⁴⁸ But if that evil bondservant says in his heart, My lord is delaying to come;

⁴ Do not speak in your heart, after Jehovah your God has thrust them out from before you, saying, For my righteousness Jehovah has brought me in to possess this land. But because of the wickedness of these nations Jehovah drives them out from before you.

⁹ Beware that there not be a worthless thought in your heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing and he cry to Jehovah against you and it is sin to you.

²⁶ And he said to him, Did not my heart go with you when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money and to receive garments and olive-groves and vineyards and sheep and oxen and men-servants and maidservants?

¹¹ Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

⁶ For the fool will do senselessness and his heart will work wickedness, to practice profaneness and to utter error against Jehovah, to make empty the soul of the hungry and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

²² Son of man, what is this proverb that you* have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged and every vision fails?

²⁷ Son of man, behold, those of the house of Israel say, The vision that he sees is for many day to come and he prophesies of times that are far off.

³² Then his lord called him, and says to him, You evil bondservant, I forgave you all that debt, since you pleaded with me.

²⁶ But his lord answered and said to him, You evil and lazy bondservant, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather from where I did not scatter?

²¹ For evil reasonings travel from inside, out of the heart of men, such as : adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts,

⁴⁵ But if that bondservant says in his heart, my lord delays his coming, and may begin to beat the young-servants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

²² But he says to him, I will be judging you out of your own mouth, you evil bondservant. You knew that I am an austere man, lifting up from what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow?
