¹ Now since he had fulfilled all his declarations in the ears of the people, he entered into Capernaum. ² Now a certain centurion’s bondservant, who was precious to him, being ill, was about to die. ³ Now having heard things concerning Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews; requesting of him, that he might come and might save his bondservant. ⁴ Now when they came to Jesus, they were pleading with him diligently, saying, He is worthy that you will be providing this for him; ⁵ for he loves our nation and he built us our synagogue.
⁶ Now Jesus was traveling together with them. Now already, when he was not far distant from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, Lord, do not be bothered; for I am not sufficient that you should enter under my roof. ⁷ Hence, not even I myself deemed it worthy to come to you, but say it with a word, and my young-servant will be healed. ⁸ For I am also a man appointed under authority, having soldiers under myself, and I say to this one, Travel and he travels, and to another, Come and he comes, and to my bondservant, Do this and he does it.
⁹ Now having heard these things, Jesus marveled at him and turned and said to the crowd who followed him, I say to you, Not even in Israel, have I found so-great a faith. ¹⁰ And those who were sent, having returned to the house, found the sick bondservant healthy.


¹¹ And it happened on the next day, that he was traveling to a city called Nain, and his considerable number of disciples and a large crowd was traveling together with him. ¹² Now as he drew near to the gate of the city, behold also, one who had died, was being entombed, the only begotten son of his mother and she was a widow and a considerable crowd from the city was together with her. ¹³ And the Lord, having seen her, had compassion upon her and said to her, Do not weep. ¹⁴ And he came near and touched the funeral bier, and those bearing it stopped. Now he said, Young-man, I say to you, Arise.
¹⁵ And he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother. ¹⁶ Now fear took all and they were glorifying God, saying, A great prophet has arisen among us, and that God has visited his people. ¹⁷ And this word went forth concerning him in the whole region of Judea, and in all the region around.


¹⁸ And the disciples of John reported to him concerning all these things. ¹⁹ And John, having called to him a certain two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, Are you he who is coming or are we expecting another?
²⁰ Now when the men came to him, they said, John the Immerser has sent us to you, saying, Are you he who is coming or are we expecting another? ²¹ He healed many of diseases and disorders and evil spirits in the same hour, and he granted to many of the blind to see.
²² And Jesus answered and said to them, When you have traveled back, report to John the things which you have seen and heard; that the blind recover their sight, the lame are walking, the lepers are cleansed and the mute hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the good-news proclaimed to them. ²³ And the fortunate one is whoever is not offended in me.
²⁴ Now when the messengers of John went away, he began to say to the crowds concerning John, What have you come out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? ²⁵ But what have you come out to see? A man having been dressed-up in soft garments? Behold, those who are in glorious garments and being in splendor, are in the royal courts. ²⁶ But what have you come out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, And more-than a prophet. ²⁷ This is he concerning whom it has been written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will be preparing your way before you. ²⁸ For I say to you, Among those born of women there is no prophet greater than John the Immerser; yet he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. ²⁹ And all the people and the tax collectors, having heard this, having been immersed in the immersion of John, made righteous by God. ³⁰ But the Pharisees and the professors of the law rejected the plan of God for themselves, having not been immersed by him. ³¹ Therefore to what shall be similar to the men of this generation, and to what are they similar? ³² They are similar to children who are sitting in the marketplace and are shouting to one another and saying, We piped to you and you did not dance; we mourned for you and you did not weep. ³³ For John the Immerser has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, He has a demon. ³⁴ The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners! ³⁵ And wisdom was made righteous from all her children.


³⁶ Now someone from the Pharisees asked him, in order that he might eat with him. And having entered into the Pharisee’s house, he reclined at a meal. \ulnone\nosupersub ³⁷ And behold, a woman who was in the city, who was a sinner, when she recognized that he is reclining at a meal in the Pharisee’s house, she fetched an alabaster flask of perfume, ³⁸ and standing beside his feet behind him, weeping, she began to rain on his feet with her tears and was wiping them with the hairs of her head and was kissing his feet, and was anointing them with the perfume. ³⁹ Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he spoke in himself, saying, This one, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.
⁴⁰ And Jesus answered and said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you.
But he says, Teacher, say it.
⁴¹ There was two debtors to a lender: a certain one was owing five hundred denarii and the other fifty. ⁴² But when they did not have anything to repay him with, he forgave them both. Therefore, tell me which of them will love him most?
⁴³ But Simon answered and said, I am taking it as, he to whom he forgave the most.
But he said to him, You have judged correctly.
⁴⁴ And turning to the woman, he said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, you gave me no water for my feet, but she has rained on my feet with her tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head. ⁴⁵ You gave me no kiss, but, from the time I came in she has continually kissed my feet. ⁴⁶ You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with perfume. ⁴⁷ Because of which, I say to you, Her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, because she loved much, but to whom few is forgiven, the same loves few. ⁴⁸ Now he said to her, Your sins have been forgiven.
⁴⁹ And those who reclined at the meal together with him began to speak among themselves, Who is this one, who forgives even sins?
⁵⁰ But he said to the woman, Your faith has saved you. Travel in peace.

²⁸ And it happened, when Jesus had completed with these words, the crowds were being astounded at his teaching; ²⁹ for he was teaching them like one having authority and not like the scribes.

⁵ Now when Jesus entered into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, pleading with him, ⁶ and saying, Lord, my young-servant, a paralytic, has been put in the house, terribly tormented.
⁷ And Jesus says to him, I will come and will heal him.
⁸ And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not sufficient that you should come under my roof, but only speak by word and my young-servant will be healed. ⁹ For I am a man also under authority, having soldiers under me and I say to this one, Travel on and he travels on, and to another, Come and he comes, and to my bondservant, Do this and he does it.
¹⁰ Now when Jesus heard it, he marveled and said to those who followed, Assuredly I am saying to you, I have not found so-great a faith, not even in Israel. ¹¹ But I am saying to you, that many will be coming from the east and the west, and will be reclining with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens; ¹² but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness–the weeping and the gnashing of teeth will be there. ¹³ Now Jesus said to the centurion, Go, and as you have believed, let it happen for you. And his young-servant was healed in that hour.

² And Abraham said to his servant, the elder of his house, who ruled over all that he had, I beseech you, put your hand under my thigh. ³ And I will make you swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell. ⁴ But you will go to my country and to my kindred and take a wife for my son Isaac.
⁵ And the servant said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I bring your son again to the land from where you came? ⁶ And Abraham said to him, You beware that you not bring my son there again. ⁷ Jehovah, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my nativity and who spoke to me and who swore to me, saying, To your seed I will give this land. He will send his messenger before you and you will take a wife for my son from there.
⁸ And if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be clear from this my oath. Only you will not bring my son there again. ⁹ And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master and swore to him concerning this matter.
¹⁰ And the servant took ten camels, of the camels of his master and departed, having all good things of his master's in his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor. ¹¹ And he made the camels to kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time that women go out to draw water.
¹² And he said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, I beseech you, cause her to meet before me this day and show kindness to my master Abraham. ¹³ Behold, I am standing by the fountain of water. And the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water. ¹⁴ And let it happen, that the maiden to whom I will say, I beseech you, let down your pitcher, that I may drink.
And she will say, Drink and I will also give your camels drink. Let it be her, the one you have appointed for your servant Isaac. And I will know that you have shown kindness to my master by this.

²⁷ And he said, Praise Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his loving kindness and his truth toward my master, I being in the way, Jehovah has led me to the house of my master's brothers.

³⁵ And Jehovah has blessed my master greatly and he has become great. And he has given him flocks and herds and silver and gold and men-servants and maid-servants and camels and donkeys. ³⁶ And Sarah my master's wife bore a son to my master when she was old. And to him he has he given all that he has.
³⁷ And my master made me swear, saying, You will not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell, ³⁸ but you will go to my father's house and to my kindred and take a wife for my son.
³⁹ And I said to my master, Perhaps the woman will not follow me.
⁴⁰ And he said to me, Jehovah, before whom I walk, will send his messenger with you and prosper your way. And you will take a wife for my son of my kindred and of my father's house. ⁴¹ Then you will be clear from my oath, when you come to my kindred. And if they do not give her to you, you will be clear from my oath.
⁴² And I came this day to the fountain and said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, I pray, if you will, prosper the way on which I am now going, ⁴³ behold, I am standing by the fountain of water and let it happen, that the maiden who comes out to draw, to whom I will say, I beseech you, give me a little water from your pitcher to drink, ⁴⁴ and she will say to me, Both drink you and I will also draw for your camels, let her be the woman whom Jehovah has appointed for my master's son.
⁴⁵ And before I was done speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came out with her pitcher on her shoulder. And she went down to the fountain and drew. And I said to her, Let me drink, I beseech you. ⁴⁶ And she made haste and let down her pitcher from her shoulder and said, Drink and I will also give your camels drink. So I drank and she also made the camels drink.
⁴⁷ And I asked her and said, Whose daughter are you? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bore to him. And I put the ring upon her nose and the bracelets upon her hands. ⁴⁸ And I bowed my head and worshiped Jehovah and blessed Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter for his son. ⁴⁹ And now if you* will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me. And if not, tell me, that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.

⁸ And Deborah Rebekah's nurse died and she was buried below Bethel under the oak. And the name of it was called Allon-bacuth.

⁴ And Joseph found favor in his sight and he ministered to him. And he made him overseer over his house and all that he had, he put into his hand.
⁵ And it happened from the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, that Jehovah blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake. And the blessing of Jehovah was upon all that he had, in the house and in the field. ⁶ And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand and he knew nothing that was with him, save the bread which he ate. And Joseph was handsome and fine-looking.

² And the Syrians had gone out in bands and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maiden and she waited on Naaman's wife. ³ And she said to her mistress, Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would heal him of his leprosy.

⁵ If I have walked with falsehood and my foot has hastened to deceit

²¹ He who brings up his servant gently from childhood will have him become a son at the last.

⁵⁴ Now the centurion and those guarding Jesus with him, having seen the earthquake and the things which happened, were extremely afraid, saying, This one truly was the Son of God.

⁴² because there was to him an only begotten daughter, approximately twelve years old, and she was dying. But while he was going, the crowds were too close, choking him.

⁴⁷ Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, This really was a righteous man.

⁴⁶ Therefore, Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick in Capernaum. ⁴⁷ Having heard that Jesus is coming out of Judea into Galilee, he went toward him, and asked him in order that he might come down and might heal his son; for he was about to die.

