¹ It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom a hundred and twenty satraps, who should be throughout the whole kingdom, ² and over them three presidents, of whom Daniel was one, that these satraps might give account to them and that the king should have no damage.
³ Then this Daniel was distinguished above the presidents and the satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
⁴ Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no occasion nor fault, inasmuch as he was faithful, nor was there any error or fault found in him. ⁵ Then these men said, We will not find any occasion against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
⁶ Then these presidents and satraps assembled together to the king and said thus to him: King Darius, live forever. ⁷ All the presidents of the kingdom, the deputies and the satraps, the counselors and the governors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a strong interdict, that whoever will ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except of you, O king, he will be cast into the den of lions.
⁸ Now, O king, establish the interdict and sign the writing, that it is not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter. ⁹ Therefore king Darius signed the writing and the interdict.
¹⁰ And when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his chamber toward Jerusalem) and he knelt upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he did formerly.
¹¹ Then these men assembled together and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God. ¹² Then they came near and spoke before the king concerning the king's interdict. Have you not signed an interdict, that every man who will make petition to any god or man within thirty days, except to you, O king, will be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.
¹³ Then they answered and said before the king, That Daniel, who is of the sons of the captivity of Judah, does not regard you, O king, nor the interdict that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.
¹⁴ Then the king, when he heard these words, was very displeased and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him. And he labored till the going down of the sun to rescue him.
¹⁵ Then these men assembled together to the king and said to the king, Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians, that no interdict nor statute which the king establishes may be changed. ¹⁶ Then the king commanded and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spoke and said to Daniel, Your God whom you serve continually, he will deliver you.
¹⁷ And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den. And the king sealed it with his own signet and with the signet of his lords, that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel.
¹⁸ Then the king went to his palace and passed the night fasting, nor were instruments of music brought before him. And his sleep fled from him.
¹⁹ Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. ²⁰ And when he came near to the den to Daniel, he cried with a lamentable voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is your God, whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions?
²¹ Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever. ²² My God has sent his messenger and has shut the lions' mouths and they have not hurt me, inasmuch as before him innocence was found in me. And also before you, O king, I have done no harm.
²³ Then the king was exceedingly glad and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den and no manner of harm was found upon him, because he had trusted in his God.
²⁴ And the king commanded and they brought those men who had accused Daniel and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their sons and their wives. And the lions had the mastery of them and broke all their bones in pieces, before they came to the bottom of the den.
²⁵ Then king Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations and languages, who dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you*. ²⁶ I make a decree, that in all the dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for he is the living God and steadfast forever. And his kingdom is what will not be destroyed and his dominion will be even to the end. ²⁷ He delivers and rescues and he works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
²⁸ So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

²¹ Moreover you will provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating unjust gain and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties and rulers of tens, ²² and let them judge the people at all seasons. And it will be, that every great matter they will bring to you, but every small matter they will judge themselves. So it will be easier for yourself and they will bear the burden with you.

¹ Now it happened in the days of Ahasuerus (this is Ahasuerus who reigned from India even to Ethiopia over a hundred and twenty-seven provinces),

³¹ And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.

¹⁴ or to governors, as they are sent through him for vengeance on evildoers and praise to the doers of good.

³⁰ Therefore Jehovah, the God of Israel, says, I said indeed that your house and the house of your father, should walk before me everlasting, but now Jehovah says, Be it far from me, for those who honor me I will honor and those who despise me will be lightly esteemed.

²² And take heed that you* are not slack in this matter. Why should damage grow to the hurt of the kings?

⁴ For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I would have held my peace, although the adversary could not have compensated for the king's damage.

¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand are riches and honor.

⁶ He who sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off the feet and drinks injury.

⁴⁸ Then the king made Daniel great and gave him many great gifts and made him to rule over the whole province of Babylon and to be chief governor over all the wise men of Babylon.
⁴⁹ And Daniel requested of the king and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon, but Daniel was in the gate of the king.

¹⁶ But I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations and dissolve doubts. Now if you can read the writing and make known to me the interpretation of it, you will be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold about your neck and will be the third ruler in the kingdom.

²⁹ Then Belshazzar commanded and they clothed Daniel with purple and put a chain of gold about his neck and made proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.

²³ Because of this, the kingdom of the heavens has been similar to a certain king who wished to settle the account with his bondservants.

² And having summoned him, he said to him, What is this that I am hearing concerning you? Give me the account of your stewardship; for you are not able to be a steward any longer.

¹³ Now he called ten of his bondservants, and gave them ten two-hundred denarius coins, and said to them, Trade with this until I come. ¹⁴ But his citizens were hating him and sent an ambassador after him, saying, We do not wish that this one reign over us. ¹⁵ And it happened, while he was coming back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these bondservants, to whom he gave the silver, to be summoned to him, in order that he might know what they had made by trading.
¹⁶ Now the first came before him, saying, Lord, your two-hundred denarius coin has been worked up to ten two-hundred denarius coins more. ¹⁷ And he said to him, Well done, you good bondservant, because you became faithful in the least matters; you have ten cities, be the authority over them,. ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, Your two-hundred denarius coin, Lord, has produced five two-hundred denarius coins. ¹⁹ But he also said to him, You, become the authority over five cities. ²⁰ And a different bondservant came, saying, Lord, behold, here is your two-hundred denarius coin, which I had laid up in a handkerchief; ²¹ for I was fearing you, because you are an austere man. You lift up from what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.
²² But he says to him, I will be judging you out of your own mouth, you evil bondservant. You knew that I am an austere man, lifting up from what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? ²³ Then why did you not give my silver to the bank, and when I came back, I would have appropriated it together with interest?
²⁴ And he said to those standing beside him, Take away the two-hundred denarius coin from him, and give it to the one who has the ten two-hundred denarius coins.
²⁵ And they said to him, Lord, he has ten two-hundred denarius coins. Why?
²⁶ For I say to you, that to everyone who has, will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away from him. ²⁷ However my enemies, those men who did not wish that I should reign over them, lead them here and slaughter them before me.

² But furthermore, it is required in stewards, in order that someone should be found faithful.

³⁸ And Pharaoh said to his servants, Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the spirit of God? ³⁹ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Inasmuch as God has shown you all of this, there is none so discreet and wise as you. ⁴⁰ You will be over my house and according to your word all my people will be ruled. Only in the throne I will be greater than you. ⁴¹ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.

² that I gave my brother Hanani and Hananiah the governor of the castle, charge over Jerusalem, for he was a faithful man and feared God above many.

³ For Mordecai the Jew was next to king Ahasuerus and great among the Jews and accepted of the multitude of his brothers, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his seed.

³ Do not let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them about your neck, write them upon the tablet of your heart, ⁴ so you will find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

²⁷ He who spares his words has knowledge and he who is of a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

²⁹ See a man diligent in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before insignificant men.

