Luke 18:1 Cross References - MLV

¹ Now he also spoke a parable to them, to show that it is essential for them to always pray, and not to be depressed;

⁹ And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O Jehovah, who said to me, Return to your country and to your kindred and I will do good things with you, ¹⁰ I am not worthy of the least of all the loving kindnesses and of all the truth, which you have shown to your servant, because with my staff I passed over this Jordan and now I have become two companies.
¹¹ I beseech you, deliver me from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau. For I fear him, lest he comes and slays me, the mother with the sons. ¹² And you said, I will surely do you good and make your seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone and a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day. ²⁵ And when he saw that he did not prevail against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was strained as he wrestled with him.
²⁶ And he said, Let me go, because the day breaks. And he said, I will not let you go unless you bless me.

⁸ For what is the hope of the profane, though he gets him gain, when God takes away his soul? ⁹ Will God hear his cry when trouble comes upon him? ¹⁰ Will he delight himself in the Almighty and call upon God at all times?

¹³ I believe that I will see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living.

¹⁶ As for me, I will call upon God and Jehovah will save me. ¹⁷ Evening and morning and at noonday, I will complain and moan. And he will hear my voice.

² O you who hear prayer, all flesh will come to you.

³ Be merciful to me, O Lord, because I cry all the day long to you.

¹⁷ He has regarded the prayer of the destitute and has not despised their prayer.

⁵ I cried to you, O Jehovah. I said, You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.
⁶ Attend to my cry, because I am brought very low. Deliver me from my persecutors, because they are stronger than I.
⁷ Bring my soul out of prison that I may give thanks to your name. The righteous will encompass me around, because you will deal bountifully with me.

¹² And you* will call upon me and you* will go and pray to me and I will listen to you*.

⁷ When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah. And my prayer came in to you, into your holy temple.

⁵ And he said to them, Which out of you will have a friend, and will be traveling to him at midnight and may say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves, ⁶ since a friend has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing as to what I will be placing beside him. ⁷ And he will answer from inside and should say, Do not be harassing me. The door has already been locked and my children are in the bunk with me. I am not able to give to you bread, even if I rise up. ⁸ I say to you, Even if he will not rise and will be giving to him because he is his friend, yet because of his irreverence, having arisen, he will be giving him as many as he needs.


⁹ And I say to you, Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will be finding; knock and it will be opened to you.

³⁶ Therefore, watch in every season, beseeching, in order that you might be deemed worthy to flee away from all the things which are about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.

¹² rejoicing in the hope; enduring in your affliction; persevering in your prayer;

¹ Because of this, having this service, just-as we have been shown-mercy, we are not depressed.

⁹ Now we should not be depressed in well doing; for we will be reaping in our own time, if we do not faint.

¹⁸ through all prayer and supplication praying in all seasons in the Spirit and watching in this same thing in all perseverance and supplication concerning all the holy-ones.

⁶ Be anxious in nothing, but in everything, let your requests be made known to God by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving.

² Persevere in your prayer, watching in it in thanksgiving;

¹² Epaphras, a bondservant of Christ, the one from you, greets you. He is always fighting on your behalf in his prayers, in order that you might stand complete and having been fulfilled in all the will of God.

¹⁷ Pray constantly.

³ For, study the one who has endured such dispute by sinners to himself, in order that you might not be weary, fainting in your souls. ⁴ You have not yet stood against this, as far as blood, in your struggle against sin. ⁵ And you have forgotten the encouragement which reasons with you as with sons, ‘My son, do not regard-lightly the disciplining of the Lord, nor be fainting when you are reproved by him.
