²⁰ Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but joy is to the counselors of peace.
²¹ There will no mischief happen to a righteous man, but the wicked will be filled with evil.
²² Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah, but those who deal truly are his delight.
²³ A prudent man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.
²⁴ The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slothful will be put under forced-labor.
²⁵ Heaviness in the heart of a man makes it droop, but a good word makes it glad.
²⁶ A righteous man is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked makes them go-astray.
²⁷ The slothful man roasts not what he took in hunting, but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
²⁸ Life is in the way of righteousness and in the pathway of it there is no death.

⁹ Do not become as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding, whose trappings must be a bit and bridle to hold them in, else they will not come near to you.

⁶ A stupid man does not know, nor does a fool understand this.

²⁷ Make me to understand the way of your precepts, so I will meditate on your wondrous works.

⁹⁷ O how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.
⁹⁸ Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, because they are everlasting with me. ⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers, because your testimonies are my meditation. ¹⁰⁰ I understand more than the aged because I have kept your precepts.

¹⁰ Because wisdom will enter into your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul, ¹¹ discretion will watch over you, understanding will keep you,

¹² and say, How I have hated instruction and my heart despised reproof. ¹³ Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!

¹⁷ I love those who love me and those who seek me diligently will find me.

³² Now therefore, you* sons, listen to me. For those who keep my ways are fortunate.

⁷ He who disciplines a scoffer gets himself reviling. And he who reproves a wicked man gets himself a bruise. ⁸ Reprove not a scoffer, lest he hate you.
Reprove a wise man and he will love you.

¹⁰ There is grievous correction for him who forsakes the way. He who hates reproof will die.

¹ He who desires to separate himself seeks excuses and rages against all sound-wisdom.

³ The ox knows his owner and the donkey his master's crib, but Israel does not know; my people does not consider.

¹⁰ and in all deception of unrighteousness in those who are perishing, because they did not accept the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

¹⁵ The nations are sunk down in the pit that they made. In the net which they hid, their own foot is taken.

⁵ It is well with the man who deals graciously and lends. He will maintain his cause in judgment,

³¹ Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way and be filled with their own devices.

¹⁸ a heart that devises wicked purposes, feet that are swift in running to mischief,

³⁵ Because he who finds me finds life and will obtain favor of Jehovah.

⁸ There is no man who has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, nor has he power over the day of death. And there is no discharge in war. Neither will wickedness deliver he who is given to it.

⁵ The fool will no more be called noble, nor the churl said to be bountiful.
⁶ For the fool will do senselessness and his heart will work wickedness, to practice profaneness and to utter error against Jehovah, to make empty the soul of the hungry and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. ⁷ And the instruments of the churl are evil. He devises wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.

²⁴ because he was a good man and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and a considerable crowd was added to the Lord.

⁷ For scarcely will one die on behalf of a righteous man; for perhaps someone might even dare to die on behalf of the good man.

³³ and your discretion is blessed and you are blessed, who have kept me this day from blood guiltiness and from avenging myself with my own hand.

³ I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation. ⁴ His sons are far from safety and they are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them, ⁵ whose harvest the hungry eat up and takes it even out of the thorns and the snare pants for their substance.

²⁹ He will not be rich, neither will his substance continue, neither will their possessions be extended on the earth.

⁵ that the triumphing of the wicked is short and the joy of the profane but for a moment? ⁶ Though his height mounts up to the heavens and his head reaches to the clouds, ⁷ yet he will perish forever like his own manure. Those who have seen him will say, Where is he? ⁸ He will fly away as a dream and will not be found. Yes, he will be chased away as a vision of the night. ⁹ The eye which saw him will see him no more, neither will his place any more behold him.

¹⁶ Though he heaps up silver as the dust and prepares garments as the clay, ¹⁷ he may prepare it, but the just will put it on and the innocent will divide the silver. ¹⁸ He builds his house as the moth and as a booth which the keeper makes.

⁵ he who puts not his money out to interest, nor takes a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things will not be shaken everlasting.

¹ Those who trust in Jehovah are as Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken, but abides everlasting. ² As the mountains are all around Jerusalem, so Jehovah is all around his people from this time forth and until forever.

²⁵ When the whirlwind passes, the wicked man is no more, but the righteous man is an everlasting foundation.

¹² A wicked man desires the net of evil men, but the root of the righteous gives.

¹⁷ for the Christ to dwell in your hearts through the faith,

⁷ having been rooted and being built up in him and being confirmed in the faith, just-as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

¹ Every wise woman builds her house, but a foolish woman plucks it down with her own hands.

³⁰ A tranquil heart is the life of the flesh, but envy is the rottenness of the bones.

¹³ A foolish son is the calamity of his father and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
¹⁴ House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Jehovah.

⁹ It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a contentious woman in a wide house.

¹⁹ It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a contentious and angry woman.

¹⁵ A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike. ¹⁶ He who would restrain her restrains the wind and his right hand encounters oil.

¹⁰ A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies. ¹¹ The heart of her husband trusts in her and he will have no lack of gain. ¹² She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.
¹³ She seeks wool and flax and works willingly with her hands. ¹⁴ She is like the merchant ships: she brings her bread from afar.
¹⁵ She also rises while it is yet night and gives food to her household and their task to her maidens.
¹⁶ She considers a field and buys it. She plants a vineyard with the fruit of her hands.
¹⁷ She girds her loins with strength and makes her arms strong. ¹⁸ She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out by night.
¹⁹ She lays her hands to the distaff and her hands hold the spindle.
²⁰ She stretches out her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches forth her hands to the needy.
²¹ She is not afraid of the snow for her household, because all her household are clothed with scarlet.
²² She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
²³ Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land.
²⁴ She makes linen garments and sells them and delivers belts to the merchant.
²⁵ Strength and dignity are her clothing and she laughs at the time to come.

¹⁶ I heard and my body trembled. My lips quivered at the voice. Rottenness enters into my bones and I tremble in my place, because I must wait quietly for the day of trouble, for the coming up of the people who invade us.