¹³ Then I saw that wisdom excels folly as far as light excels darkness.

¹² inasmuch as an excellent spirit and knowledge and understanding, interpreting of dreams and showing of dark sentences and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Now let Daniel be called and he will show the interpretation.

¹⁴ I have heard of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.

²³ At the beginning of your supplications the commandment went forth and I have come to tell you, for you are a great delight. Therefore consider the matter and understand the vision.

¹⁸ And the men were afraid, because they were brought to Joseph's house and they said, We are brought in because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time, that he may seek occasion against us and fall upon us and take us for bondmen and our donkeys.

⁴ But his father and his mother did not know that it was of Jehovah, for he sought an occasion against the Philistines. Now at that time the Philistines had rule over Israel.

¹⁴ And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways and Jehovah was with him.

⁴ And Jonathan spoke good of David to Saul his father and said to him, Do not let the king sin against his servant, against David, because he has not sinned against you and because his works have been very good toward you. ⁵ For he put his life in his hand and killed* the Philistine and Jehovah worked a great victory for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?

¹⁴ Then Ahimelech answered the king and said, And who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king's son-in-law and is taken into your council and is honorable in your house?

¹² The wicked man plots against the righteous man and gnashes upon him with his teeth. ¹³ The Lord will laugh at him, because he sees that his day is coming.

³² A wicked man watches a righteous man and seeks to kill him. ³³ Jehovah will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

²⁷ An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to a wicked man.

⁴ Then I saw all labor and every skillful work, that a man is envied for this by his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

¹⁸ Then they said, Come and let us devise devices against Jeremiah. For the law will not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come and let us kill* him with the tongue and let us not give heed to any of his words.

²³ Yet, Jehovah, you know all their counsel against me to kill me. Do not forgive their iniquity, nor blot out their sin from your sight, but let them be overthrown before you. Deal with them in the time of your anger.

¹⁰ For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce and we will denounce him, say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall. Perhaps he will be persuaded and we will prevail against him and we will take our revenge on him.

⁸ Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near and brought accusation against the Jews.

⁴ and they counseled together in order that they might take-hold of Jesus with treachery, and might kill him.

¹⁸ For he knew that they had given him up because of envy.

²⁰ And having observed him, they sent forth agents, who themselves pretended to be righteous, in order that they might grab him from his speech, that they might give him to the rule and the authority of the governor.

² And the high-priests and the scribes were seeking how they might assassinate him; for they were fearing the people.

¹⁴ and said to them, You brought this man to me, as one turning away the people to riot, and behold, I have examined him in your sight, and found no crime in this man of which you accuse against him. ¹⁵ But even Herod found nothing. For he sent him back to you, and behold, nothing worthy of death has been done by him.

⁴ Therefore Pilate went outside again and says to them, Behold, I lead him outside to you, in order that you may know that I am finding no crime in him.

¹² But what I am doing, I will also continue to be doing it in order that I may cut off the starting-point from those who wish for a starting-point in order that they may be found just-as we in what they are boasting.

¹⁵ in order that you might become blameless and harmless children of God, flawless in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as illuminations in the world.

¹⁴ Therefore I will the younger widows to marry, to be childbearing, to manage the house, to never give a starting-point to those who lay in opposition to them because of reviling:

⁸ sound speech which is not condemnable; in order that the adverse one might be embarrassed, having no evil thing to say concerning us.

¹² having your good conduct seen among the Gentiles; in order that, in what they are speaking against you, as evildoers, they may glorify God in the day of visitation, having eye-witnessed things from your good works.

¹⁶ having a good conscience; in order that, in what they are speaking against you as evildoers, they may be ashamed who are railing at your good conduct in Christ.

¹⁴ If you are reproached in the name of Christ, you are fortunate, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. He is indeed blasphemed according to their manner, but he is glorified according to your manner. ¹⁵ For let not anyone of you suffer like a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or like a meddler in the affairs of others. ¹⁶ But if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this respect.

¹⁷ And he said to David, You are more righteous than I, for you have rendered to me good, and I have rendered to you evil.

⁸ And Haman said to king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom and their laws are diverse from those of every people, nor do they keep the king's laws. Therefore it is not for the king's profit to endure them.

⁶ Therefore when the high-priests and the attendants saw him, they cried-out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him!
Pilate says to them, You, take him and crucify him; for I am finding no crime in him.
⁷ The Jews answered him, We have a law and according to our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

¹³ nor are they able to present things concerning me, of which they are now accusing me. ¹⁴ But I confess this thing to you, that thus I am giving-divine service to the God of our forefathers according to The Way, which they call a sect, believing all things which are according to the law and which have been written in the prophets. ¹⁵ I have hope toward God, which these themselves also wait for, that there is about to be a resurrection of the dead, both of the righteous and unrighteous. ¹⁶ But I apply myself in this, having a guilt-free conscience always toward God and men.

²⁰ Or let these men themselves say what wrongdoing they found in me when I stood in front of the council, ²¹ or concerning this voice of which I cried out, standing among them. I am being judged by you today concerning the resurrection of the dead.

³ And I said to the king, Let the king live everlasting. Why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchers, lies waste and the gates of it are consumed with fire?

⁶ They gather themselves together. They hide themselves. They mark my steps, even as they have waited for my soul.

³ How long will you* set upon a man, that you* may kill, all of you*, like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?

² Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers, from the tumult of the workers of wickedness, ³ who have flashed their tongue like a sword and have aimed their arrows, even bitter words, ⁴ that they may shoot in secret places at a blameless man. Suddenly do they shoot at him and do not fear.
⁵ They encourage themselves in an evil purpose. They speak of laying snares secretly. They say, Who will see them?
⁶ They search out iniquities, saying, We have accomplished a diligent search. And the inward part of man and the heart are deep.

⁴ Then the Chaldeans spoke to the king in the Syrian language, O king, live forever. Tell your servants the dream and we will show the interpretation.

⁹ They answered and said to Nebuchadnezzar the king, O king, live forever.

¹⁰ Now the queen came into the banquet house because of the words of the king and his lords. The queen spoke and said, O king, live forever. Do not let your thoughts trouble you, nor let your countenance be changed.

¹¹ Then these men assembled together and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God.

²¹ Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever.

²³ But the governor said, For what evil has he done?
But they were crying out even-more, saying, Let him be crucified!
²⁴ Pilate seeing he profited nothing, but rather that an uproar is happening, took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; you will see to it.
²⁵ And all the people answered and said, His blood is upon us and upon our children.

²³ But they were urgently asking with loud voices for him to be crucified. And their voices and those of the high-priests were prevailing. ²⁴ But Pilate decided their request was to happen. ²⁵ Now he released the one who has been cast into the prison because of riot and murder, whom they were asking for, but he gave up Jesus to their will.

