²⁹ When they cast you down, you will say, There is lifting up and he will save the humble man.

¹⁹ He will deliver you in six troubles. Yes, in seven there will no evil touch you. ²⁰ In famine he will redeem you from death and in war from the power of the sword. ²¹ You will be hid from the scourge of the tongue. Neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
²² At destruction and dearth you will laugh, nor will you be afraid of the beasts of the earth. ²³ For you will be in league with the stones of the field and the beasts of the field will be at peace with you. ²⁴ And you will know that your tent is in peace and you will visit your fold and will miss nothing.
²⁵ You will know also that your seed will be great and your offspring as the grass of the earth. ²⁶ You will come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
²⁷ Behold this, we have searched it, so it is. Hear it and know it for your good.

² I will be glad and rejoice in you. I will sing praise to your name, O you Most High. ³ When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish at your presence.

¹⁴ Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high because he has known my name.
¹⁵ He will call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. ¹⁶ I will satisfy him with long life and show him my salvation.

⁹ Because behold, your enemies, O Jehovah, for behold, your enemies will perish. All the workers of wickedness will be scattered.
¹⁰ But you have exalted my horn like the wild ox's. I am anointed with fresh oil, ¹¹ and my eye has seen my enemies. My ears have heard of the evildoers who rise up against me.

⁶ Because Jehovah is high, yet he has respect to the lowly. But he knows the haughty from afar.

²³ A man's pride will bring him low, but he who is of a lowly spirit will obtain honor.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, also with him who is of a crushed and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the crushed.

² For all these things my hand has made and all these things came to be, says Jehovah.
But to this man I will look, even to him who is poor and of a crushed spirit and who trembles at my word.

²⁶ thus says the lord Jehovah: Remove the miter and take off the crown. This will be no more the same. Exalt what is low and humble what is high. ²⁷ I will overturn, overturn, overturn it. This also will be no more, until he comes whose right it is. And I will give it.

¹² But whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

⁵² He has taken down sovereigns from their thrones and has exalted the humble.

¹¹ Because everyone who is exalting himself will be humbled, and he who is humbling himself will be exalted.

⁹ Now he spoke this parable to some who have confidence in themselves, that they were righteous, and scorning the rest: ¹⁰ Two men went up into the temple to pray; the first one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood and was praying these things with himself, God, I give-thanks to you, that I am not like the rest of men: swindlers, unrighteous, adulterers or just-like this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe of all things, as many things as I procure. ¹³ And the tax collector, standing from afar, was not even willing to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his chest, saying, God, be lenient to me, the sinner. ¹⁴ I say to you, This one went down to his house, having been made righteous rather than that man, because everyone who is exalting himself will be humbled, but he who is humbling himself will be exalted.

⁶ But he is giving greater grace. Hence the Scripture says, ‘God resists the haughty, but gives grace to the humble.’

⁵ Likewise, the younger ones, be subject to the elder ones. But all of you be subject to one another, clothe yourselves with humility, because ‘God resists the haughty, but is giving grace to the humble.’
