of the end, the king of the south will contend with him and the king of the north will come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots and with horsemen and with many ships and he will enter into the countries and will overflow and pass through.
⁴¹ He will also enter into the glorious land and many countries will be overthrown. But these will be delivered out of his hand: Edom and Moab and the chief of the sons of Ammon.
⁴² He will stretch forth his hand also upon the countries and the land of Egypt will not escape. ⁴³ But he will have power over the treasures of gold and of silver and over all the desirable things of Egypt. And the Libyans and the Ethiopians will be at his steps.
⁴⁴ But news out of the east and out of the north will trouble him and he will go forth with great fury to destroy and to utterly sweep away many. ⁴⁵ And he will plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain, yet he will come to his end and none will help him.

¹⁶ And Jehovah will roar from Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem and the heavens and the earth will shake. But Jehovah will be a refuge to his people and a stronghold to the sons of Israel.
¹⁷ So you* will know that I am Jehovah your* God, dwelling in Zion my holy mountain. Then Jerusalem will be holy and no strangers will pass through her any more.

¹⁵ And I will plant them upon their land and they will no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them, says Jehovah your God.

¹ And I lifted up my eyes and looked. And behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand. ² Then I said, Where do you go? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem. To see what is the breadth of it and what is the length of it.
³ And behold, the messenger who talked with me went forth. And another messenger went out to meet him, ⁴ and said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem will be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of men and cattle in it. ⁵ For I, says Jehovah, will be to her a wall of fire all around and I will be the glory in the midst of her.
⁶ Ho, ho, flee from the land of the north, says Jehovah. For I have spread you* abroad as the four winds of the heavens, says Jehovah. ⁷ Ho Zion, escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.
⁸ For Jehovah of hosts says thus: After glory he has sent me to the nations which plundered you*. For he who touches you* touches the apple of his eye. ⁹ For, behold, I will shake my hand over them and they will be a spoil to those who served them. And you* will know that Jehovah of hosts has sent me.
¹⁰ Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in the midst of you, says Jehovah. ¹¹ And many nations will join themselves to Jehovah in that day and will be my people and I will dwell in the midst of you. And you will know that Jehovah of hosts has sent me to you. ¹² And Jehovah will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will yet choose Jerusalem. ¹³ Be silent, all flesh, before Jehovah, for he has arisen out of his holy habitation.

⁸ In that day Jehovah will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And he who is feeble among them at that day will be as David and the house of David will be as God, as the messenger of Jehovah before them.

¹¹ And men will dwell in it and there will be no more curse, but Jerusalem will dwell safely.

³⁴ Having seen, I saw the mistreatment of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their groaning and I have come down to liberate them. And now come-here, I will be sending you into Egypt.

¹ And I saw a messenger coming down from heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. ² And he took-hold of the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and the Adversary, the one who is misleading the whole inhabited-earth and bound him a thousand years, ³ and cast him into the abyss and locked it and sealed it above him, in order that he may not mislead the nations anymore, till the thousand years might be completed. It is essential for him to be loosed for a little time after these things.

⁹ And they went up over the width of the earth and surrounded the encampment of the holy-ones and the beloved city and fire from God came down out of heaven and devoured them.

⁶ Yet I have set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

¹ My heart overflows with a good matter. I speak the things which I have made concerning the king. My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

⁶ Your throne, O God, is everlasting and forever. A scepter of straightness is the scepter of your kingdom. ⁷ You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your companions.

⁹ Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
¹⁰ Mercy and truth are met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. ¹¹ Truth springs out of the earth and righteousness has looked down from heaven.
¹² Yes, Jehovah will give what is good and our land will yield its increase.

⁶ The heavens declare his righteousness and all the peoples have seen his glory.
⁷ Let all those be put to shame who serve graven images, who boast themselves of idols. Bow yourselves to him, all you* gods.
⁸ Zion heard and was glad and the daughters of Judah rejoiced, because of your judgments, O Jehovah.

¹ Jehovah says to my Lord, Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool. ² Jehovah will send forth the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies. ³ Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power, in holy array. Out of the womb of the morning you have the dew of your youth.
⁴ Jehovah has sworn and will not repent. You are a everlasting priest after the order of Melchizedek.

⁶ For to us a child is born, to us a son is given. And the government will be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from hereafter until everlasting. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

⁶ Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Zion, for great in the midst of you is the Holy One of Israel.

¹ Behold, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule in justice. ² And a man will be as a hiding-place from the wind and a covert from the tempest, as streams of water in a dry place, as the shade of a great rock in a weary land.

⁹ O you who tell good news to Zion, get up on a high mountain. O you who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength. Lift it up, do not be afraid, say to the cities of Judah, Behold, your* God!

³ For I am Jehovah your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I have given Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your stead.

¹¹ I, even I, am Jehovah and besides me there is no savior.

²¹ Declare and bring it forth. Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has shown this from long-ago? Who has declared it long since? Have not I, Jehovah? And there is no other God besides me, a just God and a Savior. There is none besides me.

⁹ Break forth into joy, sing together, you* waste places of Jerusalem, for Jehovah has comforted his people. He has redeemed Jerusalem. ¹⁰ Jehovah has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations and all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

¹¹ Behold, Jehovah has proclaimed to the end of the earth, Say to the daughter of Zion, Behold, your salvation comes. Behold, his reward is with him and his recompense before him.