²² Now they were hearing him till this speech, and they lifted up their voice, saying, Take such a one away from the earth; for it was not proper for him to live.
²³ Now when they were crying out and tossing off their garments and casting dust into the air,

² Now having been called, Tertullus began to accuse Paul, saying, We are obtaining much peace through you and public-reforms are happening to this nation through your forethought.

² The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together, against Jehovah and against his anointed, saying,

⁹ He lurks in secret as a lion in his covering. He lies in wait to catch the poor man. He catches the poor man when he draws him in his net.

³ Because behold, they lie in wait for my soul.
The mighty gather themselves together against me, not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.

⁴ They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity. They delight in lies. They praise with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

¹ O God, do not keep your silence. Do not hold your peace and do not be still, O God. ² Because behold, your enemies make a tumult and those who hate you have lifted up the head.
³ They take crafty counsel against your people and consult together against your hidden ones.

²⁰ Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, which frames mischief by statute?

² Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the satraps, the deputies and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

⁶ And he who does not fall down and worship will the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

¹¹ And he who does not fall down and worship, will be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

²⁷ And the satraps, the deputies and the governors and the king's counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power upon their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed. Neither were their coats changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them.

⁵ O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him. Remember from Shittim to Gilgal, that you* may know the righteous acts of Jehovah.

¹² The lion tore in pieces enough for his cubs and strangled for his lionesses and filled his caves with prey and his dens with prey.

¹⁴ But the Pharisees having gone out, took counsel against him, that they should destroy him.

¹ And immediately in the morning, the high-priests with the elders and scribes, and the whole ruling council, made a council together and bound Jesus and carried him away and gave him up to Pilate.

¹⁰ But the high-priests counseled in order that they might also kill Lazarus;

⁵ Now it happened upon the next-day, that their rulers and the elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem; ⁶ and Annas the high-priest was there and Caiaphas and John and Alexander and as many as were from the high-priestly race. ⁷ And having stood them in the middle, they were inquiring, In what power or in what name, have you done this?

²⁶ The kings of the earth stood up and the rulers were gathered in the same place, against the Lord and against his Christ.’ ²⁷ For against truth, against your holy young-servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, together with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together ²⁸ to do as many things as your hand and your council predetermined to happen.

¹⁹ If it please the king, let there go forth a royal commandment from him and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it is not altered, that Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus and let the king give her royal estate to another who is better than she.

¹² Then the king's scribes were called in the first month, on the thirteenth day of it. And there was written according to all that Haman commanded to the king's satraps and to the governors who were over every province and to the rulers of every people, to every province according to the writing of it and to every people after their language, in the name of king Ahasuerus it was written. And it was sealed with the king's ring.

³ And Esther spoke yet again before the king and fell down at his feet and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite and his device that he had devised against the Jews.

⁸ Write also to the Jews, as it pleases you*, in the king's name and seal it with the king's ring, for the writing which is written in the king's name and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse.

¹⁰ And he wrote the name of king Ahasuerus and sealed it with the king's ring and sent letters by post on horseback, riding on swift steeds that were used in the king's service bred of the stud,

¹ Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees and to the writers who write perverseness,

¹² Then they came near and spoke before the king concerning the king's interdict. Have you not signed an interdict, that every man who will make petition to any god or man within thirty days, except to you, O king, will be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.

³⁵ The heaven and the earth will be passing away, but my words may never pass away.

⁹ Surely men of low degree are vanity and men of high degree are a lie. They will go up in the balances. They are together lighter than vanity.
¹⁰ Do not trust in oppression and do not become vain in robbery. Because if riches increase, do not set your* heart on it.

⁹ It is better to take refuge in Jehovah than to put confidence in rulers.

³ Do not put your* trust in rulers, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

² you are snared with the words of your mouth, you are taken with the words of your mouth.

²² Cease you* from man, whose breath is in his nostrils, for how is he to be accounted of?

³⁰ And listen you to the supplication of your servant and of your people Israel, when they will pray toward this place. Yes, hear you in heaven your dwelling-place and when you hear, forgive.

³⁸ whatever prayer and supplication be made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who will know every man the plague of his own heart and spread forth his hands toward this house,

⁴⁴ If your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way you will send them and they pray to Jehovah toward the city which you have chosen and toward the house which I have built for your name,

⁴⁸ if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who carried them captive and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen and the house which I have built for your name, ⁴⁹ then hear you their prayer and their supplication in heaven your dwelling place and maintain their case, ⁵⁰ and forgive your people who have sinned against you and all their transgressions by which they have transgressed against you and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them

⁵⁴ And it was so, that, when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication to Jehovah, he arose from before the altar of Jehovah, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.

¹³ For Solomon had made a brazen scaffold, five cubits long and five cubits broad and three cubits high and had set it in the midst of the court. And upon it he stood and knelt down upon his knees before all the assembly of Israel and spread forth his hands toward heaven.

³⁸ if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity where they have carried them captive and pray toward their land, which you gave to their fathers and the city which you have chosen and toward the house which I have built for your name,

⁵ And at the evening oblation I arose up from my humiliation, even with my garment and my robe torn and I fell upon my knees and spread out my hands to Jehovah my God,

¹¹ And I said, Should such a man as I flee? And who is there, that, being such as I, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.

⁷ But as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will worship toward your holy temple in your fear.

¹ I take refuge in Jehovah. How will you* say to my soul, Flee like a bird to your* mountain.
² Because, behold, the wicked bend the bow. They make ready their arrow upon the string that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

¹ I will praise Jehovah at all times. His praise will continually be in my mouth.

¹⁷ Evening and morning and at noonday, I will complain and moan. And he will hear my voice.

³ Be merciful to me, O Lord, because I cry all the day long to you.

⁶ O come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before Jehovah our maker.

¹³ Then they answered and said before the king, That Daniel, who is of the sons of the captivity of Judah, does not regard you, O king, nor the interdict that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.

⁴ And I said, I am cast out from before your eyes. Yet I will look again toward your holy temple.

²⁸ And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear the one who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. ²⁹ Are two sparrows not sold for a copper coin? And not one out of them will be falling to the earth without your Father knowing it; ³⁰ but even the hairs of your head are all numbered. ³¹ Therefore do not fear, because you are carrying more-value than many sparrows. ³² Therefore, everyone who will confess to be in me before men, I will also confess to be in him before my Father, who is in the heavens. ³³ But whoever denies me before men, I will also be denying him before my Father who is in the heavens.

⁴ But I am saying to you my friends, Do not be afraid of those who kill the body and they do not have, after these things, anything more-than that to do against you. ⁵ But I will be showing you whom you should fear. Fear him, who after he has killed you, has authority to cast you into hell. Yes, I say to you, Fear him.
⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one out of them has been forgotten in God’s sight. ⁷ But even the hairs of your head have all been numbered. Therefore do not fear. You carry more-value than many sparrows.
⁸ Now I say to you, Everyone–whomever confesses to be in me before men, the Son of Man will also confess to be in him before the messengers of God. ⁹ But he who has denied me in the sight of men will be denied in the sight of the messengers of God.

