⁸ But the king took Armoni and Mephibosheth, the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah whom she bore to Saul, and the five sons of Merab the daughter of Saul whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite.
⁹ And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites. And they hanged them in the mountain before Jehovah and they fell all seven together. And they were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, at the beginning of barley harvest.

⁴¹ And Elijah said to Ahab, get up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a roar of heavy rain. ⁴² So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel and he bowed himself down upon the earth and put his face between his knees.

⁴⁵ And it happened in a little while, that the heavens grew black with clouds and wind and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode and went to Jezreel.

²⁷ And it happened, when Ahab heard those words, that he tore his clothes and put sackcloth upon his flesh and fasted and lay in sackcloth and went softly.

²⁴ Neither do they say in their heart, Let us now fear Jehovah our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season, who preserves to us the appointed weeks of the harvest. ²⁵ Your* iniquities have turned away these things and your* sins have withheld good from you*.

²² Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Are not you he, O Jehovah our God? Therefore we will wait for you, for you have made all these things.

⁴ You will fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your hordes and the peoples who are with you. I will give you to the ravenous birds of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.

³ And let us know, let us follow on to know Jehovah. His going forth is sure as the morning and he will come to us as the rain, as the latter rain that waters the earth.

¹⁸ How do the beasts groan! The herds of cattle are perplexed because they have no pasture, yes, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.

²³ Be glad then, you* sons of Zion and rejoice in Jehovah your* God, for he gives you* the former rain in just measure and he causes the rain to come down for you*, the former rain and the latter rain, in the first month.

¹ Ask you* of Jehovah rain in the time of the latter rain, even of Jehovah who makes lightnings and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone grass in the field.