⁵ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch and he will reign as king and deal wisely and will execute justice and righteousness in the land. ⁶ In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will dwell safely. And this is his name by which he will be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

⁹ but they will serve Jehovah their God and David their king, whom I will raise up to them.

¹⁴ Sing, O daughter of Zion. Shout, O Israel. Be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. ¹⁵ Jehovah has taken away your judgments. He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, even Jehovah, is in the midst of you. You will not fear evil any more.

¹⁰ Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in the midst of you, says Jehovah.

²¹ Now she will be bearing a son, and you will call his name Jesus, for he will be saving his people from their sins.

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am meek and humble in heart and you will be finding rest for your souls.

⁴ Now this whole thing has happened, in order that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, ⁵ ‘Say to the daughter of Zion, Behold, your King is coming to you, meek and has been mounted upon a donkey and a colt, the son of a donkey.’ ⁶ Now the disciples having traveled and having done just-as Jesus commanded them, ⁷ they led the donkey and the colt and placed their garments upon them, and he sat upon them.

⁷ And they led the colt to Jesus and cast their garments upon it, and he sat upon it.

⁹ And those who precede him and those who followed him, were crying out, saying, Hosanna; he who comes in the name of the Lord has been blessed. ¹⁰ The kingdom which is coming in the name of the Lord of our father David has been blessed. Hosanna in the highest.

³⁰ saying, Go into the village in front of me; in which, traveling to it; you will find a colt that has been tied, on which no man has sat at any time. Lead it here; having loosed him. ³¹ And if anyone asks you, Why are you loosening him? You will say to him thus, The Lord has need of him. ³² Now those who have been sent went away, and found just-as he had said to them.
³³ And while loosening the colt, its lords said to them, Why are you loosening the colt?
³⁴ Now they said, The Lord has need of it. ³⁵ And they lead it to Jesus, and having tossed forth their own garments upon the colt, they mounted Jesus upon it. \ulnone\nosupersub

³⁷ Now as he was already drawing near, even to the slope of the Mountain of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began rejoicing, and to praise God with a loud voice concerning all the miracles which they had seen; ³⁸ saying, The King who is coming in the name of the Lord has been blessed; peace in heaven and glory in the highest.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and says to him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.

¹³ and they took the limbs of the palm trees and went forth to a meeting with him and was crying out, Hosanna. He who is coming in the name of the Lord has been blessed, the King of Israel.
¹⁴ Now Jesus, having found a young-donkey, sat upon it; as it has been written, ¹⁵ ‘Do not fear, daughter of Zion. Behold, your King is coming, sitting upon a donkey’s colt.’ ¹⁶ (But his disciples did not know these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they were reminded that these things had been written on the basis of him and that they had done these things to him.)

¹⁵ But they cried-out, Take him, take him, crucify him!
Pilate says to them, Shall I crucify your King?
The high-priests answered, We have no king except Caesar.

²⁴ All those who believe, being made righteous freely by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ whom God purposed as an atonement through the faith in his blood in an example of his righteousness, because of the passing over of the sins, having been done beforehand, ²⁶ (in the forbearance of God), even toward the example of his righteousness in this current time, that he may himself be righteous and who is making righteous the one from the faith of Jesus.

²⁴ Every place on which the sole of your* foot will tread will be yours*, from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the hinder sea will be your* border.

²¹ And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.

⁸ Ask of me and I will give you the nations as your inheritance and the outermost parts of the earth as your possession. ⁹ You will smash them with a rod of iron, you will dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
¹⁰ Now therefore be wise, O you* kings. Be instructed, you* judges of the earth. ¹¹ Serve Jehovah with fear and rejoice with trembling. ¹² Kiss the Son, lest he is angry and you* perish in the way, because his wrath will soon be kindled. All those who take refuge in him are fortunate.

³ The mountains will bring peace to the people and the hills, in righteousness.

⁷ In his days righteousness will flourish and abundance of peace, till the moon is no more.
⁸ He will also have dominion from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.
⁹ Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before him and his enemies will lick the dust.
¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will render tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts. ¹¹ Yes, all kings will fall down before him. All nations will serve him.

¹⁷ His name will endure everlasting. His name will be continued as long as the sun. And men will call him fortunate. All nations will call him fortunate.

¹ O sing to Jehovah a new song, because he has done marvelous things. His right hand and his holy arm, has worked salvation for him. ² Jehovah has made known his salvation. He has openly shown his righteousness in the sight of the nations.
³ He has remembered his loving kindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

¹⁰ And there will be a root of Jesse in that day and he who arises to rule over the Gentiles. In him will the Gentiles hope and his resting place will be glorious.

⁶ yes, he says, It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.

¹⁸ I have seen his ways and will heal him. I will lead him also and restore comforts to him and to his mourners. ¹⁹ I create the fruit of the lips. Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near, says Jehovah and I will heal him.

¹² For that nation and kingdom that will not serve you will perish. Yes, those nations will be utterly wasted.

⁷ But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah and will save them by Jehovah their God and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

¹⁸ And in that day I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and with the birds of the heavens and with the creeping things of the ground. And I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the land and will make them to lie down safely.

² And many nations will go and say, Come and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah and to the house of the God of Jacob and he will teach us of his ways and we will walk in his paths. For out of Zion will go forth the law and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.
³ And he will judge between many peoples and will decide concerning strong nations afar off. And they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning-hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, nor will they learn war any more.
⁴ But they will sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree and none will make them afraid. For the mouth of Jehovah of hosts has spoken it.