⁷ For a man indeed ought not to have his head veiled, being that he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of the man.

¹¹ However, neither is the man separate from the woman, nor the woman separate from the man, in the Lord.

² They speak falsehood everyone with his neighbor. They speak with a flattering lip and with a double heart. ³ Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaks great things,

² Because he flatters himself in his own eyes, that his iniquity will not be found out and be hated.
³ The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit. He has ceased to be wise and to do good. ⁴ He devises iniquity upon his bed. He sets himself in a way that is not good. He does not reject evil.

⁶ And if he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood. His heart gathers wickness to itself. When he goes abroad, he tells it.
⁷ All who hate me whisper together against me. Against me they devise my hurt.

¹⁵ I will meditate on your precepts and have respect for your ways.

²³ Search me, O God and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts,

¹ Deliver me, O Jehovah, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man, ² and men who devise mischievous things in their heart. They gather themselves continually together for war. ³ They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent. Adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

²³ The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.

⁹ The thought of folly is sin. And the scoffer is an abomination to men.

⁷ Let the wicked man forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. And let him return to Jehovah and he will have mercy upon him and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

¹⁴ O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long will your evil thoughts lodge within you?

³ Now when Herod the king heard it, he was disturbed and everyone in Jerusalem with him. ⁴ And having gathering together all the high-priests and scribes of the people, he inquired from them where the Christ should be born.
⁵ Now they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judea; for thus it has been written through the prophet, ⁶ ‘And Bethlehem, a land of Judah, you are by no means least among the governors of Judah; for a leader will be coming forth from you, who will be shepherding my people Israel.’
⁷ Then Herod, having called the wise-men secretly, ascertained accurately from them the time of the star’s appearing. ⁸ And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, While you are traveling, probe out accurately the things concerning the young child. And whenever you have found him, report to me, that I may also come and may worship him.

¹⁶ Then Herod, having seen that he was mocked by the wise-men, was exceedingly furious, and sent forth soldiers and assassinated all the boys who were in Bethlehem, and in all her borders, from two years and downward, according to the time which he had ascertained accurately from the wise-men.

⁴ and they counseled together in order that they might take-hold of Jesus with treachery, and might kill him.

⁵ So-then, do not judge anything before the time, until the Lord should come, who will both be illuminating the hidden things of darkness and will be manifesting the plans of the hearts, and then the praise from God will happen for each.

² But we ourselves have scoffed at the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in God’s sight.

¹ Moreover Ahithophel said to Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men and I will arise and pursue after David this night. ² And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak-handed and will make him afraid. And all the people who are with him will flee. And I will only kill* the king, ³ and I will bring back all the people to you. The man whom you seek is as if all returned, so all the people will be in peace. ⁴ And the saying pleased Absalom well and all the elders of Israel.

⁷ And Mordecai told him of all that had happened to him and the exact sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews to destroy them. ⁸ Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given out in Shushan to destroy them, to show it to Esther and to declare it to her and to charge her that she should go in to the king to make supplication to him and to make request before him for her people. ⁹ And Hathach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai. ¹⁰ Then Esther spoke to Hathach and gave him a message to Mordecai saying, \ulnone\nosupersub ¹¹ All the king's servants and the people of the king's provinces, know, that whoever, whether man or woman, will come to the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law for him, that he is put to death, except those to whom the king will hold out the golden scepter that he may live. But I have not been called to come in to the king these thirty days. ¹² And they told Esther's words to Mordecai.
¹³ Then Mordecai commanded them return answer to Esther, Think not with yourself that you will escape in the king's house more than all the Jews. ¹⁴ For if you altogether keep quiet at this time, then relief and deliverance will arise to the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

⁴ For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I would have held my peace, although the adversary could not have compensated for the king's damage.
⁵ Then king Ahasuerus spoke and said to Esther the queen, Who is he and where is he, who dares presume in his heart to do so? ⁶ And Esther said, An adversary and an enemy, even this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

¹¹ If they say, Come with us. Let us lay wait for blood. Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause. ¹² Let us swallow them up alive as Sheol and whole, as those who go down into the pit. ¹³ We will find all precious substance. We will fill our houses with spoil. ¹⁴ You will cast your lot among us. We will all have one bag.
¹⁵ My son, do not walk in the way with them. Restrain your foot from their path. ¹⁶ Because their feet run to evil and they make haste to shed blood. ¹⁷ Because the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird, ¹⁸ and these lay wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.
¹⁹ So are the ways of everyone who is greedy of gain. It takes away the life of the owners of it.

³ A rod of pride is in the mouth of a fool, but the lips of the wise will preserve them.

⁷ Their feet run to evil and they make haste to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are thoughts of wickedness. Desolation and destruction are in their paths.

²⁶ For among my people are found wicked men. They watch as fowlers lie in wait. They set a trap; they catch men.

¹ Woe is me! For I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grape gleanings of the vintage. There is no cluster to eat. My soul desires the first ripe fig.
² The devout man has perished out of the earth and there is none upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood. They hunt every man his brother with a net.

¹² Now when it became day, some of the Jews made a conspiracy and they vowed for themselves, saying, they were neither to eat nor to drink until they should have killed Paul.

¹⁵ Therefore now, you, together with the council, disclose it to the commander that he should be led to you the next-day, as if being about to investigate more accurately the things concerning him. Now we are ready to assassinate him before he draws near.

³ asking for a favor against him, that he might send for him to come to Jerusalem; making a plot to assassinate him on the road.

¹⁶ And your house and your kingdom will be made sure forever before you; your throne will be established until everlasting.

²⁶ And let your name be magnified until everlasting, saying, Jehovah of hosts is God over Israel and the house of your servant David will be established before you.

⁶ And in Shushan the palace the Jews killed and destroyed five hundred men. ⁷ And they killed Parshandatha and Dalphon and Aspatha, ⁸ and Poratha and Adalia and Aridatha, ⁹ and Parmashta and Arisai and Aridai and Vaizatha, ¹⁰ the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Jew's enemy, but they did not lay their hand on the spoil.

