¹ And working together with him, we are also encouraging you to not accept the grace of God in vain; ² (for he says, ‘I heard you at an acceptable time and I helped you in a day of salvation;' behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation), ³ giving no one a stumbling block in anything, in order that the service from us might not be blamed. ⁴ But we are commending ourselves in everything, as servants of God: in much endurance, in afflictions, in calamities, in distresses, ⁵ in lashes, in prisons, in unrest, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fasts; ⁶ in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in non-pretended love, ⁷ in the word of truth, in the power of God; through the weapons of righteousness from the right hand and from the left hand, ⁸ through glory and dishonor, through defamation and good-repute; as misleaders and yet true; ⁹ as being unrecognized and yet being fully known; as dying and behold, we live; as being disciplined and yet not being slain; ¹⁰ as sorrowful, yet even habitually rejoicing; as poor, yet enriching many; as having nothing and yet having all things.
¹¹ O Corinthians, our mouth has opened to you, our heart has been widened. ¹² You are not distressed by us, but you are distressed by your own affections, ¹³ but the same as recompense, (I speak to you as to my children). You also, be widened in your heart s.
¹⁴ Do not become unequally yoked with unbelieving ones; for what partnership has righteousness and lawlessness? And what fellowship has light with darkness? ¹⁵ And what agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with unbelieving ones? ¹⁶ And what alliance has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God; just-as God said, ‘I will be dwelling among them and will be walking among them, and I will be their God and they will be a people to me.’ ¹⁷ Hence ‘Come out from the midst of them and be separate,’says the Lord, ‘And touch no unclean thing, and I will accept you\super\'b0 ¹⁸ and will be a Father to you and you will be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.’

⁸ How can you* say, We are wise and the law of Jehovah is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has worked falsely.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How-often I willed to have gathered together your children in the manner a bird gathers together her brood under her wings, and you did not will it!

³ Therefore, they indeed stayed a considerable time there, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was testifying to the word of his favor, giving signs and wonders to happen through their hands.

¹ Therefore brethren, I am encouraging you through the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your logical divine service.

⁹ For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s cultivation, God’s building.

¹⁸ But all things are from God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ and gave the service of reconciliation to us; ¹⁹ as that, God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ not counting to them their trespasses and having placed the word of reconciliation in us. ²⁰ Therefore, we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ; as though God is encouraging you through us. We are beseeching you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

¹ Now brethren, we are making known to you the grace of God which has been given in the congregations of Macedonia; ² because the abundance of their joy in much trial of affliction and according to the depth of their poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.

¹ Now I, Paul, myself, encourage you through the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who when face to face am indeed humble among you, but being absent am courageous toward you.

²¹ I am not nullifying the grace of God; for if righteousness is through the law, consequently, Christ died undeservedly.

⁴ You suffered vainly so-many things? If actually it was even vainly.

¹¹ I fear for you, lest somehow I have vainly labored toward you.
¹² Brethren, I beseech of you, become like I am, because I have also become like you are. You wronged me in nothing;

¹¹ For the grace of God has appeared, which is salvation to all men,

¹⁵ exercising the oversight of yourselves lest there is anyone who comes-short, away from the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing upward, might trouble you, and many may be defiled through this;

²⁵ Beware that you do not renounce the one who speaks. For if those men did not flee when they renounced the one who divinely-warned them upon the earth, much more we may not flee who are turning away from him, who is from the heavens;

¹⁰ just-as each has received a gift, serving it for yourselves, as good stewards of the various favor s of God.

⁸ Jehovah says thus, In an acceptable time I have heard you and in a day of salvation I have helped you. And I will preserve you and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages,

² to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

⁸ Now when I passed by you and looked upon you, behold, your time was the time of love. And I spread my skirt over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore to you and entered into a covenant with you, says the lord Jehovah and you became mine.

¹⁹ to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.’

⁴² saying, If you had known in this day, even you, for-sure, the things which are for your peace! But now they were hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ Because the days will be coming upon you, and your enemies will put a military-barrier around you and will surround you, and will crowd you on every-side, ⁴⁴ and will be leveling you to the bedrock, and your children among you, and they will not be leaving in you one stone upon another stone, because you did not know the time of your visitation.

⁷ Hence, as the Holy Spirit says, ‘Today if you hear his voice,

¹³ But encourage one another every day, until what is called today; in order that not anyone of you may be hardened by the deception of sin.

⁷ he again determines a certain day as today, saying in David, after so-much time, (just-as it has been said beforehand), ‘Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.’

