¹⁰ The hands of the pitiful women have boiled their own children. They were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people.

²⁹ And you* will eat the flesh of your* sons and the flesh of your* daughters you* will eat.

⁵³ And you will eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters, whom Jehovah your God has given you, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemies will distress you. ⁵⁴ The man who is tender among you* and very delicate, his eye will be evil toward his brother and toward the wife of his bosom and toward the remnant of his sons whom he has remaining, ⁵⁵ so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his sons whom he will eat, because he has nothing left to him, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy will distress you in all your gates.
⁵⁶ The tender and delicate woman among you*, who would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye will be evil toward the husband of her bosom and toward her son and toward her daughter, ⁵⁷ and toward her young one who comes out from between her feet and toward her sons whom she will bear, for she will eat them secretly for want of all things, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy will distress you in your gates.

²⁶ And as the King of Israel was passing by upon the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. ²⁷ And he said, If Jehovah does not help you, from where shall I help you? Out of the threshing-floor, or out of the winepress? ²⁸ And the king said to her, What troubles you? And she answered, This woman said to me, Give your son that we may eat him today and we will eat my son tomorrow. ²⁹ So we boiled my son and ate him. And I said to her on the next day, Give your son that we may eat him. And she has hid her son.

¹⁵ Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you.

⁹ And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters. And they will eat each one the flesh of his friend, in the siege and in the distress with which their enemies and those who seek their life, will distress them.

²⁰ See, O Jehovah and behold to whom you have done thus! Shall the women eat their fruit, the sons who are dandled in the hands? Shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?

⁴⁸ My eye runs down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

³ Even the jackals draw out the breast; they give suck to their young ones. The daughter of my people has become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.

¹⁰ Therefore the fathers will eat the sons in the midst of you and the sons will eat their fathers. And I will execute judgments on you and I will scatter to all the winds the whole remnant of you.