¹⁴ And the king commanded it so to be done. And a decree was given out in Shushan and they hanged Haman's ten sons.

²⁰ But the eyes of the wicked will fail and they will have no way to flee. And their hope will be the giving up of the spirit.

¹⁵ There will dwell in his tent what is none of his. Brimstone will be scattered upon his habitation. ¹⁶ His roots will be dried up beneath and above his limbs be will cut off.
¹⁷ His remembrance will perish from the earth and he will have no name in the street. ¹⁸ He will be driven from light into darkness and chased out of the world. ¹⁹ He will have neither son nor son's son among his people, nor any remaining where he traveled. ²⁰ Those who come after will be astonished at his day, as those who went before were frightened.

¹⁸ He builds his house as the moth and as a booth which the keeper makes.
¹⁹ He lies down rich, but he will not be gathered to his fathers. He opens his eyes and he is not. ²⁰ Terrors overtake him like waters. A tempest steals him away in the night. ²¹ The east wind carries him away and he departs and it whirlwinds him out of his place.
²² For God will hurl at him and not spare. He would gladly flee out of his hand. ²³ Men will clap their hands at him and will hiss him out of his place.

²⁵ Therefore he takes knowledge of their works and he overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.

¹⁰ Yet a little while and the wicked man will not be. Yes, you will diligently consider his place and he will not be.

³⁵ I have seen a wicked man in great power and spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil. ³⁶ But I passed by, and behold, he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.
³⁷ Keep as the perfect man and behold the upright, because there is a happy end to the man of peace.

¹⁸ Surely you set them in slippery places. You cast them down to destruction. ¹⁹ How they have become a desolation in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.

²¹ Hand in hand, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the seed of the righteous will be delivered.

¹¹ The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

²⁵ Jehovah will root up the house of the proud, but he will establish the border of the widow.

³ Through wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established, ⁴ and by knowledge the chambers are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

²⁴ Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and practices them, he will be similar to a prudent man, who built his house upon the rock; ²⁵ and the rain came down and the rivers came up and the winds blew and fell down upon that house, and it did not fall; for it had been founded upon the rock. ²⁶ And everyone hearing these words of mine and who is not doing them, will be similar to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand; ²⁷ and the rain came down and the rivers came up and the winds blew and hit that house and it fell and great was its fall.

³⁹ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Inasmuch as God has shown you all of this, there is none so discreet and wise as you.

¹³ And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of Jehovah your God, which he commanded you. For now Jehovah would have established your kingdom upon Israel until everlasting,

¹⁸ Then one of the young men answered and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who is skillful in playing and a mighty man of valor and a man of war and prudent in speech and a handsome man and Jehovah is with him.

³⁰ Then the rulers of the Philistines went forth and it happened, as often as they went forth, that David behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name was very precious.

¹⁷ Now therefore know and consider what you will do, for evil is determined against our master and against all his house. For he is such a worthless fellow that a man cannot speak to him.

¹⁸ I will clothe his enemies with shame, but upon himself his crown will flourish.

²⁶ I also will laugh at your* calamity. I will mock when your* fear comes,

³⁵ The wise will inherit glory, but shame will be the promotion of fools.

²³ He will die for lack of instruction. And he will go astray in the greatness of his folly.

¹ Who is as the wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom makes his face to shine and the hardness of his face is changed.

² And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

⁸ But you* are turned aside out of the way. You* have caused many to stumble in the law. You* have corrupted the covenant of Levi, says Jehovah of hosts. ⁹ Therefore I also have made you* contemptible and base before all the people, just-as you* have not kept my ways, but have had respect of persons in the law.

⁴ saying, I have sinned, giving up innocent blood.
But they said, What is that to us? You will see to it. ⁵ And tossing the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed. And having gone away, he hanged himself.

⁴² But the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and prudent steward, whom his lord will be designating over his bondservants, to give them their food-allowance in season? ⁴³ That fortunate bondservant, whom his lord will find so doing when he has come. ⁴⁴ Truly I say to you, that he will be designating him over all his possessions.

⁸ And his lord praised the steward of unrighteousness because he had done prudently, because the sons of this world are more prudent to their own generation; even beyond the sons of the light.

²³ But instantly a messenger of the Lord struck him, because he did not give God the glory and he expired, having become maggot-eaten.

¹⁰ According to the grace of God which was given to me, I have laid a foundation like a wise expert-builder, and another is building upon it. But let each one beware how he is building upon it. ¹¹ For no one is able to lay another foundation beside what is laid, which is Jesus Christ. ¹² But if anyone is building on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, grass, straw, ¹³ the work of each one will become apparent. For the day will indicate it, because it is revealed in fire, and the fire will test the work of each one, of what sort it is. ¹⁴ If anyone’s work remains which he built upon it, he will be receiving a reward. ¹⁵ If the work of anyone will be burned, he will be forfeiting that work, but he himself will be saved, but so as through fire.

¹⁸ For he who commends himself, that man is not approved after being tested, but whom the Lord is commending.

⁷ There is he who makes himself rich, yet has nothing and he who makes himself poor, yet has great wealth.

¹¹ Because everyone who is exalting himself will be humbled, and he who is humbling himself will be exalted.

¹³ And he said to him, My lord knows that the children are tender and that the flocks and herds with me have their young and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die. ¹⁴ I beseech you, let my lord pass over before his servant and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the cattle that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir.

²⁶ And Judah said to his brothers, What profit is it if we kill our brother and conceal his blood? ²⁷ Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites and do not let our hand be upon him, because he is our brother, our flesh. And his brothers listened to him.
²⁸ And there passed by Midianites, merchants and they drew and lifted Joseph up out of the pit and sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver. And they brought Joseph into Egypt.

²⁸ And Jehovah opened the mouth of the donkey and she said to Balaam, What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times? ²⁹ And Balaam said to the donkey, Because you have mocked me. I would there were a sword in my hand, for now I would have killed you. ³⁰ And the donkey said to Balaam, Am not I your donkey, upon which you have ridden all your life long to this day? Was I ever accustomed to do so to you? And he said, No.
³¹ Then Jehovah opened the eyes of Balaam and he saw the messenger of Jehovah standing in the way, with his sword drawn in his hand. And he bowed his head and fell on his face.
³² And the messenger of Jehovah said to him, Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way is perverse before me.

