¹¹ Then set it empty upon the coals of it, that it may be hot and the brass of it may burn and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.

²⁵ And I will turn my hand upon you and thoroughly purge away your dross and will take away all your tin.

⁴ when the Lord will have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and will have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst of it, by the spirit of justice and by the spirit of burning.

⁹ Therefore by this the iniquity of Jacob will be forgiven. And this is all the fruit of taking away his sin: that he makes all the stones of the altar like smashed chalk-stones, so that the Asherim and the sun-images will rise no more.

¹⁰ For I have set my face upon this city for evil and not for good, says Jehovah. It will be given into the hand of the king of Babylon and he will burn it with fire.

²⁹ And the Chaldeans, who fight against this city, will come and set this city on fire and burn it, with the houses upon whose roofs they have offered incense to Baal and poured out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger.

¹⁰ For though you* had struck the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you* and there remained but wounded men among them, yes they would rise up every man in his tent and burn this city with fire.

¹⁸ But if you will not go forth to the king of Babylon's rulers, then this city will be given into the hand of the Chaldeans and they will burn it with fire and you will not escape out of their hand.

⁸ And the Chaldeans burned the king's house and the houses of the people, with fire and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.

¹³ And he burned the house of Jehovah and the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem. Even every great house, he burned with fire.

³⁸ And I will purge out from among you* the rebels and those who transgress against me. I will bring them forth out of the land where they journey, but they will not enter into the land of Israel.
And you* will know that I am Jehovah.

¹⁵ And I will scatter you among the nations and disperse you through the countries and I will consume your filthiness out of you. ¹⁶ And you will be profaned in yourself, in the sight of the nations.
And you will know that I am Jehovah.
¹⁷ And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying, ¹⁸ Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me. All of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace. They are the dross of silver.
¹⁹ Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah: Because you* have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you* into the midst of Jerusalem ²⁰ as they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it. So I will gather you* in my anger and in my wrath and I will lay you* there and melt you*. ²¹ Yes, I will gather you* and blow upon you* with the fire of my wrath and you* will be melted in the midst of it.
²² As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so you* will be melted in the midst of it. And you* will know that I, Jehovah, have poured out my wrath upon you*.
²³ And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,

²⁶ They will also strip you of your clothes and take away your fair jewels.
²⁷ Thus I will make your lewdness to cease from you and your prostitution from the land of Egypt, so that you will not lift up your eyes to them, nor remember Egypt any more.

⁴⁷ And the company will stone them with stones and dispatch them with their swords. They will kill their sons and their daughters and burn up their houses with fire.
⁴⁸ Thus I will cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be instructed not to do according to your* lewdness.

²⁵ And I will sprinkle clean water upon you* and you* will be clean. I will cleanse you* from all your* filthiness and from all your* idols.

¹¹ and I will cut off the cities of your land and will throw down all your strongholds.
¹² And I will cut off witchcrafts out of your hand and you will have no more soothsayers. ¹³ And I will cut off your graven images and your pillars out of the midst of you and you will no more worship the work of your hands. ¹⁴ And I will pluck up your Asherim out of the midst of you and I will destroy your cities.

¹ In that day there will be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness. ² And it will happen in that day, says Jehovah of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land and they will no more be remembered. And I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

⁸ And it will happen, that in all the land, says Jehovah, two parts in it will be cut off and die, but the third will be left in it. ⁹ And I will bring the third part into the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried. They will call on my name and I will hear them. I will say, It is my people and they will say, Jehovah is my God.

¹ For, behold, the day comes, it burns as a furnace and all the proud and all who work wickedness, will be stubble. And the day that comes will burn them up, says Jehovah of hosts, that it will leave them neither root nor branch.

¹² whose winnowing fan is in his hand, and he will be thoroughly cleansing his threshing floor, and he will be gathering his grain into the barn, but the chaff he will be burning up with unquenchable fire.

¹² But if anyone is building on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, grass, straw, ¹³ the work of each one will become apparent. For the day will indicate it, because it is revealed in fire, and the fire will test the work of each one, of what sort it is.