²⁶ If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brethren and sisters, and also, still his own life, he is not able to be my disciple.

⁴¹ And he pulled away from them approximately a stone’s throw, and having placed himself on his knees, he was praying,

¹ And while the day of Pentecost was being fulfilled, they were united in the same place. \ulnone\nosupersub ² And suddenly there became a noise from heaven just-like the bringing of a violent wind and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

¹⁵ For these men are not drunken, as you take it to be; for it is only the third hour of the day.

¹ Now Peter and John were going up at the same time into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

¹⁷ But in order that it should not circulate, more-than this into the people, we will threaten them with more threatening, to no longer speak to any man in this name. ¹⁸ And they called them back and commanded them not to speak nor teach to any in the name of Jesus.
¹⁹ But Peter and John answered and said to them, Judge for yourselves if it is righteous in God’s sight to listen to you rather than to God.

²⁹ And hereafter, Lord, look upon their threats and give to your bondservants to speak your word with all boldness,

²⁰ Travel, and when you stand in the temple, speak to the people all the words of this life.

²⁹ But Peter and the apostles answered and said, It is essential for us to obey God rather than men.

⁴⁰ Now they were persuaded by him, and having called the apostles to them, they whipped them, and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them. ⁴¹ Therefore indeed, they were traveling from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were deemed worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the name of Jesus. ⁴² And they were not ceasing, teaching and proclaiming the good-news of Jesus as the Christ every day both in the temple and in every house.

⁶⁰ Now having placed his knees down, he cried with a loud voice, Lord, do not weigh this, their sin, to them. And having said this, he fell-asleep.

⁴⁰ But when Peter cast them all outside; having placed his knees down, he prayed, and having turned again to the body, he said, Tabitha, rise up. And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

⁹ Now on the next-day, while those men are traveling and drawing near to the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray, around the sixth hour.

²⁴ But I make account of nothing, nor am I holding my life as precious to myself, as I desire to complete my course with joy, and the service which I received from the Lord Jesus, to thoroughly testify the good-news of the favor of God.

³⁶ And having said these things, he placed himself on his knees and prayed together with them all.

⁵ Now when it happened for us to finish the days there, we came out and were traveling on, and they all, together with their wives and children, sent us onward until we were outside the city, and having placed the knees down upon the beach, we prayed,

¹⁴ Because of this, I am bowing my knees to the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁴ and that most of the brethren in the Lord, having confidence because of my bonds, are even-more daring to speak fearlessly the word of God.

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will be shamed in nothing, but as always, now Christ will also be magnified in my body in all boldness, whether through life or through death.

⁶ Be anxious in nothing, but in everything, let your requests be made known to God by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving.

¹⁷ And everything, anything, whatever you do in word or in work, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving-thanks to the God and Father through him.

¹⁷ Pray constantly. ¹⁸ Give-thanks in everything; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

¹⁶ Therefore let us come near to the throne of the grace with boldness, in order that we may receive mercy and may find grace for opportune help.

¹⁵ Therefore, let us always offer up a sacrifice of praising through him to God, that is, the fruit of our lips confessing in his name.

¹⁰ Let no one fear the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some from you into prison, in order that you may be tested and you will have affliction ten days. Become faithful to death and I will be giving you the crown of life.

¹³ I know your works and where you dwell–where the Adversary’s throne is, and you are holding-fast my name and did not deny my faith in the days, in which my witness, the faithful Antipas was killed beside you, where the Adversary is dwelling.

⁶ Then these presidents and satraps assembled together to the king and said thus to him: King Darius, live forever.

⁸ Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near and brought accusation against the Jews. ⁹ They answered and said to Nebuchadnezzar the king, O king, live forever. ¹⁰ You, O king, have made a decree, that every man who will hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, trigon, psaltery and dulcimer and all kinds of music, will fall down and worship the golden image. ¹¹ And he who does not fall down and worship, will be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
¹² There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego. These men, O king, have not regarded you. They do not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.

⁸ Now, O king, establish the interdict and sign the writing, that it is not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.

¹⁹ But when her lords saw that the hope of their business was gone, grabbing Paul and Silas, they dragged them into the marketplace in front of the rulers.

²⁴ Having received such a command, he cast them into the inner prison and secured their feet in the wood stocks.

² Now having been called, Tertullus began to accuse Paul, saying, We are obtaining much peace through you and public-reforms are happening to this nation through your forethought. ³ We are accepting it both in all things and everywhere, with all thanksgiving, most-excellent Felix. ⁴ But in order that I may not hinder you more, I plead with you by your gentleness to hear us briefly. ⁵ For we have found this man a plague, and he is moving this dissension to all the Jews throughout the inhabited-earth. And he is a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes; ⁶ who also attempted to profane the temple; whom we also took-hold of. And was willing to be judged according to our law. \ulnone\nosupersub ⁷ Now Lysias the commander having come near, with much violence, did take away Paul out of our hands, \ulnone\nosupersub ⁸ having commanded his accusers to come to you. From whom, having examined him, you will be able to fully know concerning all these things of which we are accusing him. ⁹ But the Jews themselves banded together in the attack, thus claiming these things to hold truth.

⁶ Now among these were, of the sons of Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.

²⁵ Then Arioch brought Daniel in before the king in haste and said thus to him: I have found a man of the sons of the captivity of Judah, who will make known the interpretation to the king.

¹³ Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king spoke and said to Daniel, Are you that Daniel, who are of the sons of the captivity of Judah, whom my father the king brought out of Judah?

⁷ whom Jason has accepted and all these practice things adverse to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is a different king, a Jesus.

²⁸ And afterward, when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before Jehovah until everlasting of the blood of Abner the son of Ner. ²⁹ Let it fall upon the head of Joab and upon all his father's house. And let there not fail from the house of Joab one who has a discharge, or who is a leper, or who leans on a staff, or who falls by the sword, or who lacks bread.

¹³ Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego. Then they brought these men before the king.

¹⁷ Therefore, having been gathered together, Pilate said to them, Whom do you wish that I may release to you? Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ? ¹⁸ For he knew that they had given him up because of envy.
¹⁹ Now while sitting upon the judicial-seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have nothing between you and that righteous man; for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of him.
²⁰ Now the high-priests and the elders persuaded the crowds in order that they should ask for Barabbas and should destroy Jesus. ²¹ But the governor answered and said to them, Whom do you will that I may release to you from the two?
But they said, Barabbas!
²² Pilate says to them, Therefore what should I do to Jesus who is called Christ?
They all say to him, Let him be crucified!
²³ But the governor said, For what evil has he done?
But they were crying out even-more, saying, Let him be crucified!
²⁴ Pilate seeing he profited nothing, but rather that an uproar is happening, took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; you will see to it.