⁴ You will not muzzle the ox when he treads out the grain.

⁷ And Adoni-bezek said, Seventy kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered scraps under my table. As I have done, so God has requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem and he died there.

² And Nahash the Ammonite said to them, On this condition will I make it with you*, that all your* right eyes be put out and I will lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.

¹¹ The woman says to him, Lord, you have no bucket and the well is deep. Therefore from where do you have the living water?

³¹ Therefore the Jews asked Pilate, in order that the bodies should not remain upon the cross upon the Sabbath since it was the Preparation, (for the day of that Sabbath was a great day), that their legs might be fractured and that they might be taken away. ³² Therefore, the soldiers came, and indeed fractured the legs of the first and of the other one who was crucified together with him,

¹³ For the judgment is merciless to the one who has not practiced mercy; mercy wins over judgment.
¹⁴ My brethren, what is the profit, if someone says he has faith, but does not have works? Is that faith able to save him? ¹⁵ But if a brother or sister is naked and may be deficient of daily nourishment, ¹⁶ and anyone out of you may say to them, Go away in peace. Be warmed and be fed, but do not give to them the body’s requirements; what is the profit?

¹⁷ But whoever has the world’s good life and should view his brother having need and then should lock his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

¹⁹ You will eat bread by the sweat of your face, till you return to the ground, because out of it you were taken. For you are dust and you will return to dust.

⁴ And they gave him seventy pieces of silver out of the house of Baal-berith, with which Abimelech hired vain and unstable fellows who followed him.

⁴ I have not sat with men of falsehood, nor will I go in with pretenders.

² Because you will eat the labor of your hands. You will be fortunate and it will be well with you.

¹⁰ My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.

¹⁴ Do not enter into the path of the wicked and do not advance in the way of evil men. ¹⁵ Avoid it. Do not pass by it. Turn from it and pass on.

³² He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding. He who would destroy his own soul does it.

⁷ and I beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding

⁶ Forsake you* simpleness and live and advance in the way of understanding.

¹³ The foolish woman is clamorous, simple and knows nothing.

¹⁶ And as for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,

²⁰ Walk with wise men and you will be wise. But the companion of fools will be evil for it.

²³ Much food is in the tillage of the poor, but when there no justice, it is swept away.

⁴ Where no oxen are, the crib is clean, but by the strength of the ox is much increase.

²³ There is profit in all labor, but the talk of the lips tends only to poverty.

²⁷ And then will be goats' milk enough for your food; for the food of your household and maintenance for your maidens.

¹⁹ He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows after vanity will have poverty enough.

⁸ Those who regard lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

²⁸ Let the one who steals, steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working at what is the good thing with his hands, in order that he may have something to give to the one who has need.

¹¹ and that you make it your aim to be living quiet lives and to do your own things, and to work with your own hands (just-as we commanded you), ¹² in order that you may walk decently toward those who are outside, and may have need of nothing.

⁸ nor did we eat bread freely from anyone, but in labor and hardship, working night and day, that we might not burden anyone of you;

¹⁰ For there are many even rebellious men, empty-talkers and deceivers, especially those out of the circumcision, ¹¹ whom it is essential to gag; men who are perverting whole houses, teaching things which they ought not teach, because of shameful gain.

³ And he will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. And whatever he does will prosper.

⁹ He lurks in secret as a lion in his covering. He lies in wait to catch the poor man. He catches the poor man when he draws him in his net.

¹⁵ The rich man's wealth is his strong city. The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

⁵ A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his steps.
⁶ There is a snare in the transgression of an evil man, but a righteous man sings and rejoices.

⁶ In days to come Jacob will take root; Israel will blossom and bud. And they will fill the face of the world with fruit.

³¹ And the remnant that has escaped from the house of Judah will again take root downward and bear fruit upward.

²⁶ For among my people are found wicked men. They watch as fowlers lie in wait. They set a trap; they catch men. ²⁷ As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit. Therefore they have become great and grown rich. ²⁸ They have grown fat. They shine. Yes, they overflow in deeds of wickedness. They do not plead the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may prosper. And they do not judge the right of the needy.

⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in Jehovah and whose trust Jehovah is. ⁸ For he will be as a tree planted by the waters, that spreads out its roots by the river and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green and will not be worried in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.

² The devout man has perished out of the earth and there is none upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood. They hunt every man his brother with a net.

¹⁵ He takes all of them up with the hook. He catches them in his net and gathers them in his drag. Therefore he rejoices and is glad. ¹⁶ Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his drag, because by them his portion is fat and his food plentiful. ¹⁷ Shall he therefore empty his net and not spare to kill the nations continually?

¹³ But those upon the rock are those who, whenever they hear, accept the word with joy, and these have no root, who for a short time believe, and in time of temptation, withdraw. ¹⁴ But what fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard, and while they are traveling on with life, they are choked by anxieties and riches and sensual-delights of this life, and they are not bringing themselves to maturity. ¹⁵ But that seed in the good soil, these are such as in a good and beautiful heart, having heard the word, hold-onto it and are bearing-fruit with endurance.

⁵ I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me and I in him, this one is bringing forth much fruit, because you are not able to do anything separate from me.

¹⁶ You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you, in order that you should go and should bring forth fruit and in order that your fruit should abide, that if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he should give it to you.

²² But now, having been made free from sin and having been enslaved to God, you have your fruit leading to holiness and the end everlasting life.

¹⁶ the messenger who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads and let my name be named on them and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

⁹ And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite and said to them, As Jehovah lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity,

²³ Then king Solomon swore by Jehovah, saying, God do so to me and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.

⁶ You will destroy those who speak lies. Jehovah abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

¹⁹ The afflictions of the righteous are many, but Jehovah delivers him out of them all.