⁴ And he will stand and will feed his flock in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah his God and they will abide. For now he will be great to the ends of the earth.

¹⁰ And it will happen in that day, says Jehovah, that I will cut off your horses out of the midst of you and will destroy your chariots, ¹¹ and I will cut off the cities of your land and will throw down all your strongholds.

²² And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations. And I will overthrow the chariots and those who ride in them. And the horses and their riders will come down, each one by the sword of his brother.

⁴ From him will come out the cornerstone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler together. ⁵ And they will be as mighty men, treading down their enemies in the mud of the streets in the battle. And they will fight, because Jehovah is with them and the riders on horses will be confounded.

³⁶ The word which he sent to the sons of Israel, proclaiming the good-news of peace through Jesus Christ (this one is Lord of all).

⁹ and that the Gentiles are to glorify God on behalf of his mercy; as it has been written, ‘Because of this, I will profess you among the Gentiles and sing-praise to your name.’ ¹⁰ And again he says, ‘Gentiles be joyous with his people.’ ¹¹ And again, ‘Praise the Lord, all the Gentiles, and let all the peoples praise him.’ ¹² And again, Isaiah says, ‘There will be the root of Jesse and he who raised up to rule over the Gentiles; upon him the Gentiles will hope.’ ¹³ Now the God of hope may fill you with all joy and peace in the believing, that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ But all things are from God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ and gave the service of reconciliation to us;

²⁰ Therefore, we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ; as though God is encouraging you through us. We are beseeching you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but are mighty in God, toward the demolition of strongholds, ⁵ demolishing evil reasonings and every exalted thing which is lifting itself up against the knowledge of God and capturing every device of the Adversary to the obedience of the Christ;

¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who were previously from afar have become near to him in the blood of the Christ. ¹⁴ For he is our peace, who made us both one and tore-down the middle wall of the fence, ¹⁵ having done-away-with the hostility in his flesh, which is the Law of commandments in decrees; in order that he might create in himself the two into one new man, thus making peace; ¹⁶ and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility in himself. ¹⁷ And when he came, he proclaimed the good-news of peace to you who were from afar and peace to those who were near;

²⁰ and through him to reconcile all things to himself, whether things upon the earth or things upon the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross, through him. ²¹ And you were previously alienated and were enemies in mind, in evil works, but yet he reconciled you\super\'b0

¹⁵ And the seventh messenger sounded, and there became loud voices in heaven saying, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ and he will be reigning forevermore.

⁸ And Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people and said, Behold the blood of the covenant that Jehovah has made with you* concerning all these words.

³¹ But as for you, stand here by me and I will speak to you all the commandment and the statutes and the ordinances, which you will teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

¹³ And I, where shall I carry my shame? And as for you, you will be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I beseech you, speak to the king, because he will not withhold me from you.

¹⁷ And as for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked and do according to all that I have commanded you and will keep my statutes and mine ordinances,

³ O Jehovah, you have brought up my soul from Sheol. You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

² He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the muddy clay and he set my feet upon a rock and established my steps.

³³ Because Jehovah hears the needy and does not despise his prisoners.

¹⁹ Because he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary. From heaven Jehovah beheld the earth, ²⁰ to hear the sighing of the prisoner, to loose those who are appointed to death, ²¹ that men may declare the name of Jehovah in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem,

¹⁰ even those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron, ¹¹ because they rebelled against the words of God and scorned the counsel of the Most High.
¹² Therefore he brought down their heart with labor. They fell down and there was none to help.
¹³ Then they cried to Jehovah in their trouble and he saved them out of their distresses. ¹⁴ He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke their bonds apart.
¹⁵ O that men would praise Jehovah for his loving kindness and for his wonderful works to the sons of men!
¹⁶ Because he has broken the gates of brass and cut the bars of iron apart.

⁷ to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon and those who sit in darkness out of the prison-house.

²² But this is a people robbed and plundered. They are all of them snared in holes and they are hid in prison-houses. They are for a prey and none delivers, for a spoil and none says, Restore.

⁹ saying to those who are bound, Go forth; to those who are in darkness, Show yourselves. They will feed in the ways and their pasture will be on all bare heights.

¹⁴ The captive exile will speedily be loosed and he will not die in the pit, nor will his bread fail.

¹² And those who will be of you will build the old waste places. You will raise up the foundations of generations and generations and you will be called The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

¹ The Spirit of the lord Jehovah is upon me, because Jehovah has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind and the opening of bonds to those who are bound,

⁶ Then they took Jeremiah and cast him into the pit of Malchijah the king's son, that was in the court of the guard. And they let Jeremiah down with cords. And in the pit there was no water, but mud and Jeremiah sank in the mud.

²⁹ As for you, O king, your thoughts came upon your bed, what should happen hereafter. And he who reveals secrets has made known to you what will happen.

²⁸ for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out on behalf of many into the forgiveness of sins.

²⁴ And he said to them, This is my blood, the blood of the new covenant, which is poured out concerning many.

¹⁸ ‘ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, in that, he anointed me to proclaim the good-news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the crushed in heart, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth the downtrodden in deliverance,

²⁴ And having shouted, he said, Father Abraham, show-mercy to me, and send Lazarus in order that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and may cool my tongue, because I am in anguish in this flame.

²⁰ And likewise, he took the cup after the supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out on your behalf.

¹⁷ I will be liberating you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, ¹⁸ to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of the Adversary to God, in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance among those who have been made holy in faith, the faith in me.