²⁶ And the king became very sorrowful, but because of his oaths and those who reclined at the meal together with him, he did not wish to reject her.

¹³ Now Pilate called together the high-priests and the rulers and the people, ¹⁴ and said to them, You brought this man to me, as one turning away the people to riot, and behold, I have examined him in your sight, and found no crime in this man of which you accuse against him. ¹⁵ But even Herod found nothing. For he sent him back to you, and behold, nothing worthy of death has been done by him. ¹⁶ Therefore, after having disciplined him, I will be releasing him. ¹⁷ But, he had to release to them one prisoner at the feast by necessity.
¹⁸ But they cried out altogether, saying, Take this one and release Barabbas to us. ¹⁹ He was one who has been cast into prison because of a certain riot, which happened in the city, and for murder.
²⁰ Therefore Pilate shouted to them again, wishing to release Jesus.
²¹ But they were shouting out, saying, Crucify him! Crucify him!

⁷ The Jews answered him, We have a law and according to our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
⁸ Therefore when Pilate heard this word, he was more afraid; ⁹ and he entered into the palace again and says to Jesus, Where are you from? But Jesus gave him no answer. ¹⁰ Therefore Pilate says to him, Why do you not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to release you and have authority to crucify you?
¹¹ Jesus answered, You have no authority against me, except what was given to you from above. He who gave me to you has the greater sin because of this.
¹² From this time, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews were crying out, saying, If you release this one, you are no friend of Caesar. Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.

²⁰ Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, which frames mischief by statute? ²¹ They gather themselves together against the soul of a righteous man and condemn innocent blood.

³⁹ And I am this day weak, though anointed king and these men the sons of Zeruiah are too hard for me. Jehovah reward the evildoer according to his wickedness.

¹⁹ He will deliver you in six troubles. Yes, in seven there will no evil touch you.

³⁹ But the salvation of the righteous is from Jehovah. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble, ⁴⁰ and Jehovah helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from sinners and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.

¹⁴ Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high because he has known my name.
¹⁵ He will call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. ¹⁶ I will satisfy him with long life and show him my salvation.

⁸ It is better to take refuge in Jehovah than to put confidence in man. ⁹ It is better to take refuge in Jehovah than to put confidence in rulers.

²⁵ The fear of man brings a snare, but he who puts his trust in Jehovah will be safe.

² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, nor will the flame kindle upon you.

¹⁴ But as for me, behold, I am in your* hand. Do with me as is good and right in your* eyes.

⁵ And Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your* hand, for the king is not he who can do anything against you*.

¹⁵ Now if you* are ready that at what time you* hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, trigon, psaltery and dulcimer and all kinds of music, you* fall down and worship the image which I have made, well. But if you* do not worship, you* will be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is that god who will deliver you* out of my hands?

¹⁷ If it is so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

²⁸ Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who has sent his messenger and delivered his servants who trusted in him and have changed the king's word and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

⁷ All the presidents of the kingdom, the deputies and the satraps, the counselors and the governors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a strong interdict, that whoever will ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except of you, O king, he will be cast into the den of lions.

²⁰ And when he came near to the den to Daniel, he cried with a lamentable voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is your God, whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions?

⁸ Now being pushed forward by her mother, she says, Give me the head of John the Immerser upon a platter here.
⁹ And the king was sorrowful, but because of his oaths and of those who reclined at the meal together with him, he commanded it to be given. ¹⁰ And he sent and beheaded John in the prison.

²³ But the governor said, For what evil has he done?
But they were crying out even-more, saying, Let him be crucified!

²⁶ And the king became very sorrowful, but because of his oaths and those who reclined at the meal together with him, he did not wish to reject her. ²⁷ And immediately, the king sent forth an executioner and commanded his head to be brought. ²⁸ Now he went and beheaded him in the prison, and brought his head upon a platter and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother.

¹⁴ But Pilate said to them, For what evil has he done?
But they cried out even-more, Crucify him. ¹⁵ Now Pilate, willing to do what was sufficient for the crowd, released to them Barabbas and gave up Jesus, having scourged him, in order that he might be crucified.

¹² From this time, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews were crying out, saying, If you release this one, you are no friend of Caesar. Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar. ¹³ Therefore when Pilate heard this word, he led Jesus outside and sat down upon the judicial-seat in a place called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha. ¹⁴ But it was the Preparation of the Passover and was approximately the sixth hour.
Now he says to the Jews, Behold, your King!
¹⁵ But they cried-out, Take him, take him, crucify him!
Pilate says to them, Shall I crucify your King?
The high-priests answered, We have no king except Caesar. ¹⁶ Therefore, then he gave him to them in order that he might be crucified and they took Jesus and led him away.

²⁷ But when two years were fulfilled, Felix received a successor, Porcius Festus, and wishing to lay up favors for himself with the Jews, Felix left Paul bound.

⁹ But Festus, wishing to lay up a favor for himself with the Jews, answered and said to Paul, Are you willing, after having gone to Jerusalem, to be judged there concerning these things in front of me?

¹¹ For if I indeed am wronging anyone, and have practiced anything worthy of death, I do not renounce to die, but if there is nothing of what these are accusing me; no one is able to grant me to them. I myself am appealing to Caesar.

²³ For there stood beside me this night a messenger of the God, whose I am, to whom I also am giving-divine service to, ²⁴ saying, Do not fear, Paul; it is essential for you to stand-before Caesar and behold, God has granted to you all those who are sailing with you.

³ For rulers are not a fear to those of the good works, but to those of the evil works. And you do not wish to be afraid of the authority, do you? Do what is the good thing and you will have praise from it;

⁵³ They have cut off my life in the pit and have cast a stone upon me.

⁶⁰ and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewed out in the rock and he rolled a great stone against the door of the tomb and went away. ⁶¹ Now Mary the Magdalene and the other Mary were there, sitting in front of the burial chamber.
⁶² Now on the next-day, which is the day after the Preparation, the high-priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate, ⁶³ saying, Lord, we remember what that misleader said, while still living, I will arise after three days. ⁶⁴ Therefore, command that the burial chamber be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples coming by night, might steal him away and might say to the people, He was raised from the dead and the last deceit will be worse than the first.
⁶⁵ Pilate said to them, You have a sentry. Go, make it as secure as you know how. ⁶⁶ So they traveled and secured the burial chamber, sealing the stone, with the sentry.

⁴ He also arrested him, and placed him in prison and gave him to four companies of four soldiers to guard him; planning to lead him out to the people after the Passover.

²³ And having laid many lashes on them, they cast them into prison, after having commanded the jailor to securely guard them. ²⁴ Having received such a command, he cast them into the inner prison and secured their feet in the wood stocks.

¹⁶ David therefore besought God for the child. And David fasted and went in and lay all night upon the ground. ¹⁷ And the elders of his house arose, and stood beside him, to raise him up from the ground, but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.