⁸ So they will be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them. All who see them will wag the head.

² you are snared with the words of your mouth, you are taken with the words of your mouth.

⁸ A righteous man is delivered out of trouble and a wicked man comes instead of him.

² The tongue of the wise utters knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours out folly.

⁶ A fool's lips enter into contention and his mouth calls for stripes.
⁷ A fool's mouth is his destruction and his lips are the snare of his soul.

²³ He who keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.

¹⁸ It is good that you should take hold of this, yes, also do not withdraw your hand from that. Because he who fears God will come out from them all.

²⁴ And the king commanded and they brought those men who had accused Daniel and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their sons and their wives. And the lions had the mastery of them and broke all their bones in pieces, before they came to the bottom of the den.

²⁵ And all the people answered and said, His blood is upon us and upon our children.

³⁵ Who will be separating us away from the love of Christ? Shall affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? ³⁶ Just-as it has been written, ‘Because of you we are slain the whole day. We were counted as sheep of the slaughter.’ ³⁷ But we are victorious in all these things through the one who loved us.

⁹ The Lord knows how to rescue the devout out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous to a day of judgment to be punished;

⁵ My soul will be satisfied as with marrow and fatness. And my mouth will praise you with joyful lips

² A man will eat good by the fruit of his mouth, but the soul of the treacherous, violence.

²³ A man has joy in the answer of his mouth and a word in due season, how good it is!

²⁰ A man's belly will be filled with the fruit of his mouth. He will be satisfied with the increase of his lips.
²¹ Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat the fruit of it.

¹⁰ Say you* of the righteous, that it is well, for they will eat the fruit of their practices. ¹¹ Woe to the wicked! It is ill with him, for what his hands have done will be done to him.

⁴¹ He who accepts a prophet in the name of a prophet, will be receiving a prophet’s reward, and he who accepts a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, will be receiving a righteous man’s reward. ⁴² And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to drink to one of these little ones, in the name of a disciple, assuredly I am saying to you, He may never lose his reward.

²⁷ For the Son of Man is about to come in the glory of his Father with his messengers, and then he will be giving to each one according to his practice.

⁶ if indeed it is a righteous thing with God to repay affliction to those who are afflicting you; ⁷ and to you who are afflicted with us, a rest at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the messengers of his power,

² For if the word spoken through the messengers became steadfast and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward;

²⁶ having deemed the reproach of the Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking toward the reward.

⁵ that the wise man may hear and increase in learning and that the man of understanding may attain to sound-wisdom,

⁷ Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear Jehovah and depart from evil.

⁹ Give opportunity to a wise man and he will be yet wiser. Teach a righteous man and he will increase in learning.

¹² There is a way which seems right to a man, but the end of it are the ways of death.

¹⁶ A wise man fears and departs from evil, but the fool bears himself insolently and is confident.

² All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but Jehovah weighs the spirits.

²⁰ Hear counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter end.

² Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but Jehovah weighs the hearts.

¹² See a man wise in his own conceit? There is more hope for a fool than of him.

¹⁶ The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men who can render a reason.

¹¹ The rich man is wise in his own conceit, but a poor man who has understanding searches him out.

¹² There is a generation who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not washed from their filthiness.

¹³ Better is a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish king who does not know how to receive admonition any more.

¹⁵ Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, If I declare it to you, will you not surely put me to death? And if I give you counsel, you will not listen to me. ¹⁶ So Zedekiah the king swore secretly to Jeremiah, saying, As Jehovah lives, who made us this soul, I will not put you to death, nor will I give you into the hand of these men who seek your life.
¹⁷ Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, Jehovah says thus, the God of hosts, the God of Israel. If you will go forth to the king of Babylon's rulers, then your soul will live and this city will not be burned with fire and you will live and your house.
¹⁸ But if you will not go forth to the king of Babylon's rulers, then this city will be given into the hand of the Chaldeans and they will burn it with fire and you will not escape out of their hand.
¹⁹ And Zedekiah the king said to Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews who have fallen away to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand and they abuse me. ²⁰ But Jeremiah said, They will not deliver you. I beseech you, obey, the voice of Jehovah, in what I speak to you, so it will be well with you and your soul will live.
²¹ But if you refuse to go forth, this is the word that Jehovah has shown me: ²² Behold, all the women who are left in the king of Judah's house will be brought out to the king of Babylon's rulers. And those women will say, Your familiar friends have set upon you and have prevailed over you. Since your feet are sunk in the mud, they have turned back away.
²³ And they will bring out all your wives and your sons to the Chaldeans. And you will not escape out of their hand, but will be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon. And you will cause this city to be burned with fire.
²⁴ Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words and you will not die. ²⁵ But if the rulers hear that I have talked with you and they come to you and say to you, Declare to us now what you have said to the king, hide it not from us and we will not put you to death, also what the king said to you, ²⁶ then you will say to them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house to die there.
²⁷ Then all the rulers came to Jeremiah and asked him. And he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him, for the matter was not perceived. ²⁸ So Jeremiah abode in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken.

¹¹ The Pharisee stood and was praying these things with himself, God, I give-thanks to you, that I am not like the rest of men: swindlers, unrighteous, adulterers or just-like this tax collector.

³ For if anyone thinks himself to be something, being nothing, he is deceiving himself.

³⁰ Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan and he said to him, You son of a perverse rebellious woman, do I not know that you have chosen the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of your mother's nakedness? ³¹ For as long as the son of Jesse lives upon the ground, you will not be established, nor your kingdom. Therefore now send and fetch him to me, for he will surely die.
³² And Jonathan answered Saul his father and said to him, Why should he be put to death? What has he done? ³³ And Saul cast his spear at him to kill* him. By this Jonathan knew that it was determined by his father to put David to death.
³⁴ So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger and ate no food the second day of the month, for he was grieved for David because his father had done him shame.

¹ And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done and also how he had slain all the prophets with the sword. ² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.

¹² Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all transgressions.

³³ Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding, but what is in the inward part of fools is made known.

²² Understanding is a well-spring of life to him who has it, but the correction of fools is folly.

