¹ Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, ² Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself. ³ Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that you are righteous? Or is it gain to him that you make your ways perfect? ⁴ Is it for your fear of him that he reproves you, that he enters with you into judgment?
⁵ Is not your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities. ⁶ For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing and stripped the naked of their clothing. ⁷ You have not given water to the weary to drink and you have withheld bread from the hungry. ⁸ But as for the mighty man, he had the land. And the honorable man, he dwelt in it. ⁹ You have sent widows away empty and the arms of the fatherless have been broken. ¹⁰ Therefore snares are all around you and sudden fear troubles you, ¹¹ or darkness, so that you cannot see and abundance of waters cover you.
¹² Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the height of the stars, how high they are! ¹³ And you say, What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness? ¹⁴ Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he does not see and he walks on the vault of heaven.
¹⁵ Will you keep the old way which wicked men have trodden? ¹⁶ Who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream, ¹⁷ who said to God, Depart from us, and What can the Almighty do for us? ¹⁸ Yet he filled their houses with good things. But the counsel of the wicked is far from me. ¹⁹ The righteous see it and are glad. And the innocent laugh them to scorn, ²⁰ saying, Surely those who rose up against us are cut off and the remnant of them, the fire has consumed.
²¹ Acquaint now yourself with him and be at peace. By this good will come to you. ²² I beseech you, receive the law from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart. ²³ If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up, you put away unrighteousness far from your tents. ²⁴ Then you will lay up gold as dust and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. ²⁵ Yes, the Almighty will be your treasure and precious silver to you. ²⁶ For then will you delight yourself in the Almighty and will lift up your face to God.
²⁷ You will make your prayer to him and he will hear you and you will pay your vows. ²⁸ You will also decree a thing and it will be established to you. And light will shine upon your ways.
²⁹ When they cast you down, you will say, There is lifting up and he will save the humble man. ³⁰ He will deliver even him who is not innocent. Yes, he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.

¹³ to keep the commandments of Jehovah and his statutes, which I command you this day for your good?

¹⁵ What is the Almighty that we should serve him? And what profit should we have, if we pray to him?

⁶ If you have sinned, what do you effect against him? And if your transgressions be multiplied, what do you to him? ⁷ If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive of your hand?
⁸ Your wickedness is a man as you are and your righteousness is a son of man.

² You, my soul, have said to Jehovah, You are my Lord. I have no good beyond you.

¹³ The man who finds wisdom is fortunate, and the man who gets understanding. ¹⁴ Because the gain of it is better than the gain of silver and the profit of it than fine gold. ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies and none of the things you can desire are to be compared to her.
¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand are riches and honor. ¹⁷ Her ways are ways of pleasantness and all her paths are peace. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those who lay hold upon her. And everyone who retains her is fortunate.

⁷ Wisdom is the principal thing. Get wisdom, yes, get understanding with all your substance.
⁸ Exalt her and she will promote you. She will bring you to honor when you embrace her.
⁹ She will give to your head a wreath of beauty and of charm; she will deliver a crown of beauty to you.

¹² If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. And if you scoff, you alone will bear it.

¹¹ Wisdom is as good as an inheritance, yes, it is more excellent for those who see the sun. ¹² Because wisdom is a defense, even as money is a defense. But the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.

²⁹ Now if your right eye is offending you, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is advantageous for you, that one of your members should perish and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.

¹⁰ So also you, whenever you have done all the things which were commanded to you, say, We are useless bondservants, because we have done what we are obligated to have done.

⁷ Do not be misled. God is not ridiculed; for whatever a man sows, he will also be reaping this thing. ⁸ Because he who is sowing to his own flesh will be reaping corruption from his flesh, but he who is sowing to the Spirit will be reaping everlasting life from the Spirit.

¹⁷ I know also, my God, that you try the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. And now I have seen with joy your people, who are present here, offer willingly to you.

¹⁰ But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out as gold. ¹¹ My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way and not turned aside. ¹² I have not gone back from the commandment of his lips, I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

¹ I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I do not sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked man is before me.

³ Yes, they do no unrighteousness. They walk in his ways. ⁴ You have commanded your precepts, that we should observe them diligently.
⁵ O that my ways were established to observe your statutes! ⁶ Then I will not be put to shame when I have respect for all your commandments.

⁵⁹ I thought on my ways and turned my feet to your testimonies.

¹⁰ He does not delight in the strength of the horse. He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. ¹¹ Jehovah takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his loving kindness.

¹ A false balance is an abomination to Jehovah, but a just weight is his delight.

²⁰ Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Jehovah, but such as are perfect in their way are his delight.

²² Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah, but those who deal truly are his delight.

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

¹⁷ You* have wearied Jehovah with your* words. Yet you* say, How have we wearied him? In that you* say, Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of Jehovah and he delights in them, or Where is the God of justice?

¹⁶ But I apply myself in this, having a guilt-free conscience always toward God and men.

¹ Therefore beloved, having these promises, we should cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, completing holiness in the fear of God.

¹⁸ But I have all things, and I am abounding. I have been filled, having accepted from Epaphroditus the things which came from you, an aroma of a sweet-fragrance, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

¹² Am I a sea, or a sea-monster, that you set a watch over me?

¹⁹ If of strength behold, he is mighty! And if of justice, who will summon me?

³² For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, that we should come together in judgment.