²⁵ Likewise also the cup, after the supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Practice this in my remembrance whenever you drink it.

¹³ He rescued us out of the authority of darkness and transplanted us into the kingdom of the Son of his love; ¹⁴ in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins,

¹⁰ being only fleshly ordinances, (upon the basis of foods, drinks and assorted ceremonial washings), laid upon us till a time of reformation.
¹¹ But Christ came as a high-priest of the future good things, through the greater and more complete tabernacle, not made with hands, that is, not of this creation, ¹² nor through the blood of male-goats and calves, but through his own blood, entered in once for all into the holy of holies, having found everlasting redemption. ¹³ For if the blood of male-goats and oxen and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling those who have been desecrated, makes one holy toward the cleanness of the flesh; ¹⁴ how much more the blood of Christ, (who through the everlasting Spirit offered himself unblemished to God), will be cleansing your conscience from dead works, that you may give-divine service to the living God.
¹⁵ And because of this, he is the intermediary of a new covenant, that his death having happened for the redemption of the transgressions that were against the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the everlasting inheritance. ¹⁶ For where there is a covenant, it is a necessity for the death of the one who covenanted it to be brought about. ¹⁷ For a covenant is steadfast upon death; since it is never enforced when he who covenanted it is living. ¹⁸ Hence even the first covenant has not been inaugurated without blood. ¹⁹ For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the law, and when he took the blood of the calves and the male-goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, he sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, ²⁰ saying, ‘This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded toward you.’ ²¹ Now likewise, he also sprinkled the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry in the blood. ²² And according to the law, I may say, almost all things are cleansed in blood and no forgiveness happens without the shedding of blood.
²³ Therefore indeed, it was a necessity that the copies of the things in the heavens are to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. ²⁴ For the Christ did not enter into a holy-places made with hands, counterparts to the true one, but into heaven itself, now to be manifested before the face of God on our behalf. ²⁵ Nor did he enter in order that he should offer himself often, just-like the high-priest enters into the holy-places every year with another’s blood; ²⁶ since often it was essential for him to suffer from the conception of the world, but now once for all upon the end of the ages, he has been manifested for the nullifying of sin through the sacrifice of himself.

²⁹ How much worse punishment, do you think he will be deemed worthy of, after having trampled under foot the Son of God, and having deemed the blood of the covenant in which he was made holy as common, and having insulted the Spirit of the grace?

²⁰ Now the God of peace, who brought up the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus, from the dead in the blood of an everlasting covenant,

³ and cast him into the abyss and locked it and sealed it above him, in order that he may not mislead the nations anymore, till the thousand years might be completed. It is essential for him to be loosed for a little time after these things.

¹⁰ And Jehovah turned back the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. And Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before.

¹⁸ For Sheol cannot praise you, death cannot celebrate you. Those who go down into the pit cannot hope for your truth.

² Speak comfortably to Jerusalem and cry to her, that her warfare has been completed, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of Jehovah's hand double for all her sins.

² Shake yourself from the dust. Arise, sit up, O Jerusalem. Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

⁷ Instead of your* shame you * will have double and instead of dishonor they will rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double. Everlasting joy will be to them.

⁶ For there will be a day that the watchmen upon the hills of Ephraim will cry, Arise and let us go up to Zion to Jehovah our God.

¹⁷ And there is hope for your latter end, says Jehovah and your sons will come again to their own border.

⁴ In those days and in that time, says Jehovah, the sons of Israel will come, they and the sons of Judah together. They will go on their way weeping and will seek Jehovah their God. ⁵ They will inquire concerning Zion with their faces toward it, saying, Come and join yourselves to Jehovah in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.

²⁸ The voice of those who flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of Jehovah our God, the vengeance of his temple.

¹⁰ Jehovah has brought out our righteousness. Come and let us declare in Zion the work of Jehovah our God.

²¹ This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope: ²² It is of Jehovah's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassions do not fail.

¹¹ Then he said to me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are dried up and our hope is lost. We are clean cut off.

¹⁵ And I will give her, her vineyards from there and the valley of Achor for a door of hope. And she will make answer there, as in the days of her youth and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

¹⁶ And Jehovah will roar from Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem and the heavens and the earth will shake. But Jehovah will be a refuge to his people and a stronghold to the sons of Israel.

⁸ And you, O tower of the flock, the hill of the daughter of Zion, to you it will come. Yes, the former dominion will come, the kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem.

⁷ Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble and he knows those who take refuge in him.

¹⁸ in order that through two unchangeable matters, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge, to take-hold of the hope that lays before us.

³² the God who girds me with strength and makes my way perfect? ³³ He makes my feet like the feet of female-deers and sets me upon my high places. ³⁴ He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of brass.
³⁵ You have also given me the shield of your salvation and your right hand has held me up and your gentleness has made me great.

³ Gird your sword upon your thigh, O mighty one, your glory and your majesty.

² both low and high, rich and poor together. ³ My mouth will speak wisdom and the meditation of my heart will be of understanding.
⁴ I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will open my dark saying upon the harp. ⁵ Why should I fear in the days of evil, when iniquity at my heels encompasses me about?
⁶ Those who trust in their wealth and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches, ⁷ none can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him ⁸ (for the redemption of their life is costly and it fails everlasting), ⁹ that he should still live always, that he should not see corruption.

