Genesis 2 Cross References - MLV

1 And the heavens and the earth were finished and all the host of them. 2 And God finished his work by the seventh day which he had made and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work which God had created and made.
4 These are the genealogies of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven. 5 And no plant of the field was yet in the earth and no herb of the field had yet sprung up, because Jehovah God had not caused it to rain upon the earth. And there was not a man to work the ground, 6 but there went up a mist from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.
7 And Jehovah God formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. 8 And Jehovah God planted a garden eastward in Eden and he put the man whom he had formed there.
9 And out of the ground Jehovah God made to grow every tree that is desirable to the sight and good for food; also in the midst of the garden the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden and from there it was divided and became four chief rivers. 11 The name of the first is Pishon. It is that river which encompasses the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 And the gold of that land is good; there is bdellium and the onyx stone too. 13 And the name of the second river is Gihon. The same is it which encompasses the whole land of Cush. 14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel. It is that river which goes east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.
15 And Jehovah God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to work it and to keep it. 16 And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden, 17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you will not eat from it. For in the day that you eat from it, you will surely die.
18 And Jehovah God said, It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make a helper for him. 19 And out of the ground Jehovah God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called every living creature, that was the name of it. 20 And the man gave names to all the cattle and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field, but for man there was not found a helper for him.
21 And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man and he slept. And God took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh under it. 22 And from the rib, which Jehovah God had taken from the man, he made a woman and brought her to the man.
23 And the man said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She will be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother and will cling to his wife and the two will be one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and they were not ashamed.

And all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. 23 And he said to them, This is what Jehovah has spoken, Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to Jehovah. Bake what you* will bake and boil what you* will boil and all that remains over lay up for you* to be kept until the morning. 24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses commanded and it did not become foul, neither was there any worm in it.
25 And Moses said, Eat that today, because today is a Sabbath to Jehovah. Today you* will not find it in the field. 26 Six days you* will gather it, but on the seventh day is the Sabbath, there will be none in it.
27 And it happened on the seventh day, that some of the people went out to gather and they found none. 28 And Jehovah said to Moses, How long do you* refuse to keep my commandments and my laws? 29 See, because Jehovah has given you* the Sabbath, therefore he gives you* on the sixth day the bread of two days. Abide every man in his place. Let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. 30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

Exodus 31:13-17

Everyone who profanes it will surely be put to death, because whoever does any work on it, that soul will be cut off from among his people. 15 Six days will work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to Jehovah. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he will surely be put to death. 16 Therefore the sons of Israel will keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their genealogy, for a everlasting covenant. 17 It is a sign between me and the sons of Israel everlasting. And I testified against them in the day in which they sold foods.
16 There dwelt men of Tyre also in it who brought in fish and all manner of wares and sold on the Sabbath to the sons of Judah and in Jerusalem.
17 Then I contended with the ranking men of Judah and said to them, What evil thing is this that you* do and profane the Sabbath day? 18 Did not your* fathers thus and did not our God bring all this evil upon us and upon this city? Yet you* bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the Sabbath.
19 And it happened that, when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the Sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut and commanded that they should not be opened till after the Sabbath. And I set some of my servants over the gates that there should be no burden brought in on the Sabbath day.
20 So the merchants and sellers of all kind of wares lodged outside Jerusalem once or twice. 21 Then I testified against them and said to them, Why do you* lodge outside the wall? If you* do so again, I will lay hands on you*. From that time forth they came no more on the Sabbath.
22 And I commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the Sabbath day. Remember to me, O my God, this also and spare me according to the greatness of your loving kindness.

4 For Jehovah says thus of the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths and choose the things that please me and hold fast my covenant: 5 To them I will give in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name better than of sons and of daughters. I will give them an everlasting name, that will not be cut off.
6 Also the foreigners who join themselves to Jehovah, to minister to him and to love the name of Jehovah, to be his servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath from profaning it and holds fast my covenant, 7 even them I will bring to my holy mountain and make them joyful in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted upon my altar, for my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.

Isaiah 58:13-14

13 If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day and call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy of Jehovah honorable and will honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words: 14 then you will delight yourself in Jehovah and I will make you to ride upon the high places of the earth and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. For the mouth of Jehovah has spoken it.

Jeremiah 17:21-27

21 Jehovah says thus: Take heed to yourselves and bear no burden on the Sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem. 22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your* houses on the Sabbath day, nor do you* any work. But sanctify yourselves the Sabbath day, as I commanded your* fathers. 23 But they listened not, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear and might not receive instruction.
24 And it will happen, if you* diligently listen to me, says Jehovah, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but to sanctify the Sabbath day, to do no work in it, 25 then there will enter in by the gates of this city kings and rulers sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their rulers, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And this city will remain everlasting.
26 And they will come from the cities of Judah and from the places all around Jerusalem and from the land of Benjamin and from the lowland and from the hill-country and from the South, bringing burnt offerings and sacrifices and meal offerings and frankincense and bringing things of thanksgiving, to the house of Jehovah.
27 But if you* will not listen to me to sanctify the Sabbath day and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in the gates of it and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem and it will not be quenched.