³ And do you open your eyes upon such a one and bring me into judgment with you?

²¹ that he would maintain the right of a man with God and of a son of man with his neighbor!

²⁹ be you* afraid of the sword. For wrath brings the punishments of the sword, that you* may know there is a judgment.

⁶ Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would give heed to me. ⁷ There the upright might reason with him. So I should be delivered forever from my judge.

²³ For he needs no further to consider a man, that he should go before God in judgment.

¹¹ When you have disciplined a man with rebukes for iniquity, you make his desires to disintegrate like a moth. Surely every man is vanity. Selah.

⁶ At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.

¹⁶ It is burned with fire, it is cut down. They perish at the rebuke of your countenance.

³ If you, Jehovah, should note iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? ⁴ But there is forgiveness with you, that you may be feared.

² And do not enter into judgment with your servant. Because in your sight no man living is righteous.

¹⁴ Because God will bring every work with every hidden thing, whether good or evil into judgment.

¹⁴ Jehovah will enter into judgment with the elders of his people and the rulers of it. It is you* who have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of a poor man is in your* houses. ¹⁵ What do you* mean that you* crush my people and grind the face of the poor? says the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.

⁷ I beseech you, remember those who perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?
⁸ According to what I have seen, those who plow wickedness and sow trouble, reap the same. ⁹ By the breath of God they perish and by the blast of his anger they are consumed. ¹⁰ The roaring of the lion and the voice of the fierce lion and the teeth of the young lions, are broken. ¹¹ The old lion perishes for lack of prey and the cubs of the lioness are scattered abroad.

⁶ and that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For he is great in understanding. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.

¹⁴ if wickedness is in your hand, put it far away and do not let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.

⁵ For your iniquity teaches your mouth. And you choose the tongue of the crafty. ⁶ Your own mouth condemns you and not I. Yes, your own lips testify against you.

³¹ Let him not trust in vanity, making himself go-astray. For vanity will be his recompense. ³² It will be accomplished before his time and his branch will not be green. ³³ He will shake off his unripe grape as the vine and will cast off his flower as the olive tree.
³⁴ For the company of the hypocrites will be barren and fire will consume the tents of bribery.

²⁷ Behold, I know your* thoughts and the devices with which you* would wrong me.

³ His anger was also kindled against his three friends because they had found no answer and yet had condemned Job.

¹² Who can discern his errors? Acquit me from hidden sins.

¹² because innumerable evils have encompassed me around. My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs of my head and my heart has failed me.

²⁶ If you at all take your neighbor's garment to pledge, you will restore it to him before the sun goes down,

⁶ No man will take the mill or the upper millstone to pledge, for he takes life to pledge.

¹⁰ When you do lend your neighbor any manner of loan, you will not go into his house to fetch his pledge. ¹¹ You will stand outside and the man to whom you lend will bring forth the pledge outside to you.
¹² And if he is a poor man, you will not sleep with his pledge. ¹³ You will surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his garment and bless you. And it will be righteousness to you before Jehovah your God.
¹⁴ You will not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is of your brothers, or of your travelers that are in your land within your gates. ¹⁵ You will give him his hire in his day, neither will the sun go down upon it, for he is poor and sets his heart upon it, lest he cry against you to Jehovah and it is sin to you.
¹⁶ The fathers will not be put to death for the sons, neither will the sons be put to death for the fathers. Every man will be put to death for his own sin.
¹⁷ You will not distort the justice due to the traveler, or to the fatherless, nor take the widow's garments to pledge, ¹⁸ but you will remember that you were a bondman in Egypt and Jehovah your God redeemed you from there. Therefore I command you to do this thing.

³ They drive away the donkey of the fatherless. They take the widow's ox for a pledge.

⁹ There are men who pluck the fatherless from the breast and take a pledge of the poor, ¹⁰ so that they go about naked without clothing and being hungry they carry the sheaves.

¹⁹ if I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or that the needy had no covering; ²⁰ if his loins have not blessed me and if he has not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

⁷ and has not wronged any man, but has restored to the debtor his pledge, has taken nothing by robbery, has given his bread to a hungry man and has covered a naked man with a garment,

¹² has wronged the poor and needy man, has taken by robbery, has not restored the pledge and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, has committed abomination,

¹⁶ nor has wronged any man, has not taken anything to pledge, nor has taken by robbery, but has given his bread to a hungry man and has covered a naked man with a garment,

⁸ And they lay themselves down beside every altar upon clothes taken in pledge. And in the house of their God they drink the wine of such as have been fined.

⁷ If there is with you a poor man, one of your brothers, within any of your gates in your land which Jehovah your God gives you, you will not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother, ⁸ but you will surely open your hand to him and will surely lend him sufficient for his need which he wants.
⁹ Beware that there not be a worthless thought in your heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing and he cry to Jehovah against you and it is sin to you. ¹⁰ You will surely give him and your heart will not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing Jehovah your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you put your hand to.
¹¹ For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command you, saying, You will surely open your hand to your brother, to your needy and to your poor, in your land.

¹⁷ or have eaten my morsel alone and the fatherless has not eaten of it

³¹ if the men of my tent have not said, Who can find one who has not been filled with his food?

⁹ He has scattered, he has given to the poor. His righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted with honor.