² Now it was this Mary who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. ³ Therefore the sisters sent to him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom you love is sick.

¹ Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what is called the Italian cohort,

⁷ Now as the messenger, the one who had been speaking to Cornelius, went away, he summoned two of his domestic servants and a devout soldier of those who are persevering with him;

²⁶ But when the centurion heard it, he went to the commander and reported to him, saying, Behold, what are you about to do? For this man is a Roman.

¹⁷ Now Paul, having called one of the centurions, said, Lead this young-man away to the commander; for he has something to report to him.

¹ Now as it was decided for us to sail toward Italy, and they were giving to a centurion, Julius by name, from the Emperor’s cohort, Paul and some other prisoners.

³ And the next-day we brought the ship into Sidon and Julius treated Paul humanely and permitted him to travel to his friends and be cared for.

⁴³ But the centurion, planning to save Paul, did forbid them from the ir will, and commanded those who were able to swim to toss themselves over first and go out to land;

²² The bondservants: be obedient according to all things, those who are your lords according to the flesh; not in eye-services, like men-pleasers, but in clarity of heart, fearing God.

⁵ Now when Jesus entered into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, pleading with him,

⁴¹ And behold, a man whose name was Jairus came, and he possessed the office of ruler of the synagogue, and he fell beside Jesus’feet and was pleading with him to come into his house;

³⁸ And behold, a man from the crowd cried, saying, Teacher, I beseech of you to look upon my son, because he is my only begotten child.

⁴⁷ Having heard that Jesus is coming out of Judea into Galilee, he went toward him, and asked him in order that he might come down and might heal his son; for he was about to die.

¹⁰ I am encouraging you concerning my child, whom I have fathered in my bonds, Onesimus,

¹¹ Now into whatever city or village you enter, probe out who is worthy in it, and abide there until you should go.

¹³ And if indeed the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

³⁷ He who loves his father or mother above me is not worthy of me, and he who loves his son or daughter above me is not worthy of me. ³⁸ Now he who is not taking up his cross and following after me, is not worthy of me.

³⁵ But those who are deemed worthy into that world and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are they betrothed,

⁴ But you have a few names in Sardis who did not defile their garments and they will be walking with me in white, because they are worthy.

¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, for Hiram was ever a devotee of David.

³ Moreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, seeing that I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, ⁴ even three thousand talants of gold, of the gold of Ophir and seven thousand talants of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses, ⁵ of gold for the things of gold and of silver for the things of silver and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artisans. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself this day to Jehovah?
⁶ Then the rulers of the fathers and the rulers of the tribes of Israel and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king's work, offered willingly. ⁷ And they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talants and ten thousand 128-grain weights and of silver ten thousand talants and of brass eighteen thousand talants and of iron a hundred thousand talants. ⁸ And those with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of Jehovah under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
⁹ Then the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to Jehovah.
And David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

¹¹ Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because Jehovah loves his people, he has made you king over them. ¹² Huram said moreover, Praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, endued with discretion and understanding, that should build a house for Jehovah and a house for his kingdom.

²⁷ Praise Jehovah, the God of our fathers, who has put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of Jehovah which is in Jerusalem, ²⁸ and has extended loving kindness to me before the king and his counselors and before all the king's mighty rulers. And I was strengthened according to the hand of Jehovah my God upon me and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.

⁶ For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision prevails over anything in Christ Jesus, but faith working through love.

¹⁴ We know that we have stepped out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother is abiding in death.

¹⁸ My little-children, do not love in word, nor with the tongue, but in work and in truth. ¹⁹ And we know in this that we are from the truth and will persuade our hearts before him;

¹ Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born from God and everyone who loves the one who fathered us, also loves the one who has been born from him. ² We know in this that we love the children of God, whenever we love God and whenever we are keeping his commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, in order that we should keep his commandments and his commandments are not burdensome.

¹⁰ I am not worthy of the least of all the loving kindnesses and of all the truth, which you have shown to your servant, because with my staff I passed over this Jordan and now I have become two companies.

²³ A man's pride will bring him low, but he who is of a lowly spirit will obtain honor.

¹¹ I indeed immerse you in water toward repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not sufficient to bear. He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit;

²⁶ Assuredly I am saying to you, You may never come out from there, until you should have repaid the last copper coin.
²⁷ You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’

²⁸ just-like the Son of Man did not come to be served to, but to serve and to give his life as a redemption in exchange-for many.

²⁴ And he went with him.
And a large crowd was following him and they were pressing against him.

⁸ But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down before Jesus’knees, saying, Go away from me, because I am a man, a sinner, O Lord.

⁴ Now when they came to Jesus, they were pleading with him diligently, saying, He is worthy that you will be providing this for him;

⁴⁹ While still speaking, someone from the ruler of the synagogue’s house comes, saying, Your daughter has died; do not bother the Teacher.

¹⁹ I am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants. \ulnone\nosupersub ²⁰ And standing up, he came to his father. But while he was still distant, far from him, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell upon his neck and kissed him. ²¹ But the son said to him, Father, I have sinned at heaven, and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.

³⁸ Jesus who was from Nazareth; how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went through out the land working good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him.

⁶ But he is giving greater grace. Hence the Scripture says, ‘God resists the haughty, but gives grace to the humble.’

¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and he will be exalting you.

²⁶ And he said, If you will diligently listen to the voice of Jehovah your God and will do what is right in his eyes and will listen to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases upon you, which I have put upon the Egyptians, because I am Jehovah who heals you.

³⁹ See now that I, even I, am he and there is no god with me. I kill and I make alive. I wound and I heal. And there is none that can deliver out of my hand.

⁶ Jehovah kills and makes alive. He brings down to Sheol and brings up.

⁹ Because he spoke and it was done. He commanded and it stood fast.

²⁰ He sends his word and heals them and delivers them from their destructions.

²⁷ And they were all amazed, so-that they began to debate together with themselves, saying, What is this thing? What new teaching is this that he commands even the unclean spirits with authority, and they are obeying him.

³⁶ And amazement came upon all, and they were speaking together with one another, saying, What is this word, because he commands the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out?

¹³ And having stretched out his hand, he touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed. And immediately the leprosy went away from him.

⁷ Now as the messenger, the one who had been speaking to Cornelius, went away, he summoned two of his domestic servants and a devout soldier of those who are persevering with him; ⁸ and having described all these things to them, he sent them to Joppa.

²⁵ But as they stretched him out with the straps, Paul said to the centurion who is standing there, Is it legal for you to scourge a Roman man and uncondemned?
²⁶ But when the centurion heard it, he went to the commander and reported to him, saying, Behold, what are you about to do? For this man is a Roman.

²³ And having called to him a certain two of the centurions, he said, Prepare for the third hour of the night two hundred soldiers and seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen, that they should travel to Caesarea,

²⁶ Claudius Lysias to the most-excellent governor Felix. Hail to you.

²³ And he himself commanded the centurion to guard Paul and for him to have relief and to forbid none of his own to attend or come near to him.

²⁶ concerning whom, I do not have any certainty as what to write to my lord. Hence, I led him in front of you and especially in front of you, King Agrippa, that, when his examination happens, I may have something to write.

²² The bondservants: be obedient according to all things, those who are your lords according to the flesh; not in eye-services, like men-pleasers, but in clarity of heart, fearing God.

¹ As many as are bondservants under the yoke, let them deem their own masters worthy of all honor, in order that the name of God and the teaching may not be blasphemed. ² But those who have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren, but rather let them serve them, because they are believing and beloved who are being helped by your good work. Teach and encourage these things.

¹⁹ He shows his word to Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances to Israel. ²⁰ He has not dealt so with any nation. And as for his ordinances, they have not known them.
Praise Jehovah.

³³ And when the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke and the crowds marveled, saying, This was never so seen in Israel.

²⁸ Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great is your faith. Let it happen for you as you will it. And her daughter was healed from that hour.

¹ Therefore what is the supremacy of the Jew? Or what is the profit of circumcision? ² Much, according to every manner! For indeed, first, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God. ³ For what if some disbelieved? Their unbelief will be not doing-away-with the faith fulness of God, will it?

⁴ who are Israelites, whose is the sonship and the glory and the covenants and the institution of the law and the divine service and the promises; ⁵ whose are the fathers and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all: God is gracious forever. Amen.

¹³ Now Jesus said to the centurion, Go, and as you have believed, let it happen for you. And his young-servant was healed in that hour.

²³ Now Jesus said to him, If you are able to believe. All things are possible to the one who believes.

⁵⁰ Jesus says to him, Travel on; your son lives.
And the man believed the word in which Jesus spoke to him, and he was traveling on.
⁵¹ Now already while going down, his bondservants encountered him and reported, saying that his boy lives. ⁵² Therefore, he inquired from them the hour in which he had improved. And they said to him, The fever left him yesterday in the seventh hour. ⁵³ Therefore the father knew that it was in that hour in which Jesus said to him, Your son lives. And he himself, and his whole house believed.

² And he said, Take your son now, your only son, Isaac, whom you love and go into the land of Moriah. And offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of.

¹² And he said, Do not lay your hand upon the lad, neither do you anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.

⁷ And behold, the whole family is risen against your handmaid and they say, Deliver him who killed* his brother that we may kill him for the life of his brother whom he killed and so destroy the heir also. Thus they will quench my coal which is left and will leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the face of the earth.

⁹ Arise, get you to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.

¹² And she said, As Jehovah your God lives, I do not have a cake, but a handful of meal in the pitcher and a little oil in the jar. And behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son that we may eat it and die.

¹⁸ And she said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, O you man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to remembrance and to kill my son!

²³ And Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the chamber into the house and delivered him to his mother. And Elijah said, See, your son lives.

¹⁶ And he said, At this season, when the time comes round, you will embrace a son. And she said, No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your handmaid.

²⁰ And when he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon and then died.

¹³ The blessing of him who was ready to perish came upon me and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

¹⁰ And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication. And they will look to me whom they have pierced. And they will mourn for him, as a man mourns for his only son and will be in bitterness for him, as a man who is in bitterness for his firstborn.

⁵² Now all were weeping and grieving her. But he said, Do not weep; she is not dead, but is sleeping.

¹⁹ and many from the Jews had come to those around Martha and Mary, in order that they may console them concerning their brother.

³⁹ Now having stood up, Peter went together with them, those who had come to him, and they led him into the upstairs-room. And all the widows stood by him weeping and showing the tunics and garments; as many as Dorcas was making, when she was with them.

