⁹ Drink no wine nor strong drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you* go into the tent of meeting, that you* not die–it will be an everlasting statute throughout your* generations–

¹⁷ It will be a everlasting statute throughout your* genealogy in all your* dwellings, that you* will eat neither fat nor blood.

³ he will separate himself from wine and strong drink. He will drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither will he drink any juice of grapes, nor eat fresh grapes or dried.

²⁰ and the priest will wave them for a wave offering before Jehovah. This is holy for the priest, together with the wave-breast and heave-thigh. And after that the Nazirite may drink wine.

¹ Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler and whoever straying by it is not wise.

⁷ For it is essential for the overseer to be irreproachable as God’s steward; not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not a drunkard, not a bully, not covetous;