²⁴ There is he who scatters and increases yet more and there is he who withholds more than is proper, but only to want.
²⁵ The generous soul will be made prosperous and he who waters will also be watered himself.

¹⁷ He who has pity upon a poor man lends to Jehovah and he will repay him his good deed.

⁷ Is it not to deal your bread to a hungry man and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house, when you see a naked man, that you cover him and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?

¹⁰ and if you draw out your soul to a hungry man and satisfy an afflicted soul, then your light will rise in darkness and your obscurity be as the noonday.

⁴² for I was hungry and you did not give me anything to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink;

²⁰ Therefore, if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for while doing this, you will be piling up hot-coals of fire upon his head.

¹¹ And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who dwelt in his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, just-as it was written in the letters which she had sent to them. ¹² They proclaimed a fast and set Naboth on high among the people.
¹³ And the two men, the worthless fellows, came in and sat before him. And the worthless fellows bore witness against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth cursed God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city and stoned him to death with stones. ¹⁴ Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned and is dead.
¹⁵ And it happened, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money, for Naboth is not alive, but dead.

⁸ Will you* show partiality to him? Will you* contend for God?

⁷ when I went forth to the gate to the city, when I prepared my seat in the street.
⁸ The young men saw me and hid themselves and the aged rose up and stood. ⁹ The rulers refrained from talking and laid their hand on their mouth. ¹⁰ The voice of the ranking men was hushed and their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth. ¹¹ For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me.
¹² Because I delivered the poor who cried, also the fatherless who had none to help him. ¹³ The blessing of him who was ready to perish came upon me and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.
¹⁴ I put on righteousness and it clothed me. My justice was as a robe and a diadem.
¹⁵ I was eyes to the blind and I was feet to the lame. ¹⁶ I was a father to the needy and I searched out the case of he whom I did not know. ¹⁷ And I broke the jaws of the unrighteous and plucked the prey out of his teeth.

³⁴ because I feared the great multitude and the contempt of families terrified me so that I kept my silence and did not go out of the door.

⁸ The wicked walk on every side when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

³ the captain of fifty and the honorable man and the counselor and the expert craftsman and the skillful enchanter.

¹⁵ The elder and the honorable man, he is the head. And the prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.

³ Their hands are upon what is evil to do it diligently. The ruler asks and the judge asks for a bribe. And the great man, he utters the evil desire of his soul. Thus they weave it together.

²¹ And you will not wrong a traveler, neither will you oppress him, because you* were travelers in the land of Egypt.
²² You* will not afflict any widow, or fatherless child. ²³ If you afflict them at all and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry, ²⁴ and my wrath will grow hot and I will kill you* with the sword and your* wives will be widows and your* sons fatherless.

¹⁹ Cursed be he who distorts the justice to the traveler, fatherless and widow. And all the people will say, Truly.

²¹ He devours the barren who do not bear and does no good to the widow.

¹² Because I delivered the poor who cried, also the fatherless who had none to help him. ¹³ The blessing of him who was ready to perish came upon me and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

¹⁶ If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail, ¹⁷ or have eaten my morsel alone and the fatherless has not eaten of it ¹⁸ (no, from my youth he grew up with me as with a father and her I have guided from my mother's womb);

²¹ if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, because I saw my help in the gate,

¹⁵ Break you the arm of the sinner and the evil man. His wickedness will be sought and will not be found.

¹⁷ Because the arms of the wicked will be broken, but Jehovah upholds the righteous.

⁶ They kill the widow and the traveler and murder the fatherless.

¹⁷ Learn to do good. Seek justice, make the oppressed fortunate, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

²³ Your rulers are rebellious and companions of thieves. Everyone loves bribes and follows after rewards. They judge not the fatherless, nor does the cause of the widow come to them.

² to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil and that they may make the fatherless their prey!

⁷ In you they have made light of father and mother. In the midst of you they have dealt with the traveler by oppression. In you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.

²² Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against Pharaoh King of Egypt. And I will break his arms, the strong arm and what was broken and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

⁵ And I will come near to you* to judgment and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers and against the adulterers and against the false swearers and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow and the fatherless and who turn aside the traveler and do not fear me, says Jehovah of hosts.

³ Now a widow was in that city, and she was coming often to him, saying, Avenge me of my opponent. ⁴ And he did not wish to at that time, but after these things, he said in himself, Even if I do not fear God, and do not revere man; ⁵ yet because this widow is harassing me, I will avenge her, in order that she may not pester me, coming often for an end of her opponent.

⁴ For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison of which my spirit drinks up. The terrors of God set themselves in array against me.

²¹ Withdraw your hand far from me and do not let your dread make me afraid.

⁸ For he is cast into a net by his own feet and he walks upon the toils. ⁹ A trap will take him by the heel. A snare will lay hold on him. ¹⁰ A noose is hid for him in the ground and a trap for him in the way.

⁶ know now that God has subverted me and has encompassed me with his net.

⁶ He will rain snares upon sinners. Fire and brimstone and burning wind will be the portion of their cup.

²⁷ when your* fear comes as a storm and your* calamity comes on as a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you*.

²⁵ Do not be afraid of sudden fear, nor of the desolation of the wicked, because it comes. ²⁶ Because Jehovah will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being taken.

³ For whenever they are saying, Peace and security; then sudden utter-destruction stands by them, just-like the travail a woman has in her womb, and they may never flee away from it.