⁴¹ Now he gave her his hand and stood her up, and summoning the holy-ones and widows, he presented her as living.

⁴ But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to be devout toward their own family and to give back reimbursement to their parents; for this is acceptable in God’s sight. ⁵ Now she who really is a widow and has been left alone and has hoped in God and remains in supplications and prayers night and day.

²⁷ A clean and undefiled religion with our God and Father is this: to ^{F} visit ^{F} the orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

¹⁶ And they put away the foreign gods from among them and served Jehovah. And his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

⁵ Because you, Lord, are good and ready to forgive and abundant in loving kindness to all those who call upon you.

¹⁵ But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness and truth.

¹³ Like as a father pities his sons, So Jehovah pities those who fear him.

⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted and the messenger of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. And he bore them and carried them all the days of old.

¹⁵ Jehovah says thus: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel weeping for her children, she refused to be comforted for her children, because they are not.
¹⁶ Jehovah says thus: Refrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded, says Jehovah and they will come again from the land of the enemy.

²⁰ Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him. I will surely have mercy upon him, says Jehovah.

³² For though he causes grief, yet he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses. ³³ For he does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the sons of men.

² I have compassion upon the crowd, because they already remain with me for three days and do not have anything that they might eat.

¹⁹ And John, having called to him a certain two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, Are you he who is coming or are we expecting another?

¹ Now after these things, the Lord also delegated seventy others, and sent them two apiece into every city and place before his face, where he himself was about to go.

¹⁵ Therefore the Lord answered him and said, You hypocrites, does not each of you on the Sabbath loose his bull or his donkey from the manger and having led him away, give it a drink?

⁵ And the apostles said to the Lord, Add to our faith.

⁶¹ And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter was reminded of the word of the Lord, how that he said to him, Before the rooster crow, you will be denying me three-times.

³⁴ saying, The Lord was really raised and was seen by Simon.

² Now it was this Mary who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.

³³ Therefore, as Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping who came together with her, he sighed in the spirit and was disturbed, ³⁴ and said, Where have you laid him?
They say to him, Lord, come and behold.
³⁵ Jesus shed-tears.

¹³ And they say to her, Woman, why are you weeping?
She says to them, They took my Lord and I do not know where they have laid him.

¹⁵ Jesus says to her, Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?
That woman, thinking that it is the gardener, says to him, Lord, if you bore him away from here, tell me where you have laid him and I will take him.

³⁰ and those who weep, as though not weeping, and those who rejoice, as though not rejoicing, and those who buy, as though not having;

¹³ But brethren, we do not wish you to be ignorant concerning those who have fallen-asleep; in order that you may not be sorrowful like the rest who have no hope.

¹⁷ Hence he was obligated to have been similar to his brethren according to all things, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high-priest in the things pertaining to God, that he should make atonement for the sins of the people.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high-priest who is unable to sympathize together with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted according to all things according to our likeness, yet without sin.

²¹ And he stretched himself upon the child three times and cried to Jehovah and said, O Jehovah my God, I beseech you, let this child's soul come into him again.

¹² so man lies down and does not rise. Till the heavens be no more, they will not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep.

¹⁴ If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my warfare I would wait till my release should come.

¹⁹ Your dead will live. My dead bodies will arise. Awake and sing, you* who dwell in the dust, for your dew is as the dew of herbs and the earth will cast forth the dead.

³ And he said to me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O lord Jehovah, you know.
⁴ Again he said to me, Prophesy over these bones and say to them, O you* dry bones, hear the word of Jehovah. ⁵ The lord Jehovah says thus to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you* and you* will live. ⁶ And I will lay muscles upon you* and will bring up flesh upon you* and cover you* with skin and put breath in you* and you* will live.
And you* will know that I am Jehovah.
⁷ So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, an earthquake and the bones came together, bone to its bone. ⁸ And I beheld, and behold, there were muscles upon them and flesh came up and skin covered them above, but there was no breath in them.
⁹ Then he said to me, Prophesy to the wind. Prophesy, son of man and say to the wind, The lord Jehovah says thus: Come from the four winds, O breath and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
¹⁰ So I prophesied as he commanded me and the breath came into them and they lived and stood up upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

⁵⁴ But he, having cast everyone outside and taking-hold of her hand, shouted, saying, Child, arise. ⁵⁵ And her spirit returned, and she rose up instantly, and he commanded that something be given to her to eat.

²¹ For just-like the Father raises up the dead and is giving-life to them, so the Son also is giving-life to whom he wills.

²⁵ Assuredly, assuredly, I am saying to you, The hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

²⁸ Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs will be hearing his voice, ²⁹ and will travel out; those who have practiced good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

²⁵ Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, even if he dies, he will be living;

⁴³ And having said these things, he cried-out with a loud voice, Lazarus, come-here! Come outside! ⁴⁴ And he came out, the one who had died, having been bound hand and foot with burial wrappings, and his vision had been bound around with a handkerchief. Jesus says to them, Loose him and allow him to go away.

⁴⁰ But when Peter cast them all outside; having placed his knees down, he prayed, and having turned again to the body, he said, Tabitha, rise up. And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴¹ Now he gave her his hand and stood her up, and summoning the holy-ones and widows, he presented her as living.

¹⁷ (as it has been written, ‘I have placed you as a father of many nations’), in front of God, the one whom he believed, who is giving-life to the dead and is calling the things which are not, as though they are.

¹² for it is shameful even to speak of the things happening by them covertly.

²³ And Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the chamber into the house and delivered him to his mother. And Elijah said, See, your son lives. ²⁴ And the woman said to Elijah, Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of Jehovah in your mouth is truth.

³² And when Elisha came into the house, behold, the child was dead and laid upon his bed. ³³ He went in therefore and shut the door upon the two of them and prayed to Jehovah.
³⁴ And he went up and lay upon the child and put his mouth upon his mouth and his eyes upon his eyes and his hands upon his hands. And he stretched himself upon him and the flesh of the child grew warm. ³⁵ Then he returned and walked in the house once to and fro and went up and stretched himself upon him. And the child sneezed seven times and the child opened his eyes.
³⁶ And he called Gehazi and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she came in to him, he said, Take up your son. ³⁷ Then she went in and fell at his feet and bowed herself to the ground. And she took up her son and went out.

²¹ And it happened, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band and they cast the man into the sepulcher of Elisha. And as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood up on his feet.

³¹ And the people believed. And when they heard that Jehovah had visited the sons of Israel and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

⁹ You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it. The river of God is full of water. You provide them grain because you have so prepared the earth.

⁴ Remember me, O Jehovah, with the favor that you bear to your people. O visit me with your salvation, ⁵ that I may see the prosperity of your chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.

⁹ And this city will be to me for a name of joy, for a praise and for a glory, before all the nations of the earth, which will hear all the good that I do to them and will fear and tremble for all the good and for all the peace that I procure to it.

⁸ Now when the crowds saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

³¹ so-that the crowds marveled, seeing the mute speaking; the crippled healthy; the lame walking; and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

¹¹ But the crowds were saying, This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.

⁸ And having gone out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to report to his disciples.

⁶⁵ And fear became upon all those dwelling around them and all these declarations were being talked-about in the whole hill-country of Judea.

⁶⁸ The Lord, the God of Israel is gracious. Because he has visited and made redemption for his people,

²⁰ And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God in all the things which they had heard and seen, just-as it was spoken to them.

²⁶ And astonishment took all and they were glorifying God, and they were filled with fear, saying, We have seen glorious things today.

³⁹ Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he spoke in himself, saying, This one, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.

³⁷ And all the multitude of the region around the Gadarenes asked him to go away from them, because they were being held by great fear, and he stepped into the ship and returned.

¹⁹ But they answered and said, John the Immerser, but others say, Elijah, and others, that someone from the ancient prophets has risen.

⁴⁴ and will be leveling you to the bedrock, and your children among you, and they will not be leaving in you one stone upon another stone, because you did not know the time of your visitation.

¹⁹ And he said to them, What things?
But they said to him, The things concerning Jesus from Nazareth, who became a prophet, a mighty man in works and word in front of God and all the people;

²¹ And they asked him, Therefore, what? Are you Elijah?
And he says, I am not.
Are you the prophet?
And he answered, No.

²⁵ And they asked him, and said to him, Therefore why do you immerse, if you are not the Christ, neither Elijah, nor the prophet?

¹⁹ The woman says to him, Lord, I view that you are a prophet.

¹⁴ Therefore, when the people saw the sign which Jesus did, they were saying, This truly is the prophet who is coming into the world.

⁴⁰ Therefore many out of the crowd, having heard the word, said, This is truly the prophet.
⁴¹ Others were saying, This is the Christ. Others were saying, The Christ does not come out of Galilee, does he?

¹⁷ They say to the blind man again, What do you say concerning him, in that he opened your eyes?
Now he said, He is a prophet.

²² Moses indeed said to the fathers, The Lord our God will rise up for you a prophet from among your brethren, like me. You will listen to him according to all things, as many things as he may speak to you. ²³ And it will be, that every soul if it does not listen to that prophet, will be utterly destroyed from among the people.

⁵ But Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and expired, and there became great fear upon all those who heard these things.

¹¹ Now there became great fear upon the whole congregation and upon all who are hearing these things.
¹² Now through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were happening among the people, and they were all united at Solomon’s porch. ¹³ But none of the rest were daring to join himself to them, but the people were extolling them;

³⁷ This is that Moses, who said to the sons of Israel, The Lord our God will raise up to you a prophet out of your brethren, like me.

²⁴ And they were glorifying God with me.

²⁴ And the report of him went forth into the whole of Syria and they brought to him all who were ill, held by various diseases and torments and demon-possessed and epileptic and paralytics, and he healed them.

²⁶ And this fame went forth into that whole land.

³¹ But they went forth and broadcasted about him in that whole land.

²⁸ Now the report of him went out immediately, into the whole region around Galilee.

¹⁴ And King Herod heard of this; for his name had become apparent and he said, John the Immerser was raised from the dead and because of this, these powers are working in him.

¹⁴ And he came near and touched the funeral bier, and those bearing it stopped. Now he said, Young-man, I say to you, Arise.