¹ Praise Jehovah, my rock, who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight,

⁶ The high praises of God are in their mouth and a two-edged sword in their hand

¹⁵ Behold, I have made you as a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth. You will thresh the mountains and beat them small and will make the hills as chaff. ¹⁶ You will winnow them and the wind will carry them away and the whirlwind will scatter them. And you will rejoice in Jehovah. You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.

² And he has made my mouth like a sharp sword. He has hid me in the shadow of his hand and he has made me a polished shaft. He has kept me close in his quiver.

²⁰ You are my battle-axe and weapons of war. And with you I will smash the nations and with you I will destroy kingdoms,

² The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how they are esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!

²¹ And the rough male-goat is the king of Greece. And the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. ²² And as for what was broken, in the place of which four stood up, four kingdoms will stand up out of the nation, but not with his power.
²³ And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to the full, a king of fierce countenance and understanding hidden things, will stand up. ²⁴ And his power will be mighty, but not by his own power and he will destroy amazingly and will prosper and do his pleasure. And he will destroy the mighty ones and the holy people.
²⁵ And through his policy he will cause deceit to prosper in his hand and he will magnify himself in his heart. And he will destroy many in their security. He will also stand up against the Prince of princes, but he will be broken without a hand.

³² And he will pervert by flatteries such as do wickedly against the covenant. But the people who know their God will be strong and do exploits. ³³ And those who are wise among the people will instruct many, yet they will fall by the sword and by flame, by captivity and by spoil, many days.
³⁴ Now when they will fall, they will be helped with a little help, but many will join themselves to them with flatteries.

¹¹ And I raised up of your* sons for prophets and of your* young men for Nazirites.
Is it not even thus, O you* sons of Israel? says Jehovah.

²¹ And saviors will come up on Mount Zion to judge the mountain of Esau and the kingdom will be Jehovah's.

² And many nations will go and say, Come and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah and to the house of the God of Jacob and he will teach us of his ways and we will walk in his paths. For out of Zion will go forth the law and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.
³ And he will judge between many peoples and will decide concerning strong nations afar off. And they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning-hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, nor will they learn war any more.

⁴ And he will stand and will feed his flock in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah his God and they will abide. For now he will be great to the ends of the earth. ⁵ And this man will be our peace.
When the Assyrian will come into our land and when he will tread in our palaces, then we will raise against him seven shepherds and eight principal men. ⁶ And they will waste the land of Assyria with the sword and the land of Nimrod in the entrances of it. And he will deliver us from the Assyrian, when he comes into our land and when he treads within our border.
⁷ And the remnant of Jacob will be in the midst of many peoples as dew from Jehovah, as showers upon the grass, that do not abide for man, nor wait for the sons of men. ⁸ And the remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who, if he goes through, treads down and tears in pieces and there is none to deliver.
⁹ Let your hand be lifted up above your adversaries and let all your enemies be cut off.

²¹ Then I said, What are these coming to do? And he spoke, saying, These are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man lifted up his head. But these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations, which lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.

³ My anger is kindled against the shepherds and I will punish the male-goats. For Jehovah of hosts has visited his flock, the house of Judah and will make them as his majestic horse in the battle. ⁴ From him will come out the cornerstone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler together. ⁵ And they will be as mighty men, treading down their enemies in the mud of the streets in the battle. And they will fight, because Jehovah is with them and the riders on horses will be confounded.
⁶ And I will strengthen the house of Judah and I will save the house of Joseph and I will bring them back. For I have mercy upon them and they will be as though I had not cast them off. For I am Jehovah their God and I will hear them. ⁷ And Ephraim will be like a mighty man and their heart will rejoice as through wine. Yes, their sons will see it and rejoice. Their heart will be glad in Jehovah.

² Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of reeling to all the peoples all around and upon Judah also it will be in the siege against Jerusalem.
³ And it will happen in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples. All who burden themselves with it will be severely wounded. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered together against it.
⁴ In that day, says Jehovah, I will kill* every horse with terror and his rider with madness. And I will open my eyes upon the house of Judah and will kill* every horse of the peoples with blindness.
⁵ And the chieftains of Judah will say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in Jehovah of hosts their God. ⁶ In that day I will make the chieftains of Judah like a pan of fire among wood and like a flaming torch among sheaves. And they will devour all the peoples all around, on the right hand and on the left and Jerusalem will yet again dwell in their own place, even in Jerusalem.
⁷ Jehovah also will save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem not be magnified above Judah.
⁸ In that day Jehovah will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And he who is feeble among them at that day will be as David and the house of David will be as God, as the messenger of Jehovah before them.

¹⁵ And he said to them, When you travel into all the world, preach the good-news to all creation. ¹⁶ He who believes and is immersed will be saved, but he who disbelieves will be condemned.
¹⁷ Now these signs will be following those who have believed: they will be casting out demons in my name; they will be speaking in new languages; ¹⁸ they will be lifting up serpents and even if they drink anything deadly, it may never harm them; they will lay hands upon the sick and they will be well.

¹⁹ Therefore indeed, the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. ²⁰ Now those apostles went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working together with them, and confirming the word through the signs that followed. Amen.

