¹ Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, ² saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit upon the seat of Moses. ³ Therefore, as many things as they may say for you to keep, keep and do, but do not do them according to their works; for they say and are not doing. ⁴ For they bind burdensome and unbearable loads, and place them upon men’s shoulders, but they are not willing to move them even with their finger. ⁵ And they are practicing all their works to be seen by men. And they widen their phylacteries and magnify the hems of their garments, ⁶ and they love the foremost-place in the suppers and the foremost seats in the synagogues, ⁷ and the greetings in the marketplaces and to be called by men, Rabbi, Rabbi. ⁸ But do not be called Rabbi; for only one is your leader, the Christ, and you are all brethren. ⁹ Now do not call anyone your father upon the earth; for only one is your Father, the one in the heavens; ¹⁰ nor be called leaders; for only one is your leader–the Christ. ¹¹ But the greater of you will be your servant. ¹² But whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.


¹³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are devouring widows’houses, and praying long prayers for a pretext, because of this, you will be receiving even-more condemnation.
¹⁴ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you lock the kingdom of the heavens before men; for you are not entering in yourselves, nor are you allowing those who are entering in, to enter either.
¹⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you go all around the sea and the dry land to make one Jewish-convert, and whenever he has become one, you are making him double the son of hell as you^\'b0 are yourselves.
¹⁶ Woe to you, you blind guides, that say, Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing, but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obligated. ¹⁷ You are foolish and blind; for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that makes the gold holy? ¹⁸ And, Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing, but whoever swears by the gift which is upon it, he is obligated. ¹⁹ You^\'b0 are foolish and blind; for which is greater, the gift, or the altar that makes the gift holy? ²⁰ Therefore, he who swears by the altar swears by it, and by all things upon it. ²¹ And he who swears by the temple, swears by it, and in the one who has dwelt in it. ²² And he who has sworn by the heaven, swears by the throne of God, and in the one who is sitting upon it.
²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and yet have left behind the weighty things of the law: justice and mercy and faith. You ought to do these, and not to have left behind those other things. ²⁴ You blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel! ²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you cleanse the outside of the cup and the plate, but they are full from swindling and unrighteousness inside. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the cup from within and the plate, in order that the outside of them might also become clean.
²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are similar to whitewashed burial chambers, which on the outside indeed appear beautiful, but inside are full of dead men’s bones, and full of all uncleanness. ²⁸ So on the outside you indeed appear also righteous to men, but inside, you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
²⁹ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the burial chambers of the prophets and adorn the tombs of the righteous, ³⁰ and say, If we were in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in the blood of the prophets. ³¹ So-then you are testifying to yourselves, that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. ³² And you, fill up the measure of your fathers. ³³ Serpents, offspring of vipers! How may you flee from the judgment of hell? ³⁴ Because of this, behold, I am sending to you prophets and wise men and scribes, and out of them you will be killing and will be crucifying, and some of them you will be scourging in your synagogues and will be persecuting from city to city, ³⁵ so that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Assuredly I am saying to you, All these things will be coming upon this generation.
³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How-often I willed to have gathered together your children in the manner a bird gathers together her brood under her wings, and you did not will it! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate; ³⁹ for I say to you, You may never see me from now on, until you should say, He who is coming in the name of the Lord has been blessed.

¹⁰ And he called to him the crowd and said to them, Hear and understand! ¹¹ Not what enters into the mouth desecrates the man, but what is traveling from the mouth, this desecrates the man.
¹² Then the disciples came to him and said, Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this speech?
¹³ He answered and said, Every plant which my heavenly father did not plant will be uprooted. ¹⁴ Leave them! They are blind guides of the blind. Now if the blind guide the blind, both will be falling into a ditch.
¹⁵ Now Peter answered and said to him, Explain to us the parable.
¹⁶ Now Jesus said, Are you also without understanding at this point? ¹⁷ Are you not yet perceiving, that whatever travels into the mouth makes room in the belly, and is cast out into the sewer? ¹⁸ But these things which are traveling from the mouth, come out from the heart, and they desecrate the man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart comes forth evil reasonings, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies. ²⁰ These things are what desecrate the man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not desecrate the man.

¹⁴ And having called to him all the crowd again, he said to them, All, hear me and understand.

³⁸ And he said to them in his teaching, Beware of things from the scribes, who wish to walk in long robes and to have greetings in the marketplaces, ³⁹ and the foremost seats in the synagogues and foremost-places at the suppers.

¹ At which time, when ten-thousand from the crowd were gathered together, so-that they trampled down one another, he began to say to his disciples first, Take-heed to yourselves, stay away from the leaven of the Pharisees; it is hypocrisy.

⁵⁷ But why are you not judging the righteous thing s, even from among yourselves?

⁴⁵ But while all the people were listening, he said to his disciples, ⁴⁶ Take-heed, stay away from the scribes, who wish to walk in long robes and love greetings in the marketplaces and foremost seats in the synagogues and foremost-places in the suppers;

⁶ this Ezra went up from Babylon. And he was a skilled scribe in the law of Moses, which Jehovah, the God of Israel, had given. And the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of Jehovah his God upon him.

²⁵ And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God, that is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges, who may judge all the people who are beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God. And you* teach him who does not know them.

⁴ And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose. And beside him stood Mattithiah and Shema and Anaiah and Uriah and Hilkiah and Maaseiah, on his right hand and on his left hand, Pedaiah and Mishael and Malchijah and Hashum and Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam. ⁵ And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people (for he was above all the people) and when he opened it, all the people stood up.
⁶ And Ezra blessed Jehovah, the great God. And all the people answered, Truly, Truly, with the lifting up of their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped Jehovah with their faces to the ground. ⁷ Also Jeshua and Bani and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law. And the people stood in their place. ⁸ And they read in the book, in the law of God, distinctly and they gave the sense, so that they understood the reading.

⁷ For the priest's lips should keep knowledge and they should seek the law at his mouth. For he is the messenger of Jehovah of hosts.

³⁸ And he said to them in his teaching, Beware of things from the scribes, who wish to walk in long robes and to have greetings in the marketplaces,

⁴⁶ Take-heed, stay away from the scribes, who wish to walk in long robes and love greetings in the marketplaces and foremost seats in the synagogues and foremost-places in the suppers;

¹⁹ Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel and God be with you. You be a leader for the people toward God and bring you the cases to God. ²⁰ And you will teach them the statutes and the laws and will show them the way in which they must walk and the work that they must do.

²³ If you will do this thing and God command you so, then you will be able to endure and all this people also will go to their place in peace.

⁵ Behold, I have taught you* statutes and ordinances, even as Jehovah my God commanded me, that you* should do so in the midst of the land where you* go in to possess it.

²⁷ Go near and hear all that Jehovah our God will say. And speak to us all that Jehovah our God will speak to you and we will hear it and do it.

⁹ And you will come to the priests the Levites and to the judge who will be in those days and you will inquire. And they will show you the sentence of judgment.
¹⁰ And you will do according to the tenor of the sentence which they will show you from that place which Jehovah will choose. And you will observe to do according to all that they will teach you, ¹¹ according to the tenor of the law which they will teach you and according to the judgment which they will tell you, you will do. You will not turn aside from the sentence, which they will show you, to the right hand, nor to the left.
¹² And the man who does presumptuously, in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before Jehovah your God, or to the judge, even that man will die and you will put away the evil from Israel.

¹² Also the hand of God came upon Judah to give them one heart, to do the commandment of the king and of the rulers by the word of Jehovah.

¹⁶ But to the wicked man God says, What have you to do to declare my statutes and that you have taken my covenant in your mouth, ¹⁷ since you hate instruction and cast my words behind you?
¹⁸ When you saw a thief, you consented with him and have been partaker with adulterers. ¹⁹ You give your mouth to evil and your tongue frames deceit. ²⁰ You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.

² Why are your disciples transgressing the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands whenever they eat bread.
³ But he answered and said to them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? ⁴ For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘He who is speaking evil of their father or mother, let him be ended by the sentence of death.’ ⁵ But you say, Whoever says to his father or his mother, in whatever you might have been profited from me, it is a gift to God, ⁶ and then should never honor his father and mother, and thus you invalidated the commandment of God because of your tradition. ⁷ You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied well concerning you, saying, ⁸ ‘These people are drawing near to me with their mouth, and are honoring me with their lips, but their heart is faraway from me. ⁹ But they are worshiping me in futility, teaching as their teachings–the commandments of men.’

³⁰ And he came to the second and said likewise. But he answered and said, I will go lord, and did not go.

²⁹ But Peter and the apostles answered and said, It is essential for us to obey God rather than men.

¹⁹ and have confidence that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light of those who are in darkness, ²⁰ a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of infants, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth.
²¹ Therefore you who are teaching a different one, are you not teaching yourself? You who are preaching not to steal, are you stealing? ²² You who are saying to not commit adultery, are you committing adultery? You who detest idols, are you a temple looter? ²³ You who are boasting in the law, through your transgression of the law, are you dishonoring God? ²⁴ ‘For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,’just-as it has been written.