²⁴ And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king. And he had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came home in peace.

²⁷ And it happened, when Ahab heard those words, that he tore his clothes and put sackcloth upon his flesh and fasted and lay in sackcloth and went softly.

¹ On that night the king could not sleep. And he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles and they were read before the king.

¹² They sing to the timbrel and harp and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.

⁴ You have held my eyelids watching. I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

² We hung up our harps upon the willows in the midst of it.

⁸ I also gathered silver and gold and the treasure of kings and of the provinces for me.

⁸ The joy of tambourine ceases. The noise of those who rejoice ends. The joy of the harp ceases. ⁹ They will not drink wine with a song. Strong drink will be bitter to those who drink it.

¹ And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams. And his spirit was troubled and his sleep went from him.

⁴ who lie upon beds of ivory and stretch themselves upon their couches and eat the lambs out of the flock and the calves out of the midst of the stall, ⁵ who scatter-words to the mouth of the harp, who invent for themselves instruments of music, like David, ⁶ who drink wine in bowls and anoint themselves with the chief oils, but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

³ So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of Jehovah. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, of three days' journey. ⁴ And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey. And he cried out and said, Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown.
⁵ And the people of Nineveh believed God and they proclaimed a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
⁶ And the news reached the king of Nineveh and he arose from his throne and laid his robe from him and covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes. ⁷ And he made proclamation and proclaimed through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything. Do not let them feed, nor drink water, ⁸ but let them be covered with sackcloth, both man and beast and let them cry mightily to God. Yes, let them turn each one from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.
⁹ Who knows whether God will not turn and relent and turn away from his fierce anger, that we not perish?

²² And the voice of harpists and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters may never be heard in you anymore, and every craftsman of every craft may never be found in you anymore, and the voice of a millstone may never be heard in you anymore;

¹ Now after the Sabbath day, as it was dawning toward the first daylight of the week, Mary the Magdalene and the other Mary came to view the burial chamber.

² And exceedingly early in the morning on the first day of the week, they are coming upon the tomb when the sun had risen.

¹³ I had no relief in my spirit because I did not find Titus my brother, but when I had bid farewell to them, I went forth into Macedonia.

⁵ Because of this, no longer forbearing it, I also sent Timothy, that I might know your faith, lest the tempter had tempted you, and our labor might become vain.

¹⁴ Is anything too hard for Jehovah? At the set time I will return to you, when the season comes round and Sarah will have a son.

²³ And Jehovah said to Moses, Is Jehovah's hand grown short? Now you will see whether my word will happen to you or not.

¹⁵ Now if you will kill this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying, ¹⁶ Because Jehovah was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.

¹¹ Seek Jehovah and his strength. Seek his face continually.

¹⁴ But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more. ¹⁵ My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all the day, because I do not know the numbers.
¹⁶ I will come with the mighty acts of the lord Jehovah. I will make mention of your righteousness, yours only!
¹⁷ O God, you have taught me from my youth and I have declared your wondrous works until now.
¹⁸ Yes, even when I am old and gray headed, O God, forsake me not, until I have declared your strength to a generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

²³ Nevertheless I am continually with you. You have held my right hand.

¹¹² I have inclined my heart to perform your everlasting statutes, even to the end.

² While I live I will praise Jehovah. I will sing praises to my God while I have any being.

¹⁷ Do not let your heart envy sinners, but be in the fear of Jehovah all the day long. ¹⁸ Because surely there is a reward and your hope will not be cut off.

¹⁷ Ah lord Jehovah! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you,

²⁸ Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who has sent his messenger and delivered his servants who trusted in him and have changed the king's word and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
²⁹ Therefore I make a decree, that every people, nation and language, which speaks anything negligent against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, will be cut in pieces and their houses will be made a dunghill, because there is no other god who is able to deliver after this sort.

¹⁶ Then the king commanded and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spoke and said to Daniel, Your God whom you serve continually, he will deliver you.

²⁷ He delivers and rescues and he works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

⁶ Therefore turn to your God. Keep kindness and justice and wait for your God continually.

³⁷ because every declaration from God will not be powerless.

¹ Now he also spoke a parable to them, to show that it is essential for them to always pray, and not to be depressed;

⁴ But we will be persevering in prayer and in the service of the word.

⁷ Everlasting life to those who indeed by endurance in good work are seeking glory and honor and incorruption.

¹⁰ who rescued us out of so-great a death and is rescuing us; in whom we have hoped that he will also still be rescuing us.

² Persevere in your prayer, watching in it in thanksgiving;

¹² Because of which case, I also am suffering these things too, but I am not ashamed; for I know the one whom I have believed and I have confidence that he is able to guard my deposit consigned to him for that day.

¹⁶ In my first defense no one came together for my defense, but all forsook me; may it not be counted against them. ¹⁷ But the Lord stood beside me and empowered me; in order that the preaching might be fully assured through me and in order that all the Gentiles might hear and I was rescued out of the mouth of the lion. ¹⁸ The Lord will be rescuing me from every evil work and will save me for his heavenly kingdom: in whom is the glory, forevermore. Amen.

²⁵ Hence he is also able to completely save those who come to God through him, always living, that he may petition on their behalf.

²⁵ But he who has peered into the complete law, the law of freedom, and has remained in it, this one, having not become a forgetful hearer, but a doer of works, this one will be fortunate in his doing.

²⁴ Now to the one who is able to guard us from falling and to stand us in the sight of his glory, unblemished in gladness,

¹⁵ For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews and here also I have done nothing that they should put me into the pit.

¹⁶ And when we cried to Jehovah, he heard our voice and sent a messenger and brought us forth out of Egypt. And behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the outermost of your border.

³⁷ And David said, Jehovah who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Go and Jehovah will be with you.

⁹ And David said to Saul, Why do you listen to men's words, saying, Behold, David seeks your hurt? ¹⁰ Behold, this day your eyes have seen how that Jehovah had delivered you today into my hand in the cave. And some commanded me kill you, but I spared you. And I said, I will not put forth my hand against my lord, for he is Jehovah's anointed.
¹¹ Moreover, my father, see, yes, see the skirt of your robe in my hand, for in that I cut off the skirt of your robe and killed you not. Know and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand and I have not sinned against you, though you hunt after my life to take it.

¹⁸ And he said, Why does my lord pursue after his servant? For what have I done? Or what evil is in my hand?

⁷ In my distress I called upon Jehovah. Yes, I called to my God. And he heard my voice out of his temple and my cry came into his ears.

²¹ And Jehovah sent a messenger who cut off all the mighty men of valor and the leaders and captains, in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he came into the house of his god, those who came out from his own guts killed him there with the sword.