² Now when John heard the works of the Christ while in prison, he sent two of his disciples ³ and said to him, Are you the one who is coming, or should we expect a different one?
⁴ And Jesus answered and said to them, When you travel back, report to John what you hear and see: ⁵ the blind recover their sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised and the poor have the good-news proclaimed to them. ⁶ And whoever is not offended at me is fortunate.
⁷ Now while these disciples are traveling on, Jesus began to say to the crowds concerning John, What did you come out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? ⁸ But what did you go out to see? A man who has been dressed-up in soft garments? Behold, those who are wearing soft garments are in royal houses. ⁹ But why did you go out? To see a prophet? I say to you, Yes, and one who is more-than a prophet. ¹⁰ For this is he, concerning whom it has been written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will be preparing your way before you.’ ¹¹ Assuredly I am saying to you, A greater man has not arisen among those born from women than John the Immerser. But he who is least in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he. ¹² But from the days of John the Immerser until now the kingdom of the heavens suffers-violently and the violent ones seize it. ¹³ For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. ¹⁴ And if you are willing to accept it, he himself is Elijah, who is the one about to come. ¹⁵ He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
¹⁶ But to what shall be similar to this generation? It is similar to children sitting in the marketplaces and shouting to their comrades ¹⁷ and saying, We piped to you and you did not dance. We mourned for you and yet you did not grieve for yourselves. ¹⁸ For John came neither eating nor drinking and they say, He has a demon. ¹⁹ The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they say, Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners! And wisdom was made righteous from her children.

²⁶ And they came to John and said to him, Rabbi, he who was with you beyond-that area of the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, this one immerses and all men are going to him.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel.

¹⁸ and in your seed will all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.

¹⁰ The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and to him will the obedience of the peoples be.

¹⁵ Jehovah your God will raise up for you a prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, like me. You* will listen to him, ¹⁶ according to all that you desired of Jehovah your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Do not let me hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die. ¹⁷ And Jehovah said to me, They have well said what they have spoken.
¹⁸ I will raise up a prophet for them from among their brothers, like you. And I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them all that I will command him.

¹ And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men as spies secretly, saying, Go, view the land and Jericho. And they went and came into the house of a prostitute whose name was Rahab and lay down there.

¹ Jehovah says to my Lord, Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool. ² Jehovah will send forth the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies. ³ Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power, in holy array. Out of the womb of the morning you have the dew of your youth.
⁴ Jehovah has sworn and will not repent. You are a everlasting priest after the order of Melchizedek.

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord himself will give you* a sign: Behold, a virgin will conceive and bear a son and will call his name Immanuel.

⁶ For to us a child is born, to us a son is given. And the government will be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from hereafter until everlasting. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

¹ And there will come out a shoot out of the stock of Jesse. And a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.

¹⁰ Behold, the lord Jehovah will come as a mighty one and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him and his recompense before him. ¹¹ He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those who have their young.

²⁰ And he who redeems will come to Zion and to those who turn from transgression in Jacob, says Jehovah.
²¹ And as for me, this is my covenant with them, says Jehovah: My Spirit that is upon you and my words which I have put in your mouth, will not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your seed, nor out of the mouth of your seed's seed, says Jehovah, from now and until everlasting.

⁵ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch and he will reign as king and deal wisely and will execute justice and righteousness in the land. ⁶ In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will dwell safely. And this is his name by which he will be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish transgression and to make an end of sins and to make reconciliation for iniquity and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.
²⁵ Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the anointed one, the Prince, will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be built again, with street and moat, even in troublesome times.
²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks the anointed one will be cut off and will have nothing. And the people of the prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary and the end of it will be with a flood. And even to the end will be war; desolations are determined.

² But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, which are little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of you he will come out to me who is to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from long-ago, from the days of everlasting.

⁷ And I will shake all nations and the delight of all nations will come and I will fill this house with glory, says Jehovah of hosts.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion. Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem. Behold, your king comes to you. He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding upon a donkey, even upon a colt the foal of a donkey.

¹ Behold, I send my messenger and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord, whom you* seek, will suddenly come to his temple. And the messenger of the covenant, whom you* desire, behold, he comes, says Jehovah of hosts. ² But who can abide the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire and like launder's soap.
³ And he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. And he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them as gold and silver. And they will offer to Jehovah offerings in righteousness.

² But to you* who fear my name the sun of righteousness will arise with healing in its wings and you* will go forth and frolic as calves of the stall.

⁷ And he calls to him the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and he was giving them authority over the unclean spirits;

²⁵ The woman says to him, I know that the Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). Whenever he comes, that man will be proclaiming all things to us.

³ And I will be giving to my two witnesses and they will be prophesying one thousand two hundred and sixty days, having been dressed in sackcloth.

³⁷ If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight, mildew, locust or caterpillar, if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities, whatever plague, whatever sickness there be,

⁷ Because we are consumed in your anger and in your wrath are we troubled. ⁸ You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your countenance.
⁹ Because all our days are passed away in your wrath. We bring our years to an end as a sigh.

²³ And Jesus was going around the whole of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good-news of the kingdom and healing every kind of disease and every kind of illness among the people.

¹⁰ for he healed many; so-that as many as had disorders fell upon him, in order that they might touch him.

²⁹ And immediately the spring of her blood was dried up, and she knew that she had been healed from the disorder in her body.

³⁴ And he said to her, Daughter, your faith has saved you; go in peace and be healthy from your disorder.

³⁰ Because of this, many among you are weak and sick and a considerable number fall-asleep. ³¹ For if we were discerning ourselves, we would not be judged. ³² But being judged, we are disciplined by the Lord, in order that we should not be condemned together with the world.

⁶ For whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and scourges every son whom he is accepting.’

¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? Let him invite the elders of the congregation, and let them pray over him, having anointed him with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the vow of the faith will save the one who is weary and the Lord will lift him up, even if he has been practicing sins, it will be forgiven him.

¹⁵ I was eyes to the blind and I was feet to the lame.

⁸ Jehovah opens the eyes of the blind. Jehovah raises up those who are bowed down. Jehovah loves the righteous.

¹⁸ And in that day the deaf will hear the words of the book and the eyes of the blind will see out of obscurity and out of darkness. ¹⁹ The meek also will increase their joy in Jehovah and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

³ And the eyes of those who see will not be dim and the ears of those who hear will listen. ⁴ And the heart of the rash will understand knowledge and the tongue of the stammerers will be ready to speak plainly.

⁵ Then the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. ⁶ Then the lame man will leap as a male-deer and the tongue of the mute will sing. For waters in the wilderness will break out and streams in the desert.

⁶ I, Jehovah, have called you in righteousness and will hold your hand and will keep you and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles, ⁷ to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon and those who sit in darkness out of the prison-house.

¹⁶ And I will bring the blind by a way that they do not know. I will lead them in paths that they do not know. I will make darkness light before them and crooked places straight. These things I will do and I will not forsake them.

⁸ Bring forth the blind people who have eyes and the deaf who have ears.

¹ The Spirit of the lord Jehovah is upon me, because Jehovah has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind and the opening of bonds to those who are bound, ² to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, ³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

⁸ Behold, I will bring them from the north country and gather them from the outermost parts of the earth and with them the blind man and the lame man, the woman with child and she who travails with child together. They will return here a great company.

¹² But I will leave in the midst of you an afflicted and poor people and they will take refuge in the name of Jehovah.

²⁸ Now he came into the house, the blind men came to him and Jesus says to them, You believe that I am able to do this?
They say to him, Yes, Lord.
²⁹ Then he touched their eyes, saying, Let it happen for you according to your faith. ³⁰ And their eyes were opened. And Jesus scolded them, saying, See that you^\'b0 let no one know it.

³⁰ And large crowds came to him there, having the lame, blind, mute, crippled and many others with them. They tossed them beside the feet of Jesus, and he healed them; ³¹ so-that the crowds marveled, seeing the mute speaking; the crippled healthy; the lame walking; and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

¹⁴ And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.

³² And they bring to him a speaking impaired deaf man and they plead with him in order that he might lay his hand on him. ³³ And having taken him away from the crowd privately, he put his fingers into his ears, and he spits, and touched his tongue; ³⁴ and looking up to heaven, he groaned and says to him, Ephphatha. (That is, Be opened.) ³⁵ And immediately his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosed, and he was speaking correctly. ³⁶ And he ordered them in order that they should tell no one, but as many things as he was ordering them not to tell, rather, they were preaching it even-more.
³⁷ And they were being abundantly astounded, saying, He has done all things well; he makes even the deaf to hear, and the mute to speak.

¹⁸ ‘ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, in that, he anointed me to proclaim the good-news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the crushed in heart, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth the downtrodden in deliverance,

¹² And it happened, while he was in one of the cities, behold, a man full of leprosy, and seeing Jesus and falling upon his face, he besought of him, saying, Lord, if you are willing, you are able to cleanse me.
¹³ And having stretched out his hand, he touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed. And immediately the leprosy went away from him. ¹⁴ And he commanded him to tell no one, saying, But when you go away, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift concerning your cleansing, just-as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
¹⁵ But the word concerning him was going through the land even more, and large crowds were coming together to hear and to be healed by him from their sicknesses.

¹⁴ And he came near and touched the funeral bier, and those bearing it stopped. Now he said, Young-man, I say to you, Arise.
¹⁵ And he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.

²¹ He healed many of diseases and disorders and evil spirits in the same hour, and he granted to many of the blind to see.

⁵³ And they were laughing at him, knowing that she was dead.

¹² And while entering into a certain village, ten men who were lepers encountered him there, who stood farther out; ¹³ and they lifted up their voices, saying, Jesus, Master, show-mercy to us.
¹⁴ And when he saw them, he said to them, When you travel back, show yourselves to the priests.
And it happened, while they were going, they were cleansed. ¹⁵ Now one out of them, having seen that he was healed, turned back with a loud voice, glorifying God; ¹⁶ and he fell upon his face beside his feet, giving-thanks to him, and he was a Samaritan.
¹⁷ But Jesus answered and said, Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? ¹⁸ Was there no one found, except this immigrant, who returned to give glory to God? ¹⁹ And he said to him, Stand and travel. Your faith has saved you.

³⁵ Now it happened, while he drew near to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting by the road begging. ³⁶ Now hearing a crowd traveling through, he inquired what this might be. ³⁷ Now they reported to him, that Jesus the Nazarene is passing by. ³⁸ And he cried out, saying, Jesus, son of David, show-mercy to me. ³⁹ And those who precede were rebuking him, in order that he should be silent, but he was crying out much more, Son of David, show-mercy to me!
⁴⁰ Now when Jesus stood still, he commanded him to be led to him, and when he drew near, he asked him, ⁴¹ saying, What do you wish that I might do for you?
But he said, Lord, that I may recover my sight.
⁴² And Jesus said to him, Recover your sight. Your faith has saved you. ⁴³ And instantly he recovered his sight and was following him, glorifying God. And all the people, having seen it, gave praise to God.