¹⁴ They meet with darkness in the daytime and grope at noonday as in the night.

⁶ The light will be dark in his tent and his lamp above him will be put out.

¹⁸ He will be driven from light into darkness and chased out of the world.

⁸ He has walled up my way that I cannot pass and has set darkness in my paths.

³⁴ Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover you?

⁷ Deep calls to deep at the voice of your waterfalls. All your waves and your billows have gone over me.

¹ Save me, O God, because the waters have come in to my soul. ² I sink in deep mud where there is no standing. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

⁴ then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul, ⁵ then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.

¹⁹ The way of the wicked is as darkness. They do not know at what they stumble.

²² And they will look to the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish and into thick darkness to be driven away.

² He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness and not in light.

⁵⁴ Waters flowed over my head. I said, I am cut off.

² a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, as the dawn spreads upon the mountains, a great people and a strong, there has not been the like, everlasting, nor will be any more after them, even to the years of generations to generations.
³ A fire devours before them and behind them a flame burns. The land is as the garden of Eden before them and behind them a desolate wilderness. Yes and none has escaped them.

³ For you cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas and the flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me.

¹² but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness–the weeping and the gnashing of teeth will be there.

⁸ It is high as heaven; what can you do? Deeper than Sheol; what can you know?

³ Because I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have established, ⁴ what is man that you remember him? And the son of man that you care for him?

³ But our God is in the heavens. He has done whatever he pleased.

¹⁶ The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah, but the earth he has given to the sons of men.

² Do not be rash with your mouth and do not let your heart be hasty to utter anything before God. Because God is in heaven and you upon earth. Therefore let your words be few.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, also with him who is of a crushed and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the crushed.

¹ Jehovah says thus, Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool. What manner of house will you* build to me and what place will be my rest?

¹¹ He says in his heart, God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.

⁷ Behold, they pour out words with their mouth. Swords are in their lips, because they say, Who hears?

⁵ They encourage themselves in an evil purpose. They speak of laying snares secretly. They say, Who will see them?

¹¹ And they say, How does God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?

⁷ And they say, Jehovah will not see, nor will the God of Jacob consider.
⁸ Consider, you* the stupid among the people and you* fools, when will you* be wise? ⁹ He who planted the ear, will he not hear? He who formed the eye, will he not see?

¹⁵ Woe to those who hide deep their counsel from Jehovah and whose works are in the dark and who say, Who sees us? and, Who knows us?

¹² Then he said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, each man in his chambers of imagery? For they say, Jehovah does not see us. Jehovah has forsaken the land.

⁹ Then he said to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great and the land is full of blood and the city full of perverseness. For they say, Jehovah has forsaken the land and Jehovah does not see.

¹² And it will happen at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps and I will punish the men who are settled on their lees, who say in their heart, Jehovah will not do good, nor will he do evil.

⁹ He encloses the face of his throne and spreads his cloud upon it.

²² There is no darkness, nor thick gloom where the workers of wickedness may hide themselves.

¹⁴ From the place of his habitation he looks forth upon all the inhabitants of the earth;

² Clouds and darkness are all around him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

¹ O Jehovah, you have searched and known me. ² You know my sitting down and my rising up. You understand my thought afar off.

¹¹ If I say, Surely the darkness will overwhelm me and the light around me will be night, ¹² even the darkness does not hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness and the light are both alike to you.

²⁴ Can any man hide himself in secret places so that I will not see him? says Jehovah. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says Jehovah.

² But nothing is covered up, that will not be revealed; or secret, that will not be known. ³ Because as many things as you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in the storerooms will be preached upon the housetops.

⁵ And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only continually evil.

¹¹ And the earth was corrupt before God and the earth was filled with violence. ¹² And God saw the earth and behold, it was corrupt, because all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.
¹³ And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me, because the earth is filled with violence through them and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

²⁶ And just-as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will also be in the days of the Son of Man. ²⁷ They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being betrothed, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

¹¹ In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up and the windows of heaven were opened.

¹⁷ And the flood was forty days upon the earth. And the waters increased and bore up the ark and it was lifted up above the earth. ¹⁸ And the waters prevailed and increased greatly upon the earth and the ark went upon the face of the waters. ¹⁹ And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth and all the high mountains that were under the whole heaven were covered, ²⁰ fifteen cubits upward. The waters prevailed and the mountains were covered.
²¹ And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, from birds, to cattle, to beasts and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth and all mankind. ²² All died in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, of all that was on the dry land. ²³ And every living thing was destroyed that was upon the face of the ground, from man, to cattle, to creeping things and birds of the heavens and they were destroyed from the earth. And only Noah was left and those who were with him in the ark. ²⁴ And the waters prevailed upon the earth a hundred and fifty days.

¹⁹ The waters wear the stones. The overflowing of it wash away the dust of the earth. So you destroy the hope of man.

³² It will be accomplished before his time and his branch will not be green.

²³ But you, O God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty and deceitful men will not live out half their days, but I will trust in you.

²⁴ I said, O my God, do not take me away in the midst of my days. Your years are throughout all generations.

¹⁷ Do not much wrong, nor be a fool. Why should you die before your time?

²⁶ And everyone hearing these words of mine and who is not doing them, will be similar to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand; ²⁷ and the rain came down and the rivers came up and the winds blew and hit that house and it fell and great was its fall.