⁹ He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates chief friends.

²⁸ He whose spirit is without restraint is a city that is broken down and without walls.

¹¹ A fool utters all his anger, but a wise man keeps it back and calms it.

¹⁹ So-then my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath.

¹⁴ Then Ahimelech answered the king and said, And who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king's son-in-law and is taken into your council and is honorable in your house? ¹⁵ Have I today begun to inquire of God for him? Be it far from me. Do not let the king impute anything to his servant, nor to all the house of my father, for your servant knows nothing of all this, less or more.

¹⁹ a false witness who breathes-out lies and he who sows discord among brothers.

⁵ A faithful witness will not lie, but a false witness breathes-out lies.

²⁵ A true witness delivers souls, but he who breathes-out lies causes deceit.

⁵ A false witness will not be unpunished and he who breathes-out lies will not escape.

²⁸ A worthless witness mocks at justice and the mouth of the wicked swallows wickedness.

²⁸ A false witness will perish, but the man who hears will speak so as to endure.

²⁸ Do not bear witness against your neighbor without cause and deceive not with your lips.

¹⁹ For out of the heart comes forth evil reasonings, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.

⁵⁹ Now the high-priests and the elders and the whole council were seeking false testimony against Jesus, how they might slay him;

¹³ And false witnesses stood up, who said, This man is not ceasing to speak blasphemous declarations against this holy place and the law;

¹⁶ having a good conscience; in order that, in what they are speaking against you as evildoers, they may be ashamed who are railing at your good conduct in Christ.

² Your tongue devises wickedness, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

⁴ My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows and their tongue is a sharp sword.

⁷ Behold, they pour out words with their mouth. Swords are in their lips, because they say, Who hears?

³ who have flashed their tongue like a sword and have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,

²² Because they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh.

²⁰ The tongue of a righteous man is choice silver. The heart of the wicked is little.
²¹ The lips of a righteous man feeds many, but the foolish die for lack of understanding.

¹⁷ A wicked messenger falls into evil, but a faithful ambassador is health.

⁴ A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it is a breaking of the spirit.

⁷ The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but the heart of the foolish, not so.

²⁴ Pleasant words are a honeycomb: Sweet to the soul and health to the bones.

¹⁸ A man who bears false witness against his neighbor is a maul and a sword and a sharp arrow.

³³ And those who are wise among the people will instruct many, yet they will fall by the sword and by flame, by captivity and by spoil, many days.

⁶ And the tongue is a fire, the world of unrighteousness. Thus the tongue is designated among our members as what stains the whole body and ignites the birth cycle and is ignited by hell. ⁷ For every nature of beasts and birds, of reptiles and sea-creatures, is tamed and has been tamed by human nature. ⁸ But no one from mankind is able to tame the tongue; it is an uncontrollable evil, full of deadly poison.

¹⁶ And he has in his right hand seven stars and a sharp two edged long-sword traveled out from his mouth and his appearance was as the sun appears in its power.

² in the middle of its street. And the Tree of Life was on this side and on that side of the river, producing twelve fruits, giving its fruit every month and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

⁵ that the triumphing of the wicked is short and the joy of the profane but for a moment?

⁴ You love all devouring words, O you deceitful tongue.
⁵ God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up and pluck you out of your tent and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.

⁹ A false witness will not be unpunished and he who breathes-out lies will perish.

⁴ Do not be as your* fathers, to whom the former prophets cried, saying, Jehovah of hosts says thus: Return now from your* evil ways and from your* evil practices, but they did not hear, nor listen to me, says Jehovah.
⁵ Your* fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live everlasting? ⁶ But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not overtake your* fathers? And they turned and said, Like as Jehovah of hosts thought to do to us, according to our ways and according to our practices, so he has dealt with us.

³⁵ The heaven and the earth will be passing away, but my words may never pass away.

³ But Peter said, Ananias, why has the Adversary filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to pilfer part of the price of the parcel of ground? ⁴ When it remained unsold, was it not remaining yours? And when it was sold, was it not still in your authority? Why did you purpose this matter in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God. ⁵ But Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and expired, and there became great fear upon all those who heard these things. ⁶ Now when the younger-men stood up, they enshrouded him and carried him out and buried him.
⁷ Now it happened after an interval of approximately three hours, his wife also came in, not knowing what has happened. ⁸ But Peter answered her, Tell me if you were given so-much for the parcel of ground?
And she said, Yes, for so much.
⁹ But Peter said to her, Why is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door and they will be carrying you out. ¹⁰ Now she fell down instantly beside his feet and expired and the young-men came in and found her dead and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.

²⁴ He who hates masquerades with his lips, but he lays up deceit within him. ²⁵ Because he speaks graciously, do not believe him, for there are seven abominations in his heart.
²⁶ Though his hatred cover itself with guile, his wickedness will be openly shown before the assembly.

⁶ For to us a child is born, to us a son is given. And the government will be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from hereafter until everlasting. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

¹⁶ As for me, I have not hastened from being a shepherd after you, nor have I desired the woeful day. You know. What came out of my lips was before your face.

¹³ even he will build the temple of Jehovah. And he will bear the glory and will sit and rule upon his throne. And he will be a priest upon his throne and the counsel of peace will be between them both.

⁹ The peacemakers are fortunate, because they will be called sons of God.

²¹ For evil reasonings travel from inside, out of the heart of men, such as : adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, ²² greedy-acts, wickednesses, treachery, unbridled-lusts, an evil eye, blasphemy, haughtiness, foolishness.

¹⁴ Now when they came, they say to him, Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care concerning one’s appearance. You do not look at the countenance of men, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it legal to give tribute to Caesar or not? ¹⁵ Should we give or should we not give?
But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, Why are you testing me? Bring me a denarius, in order that I may see it. ¹⁶ Now they brought it. And he says to them, Whose face is this image and inscription?
Now they said to him, Caesar’s.
¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said to them, Give to Caesar the things which are Caesar’s and give to God the things which are God’s. And they marveled at him.