¹ Let every soul be subject to the authorities which are superior to him; for there is no authority if not by God, and the authorities which are, have been appointed by God.

⁵ holding to a form of godliness, but having denied its power. Now turn yourself away from these people.

¹⁶ They profess to know God, but they are denying him by their works, being detestable and disobedient and unapproved toward every good work.

²⁸ Come-here to me, all you who labor and have been loaded down, and I will be giving-rest to you. ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am meek and humble in heart and you will be finding rest for your souls. ³⁰ For my yoke is easy and my load is light.

²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and yet have left behind the weighty things of the law: justice and mercy and faith. You ought to do these, and not to have left behind those other things.

⁴⁶ But he said, Woe also to you professors of the law! Because you are loading men down with unbearable loads, and you yourselves do not stroke the loads with one of your fingers .

¹⁰ Therefore now, why are you testing God, that is to place a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers, nor we were strong-enough to bear?

²⁸ For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us, to place no more burden upon you except these necessary things:

¹³ For not even those who have been circumcised themselves observe the law, but they wish you to be circumcised, in order that they may boast in your flesh.

²⁴ But I am saying to you and to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as are not holding to this teaching, who did not know the deep things of the Adversary, as they are saying, I am not putting upon you another burden.

⁹ And it will be for a sign to you upon your hand and for a memorial between your eyes, that the law of Jehovah may be in your mouth, because Jehovah has brought you out of Egypt with a strong hand.

³⁸ Speak to the sons of Israel and bid them that they make for them hems in the borders of their garments throughout their genealogy and that they put upon the hem of each border a cord of blue. ³⁹ And it will be to you* for a hem, that you* may look upon it and remember all the commandments of Jehovah and do them and that you* not follow after your* own heart and your* own eyes, after which you* use to play the prostitute,

⁸ And you will bind them for a sign upon your hand and they will be for bands between your eyes.

¹⁸ Therefore you* will lay up these my words in your* heart and in your* soul. And you* will bind them for a sign upon your* hand and they will be for bands between your* eyes.

¹² You will make for you hems upon the four borders of your clothing, with which you cover yourself.

¹⁶ And he said, Come with me and see my zeal for Jehovah. So they made him ride in his chariot.

³ Do not let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them about your neck, write them upon the tablet of your heart,

²¹ Bind them continually upon your heart. Tie them about your neck. ²² When you walk, it will lead you. When you sleep, it will watch over you. And when you awake, it will talk with you.
²³ Because the commandment is a lamp and the law is light and reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

¹ Take-heed not to do your charity before men, to be seen by them, otherwise you have no reward from your Father, the one in the heavens.
² Therefore, whenever you are doing charity, do not sound a trumpet before you just-like the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the lanes, that they may be glorified by men. Assuredly I am saying to you, They are having their reward. ³ But when you are doing charity, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, ⁴ that your charity may be in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will be repaying you openly.
⁵ And whenever you pray, do not be just-like the hypocrites, because they love to pray, standing in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may appear devout to men. Assuredly I am say to you, that they are having their reward. ⁶ But you, whenever you pray, enter into your storeroom, and when you have locked your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will be repaying you openly. ⁷ And while praying, do not be repetitious just-like the Gentile; for they think that they will be heard in their many words. ⁸ Therefore, do not be similar to them, for your Father knows what things you have need of before you ask him. ⁹ Therefore pray thus: our Father, the one in the heavens, let your name be made holy. ¹⁰ Let your kingdom come. Let your will happen as in heaven, also upon the earth. ¹¹ Give our needful bread to us today. ¹² And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. ¹³ And do not bring us into temptation, but rescue us from the evil one, because yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. ¹⁴ For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also be forgiving you. ¹⁵ But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father be forgiving your trespasses.

¹⁶ Now whenever you fast, do not become just-like the hypocrites, with a gloomy face; for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly I am saying to you, They are having their reward.

²⁰ And behold, a woman, having had a flow of blood for twelve years, came behind him and touched the hem of his garment;

¹⁵ And he said to them, You are those who are making yourselves righteous in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts, because what is exalted among men is an abomination in God’s sight.

⁴⁷ who are devouring widow’s houses, and are praying long prayers for a pretext. These will be receiving even-more condemnation.

⁴⁴ How are you able to believe, receiving glory from one another, and yet you are not seeking the glory that comes from the God alone?

¹⁸ He who speaks from himself is seeking his own glory, but he who is seeking the glory from the one who sent him, this one is true and no unrighteousness is in him.

⁴³ for they loved the glory from men rather than the glory from God.

¹⁵ Some indeed are preaching the Christ even because of envy and strife, but some also through their delight.

³ (nothing according to selfish ambition or through empty conceit, but in humility): deeming one another superior to yourselves; ⁴ The one who lays in opposition to us and promotes himself against everyone being called a god or worshiped objects; so-that he sits in the temple of God as a god, showing himself–that he is a god.

⁶ Do not put yourself forward in the presence of the king and stand not in the place of great men. ⁷ Because it is better that it is said to you, Come up here, than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince, whom your eyes have seen.

²¹ But he said to her, What do you wish?
She says to him, Say that these, my two sons, may sit, one at your right hand and one at your left hand in your kingdom.

⁴³ Woe to you Pharisees! Because you love the foremost seat in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces. ⁴⁴ Woe to you scribes, and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are like the indistinct tombs, and the men who are walking upon them do not know it.
⁴⁵ Now someone from the professors of the law, answered and says to him, Teacher, you are also insulting us in saying these things.
⁴⁶ But he said, Woe also to you professors of the law! Because you are loading men down with unbearable loads, and you yourselves do not stroke the loads with one of your fingers . ⁴⁷ Woe to you! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and your fathers killed them. ⁴⁸ Consequently, you are testifying and consenting to the works of your fathers, because they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs. ⁴⁹ Because of this, the wisdom of God also said, I will be sending prophets and apostles to them, and some out of them they will be killing and will be banishing; ⁵⁰ in order that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the conception of the world, may be sought from this generation; ⁵¹ from the blood of Abel Yes, I say to you, It will be sought from this generation. ⁵² Woe to you professors of the law! Because you took away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and you forbid those who were entering.
⁵³ Now while saying these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began terribly to hold everything against him, and to quiz him for unrehearsed answers concerning many things; ⁵⁴ plotting against him, seeking to trap him in something out of his mouth, in order that they might accuse him.

⁷ Now he spoke a parable to those who have been invited, when he took-heed of how they were choosing for themselves out the foremost-places; saying to them: ⁸ Whenever you are invited by anyone to a marriage-feast, do not recline in the foremost seat; lest a more admired man than you may have been invited by him, ⁹ and he who invited you and him, having come to you will say, Give this one your place, and then you may begin with shame to hold the last place. ¹⁰ But whenever you are invited, travel there and lean-back in the last place; in order that whenever he who has invited you comes, he may say to you, Friend, go higher toward me, and then you will have glory in the sight of those who recline at the table together with you. ¹¹ Because everyone who is exalting himself will be humbled, and he who is humbling himself will be exalted.

⁴⁶ Take-heed, stay away from the scribes, who wish to walk in long robes and love greetings in the marketplaces and foremost seats in the synagogues and foremost-places in the suppers; ⁴⁷ who are devouring widow’s houses, and are praying long prayers for a pretext. These will be receiving even-more condemnation.

¹⁰ Be tenderly loving to one another in the love of the brethren; being the leader for one another in honor;

¹ My brethren, do not have the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, in favoritism. ² For if a man comes into your congregation with a gold ring, in bright apparel and if a poor person in filthy apparel also comes in, ³ you may have looked upon the one who is wearing the bright apparel and may have said to him, Sit here; good; and you may have said to the poor person, Stand there or sit here under my footstool. ⁴ And did you not discern among yourselves and then became judges from evil reasonings?

⁹ I wrote to the congregation, but Diotrephes, who loves to be their foremost one, is not accepting us.

⁸ But do not be called Rabbi; for only one is your leader, the Christ, and you are all brethren.

⁵ And Peter answered and says to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good for us to be here, and we should make three tabernacles; one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.

⁵¹ And Jesus answered and says to him, What do you wish that I might do for you?
Now the blind man said to him, Rabboni, that I may recover my sight.

³⁸ Now Jesus, having turned, saw them following, and says to them, What are you seeking?
But they said to him, Rabbi (which is to say, by translation: Teacher), where do you abide?

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and says to him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.

² This one came to him by night and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God; for no one is able to do these signs which you are doing, if God is not with him.

²⁶ And they came to John and said to him, Rabbi, he who was with you beyond-that area of the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, this one immerses and all men are going to him.

²⁵ And when they found him beyond-that area of the sea, they said to him, Rabbi, when did you come here?