³⁷ But just-as the days of Noah were, so will the presence of the Son of Man also be. ³⁸ For just-as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and being betrothed, till the day that Noah entered into the ark, ³⁹ and they did not know until the flood came and took them all away; so the presence of the Son of Man will also be.

¹⁹ in which, he also traveled and preached to the spirits in prison, ²⁰ when they previously were disobedient, when the patience of God was waiting in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water;

⁵ and he did not spare the ancient world, but guarded Noah, the eighth person spared, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought a flood upon the world of ungodly people;

¹⁰ Their bull breeds and does not fail. Their cow brings forth safely and does not miscarry.

¹⁴ And they say to God, Depart from us, for we do not desire the knowledge of your ways. ¹⁵ What is the Almighty that we should serve him? And what profit should we have, if we pray to him?

⁶ There are many who say, Who will show us good? Jehovah, lift you up the light of your countenance upon us.

¹¹ You* get out of the way. Turn aside out of the path. Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

¹⁴ You* have said, It is vain to serve God and what profit is it that we have kept his charge and that we have walked mournfully before Jehovah of hosts?

²⁹ And behold, they cried out, saying, What is this thing with us and with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?

³⁴ And behold, all the city came out for a meeting with Jesus and when they saw him, they pleaded with him that he should proceed from their borders.

²⁸ And just-as they did not approve to have God in their full knowledge, God gave them up to an unapproved mind, to do those things which are not proper.

⁷ Jehovah makes poor and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up.

⁶ The tents of robbers prosper and those who provoke God are secure. Into whose hand God brings abundantly.

¹⁶ Behold, is their prosperity not in their hand. (The counsel of the wicked is far from me.)

¹ The man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers is fortunate,

¹⁴ from men by your hand, O Jehovah, from men of the world whose portion is in this life and whose belly you fill with your treasure. They are satisfied with sons and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

² You have planted them. Yes, they have taken root, they grow. Yes, they bring forth fruit. You are near in their mouth and far from their heart. But you, O Jehovah, know me. You see me and try my heart toward you.

¹⁷ Although he did not leave himself unwitnessed, by doing good, giving rainfalls and fruitful seasons to you from heaven, filling our hearts with nourishment and joy.

¹⁶ ‘I will turn back after these things, and I will build the tabernacle of David again, which has fallen. And I will build its ruins again. And I will straighten it,

²³ If the scourge kills suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.

¹¹ Let Mount Zion be glad. Let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments.48:12 Walk about Zion and go all around her. Number the towers of it,

⁶ The righteous also will see and fear and will laugh at him, saying,

¹⁰ A righteous man will rejoice because he sees the vengeance. He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,

⁸ Zion heard and was glad and the daughters of Judah rejoiced, because of your judgments, O Jehovah.

⁴² The upright will see it and be glad. And all unrighteousness will stop her mouth.

¹⁰ When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. And when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

²⁰ Be joyous over her: heaven and the holy-ones and the apostles and the prophets, because God has judged your condemnation from her
.

¹ I heard after these things, as it was a large voice of a large crowd in heaven, saying, Hallelujah! Salvation and power and glory, is from our God: ² because true and righteous are his judgments, because he has judged the great prostitute, she who was corrupting the earth in her fornication and he has avenged the blood of his bondservants from her hand.
³ And they have said a second-time, Hallelujah. And her smoke goes up forevermore.

²⁴ Then Jehovah rained brimstone and fire upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah, from Jehovah out of heaven.

¹⁶ While he was yet speaking, there came also another and said, The fire of God fell from heaven and has burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them and only I alone have escaped to tell you.

⁷ I beseech you, remember those who perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?

³ Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness? ⁴ If your sons have sinned against him and he has delivered them into the hand of their transgression,

³⁰ He will not depart out of darkness. The flame will dry up his offshoots and by the breath of God's mouth he will go away.

¹⁸ What he labored for will he restore and will not swallow it down. According to the substance that he has gotten, he will not rejoice.
¹⁹ For he has oppressed and forsaken the poor. He has violently taken away a house and he will not build it up.

²⁶ All darkness is laid up for his treasures. A fire not blown will devour him. It will consume what is left in his tent.

²⁷ Behold, I know your* thoughts and the devices with which you* would wrong me. ²⁸ For you* say, Where is the house of the prince? And where is the tent in which the wicked dwelt?

¹ Now there were some here at the same time reporting to him concerning the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. ² And Jesus answered and said to them, Do you think that these Galileans became sinners more than all the other Galileans, because they have suffered such things? ³ I am saying to you, No, but, if you do not repent, you will all likewise perish. ⁴ Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed, do you think that those became debtors more than all other men who are dwelling in Jerusalem? ⁵ I am saying to you, No, but, if you do not repent, you will all likewise perish.

²⁹ but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. ³⁰ According to these things, it will be in the day that the Son of Man is revealed.

⁶ and he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, with a catastrophe, incinerating them, having placed them as an example for those who are about to be ungodly; ⁷ and he rescued righteous Lot, who was being subjugated by the conduct of the immoral in their unbridled-lusts

⁹ And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind, for Jehovah searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

¹⁰ The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek Jehovah will not want any good thing.

⁵ Or else let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me. Yes, let him make peace with me.