²⁹ They have been filled with all: unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, greed, malice; full of: envy, murder, strife, treachery, maliciousness. They are: malicious whisperers,

¹⁴ Pursue peace with all and the holiness without which no one will be seeing the Lord:

⁸ Now to the end, all be like-minded, sympathetic, loving the brethren, affectionate, friendly; ⁹ not repaying evil in exchange-for evil or reviling in exchange-for reviling, but instead, speaking well of others; knowing that you were called for this, in order that you should inherit a blessing. ¹⁰ For he who wills to love life and to see good days, let his tongue cease from speaking evil, and also his lips not to speak treachery. ¹¹ Let him shun evil and let him practice good. Let him seek peace and let him pursue it, ¹² because the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are toward their supplication. But the face of the Lord is against those who are practicing evil.
¹³ And who is he who will be mistreating you, if you become imitators of the good one?

¹⁰ There will no evil befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent,

¹⁴ The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways and a good man from his own fruits.

¹² Therefore you will speak to them this word. Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel: Every jug will be filled with wine. And they will say to you, Do we not certainly know that every jug will be filled with wine?
¹³ Then you will say to them, Jehovah says thus: Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings who sit upon David's throne and the priests and the prophets and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
¹⁴ And I will smash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, says Jehovah. I will not pity, nor spare, nor have compassion, that I should not destroy them.

¹⁶ You are filled with shame and not glory. Drink you also and be as one uncircumcised. The cup of Jehovah's right hand will come around to you and foul shame will be upon your glory.

²⁸ Now we know that all things work together toward good, to those who love God, to those who are an invited one according to his purpose.

²² whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things which are present, or future things. All things are yours, ²³ and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.

¹⁷ For the momentary light weight of our affliction, is working for us a surpassingly-better everlasting weight of glory;

¹³ And who is he who will be mistreating you, if you become imitators of the good one?

⁶ Repay to her as she has also given to you and you do this double to her–double again according to her works; in the cup which she mingled, mingle to her double again.

¹⁶ There are six things which Jehovah hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to him: ¹⁷ haughty eyes, a lying tongue and hands that shed innocent blood,

¹ A false balance is an abomination to Jehovah, but a just weight is his delight.

²⁰ Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Jehovah, but such as are perfect in their way are his delight.

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

¹⁵ The elder and the honorable man, he is the head. And the prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.

²⁴ but let he who boasts boast in this, that he has understanding and knows me, that I am Jehovah who exercises loving kindness, justice and righteousness, in the earth. For in these things I delight, says Jehovah.

¹⁹ And you* have profaned me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to kill the souls who should not die and to save the souls alive who should not live, by your* lying to my people who listen to lies.

²² Because with lies you* have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way and be saved alive.

⁸ But to the cowardly and unbelieving and sinners and detestable and murderers and fornicators and sorcerers and idolaters and to all the false witnesses, their part will be in the lake which is burning with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.

¹⁵ The dogs and the sorcerers and the fornicators and the murderers and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices a lie are outside.

¹⁴ Wise men lay up knowledge, but the mouth of a foolish man is a present destruction.

¹⁹ Transgression is not lacking in the multitude of words, but he who refrains his lips does wisely.

¹³ He who goes around as a gossiper reveals secrets, but he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.

¹⁶ Every prudent man works with knowledge, but a fool flaunts folly.

³ Yes also, when the fool walks by the way, his understanding fails him and he says to everyone that he is a fool.

¹² The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious, but the lips of a fool will swallow himself up. ¹³ The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness and the end of his talk is mischievous madness.
¹⁴ A fool also multiplies words; yet man does not know what will be and what will be after him, who can tell him?

¹⁵ And he saw a resting place that it was good and the land that it was pleasant. And he bowed his shoulder to bear and became a servant under forced-labor.

²¹ their sons who were left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel were not able utterly to destroy, of them Solomon raised force-labor of bondservants to this day.

²⁸ And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor. And Solomon saw the young man that he was industrious and he gave him charge over all the labor of the house of Joseph.

²⁰ And it happened, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was returned, that they sent and called him to the congregation and made him king over all Israel. There was none that followed the house of David, but only the tribe of Judah.

⁴ He who works with a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

²⁷ The slothful man roasts not what he took in hunting, but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

⁴ The soul of the sluggard desires and has nothing, but the soul of the diligent will be made fat.

² A servant who deals wisely will have rule over a son who causes shame and will have part in the inheritance among the brothers.

¹⁵ Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep and the idle soul will suffer hunger.

²⁵ The desire of the sluggard kills him, because his hands refuse to labor.
²⁶ There is he who covets greedily all the day long, but the righteous gives and does not withhold.

¹³ The sluggard says, There is a lion outside. I will be slain in the streets.

²⁹ See a man diligent in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before insignificant men.

³⁰ I went by the field of the sluggard and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding.
³¹ And behold, it was all grown over with thorns. The face of it was covered with nettles and the stone wall of it was broken down.
³² Then I beheld and considered well. I saw and received instruction: ³³ Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep, ³⁴ so your poverty will come as a robber and your want as an armed man.

¹³ The sluggard says, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.
¹⁴ The door turns upon its hinges, so does the sluggard upon his bed.
¹⁵ The sluggard buries his hand in the dish. It wearies him to bring it again to his mouth.
¹⁶ The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men who can render a reason.

¹ And it happened in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, when wine was before him, that I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not formerly been sad in his presence. ² And the king said to me, Why is your countenance sad, seeing you are not sick? This is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very much afraid.

⁶ I am pained and bowed down greatly. I go mourning all the day long.

¹¹ Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you in an uproar within me? Hope in God, because I will yet praise him, the help of my countenance and my God.

¹⁸ There is he who speaks rashly like the stabs of a sword, but the tongue of the wise is health.

¹⁰ The heart knows its own bitterness and a stranger does not share with its joy.

¹³ A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.

¹⁵ All the days of the afflicted are evil, but he who is of a cheerful heart has a continual feast.

²² A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

¹⁴ The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity, but a broken spirit who can bear?