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him, Is any good thing able to be coming out of Nazareth?
Philip says to him, Come and behold!

³⁰ The man answered and said to them, For a marvelous thing is in this, because you do not know where he is from and yet he opened my eyes. ³¹ But we know that God does not hear sinners, but if anyone is God-fearing and if he is practicing his will, he hears him. ³² It has not been heard from the beginning of the world, that anyone has opened the eyes of one who had been born blind. ³³ If this one was not from God, he would be unable to do anything.

² And a certain man, being lame from his mother’s womb, was being bore there, whom they were laying daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask charity from those who travel into the temple. ³ Seeing Peter and John being about to go into the temple, he asked them for charity. ⁴ But Peter, together with John, staring toward him, said, Look toward us. ⁵ Now he was taking-heed of them, expecting to receive something from them. ⁶ But Peter said, I do not possess silver and gold, but what I have, that I am giving to you. In the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, arise and walk. ⁷ And he clutched him by the right hand and lifted him up and instantly his feet and his ankles were strengthened. ⁸ And leaping up, he stood and was walking, and he entered together with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.

⁷ For many of those who had unclean spirits, the spirits were coming out, crying with a loud voice. And many were healed who had been paralyzed and lame.

⁸ And there was a certain man, who was sitting in Lystra, being powerless in his feet, lame from his mother’s womb, who had never walked. ⁹ This one heard Paul speaking, who, having stared at him and seeing that he had faith to be cured, ¹⁰ said with a loud voice, Stand correctly upon your feet. And he was leaping up and walking.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of the Adversary to God, in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance among those who have been made holy in faith, the faith in me.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brethren. Did God not choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to those who love him?

¹⁴ And he will be for a sanctuary, but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, for a net and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And many will stumble on it and fall and be broken and be snared and be taken.

⁶ And whoever is not offended at me is fortunate.

⁵⁷ And they were being offended at him.
But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, except in his fatherland and in his own house. ⁵⁸ And he did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.

³⁴ and Simeon gave-thanks for them, and said to Mary his mother, Behold, this child is destined for the fall and the resurrection of many in Israel, and for a sign being spoken against.

⁶⁰ Therefore many out of his disciples, having heard this, said, This is a harsh speech; who is able to hear it? ⁶¹ But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured concerning this, said to them, Is this offending you? ⁶² Therefore what if you view the Son of Man ascending where he was beforehand? ⁶³ It is the spirit who is giving-life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and are life. ⁶⁴ But there are some out of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they are who do not believe and who is one who will be giving him up. ⁶⁵ And he said, Because of this, I have said to you, that no one is able to come to me, if it has not been given to him from my Father.
⁶⁶ Many of his disciples went away from this speech to things left behind and were walking no more with him.

³² Why? Because it was not from the faith, but as it was from works of the law, for they stumbled on the stone of stumbling; ³³ just-as it has been written, ‘Behold, I place a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense in Zion and everyone who believes on him will not be ashamed.’

²¹ For since, in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know God, it delighted God through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe. ²² Since both Jews ask for a sign and Greeks seek wisdom; ²³ but we preach Christ as having been crucified, indeed an offense to the Jews, but foolishness to the Greeks; ²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. ²⁵ Because the foolish things of God are wiser than men, and the weakness of God is mightier than men.
²⁶ For you see your calling brethren, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble. ²⁷ But God chose the foolish things of the world, in order that he might shame the wise, and God chose the weak things of the world, in order that he might shame the strong; ²⁸ and God chose the ignoble things of the world and the things which have been scorned and the things which are not, in order that he might do-away-with the things which are;

¹⁴ Now the physical man is not accepting the things from the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to know them, because they are spiritually examined.

⁷ Therefore, to those who believe is the honor, but to the disobedient, ‘ The stone which the builders rejected, this became to them the head of the corner'; ⁸ and, ‘A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense'; those who are stumbling in the word, being disobedient, toward which they were also appointed.

⁴ Boiling over as water, you will not have the pre-eminence, because you went up to your father's bed, then you defiled it; he went up to my couch.

¹ Now in those days John the Immerser comes, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, ² and saying, Repent; for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near. ³ For this one is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, ‘A voice is crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make^*\'b0 his paths straight.’ ⁴ Now John himself had his outer clothing made of camel’s hair and a leather belt around his loin, and his nourishment was locusts and wild honey. ⁵ Then Jerusalem and everyone in Judea and everyone from the region around the Jordan were traveling out to him.

⁷ Now while these disciples are traveling on, Jesus began to say to the crowds concerning John, What did you come out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? ⁸ But what did you go out to see? A man who has been dressed-up in soft garments? Behold, those who are wearing soft garments are in royal houses.

⁴ John came, immersing in the wilderness and preaching the immersion of repentance into the forgiveness of sins. ⁵ And all the region of Judea and all those from Jerusalem were traveling out to him, and all were being immersed by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

⁸⁰ Now the child was growing and becoming-powerful in spirit and was in the wildernesses until the day of his public showing to Israel.

² in the time of Annas and Caiaphas, the high-priests, the declaration of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

²³ He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Make straight the way of the Lord, just-as Isaiah the prophet said.

¹⁷ Therefore while planning this certain thing, I did not consequently use fickleness, did I? Or what I plan, do I plan those things according to the flesh, in order that there should be from me the yes, yes and the no, no? ¹⁸ But as God is faithful, our word toward you did not become yes and no. ¹⁹ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you through us, that is, through me and Silvanus and Timothy, did not become yes and no, but in him it has become yes. ²⁰ For as many things as are the promises of God, in him is the yes and in him is the amen, for glory to God through us.

¹⁴ in order that we may no longer be infants, bobbing on the waves and being carried around in every wind of teaching, in the trickery of men, in craftiness, toward the schemes of error.

⁶ But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing in himself. For he who is doubting himself resembles a wave of the sea being blown by the wind and tossed around. ⁷ For do not let that man assume that he will be receiving anything from the Lord– ⁸ an indecisive man is restless in all his ways.

¹⁷ These people are waterless springs and clouds driven by a gale of wind to whom the blackness of darkness has been kept forever.

¹⁷ Therefore beloved, knowing beforehand these things, guard yourselves, in order that you might not fall from your own firmness, having been led away in the error of the immoral.

³⁵ I am this day eighty years old. Can I discern between good and bad? Can your servant taste what I eat or what I drink? Can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? Why then should your servant be yet a burden to my lord the king?

⁵ and the food of his table and the seating of his servants and the attendance of his ministers and their apparel and his cupbearers and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Jehovah, there was no more spirit in her.

⁸ And they answered him, He was a hairy man and girt with a belt of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

³ in the third year of his reign, he made a feast to all his rulers and his servants, the power of Persia and Media, the ranking men and rulers of the provinces, being before him

¹¹ to bring Vashti the queen before the king with the royal crown to show the peoples and the rulers her beauty, for she was fair to look on.

² And he came even before the king's gate, for none might enter inside the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.

¹ Now it happened on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel and stood in the inner court of the king's house, opposite the king's house. And the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, opposite the entrance of the house.

¹⁵ And Mordecai went forth from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white and with a great crown of gold and with a robe of fine linen and purple. And the city of Shushan shouted and was glad.

¹⁷ And he put on righteousness as a breastplate and a helmet of salvation upon his head. And he put on garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal as a mantle.

⁴ Now John himself had his outer clothing made of camel’s hair and a leather belt around his loin, and his nourishment was locusts and wild honey.

²⁹ Yet I say to you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.

³ whose adornment, do not let it be the outward adornment of braiding the hair, and of placing on of gold things or of clothing of expensive garments; ⁴ but let it be the hidden human things of the heart, in the incorruptible clothing of a meek and quiet spirit, which is greatly-valued in God’s sight.

⁹ But why did you go out? To see a prophet? I say to you, Yes, and one who is more-than a prophet. ¹⁰ For this is he, concerning whom it has been written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will be preparing your way before you.’ ¹¹ Assuredly I am saying to you, A greater man has not arisen among those born from women than John the Immerser. But he who is least in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he. ¹² But from the days of John the Immerser until now the kingdom of the heavens suffers-violently and the violent ones seize it. ¹³ For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. ¹⁴ And if you are willing to accept it, he himself is Elijah, who is the one about to come.

⁷⁶ And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; for ‘you will be traveling before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways.’

¹⁶ The law and the prophets were until John; from that time the good-news of the kingdom of God is proclaimed, and everyone violently-enters into it.

⁶ But if we say, From men; all the people will be stoning us; for they have confidence that John was a prophet.

²⁶ And they came to John and said to him, Rabbi, he who was with you beyond-that area of the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, this one immerses and all men are going to him.
²⁷ John answered and said, A man is able to receive nothing, if it is not given to him from heaven. ²⁸ You yourselves testify, that I said, I am not the Christ, but, that I have been sent before that one. ²⁹ He who has the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend of the bridegroom, who is standing and hearing him, rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore in this, my joy has been fulfilled. ³⁰ It is essential for that to grow, but for me to be diminished.

³⁵ He was that lamp which burns and appears bright, and you were willing to be glad for a season in his light.

³ The voice of a man crying out in the wilderness, Prepare the way of Jehovah, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

¹ Behold, I send my messenger and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord, whom you* seek, will suddenly come to his temple. And the messenger of the covenant, whom you* desire, behold, he comes, says Jehovah of hosts.

⁵ Behold, I will send you* Elijah the prophet before the great and fearful day of Jehovah comes. ⁶ And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the sons and the heart of the sons to their fathers, lest I come and kill* the earth with a curse.

¹⁰ For this is he, concerning whom it has been written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will be preparing your way before you.’

² As it has been written in the prophets, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will be preparing your way.’

¹⁵ For he will be great in the Lord’s sight, and he may never drink wine or liquor, and he will be filled more with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb. ¹⁶ And he will be turning many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God. ¹⁷ And he will be going beforehand, in his sight, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to return the hearts of the fathers back on their children, and the disobedient to return in the prudence of the righteous; to make-ready a prepared people for the Lord.