¹⁹ I create the fruit of the lips. Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near, says Jehovah and I will heal him.
²⁰ But the wicked are like the troubled sea, for it cannot rest and its waters cast up mud and dirt. ²¹ There is no peace, says my God, to the wicked.

²⁵ Be agreeable with your opponent quickly, until which time you are with him on the road; lest the opponent should give you to the judge and the judge should give you to the attendant and you will be cast into prison.

³ But this is everlasting life, in order that they should know you, the only true God, and Jesus the Christ, whom you sent.

³⁶ The word which he sent to the sons of Israel, proclaiming the good-news of peace through Jesus Christ (this one is Lord of all).

⁶ Because it is God, who said, ‘Illumination shine’out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

²⁰ Therefore, we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ; as though God is encouraging you through us. We are beseeching you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

¹⁴ For he is our peace, who made us both one and tore-down the middle wall of the fence, ¹⁵ having done-away-with the hostility in his flesh, which is the Law of commandments in decrees; in order that he might create in himself the two into one new man, thus making peace; ¹⁶ and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility in himself. ¹⁷ And when he came, he proclaimed the good-news of peace to you who were from afar and peace to those who were near;

⁷ And the peace of God, which is superior to all perception, will be guarding your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

¹ And now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and to the ordinances, which I teach you*, to do them, that you* may live and go in and possess the land which Jehovah, the God of your* fathers, gives you*. ² You* will not add to the word which I command you*, neither will you* diminish from it, that you* may keep the commandments of Jehovah your* God which I command you*.

⁶ And these words, which I command you this day, will be upon your heart. ⁷ And you will teach them diligently to your sons and will talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. ⁸ And you will bind them for a sign upon your hand and they will be for bands between your eyes. ⁹ And you will write them upon the door-posts of your house and upon your gates.

¹² I have not gone back from the commandment of his lips, I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

¹¹ I have laid your word up in my heart that I might not sin against you.

¹ My son, if you will receive my words and lay up my commandments with you, ² so as to incline your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding, ³ because, if you cry after discernment and lift up your voice for understanding, ⁴ if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures, ⁵ then you will understand the fear of Jehovah and find the knowledge of God.
⁶ Because Jehovah gives wisdom. Out of his mouth is knowledge and understanding. ⁷ He lays up sound-wisdom for the upright, a shield to those who walk in integrity, ⁸ that he may guard the paths of justice and preserve the way of his holy ones. ⁹ Then you will understand righteousness and justice and uprightness, yes, every good path.

⁴ And he taught me and said to me, Let your heart retain my words. Keep my commandments and live.

²¹ Do not let them depart from your eyes. Keep them in the midst of your heart.

¹⁶ Your words were found and I ate them. And your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart. For I am called by your name, O Jehovah, God of hosts.

³⁵ The good man out of his good treasure is casting out good things and the evil man out of his evil treasure is casting out evil things.

⁵² Now he said to them, Because of this, every scribe who has been made a disciple to the kingdom of the heavens is similar to a man who is a householder, who casts forth out of his treasure, new and old things.

¹⁹ But Mary was keeping all these words to herself, pondering them in her heart.

⁵¹ And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and he was being subject to them and his mother was keeping all these words in her heart.

¹ Therefore furthermore brethren, we request and are encouraging you in the Lord Jesus, just-as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, in order that you might abound even more. ² For you know what commands we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

¹³ Up, sanctify the people and say, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow. For Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel, There is what has been set apart in the midst of you, O Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you* take away the devoted thing from among you*.
¹⁴ In the morning therefore you* will be brought near by your* tribes and it will be, that the tribe which Jehovah takes will come near by families and the family which Jehovah will take will come near by households and the household which Jehovah will take will come near man by man. ¹⁵ And it will be, that he who is taken with the devoted thing will be burnt with fire, he and all that he has, because he has transgressed the covenant of Jehovah and because he has done senselessness in Israel.
¹⁶ So Joshua rose up early in the morning and brought Israel near by their tribes and the tribe of Judah was taken.

⁵ if you would seek diligently to God and make your supplication to the Almighty, ⁶ if you were pure and upright, surely now he would awake for you and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.

¹³ If you set your heart aright and stretch out your hands toward him, ¹⁴ if wickedness is in your hand, put it far away and do not let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.

¹⁴ Behold, he breaks down and it cannot be built again. He shuts up a man and there can be no opening.

¹⁵ There will dwell in his tent what is none of his. Brimstone will be scattered upon his habitation.

²² And Jehovah will kill* Egypt, slaying and healing and they will return to Jehovah. And he will be entreated by them and will heal them.

⁶ Turn to him from whom you* have deeply revolted, O sons of Israel.

¹⁵ He who walks righteously and speaks in uprightness. He who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes away his hands from taking a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood and shuts his eyes from looking upon evil.

⁶ Seek Jehovah while he may be found. Call you* upon him while he is near. ⁷ Let the wicked man forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. And let him return to Jehovah and he will have mercy upon him and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

⁴ Again I will build you and you will be built, O virgin of Israel. Again you will be adorned with your tambourine and will go forth in the dances of those who make merry.

¹ O Israel, return to Jehovah your God, for you have fallen by your iniquity. ² Take with you* words and return to Jehovah. Say to him, Take away all iniquity and accept what is good. So we will render as bullocks the offering of our lips.