¹⁶ Jesus says to her, Mary.
That woman having turned around, says to him, Rabboni; which is saying: Teacher.

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he should become like his teacher and the bondservant like his lord. If they have called the householder Beelzebub, how much more the kinfolk!

⁵ While he is still speaking, behold, a radiant cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am delighted; hear him!

¹⁰ nor be called leaders; for only one is your leader–the Christ.

⁴⁹ And immediately he came to Jesus and said, Hail, Rabbi. And he kissed him.

³² But I besought concerning you, in order that your faith may not fail, and someday having turned back again, establish your brethren.

¹³ You address me as the Teacher and, Lord, and you say well; for so I am. ¹⁴ Therefore, if I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

⁹ For Christ both died and rose up and lived for this, in order that he might have lordship over both the dead and the living. ¹⁰ But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you also, why do you scorn your brother? For we will all be standing-before the judicial-seat of Christ.

¹² Now I am saying this, that each of you says, I am indeed of Paul! I am indeed of Apollos! I am indeed of Cephas! I am indeed of Christ!
¹³ Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified on your behalf, was he? Or were you immersed into the name of Paul?

³ for you are still fleshly. For where there is jealousy and strife and dissensions among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking according to the manner of man?
⁴ For whenever someone says, I am indeed of Paul, but a different one, I am of Apollos, are you not fleshly? ⁵ Therefore, who is Paul? And who is Apollos? But servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave to each.

²⁴ Not that we have lordship over your faith, but are fellow workers of your joy; for you are standing in the faith.

⁵ For we are not preaching ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord and ourselves as your bondservants because of Jesus.

¹⁵ from whom every family in the heavens and upon the earth is named,

¹ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, ² to the holy and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹ My brethren, do not let many of you become teachers, knowing that we will be receiving a greater judgment.

³ nor like one lording it over his inheritances, but by becoming examples to the flock.

⁹ I John, your brother and partner in the affliction and the kingdom and the endurance which are in Christ Jesus, happened to be on the island called Patmos, because of the word of God and because of the testimony of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ And I fell down before his feet to worship him. And he says to me, See that you do not do that. I am a fellow bondservant of you and of your brethren who are holding the testimony of Jesus. Worship God; for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

⁹ And he says to me, See that you do not do that. I am your fellow bondservant and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who are keeping the words of this book. Worship God.

¹² And Elisha saw it and he cried, My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen of it! And he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.

²¹ And the King of Israel said to Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I kill* them? Shall I kill* them?

¹⁴ Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness of which he died. And Joash the King of Israel came down to him and wept over him and said, My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen of it!

²¹ Do not let me, I beseech you*, respect any man's person. Neither will I give flattering titles to any man. ²² For I do not know to give flattering titles, else my maker would soon take me away.

⁶ A son honors his father and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says Jehovah of hosts to you*, O priests, who despise my name. And you* say, How have we despised your name?

⁸ Therefore, do not be similar to them, for your Father knows what things you have need of before you ask him. ⁹ Therefore pray thus: our Father, the one in the heavens, let your name be made holy.

³² For the Gentiles are seeking after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you have needs of all these things.

¹¹ Therefore if you, being evil, know how to give good presents to your children, how much more will your Father, the one in the heavens, be giving good things to those who are asking him?

¹ Brethren and fathers! Hear my defense which I now make to you.

¹⁴ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. ¹⁵ For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of sonship, in which we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ The Spirit himself is testifying together with our spirit, that we are children of God; ¹⁷ and if children, then heirs; indeed, heirs of God and joint heirs of Christ; if indeed we are suffering together with him, in order that we might also be glorified together with him.

¹⁵ For even if you have ten thousand tutors in Christ, but you do not have many fathers, for I fathered you in Christ Jesus through the good-news.

¹⁸ and will be a Father to you and you will be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.’

¹ Do not berate an elder man, but encourage him like a father; younger-men like brethren; ² elder women like mothers; younger women like sisters, in all purity.

⁹ Thereafter, we have indeed had the fathers of our flesh as correctors of us, and we were revering them. Will we not much rather be made subject to the Father of spirits and we will live?

¹ Behold what sort of love the Father has given to us, in order that we might be called children of God. Because of this, the world does not know you, because it did not know him.

²⁶ But it will not be so among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you, he will be your servant; ²⁷ and whoever wishes to be first among you, let him be your bondservant;

⁴³ But it will not be so among you, but rather, whoever wishes to become great among you will be your servant; ⁴⁴ and whoever wishes to become first among you will be bondservant of all.

²⁶ But not so with you, but the greater one among you, let him become like the younger, and the leader, as he who is serving. ²⁷ For what is greater one, he who reclines at the meal, or he who is serving? Is it not he who reclines? But I am in your midst like he who serves.

¹⁴ Therefore, if I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. ¹⁵ For I gave you an example, in order that you should also do like I have done for you.

¹⁹ For although being free from all, I enslaved myself to all, in order that I might gain all the more.

²³ Are they servants of Christ? (I speak, as if having insanity) I am beyond them : in labors even-more, in lashes surpassingly, in prisons even-more, in deaths often.

¹³ For brethren, you were called to freedom; only do not use your freedom for a starting-point for the flesh, but serve^*\'b0 one another through love.

⁵ For let this mindset be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: ⁶ who, existing in the form of God, did not deem it a seizure to be equal to God, ⁷ but emptied himself, having taken the form of a bondservant, having become in the likeness of men; ⁸ and having been found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, having become obedient as far as death, and even death from a cross.

²⁹ When they cast you down, you will say, There is lifting up and he will save the humble man.

⁶ Because Jehovah is high, yet he has respect to the lowly. But he knows the haughty from afar.

³³ The fear of Jehovah is the instruction of wisdom and before honor is humility.

¹⁸ Pride is before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.
¹⁹ Better it is to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

²³ A man's pride will bring him low, but he who is of a lowly spirit will obtain honor.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, also with him who is of a crushed and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the crushed.

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are truth and his ways justice. And he is able to humble those who walk in pride.

³ The poor in spirit are fortunate, because theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.

⁴ Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this little child, this one is the greater one in the kingdom of the heavens.

⁵¹ He has made his dominion known with his arm. He has scattered the haughty in the perception of their heart. ⁵² He has taken down sovereigns from their thrones and has exalted the humble.

¹¹ Because everyone who is exalting himself will be humbled, and he who is humbling himself will be exalted.

¹⁴ I say to you, This one went down to his house, having been made righteous rather than that man, because everyone who is exalting himself will be humbled, but he who is humbling himself will be exalted.

⁶ But he is giving greater grace. Hence the Scripture says, ‘God resists the haughty, but gives grace to the humble.’

⁵ Likewise, the younger ones, be subject to the elder ones. But all of you be subject to one another, clothe yourselves with humility, because ‘God resists the haughty, but is giving grace to the humble.’

¹⁴ Therefore Jehovah will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm-branch and rush, in one day. ¹⁵ The elder and the honorable man, he is the head. And the prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.

¹⁴ The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the profane. Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?

¹⁷ Woe to the worthless shepherd who leaves the flock! The sword will be upon his arm and upon his right eye. His arm will be dried up and his right eye will be utterly darkened.

³¹ Which one out of the two did the will of his father?
They say, The first.
Jesus says to them, Assuredly I am saying to you, that the tax collectors and the prostitutes will precede you into the kingdom of God. ³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe in him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed in him, and the n having seen it, you did not even regret it later, that you might believe in him.

¹³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are devouring widows’houses, and praying long prayers for a pretext, because of this, you will be receiving even-more condemnation.
¹⁴ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you lock the kingdom of the heavens before men; for you are not entering in yourselves, nor are you allowing those who are entering in, to enter either.
¹⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you go all around the sea and the dry land to make one Jewish-convert, and whenever he has become one, you are making him double the son of hell as you^\'b0 are yourselves.

²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you cleanse the outside of the cup and the plate, but they are full from swindling and unrighteousness inside.

²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are similar to whitewashed burial chambers, which on the outside indeed appear beautiful, but inside are full of dead men’s bones, and full of all uncleanness.

²⁹ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the burial chambers of the prophets and adorn the tombs of the righteous,

⁴³ Woe to you Pharisees! Because you love the foremost seat in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces. ⁴⁴ Woe to you scribes, and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are like the indistinct tombs, and the men who are walking upon them do not know it.

⁵² Woe to you professors of the law! Because you took away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and you forbid those who were entering.

⁴⁶ The attendants answered, Never, has a man spoken thus, like this man.
⁴⁷ Therefore the Pharisees answered them, You have not also been misled, have you? ⁴⁸ Not anyone from the rulers or from the Pharisees believed in him, have they? ⁴⁹ But this crowd who does not know the law are cursed.
⁵⁰ Nicodemus says to them (he who came to him by night, being one out of them), ⁵¹ Our law is not judging a man, if it does not hear from him beforehand and may know what he is doing, does it?
⁵² They answered and said to him, You are not also from Galilee, are you? Search and behold that no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.