¹¹ A timely word spoken is apples of gold in a lattice-work of silver.

⁹ Oil and perfume rejoice the heart, so too the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.

⁴ The lord Jehovah has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words he who is weary. He awakens morning by morning. He awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.

¹³ And Jehovah answered the messenger who talked with me with good words, comforting words.

³³ And he takes with him Peter and James and John, and began to be utterly amazed and disheartened. ³⁴ And he says to them, My soul is very sorrowful until death, remain here and watch.

⁴ For I wrote to you out of much affliction and dismay of heart through many tears; not in order that you should be made sorrowful, but that you may know the love that I have even-more toward you.
⁵ But if anyone has caused-sorrow, he has not caused-sorrow to me, (that I may not burden him), but partially to you all. ⁶ Sufficient to such a one is this penalty which was inflicted by the many; ⁷ so-that you, rather instead, are to forgive him and to encourage him, lest such a one might be swallowed up with his sorrow even-more.

³ As for the holy ones who are in the earth, they are the excellent in whom is all my delight.

¹² At the brightness before him his thick clouds passed, hailstones and coals of fire. ¹³ Jehovah also thundered in the heavens and the Most High uttered his voice, hailstones and coals of fire.

¹³ A wicked man is snared by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous will come out of trouble.

²⁷ He who spares his words has knowledge and he who is of a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

⁴⁶ For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? ⁴⁷ And if you only greet your friends, what are you doing more-than others? Are not even the tax collectors doing so? ⁴⁸ Therefore you will be complete, just-like your Father is complete, the one in the heavens.

³² And if you love those who love you, what gratitude do you have? For even sinners love those who love them. ³³ And if you do good to those who are doing good to you, what gratitude do you have? For even sinners are doing the same. ³⁴ And if you lend to those from whom you are hoping to receive, what gratitude do you have? For even sinners are lending to sinners, in order that they might receive equally. ³⁵ However, love^*\'b0 your enemies and do good things for them and lend, hoping for nothing again. And your reward will be much, and you will be sons of the Highest, because he is kind toward the unthankful and evil. ³⁶ Therefore, become compassionate, just-as your Father is also compassionate.

¹³ Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God, for God is not temptable from evils, and he himself tempts no one. ¹⁴ But each person is tempted, when he is pulled away and enticed by his own lust.

¹⁸ Domestic servants, be subject to your masters in all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the crooked. ¹⁹ For this is grace, if anyone undergoes sorrows, suffering wrongfully because of his consciousness of God. ²⁰ For what credit is it, if, when you are sinning and are battered for it, you will be enduring it? But if, when you are doing good and are suffering for it, you will be enduring it; this is grace with God. ²¹ For you were called into this, because Christ also suffered on our behalf, leaving a model for you, in order that you should follow after his footprints.

¹⁸ For while speaking flattering-words of futility, they entice (with the lusts of the flesh to unbridled-lusts) those who really had fled away from those who conduct themselves in error. ¹⁹ They are promising them freedom, when they themselves are bondservants of corruption. For in what anyone has been succumbed, in this, he has also been enslaved. ²⁰ For if, having fled away from the defilements of the world in the full knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and having been again entangled, they are succumbed in these things, the last state has become worse to them than the first. ²¹ For it was better for them to have not known fully the way of righteousness, than to turn away from the holy commandment given to them after having fully known it. ²² But it has befallen to them as the way of the true proverb, ‘ The dog having turning again toward his own vomit,’and the sow that had fully-washed, to wallowing in the mud.

²⁶ I have written to you these things concerning those who are misleading you.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast down, the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and the Adversary, the one who is misleading the whole inhabited-earth; he was cast down to the earth and his messengers were cast down with him.

¹⁴ And the one who is misleading those of mine who are dwelling upon the earth because of the signs which was given to him to do in the sight of the beast, saying to those who dwell upon the earth to make an image to the beast, who was holding the wound of death from the sword and lived.

¹⁶ Better is a little that the righteous man has than the abundance of many wicked men.

¹⁶ Better is little with the fear of Jehovah, than great treasure and trouble with it.

⁸ Better is a little, with righteousness, than great revenues with injustice.

² and put a knife to your throat if you are a man given to appetite.

¹⁵ The sluggard buries his hand in the dish. It wearies him to bring it again to his mouth.

¹⁵ See, I have set before you this day life and good and death and evil,

¹¹ Because by me your days will be multiplied and the years of your life will be increased.

¹⁶ The labor of a righteous man produces life. The fruit of a wicked man is to sin.

¹⁹ He who is steadfast in righteousness comes to life and he who pursues evil comes to his own death.

⁹ has walked in my statutes and has kept my ordinances, to deal truly, he is just. He will surely live, says the lord Jehovah.

²⁰ The soul that sins, it will die.
The son will not bear the iniquity of the father, nor will the father bear the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of a righteous man will be upon him and the wickedness of a wicked man will be upon him.
²¹ But if a wicked man turns from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is lawful and right, he will surely live. He will not die. ²² None of his transgressions that he has committed will be remembered against him. In his righteousness that he has done he will live.
²³ Have I any pleasure in the death of a wicked man? says the lord Jehovah and not rather that he should return from his way and live?
²⁴ But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits unrighteousness and does according to all the abominations that a wicked man does, will he live? None of his righteous deeds that he has done will be remembered. In his trespass that he has trespassed and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he will die.

²¹ in order that, just-as sin reigned in death, so also the favor might also reign through righteousness to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²² But now, having been made free from sin and having been enslaved to God, you have your fruit leading to holiness and the end everlasting life. ²³ For the compensations of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹¹ For the grace of God has appeared, which is salvation to all men, ¹² educating us in order that we should live with self-discipline and righteously and devoutly in this current age, after having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts;

²⁹ If you know that he is righteous, you also know that everyone who is practicing righteousness has been born from him.

⁷ Let no one mislead you, my little-children. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just-as that man is righteous.

¹¹ Beloved, do not imitate the evil one, but the good one. He who practices good is from God. He who practices evil has not seen God.