³ Therefore you say to them, Jehovah of hosts says thus:
Return to me, says Jehovah of hosts and I will return to you*, says Jehovah of hosts.

³ Then he said to me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole land. For everyone who steals will be cut off on the one side according to it and everyone who swears will be cut off on the other side according to it. ⁴ I will cause it to go forth, says Jehovah of hosts and it will enter into the house of the thief and into the house of him who swears falsely by my name. And it will abide in the midst of his house and will consume it, with the timber of it and the stones of it.

²⁰ But I was proclaiming first to them in Damascus, and in Jerusalem, and then to all the region of Judea and to the Gentiles, to repent and to turn to God, practicing works worthy of repentance.

⁷ having been rooted and being built up in him and being confirmed in the faith, just-as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

¹⁹ Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal, ‘The Lord knows those who are his,’

²⁰ But you, beloved, keep building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

²⁹ and Ophir and Havilah and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

²⁸ And they came to Ophir and fetched gold from there, four hundred and twenty talants and brought it to king Solomon.

²¹ And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None were of silver; it was accounted of nothing in the days of Solomon.

⁴⁸ Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold, but they did not go, for the ships were broken at Ezion-geber.

⁵ Moreover the brazen altar, that Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, was there before the tabernacle of Jehovah. And Solomon and the assembly sought to it.

¹⁰ And also the servants of Huram and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones.

²⁷ And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones and he made cedars to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.

²⁵ if I have rejoiced because my wealth was great and because my hand had gotten much;

⁹ Kings' daughters are among your honorable women. At your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir.

¹² I will make a man more rare than fine gold, even a man than the pure gold of Ophir.

¹ After these things the word of Jehovah came to Abram in a vision, saying, Do not fear, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.

⁵ Jehovah is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup. You maintain my lot. ⁶ The lines are fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, I have a fine heritage.

² Jehovah is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.

¹¹ Because Jehovah God is a sun and a shield. Jehovah will give favor and glory. He will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly.

⁶ And there will be stability in your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom and knowledge. The fear of Jehovah is your treasure.

¹⁰ Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

³¹ Therefore what will we say to these things? If God is working on our behalf, who is against us?

¹⁰ as sorrowful, yet even habitually rejoicing; as poor, yet enriching many; as having nothing and yet having all things.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brethren. Did God not choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to those who love him?

¹⁵ Surely then you will lift up your face without spot. Yes, you will be steadfast and will not fear.

¹⁰ Will he delight himself in the Almighty and call upon God at all times?

⁹ For you should not say, There will be no visitation to a man; visitation is to him from the Lord.

¹ To you, O Jehovah, I lift up my soul.

⁴ Delight yourself also in Jehovah and he will give you the desires of your heart.

⁴ Rejoice the soul of your servant, because, I lift up my soul to you, O Lord.

⁸ Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, because I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, because I lift up my soul to you.

³ As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

¹⁴ then you will delight yourself in Jehovah and I will make you to ride upon the high places of the earth and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. For the mouth of Jehovah has spoken it.

²² For I delight-inwardly in the law of God according to the inward man.

²⁰ because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and he knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have boldness toward God;

²⁶ He prays to God and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy and he restores to man his righteousness.

²⁸ so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him and he heard the cry of the afflicted.

¹⁴ Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High. ¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you and you will glorify me.

¹² Your vows are upon me, O God. I will render thank offerings to you.

¹³ I will come into your house with burnt offerings. I will pay you my vows, ¹⁴ which my lips uttered and my mouth spoke, when I was in distress.

¹⁷ I cried to him with my mouth and he was extolled with my tongue.
¹⁸ If I regard wickedness in my heart, the Lord will not hear. ¹⁹ But truly God has heard. He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
²⁰ Kneel to God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor his loving kindness from me.

¹⁵ He will call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him.

¹ I love Jehovah because he hears my voice and my supplications.

¹⁴ I will pay my vows to Jehovah, yes, in the presence of all his people.

⁴ When you vow a vow to God, defer not to pay it, because he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.

⁹ Then you will call and Jehovah will answer, you will cry and he will say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger and speaking wickedly,

⁹ But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of Jehovah.

¹⁴ And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us; ¹⁵ and if we know that he hears us whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from him.

³ when his lamp shone upon my head and by his light I walked through darkness,

⁴ grant your heart's desire and fulfill all your counsel.

¹⁷ And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us. And establish the work of our hands upon us, yes, the work of our hands establish it.

¹¹ Light is sown for the righteous man and gladness for the upright in heart.

⁴ To the upright there arises light in the darkness. He is gracious and merciful and righteous.

¹⁸ But the path of the righteous is as the dawning light, that shines more and more to the perfect day.

²¹ And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk you* in it when you* turn to the right hand and when you* turn to the left.

³⁷ Who is he that says and it happens, when the Lord does not command it?

² But to you* who fear my name the sun of righteousness will arise with healing in its wings and you* will go forth and frolic as calves of the stall.

²² And all things, as many things as you may ask in prayer, and believing, you will be receiving.

¹² Therefore, again Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. He who is following me may never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.

¹⁵ Instead of that, you should say, If the Lord wills, and we should also live, then we might do this or that.