²² His parents said these things, because they feared the Jews; for the Jews, themselves, had covenanted already, in order that if anyone confesses him as Christ, he should become expelled from the synagogue.

²⁴ So they summoned the man who was blind a second-time and said to him, Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.

³⁴ They answered and said to him, You were born entirely in sins and you are teaching us! And they cast him outside.

¹⁷ But in order that it should not circulate, more-than this into the people, we will threaten them with more threatening, to no longer speak to any man in this name. ¹⁸ And they called them back and commanded them not to speak nor teach to any in the name of Jesus.

²⁸ saying, Did we command you with a strict command to not teach in this name? And behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and are planning to bring this man’s blood upon us.

⁴⁰ Now they were persuaded by him, and having called the apostles to them, they whipped them, and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them.

¹ Now Saul was consenting to the assassination of him.
Now there became a great persecution in that day upon the congregation which was in Jerusalem, and they were all dispersed throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

⁸ But Elymas the magician (for so is his name by translation) was standing against them, seeking to pervert the proconsul away from the faith.

¹⁵ The Jews, who both killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and banished us, and were not pleasing to God, and are adverse to all men; ¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles in order that they might be saved; that they should always fill up their sins, but the wrath has arrived-unexpectedly upon them–to the end.

⁸ Now in the manner that Jannes and Jambres stood against Moses so also, are these standing against the truth. Men having been utterly corrupted in their mind, unapproved concerning the faith.

¹⁵ whom you also, guard yourself against; for he is exceedingly standing against our words.

²² You* will not afflict any widow, or fatherless child. ²³ If you afflict them at all and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry, ²⁴ and my wrath will grow hot and I will kill you* with the sword and your* wives will be widows and your* sons fatherless.

⁹ You have sent widows away empty and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

¹⁶ If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail, ¹⁷ or have eaten my morsel alone and the fatherless has not eaten of it ¹⁸ (no, from my youth he grew up with me as with a father and her I have guided from my mother's womb); ¹⁹ if I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or that the needy had no covering; ²⁰ if his loins have not blessed me and if he has not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

²⁴ However I say to you, that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for you.

³³ Serpents, offspring of vipers! How may you flee from the judgment of hell? ³⁴ Because of this, behold, I am sending to you prophets and wise men and scribes, and out of them you will be killing and will be crucifying, and some of them you will be scourging in your synagogues and will be persecuting from city to city, ³⁵ so that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Assuredly I am saying to you, All these things will be coming upon this generation.

⁴⁰ They are those who devour widows’houses and are praying long prayers for a pretext; these will be receiving even-more condemnation.

⁴⁸ but he who did not know and did things worthy of lashes, will be whipped with few lashes. But to whomever much is given, much will be required from him, and to whom they consign much, they will be asking even-more from him.

⁴⁷ who are devouring widow’s houses, and are praying long prayers for a pretext. These will be receiving even-more condemnation.

⁶ For out of these people are those who are sneaking into houses and capturing immature women, who have been piled up with sins and are led away by various lusts,

¹⁰ For there are many even rebellious men, empty-talkers and deceivers, especially those out of the circumcision, ¹¹ whom it is essential to gag; men who are perverting whole houses, teaching things which they ought not teach, because of shameful gain.

³ And in their greed, they will be merchants of you with fabricated words; to whom the condemnation from long-ago is not idle, and their destruction will not be slumbering.

¹⁴ having eyes full of an adulteress and an unceasing sin; enticing unstable souls; having a heart which has been exercised from greed; children of the curse; ¹⁵ having left the straight way. They were misled, having followed in the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

¹⁷ And in every province and in every city, wherever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had gladness and joy, a feast and a good day. And many from among the peoples of the land became Jews, for the fear of the Jews was fallen upon them.

²² But I say to you, that everyone who is vainly angry to ward his brother will be liable to the judgment, and whoever says to his brother, You, empty-head, will be liable to the council, but whoever says, You fool, will be liable to the hell of fire.
{Vainly can be: with emptiness (without cause or reason; i.e. to further one's own vanity)}

{Empty-head is an expression of contempt. The Greek here could be simply ‘fool’said as an expression of condemnation or could be a transliteration of ‘Moreh’which is a Hebrew expression of condemnation. In Mat 5:22 the wording doesn’t matter; it’s the way it is said or meant.}

²⁹ Now if your right eye is offending you, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is advantageous for you, that one of your members should perish and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.

⁴⁴ You are from your father, the devil, and you to do the lusts of your father. That one was a murderer from the beginning and is not standing in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own things, because he is a liar and the father of it.

¹⁰ in Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and the parts of Libya toward Cyrene and the inhabiting Romans, both Jews and Jewish-converts,

⁵ And the speech pleased the whole multitude and they themselves chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit and Philip and Prochorus and Nicanor and Timon and Parmenas and Nicolaus a Jewish-convert from Antioch;

¹⁰ and said, O full of all treachery and all villainy, you son of the devil, enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?

⁴³ Now when the synagogue had been dissolved, many of the Jews and the pious Jewish-converts followed Paul and Barnabas; who, while speaking, were persuading them to remain in the favor of God.

² But the disobedient Jews aroused and embittered the souls of the Gentiles against the brethren.

¹⁹ But Jews came upon us there from Antioch and Iconium and having persuaded the crowds, they stoned Paul, and were dragging him outside the city, having supposed him to have died.

⁵ But the disobedient Jews took for themselves some evil men from among the market-loafers, and having amassed a crowd, the city was in an uproar, and standing against the house of Jason, they were seeking to lead them into the public court. ⁶ Now when they did not find them, they were dragging Jason and some brethren in front of the city rulers, crying, These men who have unsettled the inhabited-earth are also present ly here;

¹³ Now as the Jews of Thessalonica knew that the word of God was also proclaimed by Paul in Berea, they also went there, shaking up the crowds.

¹⁷ They are zealous for you in no good way. But they wish to lock you out from us, in order that you may be zealous for them.

¹² As many as wish to have a good countenance in the flesh, these are urging you to be circumcised; only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of the Christ.

³ among whom we also all conducted ourselves previously in the lusts of our flesh, practicing the wills of the flesh and of the mind and we were children of wrath by nature, even as the rest.

¹⁰ His watchmen are blind. They are all without knowledge. They are all mute dogs. They cannot bark, dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber. ¹¹ Yes, the dogs are greedy; they can never have enough. And these are shepherds who cannot understand. They have all turned to their own way, each one to his gain, from every quarter.

³³ Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘You will not perjure yourself, but will be giving your oaths to the Lord.’ ³⁴ But I am saying to you, Not to swear in anyway; neither by the heaven, because it is the throne of God; ³⁵ nor by the earth, because it is the footstool of his feet; nor in Jerusalem, because it is the city of the Great King,

⁵ But you say, Whoever says to his father or his mother, in whatever you might have been profited from me, it is a gift to God, ⁶ and then should never honor his father and mother, and thus you invalidated the commandment of God because of your tradition.

¹⁴ Leave them! They are blind guides of the blind. Now if the blind guide the blind, both will be falling into a ditch.

¹⁷ You are foolish and blind; for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that makes the gold holy?

¹⁹ You^\'b0 are foolish and blind; for which is greater, the gift, or the altar that makes the gift holy?

²⁴ You blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel!

²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the cup from within and the plate, in order that the outside of them might also become clean.

¹⁰ For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘He who is speaking evil of father or mother, let him be ended by the sentence of death.’ ¹¹ But you say, If a man says to his father or his mother, Whatever you might have been profited from me is Corban. (That is, a gift). ¹² And so you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother, ¹³ invalidating the word of God by your tradition, which you have been given, and you practice many such similar things.

³⁹ And Jesus said, I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see, may see, and those who see, may become blind.
⁴⁰ And those who were with him from the Pharisees heard these things and said to him, We are not also blind, are we?
⁴¹ Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin, but now you say, We see, therefore your sin remains.

³ Now, I am testifying again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is a debtor to practice the whole law.

¹² My brethren, but before all things, do not swear, neither by the heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath, but let your yes be yes and your no be no; in order that you may not fall into hypocrisy.

²⁶ And you will anoint with it the tent of meeting and the ark of the testimony, ²⁷ and the table and all the vessels of it and the lamp-stand and the vessels of it and the altar of incense, ²⁸ and the altar of burnt offering with all the vessels of it and the large-basin and the base of it. ²⁹ And you will sanctify them, that they may be most holy. Whatever touches them will be holy.

³⁸ even the censers of these sinners against their own lives and let them be made beaten plates for a covering of the altar, for they offered them before Jehovah, therefore they are holy and they will be a sign to the sons of Israel.
³⁹ And Eleazar the priest took the brazen censers, which those who were burnt had offered and they beat them out for a covering of the altar,

⁸ Consider, you* the stupid among the people and you* fools, when will you* be wise?