¹¹ Assuredly I am saying to you, A greater man has not arisen among those born from women than John the Immerser. But he who is least in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he.

¹⁶ But your eyes are fortunate, because they are seeing, and your ears, because they are hearing. ¹⁷ For assuredly I am saying to you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things you are seeing and did not see them, and to hear the things you are hearing and did not hear them.

¹⁴ And there will be joy and gladness to you, and many will be rejoicing at his birth. ¹⁵ For he will be great in the Lord’s sight, and he may never drink wine or liquor, and he will be filled more with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.

¹⁶ John answered, saying to them all, I indeed immerse you in water, but the mightier one than I is coming, the strap of whose shoes I am not sufficient to loose. He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit, and in fire;

⁴⁸ and said to them, Whoever accepts this little child in my name accepts me, and whoever accepts me, accepts the one who sent me; for he who is least among you all, this one will be great.

²³ And having turned to the disciples, he said privately, The eyes which see what you see are fortunate. ²⁴ For I say to you, that many prophets and kings wished to see the things which you are seeing and did not see them, and to hear the things which you are hearing and did not hear them.

⁸ This grace was given to me the least of all the holy-ones, to proclaim the good-news of the untraceable riches of Christ among the Gentiles; ⁹ and to enlighten all with what the stewardship of the mystery is, of which has been hidden from the ages, in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;

²⁵ of which I became a servant, according to the stewardship of God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, ²⁶ the mystery that has been hidden away from the ages and away from the generations, but now it has been manifested to his holy-ones. ²⁷ To whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, who is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

³⁹ And all these, having been testified of through the faith,
did not get the promise, ⁴⁰ God having foreseen something better concerning us, in order that they should not be completed separate from us.

¹⁰ Concerning which salvation the prophets, who prophesied concerning the favor that would come to you, sought out and utterly searched out; ¹¹ searching what time or what sort of time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating, when testifying beforehand of the sufferings for Christ and the glories following after these things. ¹² To whom it was revealed, that they were serving these things not to themselves, but to you; which things now have been reported to you through those who proclaimed the good-news to you in the Holy Spirit, when he was sent forth from heaven; into which things messengers desire to peer into.

⁷ And Adoni-bezek said, Seventy kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered scraps under my table. As I have done, so God has requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem and he died there.

⁴ Against you, you only, I have sinned and done what is evil in your sight, that you may be justified when you speak and may prevail when you are criticized.

⁵ Then Jerusalem and everyone in Judea and everyone from the region around the Jordan were traveling out to him. ⁶ And they were being immersed by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.

³¹ Which one out of the two did the will of his father?
They say, The first.
Jesus says to them, Assuredly I am saying to you, that the tax collectors and the prostitutes will precede you into the kingdom of God. ³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe in him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed in him, and the n having seen it, you did not even regret it later, that you might believe in him.

¹² Now tax collectors also came to be immersed, and they said to him, Teacher, what shall we do?

³⁵ And wisdom was made righteous from all her children.

²⁵ This one was instructing people in the way of the Lord, and being zealous in his spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things concerning the Lord, but only knowing the immersion of John.

³ And he said to them, Therefore into what were you immersed?
But they said, Into the immersion of John.

⁴ Let it not happen! Now, let God become true, but everyone a liar; just-as it has been written, ‘ That you should be made righteous in your words and may overcome when you are judged.’ ⁵ For if our unrighteousness is establishing the righteousness of God, what will we say? The God who brings upon us wrath is not unrighteous, is he? (I speak according to the manner of man.) ⁶ Let it not happen! Otherwise how will God judge the world?

³ For being ignorant of God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

³ And they are singing the song of Moses the bondservant of God and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; your ways are righteous and true, the King of the nations.

⁵ And I heard the messenger of the waters saying, You are righteous, who is and who was, the Holy One, because you judged these things;

⁸ How can you* say, We are wise and the law of Jehovah is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has worked falsely.

³⁵ And one out of them, a professor of the law, asked a question, testing him and saying,

³⁴ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How-often I wished to have gathered together your children in the manner a bird gathers together her own brood under her wings, and you did not wish for it!

²⁷ For I did not retreat back from proclaiming to you the whole plan of God.

²¹ But he says to Israel, ‘The whole day, I outstretched my hands to a disobedient and contradicting people.’

¹ And working together with him, we are also encouraging you to not accept the grace of God in vain;

²¹ I am not nullifying the grace of God; for if righteousness is through the law, consequently, Christ died undeservedly.

¹¹ In him in whom, we were also made an inheritance, having been predetermined according to the purpose of the one who is working all things after the plan of his will.

¹³ What shall I testify to you? What shall I liken to you, O daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I compare to you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For your breach is great like the sea; who can heal you?

³⁰ And he said, To what may be similar to the kingdom of God? Or in what parable may we put it in comparison?

¹⁶ Why is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom, since he has no understanding?

⁹ Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those who are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breasts?
¹⁰ For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little. ¹¹ No, but by men of strange lips and with another tongue he will speak to this people, ¹² to whom he said, This is the rest. Give rest to him who is weary. And this is the refreshing. Yet they would not hear.
¹³ Therefore the word of Jehovah will be to them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little, that they may go and fall backward and be broken and snared and taken.

¹¹ And all vision has become to you* as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to a man who is learned, saying, Read this, I beseech you. And he says, I cannot, for it is sealed. ¹² And the book is delivered to him who is not learned, saying, Read this, I beseech you. And he says, I am not learned.

³ O Jehovah, do not your eyes look upon truth? You have stricken them, but they were not grieved. You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than a rock. They have refused to return.
⁴ Then I said, Surely these are poor, they are foolish, for they do not know the way of Jehovah, nor the law of their God. ⁵ I will go to the great men and will speak to them, for they know the way of Jehovah and the law of their God. But these with one accord have broken the yoke and burst the bonds.

⁵ And the streets of the city will be full of boys and girls playing in the streets of it.

⁸ And you will not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink. ⁹ For Jehovah of hosts says thus, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your* eyes and in your* days, the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.
¹⁰ And it will happen, when you will show this people all these words and they will say to you, Why has Jehovah pronounced all this great evil against us? Or what is our iniquity? Or what is our sin that we have committed against Jehovah our God?

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he should become like his teacher and the bondservant like his lord. If they have called the householder Beelzebub, how much more the kinfolk!

⁶ Now John was eating locusts and wild honey, having clothed himself with camel’s hair, and a leather belt around his loin.

¹⁵ For he will be great in the Lord’s sight, and he may never drink wine or liquor, and he will be filled more with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.

⁴⁸ Therefore the Jews answered and said to him, Do we not say well that you are a Samaritan and you have a demon?

⁵² The Jews said to him, Now we have known that you have a demon. Abraham died and the prophets, and you say, If anyone keeps my word, he may never taste of death forever.

²⁰ And many out of them were saying, He has a demon and is insane; why are you listening to him?

¹³ But others sneering, were saying, They are full of new-wine.

¹¹ And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, Why is your teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?

²⁹ And Levi made for himself a large banquet in his house and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others who were reclining at the meal with them.

³⁶ Now someone from the Pharisees asked him, in order that he might eat with him. And having entered into the Pharisee’s house, he reclined at a meal. \ulnone\nosupersub

³⁷ Now while he was speaking, a certain Pharisee asked him, that he might have supper with him, and having entered, he leaned-back at the table. \ulnone\nosupersub

¹ And it happened, while he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a Sabbath to eat bread, that they themselves were observing him.

² And the Pharisees and the scribes were murmuring, saying, This man accepts sinners and eats together with them.

⁷ And when they saw it, they were all murmuring, saying, He has entered to board with a man, a sinner.

² and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding.

² So they made him a supper there and Martha was serving, but Lazarus was one of those who reclined at the meal together with him.

³² Now therefore, you* sons, listen to me. For those who keep my ways are fortunate. ³³ Hear instruction and be wise and do not refuse it.
³⁴ The man who hears me is fortunate, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. ³⁵ Because he who finds me finds life and will obtain favor of Jehovah.
³⁶ But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul.
All those who hate me love death.

⁹ Who is wise, that he may understand these things, prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of Jehovah are right and the just will walk in them. But transgressors will fall in them.

¹⁹ The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they say, Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners! And wisdom was made righteous from her children.

²⁹ And all the people and the tax collectors, having heard this, having been immersed in the immersion of John, made righteous by God.

¹⁴ Now the physical man is not accepting the things from the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to know them, because they are spiritually examined. ¹⁵ But the spiritual one is indeed examining all things, but he himself is examined by no one.

⁵ But they were saying, Not at the feast, in order that an uproar among the people might not happen.


⁶ Now when Jesus happened to be in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

³ And now being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, reclining at a meal, a woman came having an alabaster flask of costly undiluted perfume of nard, and she crushed the alabaster flask and poured it on his head. ⁴ But there were some being indignant to themselves, and saying, For what purpose has the waste of the perfume happened? ⁵ For this perfume was able to have been sold for above three hundred denarii and given to the poor. And they were scolding her.
⁶ But Jesus said, Allow her. Why are you harassing her? She has worked a good work in me. ⁷ For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you wish, you are able to do them good, but you do not always have me. ⁸ What she had, this she did. She took upon herself beforehand to perfume my body for its burial. ⁹ And assuredly I am saying to you, Wherever this good-news is preached into the whole world, what also she has done, this will be spoken for her memorial.

³⁴ The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!

² Now it was this Mary who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. ³ Therefore the sisters sent to him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom you love is sick.
⁴ But when Jesus heard it, he said, This sickness is not to death, but on behalf of the glory of God, in order that the Son of God may be glorified through it. ⁵ Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. ⁶ Therefore, as he heard that he was sick, then indeed, he remained in the place in which he was for two days. ⁷ Thereafter, after this time, he says to the disciples, We should go into Judea again.
⁸ The disciples say to him, Rabbi, the Jews just now were seeking to stone you, and you are going back there again?
⁹ Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he is not stumbling, because he sees the light of this world. ¹⁰ But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him. ¹¹ He spoke these things and he says to them after this, Our friend Lazarus has fallen-asleep, but I am traveling in order that I may wake him.
¹² Therefore the disciples said to him, Lord, if he has fallen-asleep, he will be cured.
¹³ (Now Jesus had spoken concerning his death, but those men thought that he is speaking concerning the restfulness of sleep.) ¹⁴ Therefore, then Jesus spoke to them frankly, Lazarus is dead. ¹⁵ And I rejoice because of you that I myself was not there, in order that you may believe; but we should go to him.
¹⁶ Therefore Thomas, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples, We should also go, in order that we may die with him.

