²¹ For then will be great affliction, such-as has not happened from the beginning of the world until now, nor may never happen again.

²² Let their table be a trap before them, and to those at peace, let it be a snare.
²³ Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see and bow down their back continually.
²⁴ Pour out your indignation upon them and let the fierceness of your anger overtake them. ²⁵ Let their habitation be desolate. Let none dwell in their tents.
²⁶ Because they persecute he whom you have struck and they tell of the sorrow of those whom you have wounded. ²⁷ Add iniquity to their iniquity and do not let them come into your righteousness.
²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of life and not be written with the righteous.

¹² I will destine you* to the sword and you* will all bow down to the slaughter. Because when I called, you* did not answer, when I spoke, you* did not hear, but you* did what was evil in my eyes and chose that in which I did not delight.
¹³ Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah, Behold, my servants will eat, but you* will be hungry. Behold, my servants will drink, but you* will be thirsty. Behold, my servants will rejoice, but you* will be put to shame. ¹⁴ Behold, my servants will sing for joy of heart, but you* will cry for sorrow of heart and will wail for vexation of spirit. ¹⁵ And you* will leave your* name for a curse to my chosen and the lord Jehovah will kill you.
And he will call his servants by another name, ¹⁶ so that he who graces himself in the earth will bless himself in the God of truth and he who swears in the earth will swear by the God of truth. Because the former troubles are forgotten and because they are hid from my eyes.

¹⁵ For, behold, Jehovah will come with fire and his chariots will be like the whirlwind, to render his anger with fierceness and his rebuke with flames of fire. ¹⁶ For by fire Jehovah will execute judgment and by his sword, upon all flesh and the slain of Jehovah will be many.

²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks the anointed one will be cut off and will have nothing. And the people of the prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary and the end of it will be with a flood. And even to the end will be war; desolations are determined.

¹ And at that time Michael will stand up, the great prince who stands for the sons of your people. And there will be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time. And at that time your people will be delivered, everyone who will be found written in the book.

² Hear this, you* old men and listen, all you* inhabitants of the land. Has this been in your* days, or in the days of your* fathers?

² a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, as the dawn spreads upon the mountains, a great people and a strong, there has not been the like, everlasting, nor will be any more after them, even to the years of generations to generations.

⁸ And I cut off the three shepherds in one month, for my soul was weary of them and their soul also loathed me. ⁹ Then I said, I will not feed you*. What dies, let it die and what is to be cut off, let it be cut off and let those who are left eat each one the flesh of another.

² For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle. And the city will be taken and the houses rifled and the women ravished and half of the city will go forth into captivity. And the residue of the people will not be cut off from the city.
³ Then Jehovah will go forth and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

¹ For, behold, the day comes, it burns as a furnace and all the proud and all who work wickedness, will be stubble. And the day that comes will burn them up, says Jehovah of hosts, that it will leave them neither root nor branch.

²⁹ But immediately after the affliction of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not be giving her radiance, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;

⁹ But you yourselves, beware, they will be giving you up to councils, and you will be whipped in synagogues and you will be standing in front of governors and kings, because of me, for a testimony to them.

⁴³ Because the days will be coming upon you, and your enemies will put a military-barrier around you and will surround you, and will crowd you on every-side, ⁴⁴ and will be leveling you to the bedrock, and your children among you, and they will not be leaving in you one stone upon another stone, because you did not know the time of your visitation.

²⁴ And they will be falling by the edge of the sword and will be captured into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles should be fulfilled.

¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles in order that they might be saved; that they should always fill up their sins, but the wrath has arrived-unexpectedly upon them–to the end.

²⁶ For when we sin willfully after the receiving of the full knowledge of the truth, then a sacrifice is left no more for us concerning sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful expectancy of judgment and a zeal of fire which is about to eat the adversaries. ²⁸ Anyone who has rejected the Law of Moses, dies without mercy upon the word of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ How much worse punishment, do you think he will be deemed worthy of, after having trampled under foot the Son of God, and having deemed the blood of the covenant in which he was made holy as common, and having insulted the Spirit of the grace?