³⁷ Seven days you will make atonement for the altar and sanctify it. And the altar will be most holy. Whatever touches the altar will be holy.

²⁹ And you will sanctify them, that they may be most holy. Whatever touches them will be holy.

¹³ I have surely built you a house of habitation, a place for you to dwell in everlasting.

²⁷ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain you. How much less this house that I have built!

² But I have built for you a house of habitation and a place for you to dwell in everlasting.

² And the priests could not enter into the house of Jehovah, because the glory of Jehovah filled Jehovah's house.

⁸ Jehovah, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells.

¹³ Because Jehovah has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation. ¹⁴ This is my resting place forever. I will dwell here, for I have desired it.

²² in whom you are also built together into a residence of God in the Spirit.

⁹ because all the fullness of the Deity is dwelling in him bodily.

⁴ Jehovah is in his holy temple. Jehovah's throne is in heaven. His eyes, behold, his eyelids try, the sons of men.

¹ Jehovah says thus, Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool. What manner of house will you* build to me and what place will be my rest?

³⁴ But I am saying to you, Not to swear in anyway; neither by the heaven, because it is the throne of God;

⁴⁹ ‘The heaven is my throne and the earth the footstool of my feet. What sort of house will you be building me? says the Lord. Or what is the place of my rest?

² And immediately I became in the spirit and behold, a throne was placed in heaven, and sitting upon the throne ³ was one similar in appearance to a jasper stone and a carnelian and there was a rainbow surrounding the throne, similar in appearance to an emerald.

³⁰ And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Jehovah's; it is holy to Jehovah.

²² And Samuel said, Has Jehovah as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice and to listen than the fat of rams.

³ To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to Jehovah than sacrifice.

¹⁵ Shall you reign, because you strive to excel in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him. ¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy man, then it was well. Was not this to know me? says Jehovah.

⁶ For I desire mercy and not sacrifice and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

⁸ He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does Jehovah require of you, but to do justly and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?

¹⁹ Therefore, whoever loosens one of these least commandments and may teach men to do so, will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens, but whoever practices and should teach them, he will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens. ²⁰ For I am saying to you, that if your righteousness is not abounding more-than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you may never enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

¹³ Now when you travel on, learn what is meant by, ‘I will to have mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

⁷ But if you had known what is meant by this, ‘I will to have mercy and not sacrifice,’ You would not have sentenced the crimeless.

³⁷ Now Jesus said to him, You will love the Lord your God in your whole heart and in your whole soul and in your whole mind. ³⁸ This is the first and the great commandment. ³⁹ And the second commandment is similar to it, You will love your neighbor like yourself. ⁴⁰ In these two commandments hangs the whole law and the prophets.

⁴² But woe to you Pharisees! Because you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and are passing over justice and the love of God. It was essential to have practiced these things and to not leave the other things undone.

¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe of all things, as many things as I procure.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness and self-control. There is no law against such.

⁴ Or how will you say to your brother, Allow me, that I may cast out the speck from your eye, and behold, the beam in your own eye?

² Why are your disciples transgressing the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands whenever they eat bread.
³ But he answered and said to them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? ⁴ For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘He who is speaking evil of their father or mother, let him be ended by the sentence of death.’

²⁴ But again I am saying to you, It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

¹⁶ Woe to you, you blind guides, that say, Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing, but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obligated.

⁶ Now the high-priests took the pieces of silver and said, It is not legal to put them into the depository, since it is the price of blood. ⁷ Now they took counsel and bought from them the potter’s field, for the burial of strangers. ⁸ Hence until today, the field was called, The Field of Blood.

⁷ Now the scribes and the Pharisees were observing him, if he will heal him on the Sabbath; in order that they might find an accusation against him. ⁸ But he knew their reasonings, and he said to the man having a dried up hand, Arise and stand; you in the middle. Now having risen up, he stood there. ⁹ And Jesus said to them, I ask you something, Is it legal on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil? To save a life or to destroy it? ¹⁰ And having looked around on them all, he said to him, Stretch out your hand. Now he did, and his hand was restored like the other.

²⁸ Therefore they lead Jesus from Caiaphas into the palace, and it was morning, and they themselves did not enter into the palace, in order that they might not be defiled, but in order that they might eat the Passover.

⁴⁰ Therefore they all cried-out again, saying, Not this one, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

⁷ And even these reel with wine and wander around with strong drink. The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink. They are swallowed up of wine. They wander around with strong drink; they reel in vision; they stumble in judgment. ⁸ For all tables are full of vomit, filthiness, no place clean.

⁴ and when coming from the marketplace, they do not eat if they do not immerse of cups and pint pitchers and brass kettles and cots. ⁵ Thereafter, the Pharisees and the scribes ask him, Why are your disciples not walking according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?
⁶ But he answered and said to them, Isaiah did prophesy well concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people are honoring me with their lips, but their heart is faraway from me. ⁷ But they are worshiping me in futility, teaching as their teachings–the commandments of men.’ ⁸ For while leaving the commandment of God, you are holding-fast the tradition of men, like immersions of pint pitchers and cups, and you practice many other such similar things.
⁹ And he said to them, You reject well the commandment of God, in order that you may keep your tradition.

³⁹ But the Lord said to him, Now you, the Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but the inside of you is full from swindling and wickedness. ⁴⁰ Fools, he who made the outside, did he not also make the inside?

⁷ Let the wicked man forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. And let him return to Jehovah and he will have mercy upon him and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

¹⁴ O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long will your evil thoughts lodge within you?

²⁷ I have seen your abominations, even your adulteries and your neighings, the lewdness of your prostitution, on the hills, in the field. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! You will not be made clean. How long will it yet be?

³¹ Cast away from you* all your* transgressions, by which you* have transgressed and make you* a new heart and a new spirit. For why will you* die, O house of Israel?

³³ Either make^*\'b0 the tree good and its fruit good; or make^*\'b0 the tree rotten and its fruit rotten; for the tree is known from its fruit.

⁴⁵ The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks out of the abundance of the heart.

¹ Therefore beloved, having these promises, we should cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, completing holiness in the fear of God.

²² let us come near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts having been sprinkled away from an evil conscience and our body, having been fully-washed in clean water.

⁸ Draw near to God and he will be drawing near to you. Cleanse your hands sinners and purify your hearts you indecisive!

¹⁶ And whoever in the open field touches a man who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, will be unclean seven days.

¹ Cry aloud, spare not. Lift up your voice like a trumpet and declare to my people their transgression and to the house of Jacob their sins. ² Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways. As a nation that did righteousness and forsook not the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God.

⁴⁴ Woe to you scribes, and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are like the indistinct tombs, and the men who are walking upon them do not know it.

³ Then Paul said to him, God is about to beat you, the whitewashed wall. And you sit judging me according to the law, and yet violating the law, you are commanding me to be beaten.

⁷ But Jehovah said to Samuel, Do not look on his countenance, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For Jehovah sees not as man sees, for man looks on the outward appearance, but Jehovah looks on the heart.

⁶ Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts and in the hidden part you will make me to know wisdom.

⁹ The heart is deceitful above all things and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it?
¹⁰ I, Jehovah, search the mind. I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his practices.

³⁴ Offspring of vipers! How are you, being evil, able to speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth is speaking. ³⁵ The good man out of his good treasure is casting out good things and the evil man out of his evil treasure is casting out evil things.

⁵ And they are practicing all their works to be seen by men. And they widen their phylacteries and magnify the hems of their garments,

²¹ For evil reasonings travel from inside, out of the heart of men, such as : adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, ²² greedy-acts, wickednesses, treachery, unbridled-lusts, an evil eye, blasphemy, haughtiness, foolishness. ²³ All these evil things travel from inside, and desecrate the man.

¹² For the word of God is living and effective and sharper beyond that of any two edged sword and is penetrating till the division of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow and is a judge of the contemplations and deliberations of the heart. ¹³ And there is no created thing unapparent in his sight, but all things are naked and have been laid-bare to his eyes to whom is our account.

⁴⁷ Woe to you! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and your fathers killed them. ⁴⁸ Consequently, you are testifying and consenting to the works of your fathers, because they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs.

²⁹ Brethren, it is legal for me to speak publicly to you concerning the patriarch David, that he is both dead and was buried and his tomb is among us to this day.

¹⁵ And Jehovah, the God of their fathers, sent to them by his messengers, rising up early and sending, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling-place.

³⁰ In vain I have struck your* sons. They received no correction. Your* own sword has devoured your* prophets like a destroying lion.

³⁵ And then the farmers took his bondservants and whipped one, and killed one and stoned one. ³⁶ Again, he sent other bondservants, more-than the first, and they did to them likewise.

³⁴ Because of this, behold, I am sending to you prophets and wise men and scribes, and out of them you will be killing and will be crucifying, and some of them you will be scourging in your synagogues and will be persecuting from city to city, ³⁵ so that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

²² And Joshua said to the people, You* are witnesses against yourselves that you* have chosen for you*, Jehovah, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.