³¹ Which one out of the two did the will of his father?
They say, The first.
Jesus says to them, Assuredly I am saying to you, that the tax collectors and the prostitutes will precede you into the kingdom of God.

³² I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.

³⁷ And behold, a woman who was in the city, who was a sinner, when she recognized that he is reclining at a meal in the Pharisee’s house, she fetched an alabaster flask of perfume, ³⁸ and standing beside his feet behind him, weeping, she began to rain on his feet with her tears and was wiping them with the hairs of her head and was kissing his feet, and was anointing them with the perfume. ³⁹ Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he spoke in himself, saying, This one, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.

¹³ And the tax collector, standing from afar, was not even willing to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his chest, saying, God, be lenient to me, the sinner.

²⁴ So they summoned the man who was blind a second-time and said to him, Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.

³¹ But we know that God does not hear sinners, but if anyone is God-fearing and if he is practicing his will, he hears him.

¹ Therefore, Jesus came to Bethany six days before the Passover, where Lazarus was, who had died, whom he raised from the dead.


² So they made him a supper there and Martha was serving, but Lazarus was one of those who reclined at the meal together with him. ³ Therefore, Mary took a pound of perfume of precious undiluted nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair and the house was filled from the aroma of the perfume. ⁴ Therefore Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, one out of his disciples, who is about to give him up, says, ⁵ Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor? ⁶ Now this he said, not because he was caring concerning the poor, but because he was a thief and had the box and was bearing what was put in it.
⁷ Therefore Jesus said, Allow her, she has kept it for the day of my burial. ⁸ For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.

⁸ But God is establishing his own love toward us, in that when we were still sinners, Christ died on our behalf.

⁹ knowing this: that law is not laid down for the righteous, but for the lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for killers of their fathers and killers of their mothers, for murderers,

¹⁵ Faithful is the word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.

¹⁸ And if the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?

⁴ Now let a little water be fetched and wash your* feet and rest yourselves under the tree.

⁴ And it happened, when the messenger of Jehovah spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice and wept. ⁵ And they called the name of that place Bochim and they sacrificed there to Jehovah.

¹ Now while Ezra prayed and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there was gathered together to him out of Israel a very great assembly of men and women and children, for the people wept very much.

⁶ I am weary with my groaning. Every night I make my bed to swim. I water my couch with my tears. ⁷ My eye wastes away because of grief. It grows old because of all my adversaries.
⁸ Depart from me, all you* workers of wickedness, because Jehovah has heard the voice of my weeping.

¹⁸ Because I will declare my iniquity. I will be sorry for my sin.

¹⁷ The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and crushed heart, O God, you will not despise.

⁵ Those who sow in tears will reap in joy. ⁶ He who goes forth and weeps, bearing seed for sowing, will doubtless come again with joy, bringing his sheaves.

⁸ Let your garments be always white and do not let your head lack oil.

³ Your oils have a good fragrance. Your name is oil poured forth. Therefore the virgins love you.

⁹ And you went to the king with oil and increased your perfumes and sent your ambassadors far off and debased yourself even to Sheol.

³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

⁹ They will come with weeping. And I will lead them with supplications. I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they will not stumble. For I am a father to Israel and Ephraim is my firstborn.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim sympathize within himself saying, You have disciplined me and I was disciplined as a calf unaccustomed to the yoke. Turn me back and I will be turned back, for you are Jehovah my God.
¹⁹ Surely after that I was turned back. I repented and after I was instructed, I killed* upon my thigh. I was ashamed, yes, even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth.
²⁰ Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him. I will surely have mercy upon him, says Jehovah.

¹² Yet even now, says Jehovah, turn to me with all your* heart and with fasting and with weeping and with mourning.

⁴ Those who are mourning are fortunate, because they will be comforted.

²¹ You who hunger now are fortunate, because you will be fed. You who are weeping now are fortunate, because you will be laughing.

⁴⁴ And turning to the woman, he said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, you gave me no water for my feet, but she has rained on my feet with her tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head. ⁴⁵ You gave me no kiss, but, from the time I came in she has continually kissed my feet. ⁴⁶ You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with perfume.

⁶² And he went outside and wept bitterly.

⁴ arose from supper and places aside his garments, and he took a towel and girded himself. ⁵ Thereafter he puts water into the washbasin and began to wash the disciples’feet and to wipe them with the towel in which he was girded.

¹⁰ For the sorrow which is according to the will of God is working unregrettable repentance for salvation, but the sorrow of the world is working death. ¹¹ For behold how much diligence this same thing, (your being sorrowful according to the will of God), has worked in you : but what a defense, but what indignation, but what fear, but what longing, but what zeal, but what vengeance! In everything you commended yourselves to be pure in the matter.

⁹ Be miserable and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy be turned to gloom.

²⁰ But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands what he brought. As Jehovah lives, I will run after him and take something from him.

⁷ Because as he thinks within himself, so is he. Eat and drink, he says to you, but his heart is not with you.

⁵ who say, Stand by yourself, do not come near to me, for I am holier than you.
These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all the day.

¹² But Jesus having heard it, said to them, Those who are strong have no need of a physician, but those who are ill. ¹³ Now when you travel on, learn what is meant by, ‘I will to have mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

¹⁶ So the last will be first, and the first last; for many are invited but few are chosen.

²⁸ But what do you think? A man had two children, and he came to the first and said, Child, go work today in my vineyard.
²⁹ But he answered and said, I am not willing, but later he regretted it and went.
³⁰ And he came to the second and said likewise. But he answered and said, I will go lord, and did not go. ³¹ Which one out of the two did the will of his father?
They say, The first.

⁶ But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, ⁷ Why is this man speaking blasphemies so? Who is able to forgive sins except one, our God?

²¹ For evil reasonings travel from inside, out of the heart of men, such as : adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts,

⁸ Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance and do not begin to say among yourselves, We have Abraham as our father; for I say to you, that God is able to lift up children to Abraham from these stones.

¹⁶ Now fear took all and they were glorifying God, saying, A great prophet has arisen among us, and that God has visited his people.

³⁷ And behold, a woman who was in the city, who was a sinner, when she recognized that he is reclining at a meal in the Pharisee’s house, she fetched an alabaster flask of perfume,

¹⁷ and he was reasoning in himself, saying, What should I do, because I have nowhere, in which, I will gather together my fruits?

²⁸ But he was angry and was not willing to enter and therefore his father came out and was pleading him.
²⁹ But he answered and said to his father, Behold, I did serve you for so-many years, and I never passed over a commandment of yours, and yet you never gave me a young goat, in order that I might be joyous with my friends. ³⁰ But when this one, your son came, who has devoured your livelihood with prostitutes, you sacrificed the fattened calf for him.

³ But the steward said in himself, What should I do, because my lord is taking away the stewardship from me? I am not strong-enough to dig; I am ashamed to beg.

⁴ And he did not wish to at that time, but after these things, he said in himself, Even if I do not fear God, and do not revere man;

⁹ Now he spoke this parable to some who have confidence in themselves, that they were righteous, and scorning the rest: ¹⁰ Two men went up into the temple to pray; the first one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood and was praying these things with himself, God, I give-thanks to you, that I am not like the rest of men: swindlers, unrighteous, adulterers or just-like this tax collector.

¹² And there was much murmuring among the crowds concerning him. Some were saying, He is a good man; others said, Not so, but he misleads the crowd.

⁴⁷ Therefore the Pharisees answered them, You have not also been misled, have you? ⁴⁸ Not anyone from the rulers or from the Pharisees believed in him, have they? ⁴⁹ But this crowd who does not know the law are cursed.
⁵⁰ Nicodemus says to them (he who came to him by night, being one out of them), ⁵¹ Our law is not judging a man, if it does not hear from him beforehand and may know what he is doing, does it?
⁵² They answered and said to him, You are not also from Galilee, are you? Search and behold that no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.

³¹ And they come to you as the people come and they sit before you as my people. And they hear your words, but do not do them. For with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.

⁶ A son honors his father and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says Jehovah of hosts to you*, O priests, who despise my name. And you* say, How have we despised your name?

²² Many will be saying to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not: prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and practice many miracles in your name?

⁴⁹ And immediately he came to Jesus and said, Hail, Rabbi. And he kissed him.

²² But Jesus fully knowing their reasonings, answered and said to them, What are you reasoning in your hearts?

³¹ And Jesus answered and said to them, Those who are healthy have no need of a physician, but those who have ill ness.

⁸ But he knew their reasonings, and he said to the man having a dried up hand, Arise and stand; you in the middle. Now having risen up, he stood there.

¹⁸ And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, by having practiced what, will I inherit everlasting life?

²⁰ And having observed him, they sent forth agents, who themselves pretended to be righteous, in order that they might grab him from his speech, that they might give him to the rule and the authority of the governor. ²¹ And they asked him, saying, Teacher, we know that you say and teach correctly, and do not accept the countenance of men, but in truth, are teaching the way of God.

² This one came to him by night and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God; for no one is able to do these signs which you are doing, if God is not with him.

¹³ You address me as the Teacher and, Lord, and you say well; for so I am.

¹⁹ Therefore, Jesus knew that they were wishing to ask him, and he said to them, Are you debating with one another concerning this thing which I said, A little while and you do not view me, and again, A little while and you will see me?

³⁰ Now we know that you know all things and do not have need that anyone should ask you. We believe that you came forth from God with this speech.

³ Our father died in the wilderness and he was not among the company of those who gathered themselves together against Jehovah in the company of Korah, but he died in his own sin and he had no sons.

¹ Jehovah says thus, Where is the document of your* mother's divorcement, with which I have put her away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you*? Behold, for your* iniquities you* were sold and for your* transgressions your* mother was put away.

¹¹ And Jehovah said to me, Backsliding Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.

¹² And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.

²³ Because of this, the kingdom of the heavens has been similar to a certain king who wished to settle the account with his bondservants. ²⁴ Now having begun to settle the account, one man was brought to him, a debtor of ten-thousand silver talants . ²⁵ But he did not have anything to repay him with, so his lord commanded him and his wife and children and all things, as many things as he was holding, to be sold and the money to be repaid to him.

²⁸ But that bondservant went out and found one of his fellow bondservants who owed him a hundred denarii, and he took-hold of him, and was choking him, saying, Repay if you are owing me anything.