¹ O Jehovah my God, I take refuge in you. Save me from all those who pursue me and deliver me, ² lest they tear my soul like a lion, tearing it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
³ O Jehovah my God, if I have done this, if there is unrighteousness in my hands, ⁴ if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me, (yes, I have delivered him without cause who was my adversary),

¹⁹ He also brought me forth into a large place. He delivered me because he delighted in me.
²⁰ Jehovah has rewarded me according to my righteousness. According to the cleanness of my hands he has recompensed me. ²¹ Because I have kept the ways of Jehovah and have not wickedly departed from my God.
²² Because all his ordinances were before me and I put not away his statutes from me. ²³ I was also perfect with him and I kept myself from my iniquity.
²⁴ Therefore Jehovah has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

⁶ I will wash my hands in innocence, so I will encompass your altar, O Jehovah,

¹⁴ But I trusted in you, O Jehovah. I said, You are my God.

⁷ The messenger of Jehovah encamps all around those who fear him and delivers them.

²¹ Do not forsake, O Jehovah. O my God, do not be far from me.

¹¹ Because Jehovah God is a sun and a shield. Jehovah will give favor and glory. He will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly.

¹¹ because he will give his messengers charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. ¹² They will bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
¹³ You will tread upon the lion and adder. The young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

²⁸ You are my God and I will give thanks to you. You are my God, I will exalt you.

¹⁰ Say you* of the righteous, that it is well, for they will eat the fruit of their practices.

⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted and the messenger of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. And he bore them and carried them all the days of old.

²³ Then the king was exceedingly glad and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den and no manner of harm was found upon him, because he had trusted in his God.

⁷ But as for me, I will look to Jehovah. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.

⁴⁶ Now around the ninth hour

¹⁷ Jesus says to her, Do not be touching me; for I have not yet ascended to my Father, but travel to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father and my God and your God.
¹⁸ Mary the Magdalene comes, reporting to the disciples, that she has seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her.

¹¹ And Peter, came to himself, said, Now I truly know, that the Lord has sent forth his messenger and liberated me out of the hand of Herod and all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

¹⁶ But I apply myself in this, having a guilt-free conscience always toward God and men.

⁸ Then Paul, making his defense, said, Neither against the law of the Jews nor against the temple nor against Caesar, have I sinned in anything.
⁹ But Festus, wishing to lay up a favor for himself with the Jews, answered and said to Paul, Are you willing, after having gone to Jerusalem, to be judged there concerning these things in front of me?
¹⁰ But Paul said, I am standing in front of Caesar’s judicial-seat, where it is essential for me to be judged. I did not wrong the Jews, as you also fully well know. ¹¹ For if I indeed am wronging anyone, and have practiced anything worthy of death, I do not renounce to die, but if there is nothing of what these are accusing me; no one is able to grant me to them. I myself am appealing to Caesar.

²³ For there stood beside me this night a messenger of the God, whose I am, to whom I also am giving-divine service to,

¹² For this is our boasting, the testimony of our conscience, that in clarity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we conducted ourselves in the world and even-more toward you.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood beside me and empowered me; in order that the preaching might be fully assured through me and in order that all the Gentiles might hear and I was rescued out of the mouth of the lion.

³³ who through faith conquered kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, sealed the mouths of lions,

¹⁹ And we know in this that we are from the truth and will persuade our hearts before him; ²⁰ because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and he knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have boldness toward God;

⁹ And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which Jehovah had done to Israel, in that he had delivered them out of the hand of the Egyptians.

⁷ And it happened, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly and said, Praise Jehovah this day, who has given to David a wise son over this great people.

²⁰ And they were helped against them and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand and all that were with them, for they cried to God in the battle and he was entreated by them because they put their trust in him.

¹¹ Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because Jehovah loves his people, he has made you king over them. ¹² Huram said moreover, Praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, endued with discretion and understanding, that should build a house for Jehovah and a house for his kingdom.

²⁰ And they rose early in the morning and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa. And as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah and you* inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in Jehovah your* God, so you* will be established. Believe his prophets, so you* will prosper.

⁴⁰ and Jehovah helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from sinners and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.

³ Do not put your* trust in rulers, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. ⁴ His breath goes forth, he returns to his earth. His thoughts perish in that very day.
⁵ He who has the God of Jacob for his help is fortunate, whose hope is in Jehovah his God, ⁶ who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, who keeps truth everlasting,

¹⁰ The name of Jehovah is a strong tower. A righteous man runs into it and is safe.

³ You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

²⁵ He answered and said, Behold, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire and they have no harm. And the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.

²⁷ And the satraps, the deputies and the governors and the king's counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power upon their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed. Neither were their coats changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them.
²⁸ Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who has sent his messenger and delivered his servants who trusted in him and have changed the king's word and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

¹⁴ Then the king, when he heard these words, was very displeased and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him. And he labored till the going down of the sun to rescue him.

¹⁸ Then the king went to his palace and passed the night fasting, nor were instruments of music brought before him. And his sleep fled from him.

²³ Now Jesus said to him, If you are able to believe. All things are possible to the one who believes.

¹⁸ and the judges will make diligent inquiry. And behold, if the witness is a false witness and has testified falsely against his brother, ¹⁹ then you* will do to him, as he had thought to do to his brother. So will you put away the evil from the midst of you.
²⁰ And those who remain will hear and fear and will hereafter commit no more any such evil in the midst of you.

¹⁶ The fathers will not be put to death for the sons, neither will the sons be put to death for the fathers. Every man will be put to death for his own sin.

²⁴ And Joshua and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah and the silver and the mantle and the wedge of gold and his sons and his daughters and his oxen and his donkeys and his sheep and his tent and all that he had and they brought them up to the valley of Achor.
²⁵ And Joshua said, Why have you troubled us? Jehovah will trouble you this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones and they burned them with fire and stoned them with stones.

⁶ but he did not put to death the sons of the murderers, according to what is written in the book of the law of Moses, as Jehovah commanded, saying, The fathers will not be put to death for the sons, nor the sons be put to death for the fathers, but every man will die for his own sin.

¹⁰ So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king's wrath was pacified.

¹⁰ the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Jew's enemy, but they did not lay their hand on the spoil.

²⁵ But when the matter came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he had devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.

⁵ He will reward the evil to my enemies. Destroy them in your truth.

⁸ A righteous man is delivered out of trouble and a wicked man comes instead of him.

¹³ I quieted myself until morning. As a lion, so he breaks all my bones. From day even to night will you make an end of me.

²² Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent and the furnace very hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego.

¹ Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and put it also in writing, saying, ² Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth has Jehovah, the God of heaven, given me and he has charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

¹⁷ Then the king sent an answer to Rehum the chancellor and to Shimshai the scribe and to the rest of their companions who dwell in Samaria and in the rest beyond the River:
Peace and so forth.

⁹ Then the king's scribes were called at that time, in the third month Sivan, on the twenty-third day of it. And it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded to the Jews and to the satraps and the governors and rulers of the provinces which are from India to Ethiopia, a hundred twenty-seven provinces, to every province according to the writing of it and to every people after their language and to the Jews according to their writing and according to their language.