⁵ For your iniquity teaches your mouth. And you choose the tongue of the crafty. ⁶ Your own mouth condemns you and not I. Yes, your own lips testify against you.

⁸ So they will be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them. All who see them will wag the head.

²² But he says to him, I will be judging you out of your own mouth, you evil bondservant. You knew that I am an austere man, lifting up from what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow?

⁵¹ You are stiff-necked and non-circumcised in heart and ears. You are habitually defying the Holy Spirit, like your fathers, like you also! ⁵² Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who proclaimed beforehand God’s message concerning the coming of the Righteous One; of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers.

¹⁶ And they will come here again in the fourth generation, because the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet full.

¹⁴ And behold, you* have risen up in your* fathers' stead, an brood of sinful men, to consume yet the fierce anger of Jehovah toward Israel.

⁶ And I said, What is it? And he said, This is the ephah that goes forth. He said moreover, This is their appearance in all the land ⁷ (and, behold, a talant of lead was lifted up) and this is a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah. ⁸ And he said, This is Wickedness. And he cast her down into the midst of the ephah and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth of it.
⁹ Then I lifted up my eyes and looked. And behold, there came out two women and the wind was in their wings. Now they had wings like the wings of a stork and they lifted up the ephah between earth and heaven. ¹⁰ Then I said to the messenger who talked with me, Where do these carry the ephah? ¹¹ And he said to me, To build her a house in the land of Shinar. And when it is prepared, she will be set there in her own place.

¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles in order that they might be saved; that they should always fill up their sins, but the wrath has arrived-unexpectedly upon them–to the end.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel.

³ The wicked are estranged from the womb. They go-astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies. ⁴ Their poison is like the poison of a serpent, like the deaf adder that stops her ear, ⁵ which listens not to the voice of charmers, charming ever so wisely.

³ But draw near here, you* sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the prostitute. ⁴ Against whom do you* sport yourselves, against whom you* make a wide mouth and put out the tongue? Are you* not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,

⁷ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his immersion, he said to them, Offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the future wrath?

³⁴ Offspring of vipers! How are you, being evil, able to speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth is speaking.

³⁴ Now when the time of the fruits drew near, he sent his bondservants to the farmers, to receive his fruits. ³⁵ And then the farmers took his bondservants and whipped one, and killed one and stoned one.

⁷ Therefore, he was saying to the crowds who traveled out to be immersed by him, Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the future wrath?

³ But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted away from the clarity and the purity which is leading to the Christ.

³ how shall we flee, having neglected so-great a salvation, which having received at the beginning was spoken through the Lord, which was confirmed to us from those who heard it?

²⁹ How much worse punishment, do you think he will be deemed worthy of, after having trampled under foot the Son of God, and having deemed the blood of the covenant in which he was made holy as common, and having insulted the Spirit of the grace?

²⁵ Beware that you do not renounce the one who speaks. For if those men did not flee when they renounced the one who divinely-warned them upon the earth, much more we may not flee who are turning away from him, who is from the heavens;

⁹ And the great dragon was cast down, the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and the Adversary, the one who is misleading the whole inhabited-earth; he was cast down to the earth and his messengers were cast down with him.

¹⁵ And Jehovah, the God of their fathers, sent to them by his messengers, rising up early and sending, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling-place. ¹⁶ But they mocked the messengers of God and despised his words and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of Jehovah arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

³⁰ The fruit of a righteous man is a tree of life and he who is wise wins souls.

¹⁶ Behold, I am sending you forth like sheep in the midst of wolves; therefore, become prudent like serpents and harmless like doves. ¹⁷ But take-heed, stay away from men; for they will be giving you up to councils, and they will be scourging you in their synagogues;

²³ But whenever they persecute you in this city, flee into another; for assuredly I am saying to you, You may never complete the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man should come.

⁵² Now he said to them, Because of this, every scribe who has been made a disciple to the kingdom of the heavens is similar to a man who is a householder, who casts forth out of his treasure, new and old things.

¹⁹ When you travel, make disciples of all the nations, immersing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them to observe all things, as many things as I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the earth.
Amen.

⁴⁹ Because of this, the wisdom of God also said, I will be sending prophets and apostles to them, and some out of them they will be killing and will be banishing; ⁵⁰ in order that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the conception of the world, may be sought from this generation; ⁵¹ from the blood of Abel Yes, I say to you, It will be sought from this generation.

⁴⁷ and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

² They will be expelling you from the synagogues. But the hour is coming, that everyone who kills you may think that he is offering divine service to God.

²¹ Therefore Jesus said to them again, Peace to you; just-as the Father has sent me; I am also sending you.

⁸ But you will be receiving power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be witnesses to me, both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the outermost parts of the earth.

⁵⁸ and they cast him outside the city and were stoning him. And the witnesses placed their garments beside the feet of a young-man called Saul. ⁵⁹ And they were stoning Stephen, who was calling upon the Lord, saying, Lord Jesus, accept my spirit.

¹ But Saul, still breathing threatening and murder toward the disciples of the Lord, having come to the high-priest, ² asked from him letters for Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found some who were of the Way, both men and women, having been bound, he might lead them to Jerusalem.

²⁷ Now in these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.

² Now he assassinated James the brother of John with a sword.

¹ Now there were some prophets and teachers in the congregation which was in Antioch: both Barnabas, and Symeon who was called Niger, and Lucius from Cyrene, and Manaen, a foster-brother of Herod the Tetrarch, and Saul.

³² And Judas and Silas, also being prophets themselves, encouraged the brethren through much speech also further strengthened them.

¹⁹ And I said, Lord, they themselves know that I was imprisoning and whipping them in every synagogue, those who believe on you; ²⁰ and when the blood of Stephen, your witness, was being shed, I was also standing by and was consenting to the his assassination, guarding the garments of those assassinating him.

⁶ Now we are speaking wisdom among the mature ones; yet a wisdom not of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are being done-away-with;

¹⁰ According to the grace of God which was given to me, I have laid a foundation like a wise expert-builder, and another is building upon it. But let each one beware how he is building upon it.

³ Hence I make known to you, that no one speaking in the Spirit of God says, Jesus is accursed, and no one is able to say, Jesus is Lord, except in the Holy Spirit.
⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are diversities of services and the same Lord. ⁶ And there are diversities of workings, but it is the same God, who is working all things in all. ⁷ But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for what is advantageous: ⁸ for the word of wisdom is given to one through the Spirit, and the word of knowledge to another according to the same Spirit; ⁹ and miraculous faith to different one in the same Spirit; and gifts of healing to another in the same Spirit; ¹⁰ and workings of miracles to another; and prophecy to another; and the discernings of spirits to another; varieties of languages to a different one; and the translation of foreign languages to another; ¹¹ but the one and the same Spirit is working all these things, sectioning off to each one in his own way just-as he wills.

²⁴ Five-times, I received forty lashes beside one from the Jews. ²⁵ I was lashed with rods three-times. I was stoned once. I was shipwrecked three-times. I have spent a night and a day in the depth of the sea;

⁸ Hence he says, ‘When he ascended onto high, he captured captivity and gave presents to men.’ ⁹ Now this saying, He ascended, (what is it saying?) except that he also came down into the downward parts of the earth first? ¹⁰ He who came down is also the same as he who ascended up above all the heavens, in order that he might fill all things.
¹¹ And he gave some to be : the apostles, and the prophets, and the evangelists, and the shepherds and teachers ¹² for the equipping of the holy-ones, for the work of the service, for the building up of the body of the Christ,

²⁸ The Christ whom we are proclaiming, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, in order that we should present every man complete in Christ Jesus;

³⁷ they were stoned; they were sawed in two; they were tempted; they died in murder from the sword; they went around in sheepskins, and in hides; they were lacking, being afflicted, and being mistreated,

¹⁰ And those who are dwelling upon the earth rejoice over them and will be joyous, and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell upon the earth.

⁸ And Cain told Abel his brother. And it happened, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

⁵ And surely I will require your* blood, the blood of your* lives. I will require it at the hand of every beast. And I will require the life of man at the hand of man, even at the hand of every man's brother. ⁶ Whoever sheds man's blood, his blood will be shed by man. For in the image of God he made man.

³³ So you* will not pollute the land in which you* are, for blood, it pollutes the land. And no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him who shed it.

⁷ and they will answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it. ⁸ Forgive, O Jehovah, your people Israel whom you have redeemed and allow no innocent blood to remain in the midst of your people Israel. And the blood will be forgiven them.

¹⁶ Moreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin with which he made Judah to sin in doing what was evil in the sight of Jehovah.

⁴ and also for the innocent blood that he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood and Jehovah would not pardon.