⁴⁷ Because of which, I say to you, Her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, because she loved much, but to whom few is forgiven, the same loves few.

⁴ And forgive us our sins; for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is obligated to us. And do not bring us into temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.

⁴⁸ but he who did not know and did things worthy of lashes, will be whipped with few lashes. But to whomever much is given, much will be required from him, and to whom they consign much, they will be asking even-more from him.

⁴ Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed, do you think that those became debtors more than all other men who are dwelling in Jerusalem?

²² If I had not come and spoken to them, they were having no sin, but now they have no excuse concerning their sin. ²³ He who hates me also hates my Father. ²⁴ If I had not done the works which no other has done among them, then they were having no sin, but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father.

²³ for all have sinned and come-short of the glory of God.

²⁰ But the law entered in beside us, in order that the trespass might increase, but where sin increased, the favor over-abounded;

¹⁵ Faithful is the word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost. ¹⁶ But I was shown-mercy because of this, in order that Jesus Christ might show all his patience in me as foremost, for a pattern of those who are afterward about to believe on him for everlasting life.

⁸ If we should say that we have no sin, we are misleading ourselves and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰ If we should say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar and his word is not in us.

¹ Those whose transgression is forgiven are fortunate, whose sin is covered. ² The man to whom Jehovah does not reckon sin and in whose spirit there is no deceit is fortunate.
³ Because I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all the day long. ⁴ Because day and night your hand was heavy upon me. My moisture was changed as with the drought of summer. Selah.
⁵ I acknowledged my sin to you and I did not hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Jehovah and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

⁷ none can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him ⁸ (for the redemption of their life is costly and it fails everlasting),

¹ Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your loving kindness. According to the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions. ² Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. ³ Because I know my transgressions and my sin is always before me.

³ who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases,

²⁵ I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake and I will not remember your sins.

²² I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and as a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.

³³ But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Jehovah: I will give my laws into their mind and I will write them on their hearts. And I will be their God and they will be my people.
³⁴ And they will teach no more every man his neighbor and every man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah, for they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says Jehovah. For I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more.

¹⁸ O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and behold our desolations and the city which is called by your name. For we do not present our supplications before you for our righteousness, but for your great mercies' sake.
¹⁹ O Lord, hear. O Lord, forgive. O Lord, listen and do. Defer not, for your own sake, O my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.

¹⁸ Who is a God like to you, who pardons iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in loving kindness.
¹⁹ He will again have compassion upon us. He will tread our iniquities under foot and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. ²⁰ You will perform the truth to Jacob and the loving kindness to Abraham, which you have sworn to our fathers from the days of long-ago.

²⁵ But he did not have anything to repay him with, so his lord commanded him and his wife and children and all things, as many things as he was holding, to be sold and the money to be repaid to him.
²⁶ Therefore the bondservant falling down, was worshiping him, saying, Lord, have patience upon me, and I will be repaying all of it to you.

³⁴ And his lord, was angry and gave him to the torturers until he should repay everything which is owed to him.

³⁸ Therefore brethren, let it be known to you that forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you through this one; ³⁹ and everyone who believes is made righteous in this one; you were not able to be made righteous from all the things of which were in the Law of Moses.

²⁴ All those who believe, being made righteous freely by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus,

⁵ But to the one who is not working, but believes on the one who makes righteous the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. ⁶ Just-as David also says concerning the good-fortune of the man to whom God counts righteousness separate from works, ⁷ saying, ‘Those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven and whose sins are covered are fortunate. ⁸ The man to whom the Lord may never count sin, is fortunate.’

⁶ For when we were still weak, according to the proper time, Christ died on behalf of the ungodly.

¹⁰ For as many as are from the works of the law are under a curse; for it has been written, ‘Cursed is everyone who is not remaining in all things which have been written in the book of the law, and to practice them.’

⁷ in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses according to the riches of his grace.

³² and become kind to one another, affectionate, forgiving others in yourselves, just-as God also forgave us in Christ.

¹³ tolerating one another and forgiving others in yourselves. If anyone has a complaint toward anyone; just-as the Christ forgave you, so you also forgive others.

¹⁶ O Jehovah, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your handmaid. You have loosed my bonds.
¹⁷ I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and will call upon the name of Jehovah. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows to Jehovah, yes, in the presence of all his people,

³⁴ And when Jesus saw that he answered with perception, he said to him, You are not far from the kingdom of God. And no one was daring enough to ask him anymore.

³⁸ But it happened while they were also traveling, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman, Martha by name, accepted him into her house.

⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, who is not sufficient to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the congregation^* of believers of God. ¹⁰ But I am what I am by the grace of God and his grace toward me has not become empty, but I labored even-more than they all did; but not I, but the grace of God which was together with me.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ is holding us together with him, having judged this thing: if one died on behalf of all, consequently, all died; ¹⁵ and he died on behalf of all, in order that those who are living should no longer live to themselves, but to the one who died and rose again on their behalf.

¹³ even though I was a former blasphemer and a persecutor and an insolent man, but I was shown-mercy, because I did it being ignorant in unbelief; ¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord overwhelmed me with the faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

² and he said, Behold now, my lords, I beseech you*, turn aside into your* servant's house and abide all night and wash your* feet and you* will rise up early and go on your* way. And they said, No, but we will abide in the street all night.

³ I ate no desirable bread. Neither flesh nor wine came into my mouth. Neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

⁶ who drink wine in bowls and anoint themselves with the chief oils, but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

¹⁸ Come now and let us reason together, says Jehovah, though your* sins be as scarlet, they will be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they will be as wool.

⁷ Let the wicked man forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. And let him return to Jehovah and he will have mercy upon him and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

⁶³ that you may remember and be confounded and never open your mouth any more, because of your shame, when I have forgiven you all that you have done, says the lord Jehovah.

²⁹ And I will save you* from all your* uncleannesses. And I will call for the grain and will multiply it and lay no famine upon you*. ³⁰ And I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field, that you* may no more receive the reproach of famine among the nations.
³¹ Then you* will remember your* evil ways and your* practices that were not good. And you* will loathe yourselves in your* own sight for your* iniquities and for your* abominations. ³² I do this not for your* sake, says the lord Jehovah; be it known to you*. Be ashamed and confounded for your* ways, O house of Israel.

¹⁹ He will again have compassion upon us. He will tread our iniquities under foot and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

³⁷ He who loves his father or mother above me is not worthy of me, and he who loves his son or daughter above me is not worthy of me.

²⁰ And seeing their faith, he said to him, Man, your sins have been forgiven to you.
²¹ And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this one, who is speaking blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins, except God only?

⁴² But when they did not have anything to repay him with, he forgave them both. Therefore, tell me which of them will love him most?
⁴³ But Simon answered and said, I am taking it as, he to whom he forgave the most.
But he said to him, You have judged correctly.

¹⁵ Therefore when they had a meal, Jesus says to Simon Peter, Simon, Son of Jonah, do you ^{F} love me more-than these things?
He says to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.
He says to him, Feed my lambs.
¹⁶ He says to him again a second-time, Simon, Son of Jonah, do you ^{F} love me?
He says to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.
He says to him, Shepherd my sheep.
¹⁷ He says to him the third-time, Simon, Son of Jonah, Do you ^{F} love me?
Peter was sorrowful because he said to him the third-time, Do you ^{F} love me like a friend? And he said to him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you like a friend.
Jesus says to him, Feed my sheep.

³¹ This Jesus is the Author and Savior who God exalted to his right hand, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not be inheriting the kingdom of God? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor pedophiles, nor homosexuals, ¹⁰ nor the greedy ones, nor thieves, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will be inheriting the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And some of you were these, but you were fully-washed, but you were made holy, but you were made righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ is holding us together with him, having judged this thing: if one died on behalf of all, consequently, all died;

²⁴ Grace is with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruption. Amen.

⁹ And I am praying for this: in order that your love may abound still more and more in full knowledge and all comprehension;

¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord overwhelmed me with the faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son is cleansing us from every sin.

¹⁸ My little-children, do not love in word, nor with the tongue, but in work and in truth.

³ For this is the love of God, in order that we should keep his commandments and his commandments are not burdensome.

⁷ Why is this man speaking blasphemies so? Who is able to forgive sins except one, our God?

⁷ Go your way, eat your bread with joy and drink your wine with a merry heart, because God has already accepted your works.

⁴ Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright in him. (But the righteous man will live by his faith.)

²² Now Jesus having turned, saw her, and said, Daughter, have courage; your faith has saved you. And the woman was cured from that hour.

⁵² Now Jesus said to him, Go; your faith has saved you. And immediately he recovered his sight and was following Jesus on the road.

¹⁸ Therefore beware, how you hear; for whoever has, more will be given to him, and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken away from him.

⁴⁸ Now he said to her, Have courage daughter, your faith has saved you; travel in peace.

⁴² And Jesus said to him, Recover your sight. Your faith has saved you.

¹ Therefore having been made righteous from faith, we have peace toward God through our Lord Jesus Christ; ² through whom we also have had our access to this grace in the faith in which we are standing, and we are boasting in hope of the glory of God.

⁸ For you are saved by the grace through the faith, and this thing, the gift of God, is not from you; ⁹ not from works, in order that not anyone should boast. ¹⁰ For we are his product, created in Christ Jesus toward good works, in which God prepared beforehand in order that we should walk in them.

¹⁴ My brethren, what is the profit, if someone says he has faith, but does not have works? Is that faith able to save him? ¹⁵ But if a brother or sister is naked and may be deficient of daily nourishment, ¹⁶ and anyone out of you may say to them, Go away in peace. Be warmed and be fed, but do not give to them the body’s requirements; what is the profit? ¹⁷ So also your faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself.
¹⁸ But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith away from your works. I will also show you my faith from my works. ¹⁹ You believe that God is one; you are doing well. The demons also believe and they are shuddering. ²⁰ But O vain man, are you willing to know that faith is dead without works?
²¹ Was not Abraham our father made righteous from works, having offered up Isaac his son upon the altar? ²² Do you see that faith was working together with his works and his faith was completed from his works? ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, ‘And Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness,' and he was called the friend of God. ²⁴ Now-then, are you seeing that a man is made righteous from works and not from faith alone? ²⁵ Now likewise, was not Rahab the prostitute also made righteous from works, when she accepted the messengers and put them out a different way? ²⁶ For just-as the body without a spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead.