¹⁶ that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, having done the sacred work of the good-news of God, in order that the offering up of the Gentiles might become acceptable, having been made holy in the Holy Spirit.
¹⁷ Therefore, I have my boasting in Christ Jesus in the things pertaining to God. ¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of anything of the things which Christ did not work through me, except for the obedience of the Gentiles, in word and works, ¹⁹ in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God. So-then, I have fulfilled the good-news of the Christ from Jerusalem and in a circle, as far as Illyricum. ²⁰ And so, I am making it my aim to proclaim the good-news, not where Christ was already named, in order that I might not build upon another’s foundation;

²¹ For since, in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know God, it delighted God through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe. ²² Since both Jews ask for a sign and Greeks seek wisdom; ²³ but we preach Christ as having been crucified, indeed an offense to the Jews, but foolishness to the Greeks; ²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. ²⁵ Because the foolish things of God are wiser than men, and the weakness of God is mightier than men.
²⁶ For you see your calling brethren, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble. ²⁷ But God chose the foolish things of the world, in order that he might shame the wise, and God chose the weak things of the world, in order that he might shame the strong; ²⁸ and God chose the ignoble things of the world and the things which have been scorned and the things which are not, in order that he might do-away-with the things which are;

³ For although we are walking in the flesh, we are not warring according to the flesh.

¹⁷ also able to accept the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,

⁷ I have fought the good fight. I have completed the course. I have kept the faith.

¹² For the word of God is living and effective and sharper beyond that of any two edged sword and is penetrating till the division of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow and is a judge of the contemplations and deliberations of the heart.

¹⁶ And he has in his right hand seven stars and a sharp two edged long-sword traveled out from his mouth and his appearance was as the sun appears in its power.

¹² And write to the messenger of the congregation in Pergamus:
He who has the sharp two edged long-sword says these things:

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb and the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those called and chosen and faithful with him.

¹⁵ And a sharp two edged long-sword travels out from his mouth, in order that he might strike the nations with it and he will shepherd them with an iron rod and he tramples on the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God, the Almighty.

²¹ And the rest were killed with the long-sword of the one who sits upon the horse, which came forth out of his mouth and all the birds were fed from their flesh.

²⁴ And it happened in the morning watch, that Jehovah looked forth upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of cloud and troubled the army of the Egyptians. ²⁵ And he took off their chariot wheels and they drove them with difficulty, so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel, because Jehovah fights for them against the Egyptians.

⁴ And seven priests will bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark. And the seventh day you* will encompass the city seven times and the priests will blow the trumpets. ⁵ And it will be, that, when they make a prolonged blast with the ram's horn and when you* hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people will shout with a great shout. And the wall of the city will fall down flat and the people will go up every man straight before him.

¹¹ And it happened, as they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth-horon, that Jehovah cast down great stones from heaven upon them to Azekah and they died. More died with the hailstones than those whom the sons of Israel killed with the sword.
¹² Then Joshua spoke to Jehovah in the day when Jehovah delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel. And he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand still upon Gibeon and you, Moon, in the valley of Aijalon.
¹³ And the sun stood still and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Is this not written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stayed in the midst of heaven and hastened not to go down about a whole day. ¹⁴ And there was no day like that before it or after it, that Jehovah listened to the voice of a man, for Jehovah fought for Israel.

⁴² And all these kings and their land Joshua took at one time, because Jehovah, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.

¹⁴ And he sent out his arrows and scattered them, Yes, lightnings shot out and confused them.

³ Gird your sword upon your thigh, O mighty one, your glory and your majesty. ⁴ And in your majesty ride on prosperously because of truth and gentleness and righteousness. And your right hand will teach you awesome things.
⁵ Your arrows are sharp. The peoples fall under you. They are in the heart of the king's enemies.

¹⁷ The clouds poured out water. The skies sent out a sound. Your arrows also went abroad.
¹⁸ The voice of your thunder was in the whirlwind. The lightnings lightened the world. The earth trembled and shook.

⁵ Bow your heavens, O Jehovah and come down. Touch the mountains and they will smoke. ⁶ Cast forth lightning and scatter them. Send out your arrows and confuse them.

³ All you* inhabitants of the world and you* dwellers on the earth, when an ensign is lifted up on the mountains, see you* and when the trumpet is blown, hear you*.

¹ The burden of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the South sweep through, it comes from the wilderness, from a terrible land.

¹³ And it will happen in that day, that a great trumpet will be blown. And they will come who were ready to perish in the land of Assyria and those who were outcasts in the land of Egypt. And they will worship Jehovah in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

³⁰ And Jehovah will cause his glorious voice to be heard and will show the coming down of his arm with the indignation of his anger and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast and tempest and hailstones.

¹⁵ For, behold, Jehovah will come with fire and his chariots will be like the whirlwind, to render his anger with fierceness and his rebuke with flames of fire.

¹¹ The sun and moon stood still in their habitation, at the light of your arrows as they went, at the shining of your glittering spear.

⁵ For I, says Jehovah, will be to her a wall of fire all around and I will be the glory in the midst of her.

³ Then Jehovah will go forth and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things, as many things as I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the earth.
Amen.

¹⁰ Let it be known to you all here and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised up from the dead; in him, this one who is standing in your sight is healthy. ¹¹ He is, ‘The stone scorned by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’

¹⁹ in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God. So-then, I have fulfilled the good-news of the Christ from Jerusalem and in a circle, as far as Illyricum.

⁴ God was testifying together with them, both by signs and by wonders and by various powers and by distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will.

² And behold a white horse and he who sits upon it holding a bow, and a crown was given to him and he came forth overcoming and in order that he might overcome.

² And you will make the horns of it upon the four corners of it. The horns of it will be of one piece with it and you will overlay it with brass.