¹⁹ He will deliver you in six troubles. Yes, in seven there will no evil touch you. ²⁰ In famine he will redeem you from death and in war from the power of the sword. ²¹ You will be hid from the scourge of the tongue. Neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
²² At destruction and dearth you will laugh, nor will you be afraid of the beasts of the earth. ²³ For you will be in league with the stones of the field and the beasts of the field will be at peace with you. ²⁴ And you will know that your tent is in peace and you will visit your fold and will miss nothing.
²⁵ You will know also that your seed will be great and your offspring as the grass of the earth. ²⁶ You will come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
²⁷ Behold this, we have searched it, so it is. Hear it and know it for your good.

² I will be glad and rejoice in you. I will sing praise to your name, O you Most High. ³ When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish at your presence.

¹⁴ Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high because he has known my name.
¹⁵ He will call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. ¹⁶ I will satisfy him with long life and show him my salvation.

⁹ Because behold, your enemies, O Jehovah, for behold, your enemies will perish. All the workers of wickedness will be scattered.
¹⁰ But you have exalted my horn like the wild ox's. I am anointed with fresh oil, ¹¹ and my eye has seen my enemies. My ears have heard of the evildoers who rise up against me.

⁶ Because Jehovah is high, yet he has respect to the lowly. But he knows the haughty from afar.

²³ A man's pride will bring him low, but he who is of a lowly spirit will obtain honor.

² For all these things my hand has made and all these things came to be, says Jehovah.
But to this man I will look, even to him who is poor and of a crushed spirit and who trembles at my word.

²⁶ thus says the lord Jehovah: Remove the miter and take off the crown. This will be no more the same. Exalt what is low and humble what is high. ²⁷ I will overturn, overturn, overturn it. This also will be no more, until he comes whose right it is. And I will give it.

¹² But whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

⁵² He has taken down sovereigns from their thrones and has exalted the humble.

¹¹ Because everyone who is exalting himself will be humbled, and he who is humbling himself will be exalted.

⁹ Now he spoke this parable to some who have confidence in themselves, that they were righteous, and scorning the rest: ¹⁰ Two men went up into the temple to pray; the first one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood and was praying these things with himself, God, I give-thanks to you, that I am not like the rest of men: swindlers, unrighteous, adulterers or just-like this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe of all things, as many things as I procure. ¹³ And the tax collector, standing from afar, was not even willing to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his chest, saying, God, be lenient to me, the sinner. ¹⁴ I say to you, This one went down to his house, having been made righteous rather than that man, because everyone who is exalting himself will be humbled, but he who is humbling himself will be exalted.

⁶ But he is giving greater grace. Hence the Scripture says, ‘God resists the haughty, but gives grace to the humble.’

⁵ Likewise, the younger ones, be subject to the elder ones. But all of you be subject to one another, clothe yourselves with humility, because ‘God resists the haughty, but is giving grace to the humble.’

²⁶ And Jehovah said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous men within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sake. ²⁷ And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken it upon me to speak to the Lord, who am I but dust and ashes.
²⁸ Perhaps there will lack five of the fifty righteous men. Will you destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, I will not destroy it, if I find forty-five there.
²⁹ And he spoke to him yet again and said, Perhaps there will be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for the forty's sake.
³⁰ And he said, Oh let the Lord not be furious and I will speak. Perhaps there will be thirty found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.
³¹ And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak to the Lord. Perhaps there will be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for the twenty's sake.
³² And he said, Oh let the Lord not be furious and I will speak yet but this once. Perhaps ten will be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for the ten's sake.

⁷ And it was so, that, after Jehovah had spoken these words to Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends. For you* have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.
⁸ Now therefore, take to you* seven bullocks and seven rams. And go to my servant Job and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering. And my servant Job will pray for you*, for him I will accept, that I not deal with you* after your* senselessness. For you* have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.

²⁰ Jehovah has rewarded me according to my righteousness. According to the cleanness of my hands he has recompensed me.

⁴ He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood and has not sworn deceitfully.

¹⁵ And when you* spread forth your* hands, I will hide my eyes from you*. Yes, when you* make many prayers, I will not hear; your* hands are full of blood.

¹² And those who will be of you will build the old waste places. You will raise up the foundations of generations and generations and you will be called The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

¹ Run you* to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem and see now and know and seek in the broad places of it, if you* can find a man, if there is any who does justly, who seeks truth and I will pardon her.

⁹ You* say, And now, I beseech you*, entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us; this has been by your* means. Will he accept any of your* persons? says Jehovah of hosts.

¹⁹ Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, Why were we not able to cast it out?
²⁰ Now Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief. For assuredly I am saying to you, If you have faith like a kernel of a mustard-seed, you will say to this mountain, Proceed from here to over there, and it will proceed, and nothing will be impossible for you.

¹⁵ But the evil spirit having answered, said to them, I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you? ¹⁶ And the man in whom the evil spirit was, leaping upon them and having mastered, prevailed against them, so-that they fled out of that house, naked and traumatized.

²⁴ saying, Do not fear, Paul; it is essential for you to stand-before Caesar and behold, God has granted to you all those who are sailing with you.

⁸ Therefore I will that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and evil reasoning.

¹⁵ And the vow of the faith will save the one who is weary and the Lord will lift him up, even if he has been practicing sins, it will be forgiven him.
¹⁶ Therefore confess your trespasses to one another, and pray on behalf of one another, that you may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man prevails; much in its working.