²⁰ And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest. And he stood above the people and said to them, Thus says God, Why do you* transgress the commandments of Jehovah, so that you* cannot prosper? Because you* have forsaken Jehovah, he has also forsaken you*.
²¹ And they conspired against him and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of Jehovah.
²² Thus Joash the king did not remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. And when he died, he said, Jehovah look upon it and require it.

²¹ For, behold, Jehovah comes forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth also will disclose her blood and will no more cover her slain.

³⁴ Also in your skirts is found the blood of the souls of the innocent poor. You did not find them breaking in. But it is because of all these things.

¹⁵ Only know for certain that, if you* put me to death, you* will bring innocent blood upon yourselves and upon this city and upon the inhabitants of it. For of a truth Jehovah has sent me to you* to speak all these words in your* ears.

²³ and they fetched forth Uriah out of Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.

¹³ It is because of the sins of her prophets and the iniquities of her priests, who have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her.
¹⁴ They wander as blind men in the streets. They are polluted with blood, so that men cannot touch their garments.

¹ In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Jehovah came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,

⁵¹ from the blood of Abel Yes, I say to you, It will be sought from this generation.

⁴ In faith, Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice to God than Cain, through which he was witnessed to be righteous, God testifying on the basis of his gifts and through it he still speaks, although being dead.

²⁴ and to Jesus the intermediary of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling which speaks better than that of Abel.

¹¹ Because this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, in order that we should love one another; ¹² not like Cain who was from the evil one and slaughtered his brother. And he slaughtered him because of what? Because his works were evil but the works of his brother were righteous.

²⁴ And the bloods of prophets and of holy-ones and of all who have been slaughtered upon the earth was found in her.

²¹ And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying, ²² Son of man, what is this proverb that you* have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged and every vision fails?
²³ Tell them therefore, The lord Jehovah says thus: I will make this proverb to cease and they will no more use it as a proverb in Israel, but say to them, The days are at hand and the fulfillment of every vision. ²⁴ For there will no more be any false vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.
²⁵ For I am Jehovah. I will speak and the word that I will speak will be performed. It will be no more prolonged. For in your* days, O rebellious house, I will speak the word and will perform it, says the lord Jehovah.
²⁶ Again the word of Jehovah came to me, saying, ²⁷ Son of man, behold, those of the house of Israel say, The vision that he sees is for many day to come and he prophesies of times that are far off.
²⁸ Therefore say to them, The lord Jehovah says thus: There will none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I will speak will be performed, says the lord Jehovah.

³⁴ Assuredly I am saying to you, This generation may never pass away, until all these things should happen.

³⁰ Assuredly I am saying to you, This generation may never pass away, till all these things should happen. ³¹ Heaven and earth will be passing away, but my words may never pass away.

³² Assuredly I am saying to you, This generation may never pass away, until all things should happen. ³³ The heaven and the earth will pass away, but my words may never pass away.

¹¹ As an eagle that stirs up her nest, that flutters over her young, he spreads abroad his wings. He took them. He bore them on his pinions.
¹² Jehovah alone led him and there was no foreign god with him.

¹² Jehovah recompense your work and a full reward be given you of Jehovah, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.

²⁶ Nevertheless they were disobedient and rebelled against you and cast your law behind their back and killed your prophets who testified against them to turn them again to you and they worked great provocations.

⁸ Keep me as the apple of the eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings,

⁷ How precious is your loving kindness, O God and the sons of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings.

¹ Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, because my soul takes refuge in you. Yes, in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge until calamities have passed by.

⁷ Because you have been my help and in the shadow of your wings I will rejoice.

⁸ Hear, O my people and I will testify to you, O Israel, if you would listen to me! ⁹ There will be no strange god in you, nor will you worship any foreign god.
¹⁰ I am Jehovah your God who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.
¹¹ But my people listened not to my voice and Israel would have none of me.

⁴ He will cover you with his pinions and under his wings will you take refuge. His truth is a shield and a buckler.

²⁴ Because I have called and you* have refused, I have stretched out my hand and no man has regarded, ²⁵ but you* have made all my counsel void and want none of my reproof, ²⁶ I also will laugh at your* calamity. I will mock when your* fear comes, ²⁷ when your* fear comes as a storm and your* calamity comes on as a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you*.
²⁸ Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me, ²⁹ because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of Jehovah.
³⁰ They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof. ³¹ Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way and be filled with their own devices.

² Why, when I came, was there no man? When I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea. I make the rivers a wilderness. Their fish stink because there is no water and die for thirst.

⁸ Be instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul be alienated from you, lest I make you a desolation, a land not inhabited.

¹⁶ Jehovah says thus, Stand in the ways and see. And ask for the old paths where is the good way. And walk in it and you* will find rest for your* souls. But they said, We will not walk. ¹⁷ And I set watchmen over you*, saying, Listen to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not listen.

⁷ For I earnestly protested to your* fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even to this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.
⁸ Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked each one in the stubbornness of his evil heart. Therefore I brought upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did them not.

³ From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, the word of Jehovah has come to me and I have spoken to you*, rising up early and speaking. But you* have not listened.
⁴ And Jehovah has sent to you* all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, (but you* have not listened, nor inclined your* ear to hear), ⁵ saying, Return now each one from his evil way and from the evil of your* practices and dwell in the land that Jehovah has given to you* and to your* fathers, from everlasting even to everlasting. ⁶ And do not go after other gods to serve them and to worship them and provoke me not to anger with the work of your* hands. And I will do you* no hurt.
⁷ Yet you* have not listened to me, says Jehovah, that you* may provoke me to anger with the work of your* hands to your* own hurt.

¹⁵ I have also sent to you* all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return now every man from his evil way and amend your* practices and do not go after other gods to serve them and you* will dwell in the land which I have given to you* and to your* fathers. But you* have not inclined your* ear, nor listened to me.

⁹ and said to them, Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel, to whom you* sent me to present your* supplication before him: ¹⁰ If you* will still abide in this land, then I will build you* and not pull you* down and I will plant you* and not pluck you* up, for I relent of the evil that I have done to you*.
¹¹ Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you* are afraid. Do not be afraid of him, says Jehovah, for I am with you* to save you* and to deliver you* from his hand. ¹² And I will grant you* mercy, that he may have mercy upon you* and cause you* to return to your* own land.
¹³ But if you* say, We will not dwell in this land, so that you* do not obey the voice of Jehovah your* God,

⁴ However I sent all my servants the prophets to you*, rising up early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate.

² The more the prophets called them, the more they went from them. They sacrificed to the Baals and burned incense to graven images.

⁷ And my people are bent on backsliding from me. Though they call them to him who is on high, none at all will exalt him.

⁴ Do not be as your* fathers, to whom the former prophets cried, saying, Jehovah of hosts says thus: Return now from your* evil ways and from your* evil practices, but they did not hear, nor listen to me, says Jehovah.

¹² Rejoice and be glad, because your reward is much in the heavens; for thus, they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

³ and sent forth his bondservants to call to those who have been invited to the marriage-feast, and they were not willing to come.

⁶ and the rest took-hold of his bondservants, and abused them and killed them.

³⁰ and say, If we were in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in the blood of the prophets.

³ But they took him and whipped him and sent him away empty handed. ⁴ And again, he sent another bondservant to them, and having stoned him, they bashed his head and sent him away, having dishonored him. ⁵ And again, he sent another, and they killed him and many others, whipping some but killing others. ⁶ Therefore, he still had one, his beloved son; he also sent him last to them, saying, They will be revering my son.

³⁴ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How-often I wished to have gathered together your children in the manner a bird gathers together her own brood under her wings, and you did not wish for it! ³⁵ Behold, your house is left to you desolate and I say to you, that you may never see me, until the time will come whenever you say, He who is coming in the name of the Lord has been blessed.

¹⁷ and he sent forth his bondservant in the hour of the supper to say to those who have been invited, Come, because all things are already prepared. ¹⁸ And they all, from one desire, began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, I have bought a field, and I have a necessity to go out and to see it; I request of you, have me excused.
¹⁹ And a different one said, I have bought five yoke of bulls, and I am traveling on to test them; I request of you, have me excused.
²⁰ And a different one said, I have married a wife, and because of this, I am not able to come.

²⁸ But he was angry and was not willing to enter and therefore his father came out and was pleading him.