⁷ And the priest will put of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Jehovah, which is in the tent of meeting and all the blood of the bullock he will pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.

¹⁸ And he will put of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before Jehovah, that is in the tent of meeting and all the blood he will pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.

²⁵ And the priest will take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering and the blood of it he will pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering.

⁴⁵ Then David said to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of Jehovah of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

⁶⁵ Then the Lord awoke as out of sleep, like a mighty man who shouts because of wine.

⁴ Draw to me, we will run after you. The king has brought me into his chambers. We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will make mention of your love more than of wine. They love you in uprightness.

¹ I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride. I have gathered my myrrh with my spice. I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey. I have drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, O friends. Drink, yes. Drink abundantly, O beloved.

⁹ and your mouth like the best wine, that goes down smoothly for my beloved, gliding through the lips and teeth.

³⁵ For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for my servant David's sake.

¹ Ho, everyone who thirsts, come you* to the waters. And he who has no money, come you*, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

⁸ And the remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who, if he goes through, treads down and tears in pieces and there is none to deliver.

¹⁷ For how great is his goodness and how great is his beauty! Grain will make the young men flourish and new wine the virgins.

⁵ And they will be as mighty men, treading down their enemies in the mud of the streets in the battle. And they will fight, because Jehovah is with them and the riders on horses will be confounded.

⁷ And Ephraim will be like a mighty man and their heart will rejoice as through wine. Yes, their sons will see it and rejoice. Their heart will be glad in Jehovah.

⁶ In that day I will make the chieftains of Judah like a pan of fire among wood and like a flaming torch among sheaves. And they will devour all the peoples all around, on the right hand and on the left and Jerusalem will yet again dwell in their own place, even in Jerusalem.

²⁰ In that day there will be upon the bells of the horses, HOLY TO JEHOVAH and the pots in Jehovah's house will be like the bowls before the altar.

¹³ But others sneering, were saying, They are full of new-wine.

¹⁴ But Peter, standing up together with the eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke out to them, saying, Men, Jews and all you who are dwelling in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and notice my words. ¹⁵ For these men are not drunken, as you take it to be; for it is only the third hour of the day. ¹⁶ But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel, ¹⁷ God says, ‘And it will be in the last days, I will pour out from My Spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters will prophesy and your young-men will see visions and your elderly-men will dream dreams. ¹⁸ For-sure, I will pour out of my Spirit upon my male bondservants and upon my female bondservants in those days, and they will prophesy.

¹⁸ For the account of the cross is indeed foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are saved–it is the power of God.

¹⁸ And do not be drunken with wine, in which there is riotousness, but be filled in the Spirit;

¹³ And he has been dressed in a garment, having been dipped in blood and his name is called The Word of God. ¹⁴ And the armies which are in heaven were following him upon white horses, having clothed themselves in fine-linen, white and clean. ¹⁵ And a sharp two edged long-sword travels out from his mouth, in order that he might strike the nations with it and he will shepherd them with an iron rod and he tramples on the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God, the Almighty. ¹⁶ And he has upon his garment and upon his thigh a name has been written, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
¹⁷ And I saw a messenger standing in the sun, and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid-heaven, Come-here. Be gathered together to the great supper of God; ¹⁸ in order that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit upon them and the flesh of all men, both free men and bondservants and both the little and the great.
¹⁹ And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies, have been gathered together to make a war with the one who sits upon the horse and with his army. ²⁰ And the beast was clutched and with him the false prophet who made the signs in his sight, in which he misled those who had received the mark of the beast and those who are worshiping his image. The two were cast while living into the lake of fire which is burning in brimstone. ²¹ And the rest were killed with the long-sword of the one who sits upon the horse, which came forth out of his mouth and all the birds were fed from their flesh.

³ Know that Jehovah, he is God. It is he who has made us and we are his. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture.

¹⁰ And there will be a root of Jesse in that day and he who arises to rule over the Gentiles. In him will the Gentiles hope and his resting place will be glorious.
¹¹ And it will happen in that day, that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, who will remain, from Assyria and from Egypt and from Pathros and from Cush and from Elam and from Shinar and from Hamath and from the islands of the sea. ¹² And he will set up an ensign for the nations and will assemble the outcasts of Israel and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

¹⁰ Behold, the lord Jehovah will come as a mighty one and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him and his recompense before him.

³ And nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising.

¹⁴ And the sons of those who afflicted you will come bending to you. And all those who despised you will bow themselves down at the soles of your feet. And they will call you The city of Jehovah, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

³ You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of Jehovah and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

³ And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them again to their folds and they will be fruitful and multiply.

¹¹ For Jehovah has ransomed Jacob and redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.

²² therefore I will save my flock and they will no more be a prey. And I will judge between sheep and sheep.
²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them and he will feed them, even my servant David. He will feed them and he will be their shepherd. ²⁴ And I, Jehovah, will be their God and my servant David ruler among them. I, Jehovah, have spoken it.
²⁵ And I will make a covenant of peace with them and will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land and they will dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. ²⁶ And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing and I will cause the shower to come down in its season; there will be showers of blessing.

³¹ And you* my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are men and I am your* God, says the lord Jehovah.

¹⁴ Feed your people with your rod, the flock of your heritage, which dwell solitarily in the forest in the midst of Carmel. Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

²⁰ At that time I will bring you* in and at that time I will gather you*. For I will make you* a name and a praise among all the peoples of the earth when I bring back your* captivity before your* eyes, says Jehovah.