Hebrews 4:4-10

4 For he has thus spoken somewhere concerning the seventh day, ‘And God rested on the seventh day from all his works’; 5 and again in this one, ‘They will not be entering into my rest.’ 6 Therefore, since it is left for some to enter into it, and those to whom the good-news was proclaimed beforehand did not enter into it because of disobedience, 7 he again determines a certain day as today, saying in David, after so-much time, (just-as it has been said beforehand), ‘Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.’ 8 For if Joshua had given-rest to them, he would have not been speaking concerning another day after these things. 9 Consequently, a Sabbath-rest is left for the people of God. 10 For the one who entered into his rest has also rested from his works, just-as God did from his own.

Romans 1:32

32 Who, having fully known the ordinance of God, (that those practicing such things are worthy of death), are not only practicing the same things, but also are consenting with those who are practicing the same things.

Romans 5:12-21

12 Because of this, just-as sin entered into the world through one man and death through sin, and so death has gone forth to all men, in which all have sinned. 13 For Sin was in the world till the law, but sin is not charged to one’s account when there is no law. 14 But death reigned from Adam till Moses, even on those who did not sin on the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a pattern of the future one. \ulnone\nosupersub 15 But not like the trespass, so also is the gift. For if the many died by the trespass of the one, the favor of God and the gift by the favor of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded much more to the many. 16 Now the gift is not as through one who sinned; for indeed the judgment came from one into condemnation, but the gift came from many trespasses into an act of righteousness. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; much more they, who are receiving the abundance of the favor and of the gift of righteousness, will be reigning in life through the one, who is Jesus Christ. 18 Therefore consequently, as through one trespass the judgment came to all men to condemnation; so through the righteousness of one man the gift also came to all men into justification of life. 19 For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were designated as sinners, so also through the obedience of the one the many will be designated as righteous. 20 But the law entered in beside us, in order that the trespass might increase, but where sin increased, the favor over-abounded; 21 in order that, just-as sin reigned in death, so also the favor might also reign through righteousness to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 and the commandment which was to life, it was found in me to be to death; 11 for sin, having taken a starting-point through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me. 12 So-that the law indeed is holy and the commandment holy and righteous and good. 13 Therefore what is the good thing for me, has it become death? Let it not happen! But sin, in order that it might appear as sin, through what is the good thing for me, was working death; in order that sin might become a surpassingly-better sinner through the commandment.

4 But he answered and said to them, Have you not read, He who made them, made them male and female from the beginning. 5 And said, Because of this, a man will be leaving his father and mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will be jointed into one flesh. 6 So-that they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together; let man not separate.
7 They say to him, Therefore why did Moses command us to give a document of divorcement and to dismiss her?
8 He says to them, Moses permitted you to divorce your wives for your hardness of heart, but from the beginning it has not become so. 9 But I am saying to you, Whoever divorces his wife not over

Mark 10:6-12

6 But ‘God made them male and female’from the beginning of the creation. 7 ‘Because of this, a man will be leaving his father and mother and will be joined to his wife; 8 and the two will become one flesh,’so-that they are no more two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore, what God has yoked together, let man not separate.
10 And in the house, his disciples asked him again concerning the same thing. 11 And he says to them, Whoever divorces his wife and should marry another is committing adultery against her; 12 and if a woman divorces her husband and should marry another, she is committing adultery.

Ephesians 5:28-31

28 So the husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but is nourishing and cherishing it, just-as the Lord also does the congregation of believers; 30 because we are members of his body, out of his flesh and out of his bones. 31 Because of this, a man will be leaving his father and mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.

1 Peter 3:1-7

1 Likewise, wives be subject to your own husbands; in order that, even if some are disobedient to the word, they might be gained without a word through the conduct of their wives; 2 having eye-witnessed your pure conduct in fear; 3 whose adornment, do not let it be the outward adornment of braiding the hair, and of placing on of gold things or of clothing of expensive garments; 4 but let it be the hidden human things of the heart, in the incorruptible clothing of a meek and quiet spirit, which is greatly-valued in God’s sight. 5 For so, the holy women, those also hoping in God, were previously adorning themselves, being subject to their own husbands; 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children you became, doing good and not fearing any terror.
7 Likewise the husbands, dwell together with your wives according to the knowledge, bestowing honor to the wife, as the weaker vessel, as also being joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.