¹⁴ But his citizens were hating him and sent an ambassador after him, saying, We do not wish that this one reign over us. ¹⁵ And it happened, while he was coming back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these bondservants, to whom he gave the silver, to be summoned to him, in order that he might know what they had made by trading.
¹⁶ Now the first came before him, saying, Lord, your two-hundred denarius coin has been worked up to ten two-hundred denarius coins more. ¹⁷ And he said to him, Well done, you good bondservant, because you became faithful in the least matters; you have ten cities, be the authority over them,. ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, Your two-hundred denarius coin, Lord, has produced five two-hundred denarius coins. ¹⁹ But he also said to him, You, become the authority over five cities. ²⁰ And a different bondservant came, saying, Lord, behold, here is your two-hundred denarius coin, which I had laid up in a handkerchief; ²¹ for I was fearing you, because you are an austere man. You lift up from what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.
²² But he says to him, I will be judging you out of your own mouth, you evil bondservant. You knew that I am an austere man, lifting up from what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? ²³ Then why did you not give my silver to the bank, and when I came back, I would have appropriated it together with interest?
²⁴ And he said to those standing beside him, Take away the two-hundred denarius coin from him, and give it to the one who has the ten two-hundred denarius coins.
²⁵ And they said to him, Lord, he has ten two-hundred denarius coins. Why?
²⁶ For I say to you, that to everyone who has, will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away from him. ²⁷ However my enemies, those men who did not wish that I should reign over them, lead them here and slaughter them before me.


²⁸ And having said these things, he was traveling on before them, going up to Jerusalem.
²⁹ And it happened, as he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, toward the mountain which is called Olives, he sent two of his disciples, ³⁰ saying, Go into the village in front of me; in which, traveling to it; you will find a colt that has been tied, on which no man has sat at any time. Lead it here; having loosed him. ³¹ And if anyone asks you, Why are you loosening him? You will say to him thus, The Lord has need of him. ³² Now those who have been sent went away, and found just-as he had said to them.
³³ And while loosening the colt, its lords said to them, Why are you loosening the colt?
³⁴ Now they said, The Lord has need of it. ³⁵ And they lead it to Jesus, and having tossed forth their own garments upon the colt, they mounted Jesus upon it. \ulnone\nosupersub ³⁶ Now while traveling there, they were spreading their garments in the road. ³⁷ Now as he was already drawing near, even to the slope of the Mountain of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began rejoicing, and to praise God with a loud voice concerning all the miracles which they had seen; ³⁸ saying, The King who is coming in the name of the Lord has been blessed; peace in heaven and glory in the highest.
³⁹ And some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to him, Teacher, rebuke your disciples.
⁴⁰ And he answered and said to them, I say to you, that if these disciples are silent, then the stones will be crying out.
⁴¹ And as he drew near, he saw the city and wept over it, ⁴² saying, If you had known in this day, even you, for-sure, the things which are for your peace! But now they were hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ Because the days will be coming upon you, and your enemies will put a military-barrier around you and will surround you, and will crowd you on every-side, ⁴⁴ and will be leveling you to the bedrock, and your children among you, and they will not be leaving in you one stone upon another stone, because you did not know the time of your visitation.

¹¹ And he sent yet a different bondservant, and they also whipped and dishonored him, and sent him away empty. ¹² And he sent yet a third, and they also traumatized him and cast him forth. ¹³ But the lord of the vineyard said, What should I do? I will be sending my beloved son; perchance seeing him, they will be revering him. ¹⁴ But when the farmers saw him, they were reasoning with themselves, saying, This is the heir. Come-here. We should kill him, in order that the inheritance may become ours.

¹⁵ The Jews, who both killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and banished us, and were not pleasing to God, and are adverse to all men;

⁷ And whenever they completed their testimony, the beast which is ascending out of the abyss, will make war with them and overcome them and kill them. ⁸ And the corpse s of them lay in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunken from the blood of the holy-ones and from the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And I marveled when I saw her– with great marvel!

⁷ then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them. And this house, which I have made holy for my name, will I cast out of my sight. And Israel will be a proverb and a parable among all peoples.

²⁰ then I will pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them. And this house, which I have made holy for my name, I will cast out of my sight and I will make it a proverb and a parable among all peoples.
²¹ And this house, which is so high, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and will say, Why has Jehovah done thus to this land and to this house?

²⁴ Pour out your indignation upon them and let the fierceness of your anger overtake them.

¹⁰ Your holy cities have become a wilderness. Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. ¹¹ Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised you, is burned with fire and all our pleasant places are laid waste.
¹² Will you restrain yourself for these things, O Jehovah? Will you hold your peace and afflict us very severely?

⁹ Will you* steal, murder and commit adultery and swear falsely and burn incense to Baal and walk after other gods that you* have not known, ¹⁰ and then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name and say, We are delivered, that you* may do all these abominations?
¹¹ Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your* eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, says Jehovah.
¹² But go now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
¹³ And now, because you* have done all these works, says Jehovah. And I spoke to you*, rising up early and speaking, but you* heard not and I called you*, but you* answered not, ¹⁴ therefore I will do to the house, which is called by my name, in which you* trust and to the place which I gave to you* and to your* fathers, as I did to Shiloh.

⁵ But if you* will not hear these words, I swear by myself, says Jehovah, that this house will become a desolation.

²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks the anointed one will be cut off and will have nothing. And the people of the prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary and the end of it will be with a flood. And even to the end will be war; desolations are determined.

¹ Open your doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour your cedars. ² Wail, O fir tree, for the cedar has fallen, because the fine ones are destroyed. Wail, O you* oaks of Bashan, for the strong forest has come down.

⁶ For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, says Jehovah. But behold, I will deliver the men each one into his neighbor's hand and into the hand of his king. And they will kill* the land and I will not deliver them out of their hand.

¹ Behold, a day of Jehovah comes when your spoil will be divided in the midst of you. ² For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle. And the city will be taken and the houses rifled and the women ravished and half of the city will go forth into captivity. And the residue of the people will not be cut off from the city.

² But Jesus said to them, Do you not see all these things? Assuredly I am saying to you, One stone may not be left here upon another stone, which will not be torn-down.

¹⁴ But whenever you behold the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing where it ought not to be (let the one who is reading perceive), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains;

³⁵ Behold, your house is left to you desolate and I say to you, that you may never see me, until the time will come whenever you say, He who is coming in the name of the Lord has been blessed.

⁶ As for these things which you are viewing, the days will be coming in which one stone will not be left here upon another stone, that will not be torn-down.

²⁰ But whenever you behold Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that her desolation has drawn near.

²⁴ And they will be falling by the edge of the sword and will be captured into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles should be fulfilled.

¹³ And false witnesses stood up, who said, This man is not ceasing to speak blasphemous declarations against this holy place and the law; ¹⁴ for we have heard him saying, that this Jesus the Nazarene will be tearing-down this place and will be changing the customs which Moses gave to us.

²⁶ He who comes in the name of Jehovah is blessed. We have blessed you* out of the house of Jehovah.

⁹ O you who tell good news to Zion, get up on a high mountain. O you who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength. Lift it up, do not be afraid, say to the cities of Judah, Behold, your* God!
¹⁰ Behold, the lord Jehovah will come as a mighty one and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him and his recompense before him. ¹¹ He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those who have their young.

⁴ For the sons of Israel will abide many days without king and without ruler and without sacrifice and without pillar and without ephod or household-idol.

¹⁰ And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication. And they will look to me whom they have pierced. And they will mourn for him, as a man mourns for his only son and will be in bitterness for him, as a man who is in bitterness for his firstborn.

⁹ Now the crowds who precede him and who are following him, were crying, saying, ‘Hosanna to the son of David. He who is coming in the name of the Lord has been blessed.’Hosanna in the highest.’

²⁶ And it was divinely-spoken to him from the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death, before he should see the Lord’s Christ. ²⁷ And he came in the Spirit into the temple, while the parents brought in the child Jesus, that they might do according to the custom of the law concerning him. ²⁸ Then he accepted him into his arms and thanked God and said, ²⁹ Now Master, dismiss your bondservant according to your word in peace, ³⁰ because my eyes have seen your salvation

²² And having turned to the disciples, he said, All things have been given to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son and he to whomever the Son wills to reveal him.
²³ And having turned to the disciples, he said privately, The eyes which see what you see are fortunate.

²² Now he said to the disciples, The days will be coming, when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.

²¹ Therefore Jesus said again to them, I am going away and you will be seeking me and will be dying in your sin; where I am going, you are not able to come.

²⁴ Therefore I said to you, that you will be dying in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am, you will be dying in your sins.

⁵⁶ Your father Abraham was glad that he might see my day, and he saw it and rejoiced.

⁹ Jesus says to him, So-much time I have been with you and you have not known me Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. And how can you say this? Show us the Father.

¹⁹ Still a little while and the world views me no more, but you view me, because I am living, you will also be living.

²⁵ For brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant of this mystery (that you may not be too prudent with yourselves), that a hardening has become partially to Israel, till the fullness of the Gentiles should enter;

¹⁴ But their minds were hardened; for till today, the same veil remains upon the public-reading of the old covenant, not being unveiled, something which is being done-away in Christ. ¹⁵ But until this day, when Moses is read, a veil is laying upon their heart. ¹⁶ But whenever one has turned to the Lord, the veil is taken away. ¹⁷ Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. ¹⁸ But we all, with our face having been unveiled, seeing the reflection of the glory of the Lord for ourselves, are being transfigured into the same image from glory into glory, just-as from the Lord, the Spirit.