²³ In that day, says Jehovah of hosts, I will take you, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, says Jehovah and will make you as a signet. For I have chosen you, says Jehovah of hosts.

³² Do not fear, little flock, because your Father was delighted to give you the kingdom.

²⁷ My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they are following me,

² Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising the oversight, not by compulsion, but willfully, nor covetously, but eagerly; ³ nor like one lording it over his inheritances, but by becoming examples to the flock. ⁴ And when the Chief-Shepherd is made manifest, you will be getting the unfading crown of glory.

¹¹ Who is like you, O Jehovah, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

¹⁹ O how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you before the sons of men!

⁷ How precious is your loving kindness, O God and the sons of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings.

² You are fairer than the sons of men. Favor is poured into your lips. Therefore God has blessed you everlasting.

² Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth.

⁵ Because you, Lord, are good and ready to forgive and abundant in loving kindness to all those who call upon you.

¹⁵ But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness and truth.

¹⁷ And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us. And establish the work of our hands upon us, yes, the work of our hands establish it.

⁷ They will pour out the memory of your great goodness and will sing of your righteousness.

¹⁰ My beloved is white and ruddy, the chief among ten thousand.

¹⁷ Your eyes will see the king in his beauty. They will behold a land that reaches afar.

⁸ Jehovah has sworn by his right hand and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give your grain to be food for your enemies and foreigners will not drink your new wine, for which you have labored. ⁹ But those who have garnered it will eat it and praise Jehovah. And those who have gathered it will drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.

⁷ I will make mention of the loving kindnesses of Jehovah, and the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah has bestowed on us and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he has bestowed on them according to his mercies and according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

¹⁵ Look down from heaven and behold from the habitation of your holiness and of your glory. Where are your zeal and your mighty acts? The yearning of your heart and your compassions are restrained toward me.

¹³ Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah, Behold, my servants will eat, but you* will be hungry. Behold, my servants will drink, but you* will be thirsty. Behold, my servants will rejoice, but you* will be put to shame. ¹⁴ Behold, my servants will sing for joy of heart, but you* will cry for sorrow of heart and will wail for vexation of spirit.

²¹ And it will happen in that day, I will answer, says Jehovah. I will answer the heavens and they will answer the earth, ²² and the earth will answer the grain and the new wine and the oil and they will answer Jezreel.

²⁶ And you* will eat in plenty and be satisfied. And will praise the name of Jehovah your* God, who has dealt wondrously with you*. And my people will never be put to shame.

¹⁸ And it will happen in that day, that the mountains will drop down sweet wine and the hills will flow with milk and all the brooks of Judah will flow with waters. And a fountain will come out from the house of Jehovah and will water the valley of Shittim.

¹¹ Behold, the days come, says the lord Jehovah, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of Jehovah. ¹² And they will wander from sea to sea and from the north even to the east. They will run to and fro to seek the word of Jehovah and will not find it. ¹³ In that day the fair virgins and the young men will faint for thirst.
¹⁴ Those who swear by the sin of Samaria and say, As your god, O Dan, lives, and, As the way of Beer-sheba lives, they will fall and never rise up again.

¹³ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that the plowman will overtake the reaper and the treader of grapes he who draws seed and the mountains will drop sweet wine and all the hills will melt.
¹⁴ And I will bring back the captivity of my people Israel and they will build the waste cities and inhabit them and they will plant vineyards and drink the wine of it. They will also make gardens and eat the fruit of them.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh and resided among us (and we saw his glory, glory like that of the only begotten from the Father), full of favor and truth.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, in order that everyone who believes in him might not perish, but may have everlasting life.

⁸ But God is establishing his own love toward us, in that when we were still sinners, Christ died on our behalf.

²⁰ But the law entered in beside us, in order that the trespass might increase, but where sin increased, the favor over-abounded;

⁴ in whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the illumination of the good-news of the glory of the Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn for them. ⁵ For we are not preaching ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord and ourselves as your bondservants because of Jesus. ⁶ Because it is God, who said, ‘Illumination shine’out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁷ in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses according to the riches of his grace. ⁸ The grace which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, because of his much love with which he loved us, ⁵ even when we were dead through our trespasses, he made us alive together with the Christ; you are saved in his grace.

¹⁸ having been rooted and having been founded in love, in order that you may have strength to grab, together with all the holy-ones, of what is the width and length and depth and height, ¹⁹ and to know the love of the Christ which surpasses knowledge, in order that you may be filled to all the fullness of God.

¹⁸ And do not be drunken with wine, in which there is riotousness, but be filled in the Spirit; ¹⁹ speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and singing-praise in your heart to the Lord;

⁴ But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love of mankind had appeared: ⁵ he saved us (not from any works done in righteousness, which we practiced), but according to his mercy, through the full-washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior; ⁷ in order that we might become heirs according to the hope of everlasting life, having been made righteous in that grace.

⁸ He who does not love, does not know God, because God is love. ⁹ In this, the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world in order that we might live through him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atonement on behalf of our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

¹² saying in a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb who has been slaughtered to receive the power and the riches, and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and thanks. ¹³ And every created thing which is in the heaven and upon the earth and underneath the earth and upon the sea and all things in them, I heard saying, To the one who is sitting upon the throne and to the Lamb, is the thanks and the honor and the glory and the dominion, forevermore. Amen.
¹⁴ And the four living creatures are saying the amen; and the elders fell down and worshiped him.
