¹³ For thus it will be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.

⁹ Unless Jehovah of hosts had left to us a seed, we should have been as Sodom, we should have been like Gomorrah.

¹³ And if there is yet a tenth in it, it also will in turn be eaten up. As a terebinth and as an oak, whose stock remains when they are felled, so the holy seed is the stock of it.

²⁰ And it will happen in that day, that the remnant of Israel and those who are escaped of the house of Jacob, will no more again lean upon him who killed* them, but will lean upon Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. ²¹ A remnant will return, even the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. ²² For though your people, Israel, be as the sand of the sea, a remnant of them will return. A destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness.

⁵ And it will be as when the harvestman gathers the standing grain and his arm reaps the ears. Yes, it will be as when he gleans ears in the valley of Rephaim. ⁶ Yet there will be gleanings left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree–two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost branches of a fruitful tree, says Jehovah, the God of Israel.

²⁸ And those who escape the sword will return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, few in number. And all the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to journey there, will know whose word will stand, mine, or theirs.

⁸ Yet I will leave a remnant, in that you* will have some who escape the sword among the nations, when you* will be scattered through the countries.
And those of you* who escape will remember me among the nations where they will be carried captive, how I have broken with their lewd heart, which has departed from me and with their eyes, which play the prostitute after their idols. ⁹ And they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
¹⁰ And they will know that I am Jehovah.
I have not said in vain that I would do this evil to them.
¹¹ The lord Jehovah says thus: Strike with your hand and stamp with your foot and say, Alas! because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, for they will fall by the sword, by the famine and by the pestilence.

¹⁶ But those of them who escape will escape and will be on the mountains like doves of the valleys. All of them moaning, each one in his iniquity.

⁴ And Jehovah said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men who sigh and who cry over all the abominations that are done in the midst of it.
⁵ And to the others he said in my hearing, Go through the city after him and kill*. Do not let your* eye spare, nor have you* pity. ⁶ Kill utterly the old man, the young man and the virgin and little sons and women, but do not come near any man upon whom is the mark. And begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the old men who were before the house.

¹⁶ Therefore say, The lord Jehovah says thus: Though I have removed them far off among the nations and though I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come.
¹⁷ Therefore say, The lord Jehovah says thus. I will gather you* from the peoples and assemble you* out of the countries where you* have been scattered and I will give you* the land of Israel. ¹⁸ And they will come there and they will take away from there all the detestable things of it and all the abominations of it.
¹⁹ And I will give them one heart and I will put a new spirit within you*. And I will take the stony heart out of their flesh and will give them a heart of flesh, ²⁰ that they may walk in my statutes and keep my ordinances and do them. And they will be my people and I will be their God.

²² Yet, behold, there will be left a remnant in it that will be carried forth, both sons and daughters. Behold, they will come out to you* and you* will see their way and their practices. And you* will be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.
²³ And they will comfort you* when you* see their way and their practices. And you* will know that I have not done all that I have done in it without cause, says the lord Jehovah.

¹² I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of you. I will surely gather the remnant of Israel. I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture. They will make great noise because of the multitude of men.

²² And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved, but because of the chosen, those days will be shortened.

² God did not thrust away his people which he knew beforehand. Or do you not know what the Scripture says by Elijah? How he petitions God against Israel, saying, ³ ‘Lord, they have killed your prophets and have made ruins of your altars, and I am left alone and they are seeking my life.’ ⁴ But what does the divine-answer say to him? ‘I have left to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.’ ⁵ Therefore so there has also become a remnant according to the chosen of grace in this current time. ⁶ But if it is by grace, it is no more from works, otherwise grace becomes grace no more. But if it is from works, no more is it grace; otherwise work is work no more.

⁴ But you have a few names in Sardis who did not defile their garments and they will be walking with me in white, because they are worthy.

² And the courtyard outside the temple cast away outside and do not measure it, because it has been given to the nations and they will be trampling on the holy city forty-two months.
³ And I will be giving to my two witnesses and they will be prophesying one thousand two hundred and sixty days, having been dressed in sackcloth.