¹ Nebuchadnezzar the king, to all the peoples, nations and languages, who dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you*.

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the holiness of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: grace to you and may peace be multiplied.

² may grace and peace be multiplied to you in the full knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

² mercy to you, and may peace and love be multiplied.

²⁶ For who is there of all flesh, who has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have and lived?

²⁶ And David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, What will be done to the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?

³⁶ Your servant killed* both the lion and the bear and this uncircumcised Philistine will be as one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.

⁸ Moreover I make a decree what you* will do to these elders of the Jews for the building of this house of God: That of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the River, expenses be given with all diligence to these men, that they not be hindered. ⁹ And what they have need of, both young bullocks and rams and lambs, for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, also wheat, salt, wine and oil, according to the word of the priests who are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail ¹⁰ that they may offer sacrifices of sweet aroma to the God of heaven and pray for the life of the king and of his sons.
¹¹ Also I have made a decree, that whoever will alter this word, let a beam be pulled out from his house and let him be lifted up and fastened on it and let his house be made a dunghill for this.
¹² And the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow all kings and peoples who will put forth their hand to alter the same, to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree, let it be done with all diligence.

¹² Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect and so forth. ¹³ I make a decree, that all those of the people of Israel and their priests and the Levites, in my realm, who are minded of their own free will to go to Jerusalem, go with you.

¹¹ Serve Jehovah with fear and rejoice with trembling.

¹⁰ Jehovah sat as King at the Flood. Yes, Jehovah sits as King everlasting.

¹ Jehovah reigns! He is clothed with majesty. Jehovah is clothed with strength; he has girded himself with it.
The world also is established that it cannot be shaken.
² Your throne is established of old. You are from everlasting.

¹ Jehovah reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits above the cherubim, let the earth be moved. ² Jehovah is great in Zion and he is high above all the peoples.
³ Let them praise your great and awesome name. Holy is he.

¹²⁰ My flesh trembles for fear of you and I am afraid of your judgments.

¹² to make known to the sons of men his mighty acts and the glory of the majesty of his kingdom.
¹³ Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and your dominion is throughout all generations.

¹⁰ Jehovah will reign everlasting, your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise Jehovah.

⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from hereafter until everlasting. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

² For all these things my hand has made and all these things came to be, says Jehovah.
But to this man I will look, even to him who is poor and of a crushed spirit and who trembles at my word.

¹⁰ But Jehovah is the true God. He is the living God and an everlasting King. At his wrath the earth trembles and the nations are not able to abide his indignation.

⁴⁴ And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will the sovereignty of it be left to another people, but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it will stand forever.

²⁹ Therefore I make a decree, that every people, nation and language, which speaks anything negligent against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, will be cut in pieces and their houses will be made a dunghill, because there is no other god who is able to deliver after this sort.

³ How great are his signs and how mighty are his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and his dominion is from generation to generation.

³⁴ And at the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven and my understanding returned to me. And I blessed the Most High and I praised and honored he who lives forever. For his dominion is an everlasting dominion and his kingdom from generation to generation.

¹⁴ And there was given him dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.

²⁷ And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, will be given to the people of the holy ones of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and all dominions will serve and obey him.

¹⁰ Yet the number of the sons of Israel will be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered. And it will happen that, in the place where it was said to them, You* are not my people, it will be said to them, The sons of the living God.

⁶ For I, Jehovah, do not change. Therefore you*, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

¹³ And do not bring us into temptation, but rescue us from the evil one, because yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

³³ and he will be reigning over the house of Jacob forever, and there will be no end of his kingdom.

⁵ But I will be showing you whom you should fear. Fear him, who after he has killed you, has authority to cast you into hell. Yes, I say to you, Fear him.

²⁵ nor is he assisted by men’s hands, as if needy of anything, he is giving to all, life and breath in all things.

²⁶ And it will be, in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people; they will be called sons of the living God there.’

⁹ For they themselves are reporting concerning us, what sort of entrance we had toward you, and how you turned from idols to God, to serve a living and true God,

¹⁷ In which God, planning to show even-more to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable will of his plan, intermediated this with an oath; ¹⁸ in order that through two unchangeable matters, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge, to take-hold of the hope that lays before us.

²⁹ for our God is also a consuming fire.

¹⁷ Every good act of giving, and every complete gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor a shadow of turning.

¹⁰ the twenty-four elders will fall down in his sight who is sitting upon the throne and will be worshiping the one who lives forevermore and will put their crowns in the sight of the throne, saying,

¹⁴ And the four living creatures are saying the amen; and the elders fell down and worshiped him.

¹⁵ And the seventh messenger sounded, and there became loud voices in heaven saying, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ and he will be reigning forevermore.

¹⁵ He delivers the afflicted by their affliction and opens their ear in oppression.

⁴⁸ He rescues me from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.

⁵⁰ He gives great deliverance to his king and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his seed, until everlasting.

⁷ You are my hiding-place. You will preserve me from trouble. You will encompass me around with songs of deliverance. Selah.

¹⁷ Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, my only one from the lions.

¹⁰ O you* who love Jehovah, hate evil.
He preserves the souls of his holy ones. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

¹⁹ great in counsel and mighty in work, whose eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his practices, ²⁰ who set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even to this day, both in Israel and among other men and made you a name, as at this day,

² It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked toward me. ³ How great are his signs and how mighty are his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and his dominion is from generation to generation.

¹⁷ Now these signs will be following those who have believed: they will be casting out demons in my name; they will be speaking in new languages; ¹⁸ they will be lifting up serpents and even if they drink anything deadly, it may never harm them; they will lay hands upon the sick and they will be well.

⁷⁴ having been fearlessly rescued out of the hand of our enemies, to give-divine service to him ⁷⁵ in holiness and righteousness all the days of our life in his sight.

³⁰ in that you stretched out your hand for healing, and signs and wonders to happen through the name of your holy young-servant Jesus.

⁸ For brethren, we do not wish you to be ignorant in regard to our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were burdened down surpassingly, beyond our power, so-that we despaired even to be living. ⁹ But, we ourselves have had the verdict of death in ourselves, in order that we should not have confidence in ourselves, but in God, who is raising up the dead; ¹⁰ who rescued us out of so-great a death and is rescuing us; in whom we have hoped that he will also still be rescuing us.

⁴ God was testifying together with them, both by signs and by wonders and by various powers and by distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will.

²² Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and put it also in writing, saying,

²⁸ who says of Cyrus, He is my shepherd and will perform all my pleasure, even saying of Jerusalem, She will be built and of the temple, Your foundation will be laid.

²¹ And Daniel continued even to the first year of king Cyrus.

¹ In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar and the thing was true, even a great warfare. And he understood the thing and had understanding of the vision.