²⁷ But in order that we might not offend them, you travel to the sea and cast a fishhook, and lift out the fish that ascends first, and when you have opened its mouth, you will find a four-denarii coin. Take that, and give it to them in exchange-for you and me.

⁶ But whoever offends one of these little ones who believes in me, it is more advantageous for him that a millstone, the ones rotated by a donkey, should be hung at his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea.

¹³ Therefore we should no longer judge one another, but rather judge this: you are not to place a stumbling block, or offense, in the way of the brother.

⁹ But beware, lest this liberty of yours might become a stumbling block to the weak. ¹⁰ For if anyone sees you, (the one who has knowledge), reclining at a table in an idol’s sanctuary, will not his conscience, being weak, be built up to be eating the idol-sacrifices? ¹¹ And the weak brother will be perishing on the basis of your knowledge, but Christ died because of him. ¹² Now thus, by sinning directly at the brethren and beating their weak conscience, you are sinning directly at Christ. ¹³ Hence, if food is offending my brother, I should never eat idol’s meat forever, in order that I may not offend my brother.

¹² If others are partaking of this authority over you, do we not more? But we did not use this authority, but we are forbearing all things, in order that we should not give any hindrance to the good-news of the Christ.

²² I became like the weak to the weak, in order that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all people, in order that I may certainly save some.

²³ All things are legal for me, but not all things are advantageous. All things are legal for me, but not all things build up. ²⁴ Let no one seek his own, but each one seek the good of the other.

³² Do not become a stumbling block, either to Jews or to Greeks, or to the congregation of God; ³³ just-as I am also pleasing all people in all things, not seeking what is advantageous for me, but what is advantageous for many, in order that they may be saved.

¹² For this is our boasting, the testimony of our conscience, that in clarity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we conducted ourselves in the world and even-more toward you.

²⁰ We are avoiding this thing, lest anyone might blame us in the matter of this lavish donation which is served by us;

⁶ But you* will be named the priests of Jehovah. Men will call you* the ministers of our God. You* will eat the wealth of the nations and in their glory you* will boast yourselves.

⁹ The meal offering and the drink offering are cut off from the house of Jehovah. The priests, Jehovah's ministers, mourn.

¹⁷ Let the priests, the ministers of Jehovah, weep between the porch and the altar and let them say, Spare your people, O Jehovah and do not give your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?

¹⁹ You^\'b0 will procure your souls in your endurance.

²² Men, Israelites! Hear these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man from God, having been shown to you by miracles and wonders and signs which God did through him in your midst, just-as you yourselves also know;

¹⁶ for I will be showing him how-much it is essential for him to suffer on behalf of my name.

²³ except that the Holy Spirit is thoroughly testifying to me in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions are remaining for me. ²⁴ But I make account of nothing, nor am I holding my life as precious to myself, as I desire to complete my course with joy, and the service which I received from the Lord Jesus, to thoroughly testify the good-news of the favor of God.

³⁴ You yourselves know that these hands attended to my needs, and to those being with me.

³ But not only in this, but we are also boasting in our afflictions, knowing that affliction is working endurance; ⁴ and endurance, approved character, and an approved character, hope;

⁸ But God is establishing his own love toward us, in that when we were still sinners, Christ died on our behalf.

³⁵ Who will be separating us away from the love of Christ? Shall affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? ³⁶ Just-as it has been written, ‘Because of you we are slain the whole day. We were counted as sheep of the slaughter.’

¹⁸ For the one who is serving Christ in these things is well pleasing to God and approved by men.

¹⁰ Greet Apelles, the approved, in Christ. Greet those who are from the household of Aristobulus.

⁵ Therefore, who is Paul? And who is Apollos? But servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave to each.

¹ So let a man count us as attendants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

¹¹ We are both hungry and thirsty, till the current hour, and are naked and are battered and are homeless; ¹² and we are laboring, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we are speaking well of them; being persecuted, we are tolerating it;

¹¹ If we sowed spiritual things to you, is it a big thing if we will be reaping your fleshly things?

¹⁷ For we are not as the rest who are peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, in God’s sight, we speak in Christ.

⁶ who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant; not from the writing, but from the Spirit; for the writing kills, but the Spirit gives-life.

² But we ourselves have scoffed at the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in God’s sight.

⁸ We are being pressed in everything, but not distressed; being perplexed, but not despairing;

¹⁷ For the momentary light weight of our affliction, is working for us a surpassingly-better everlasting weight of glory;

¹¹ For behold how much diligence this same thing, (your being sorrowful according to the will of God), has worked in you : but what a defense, but what indignation, but what fear, but what longing, but what zeal, but what vengeance! In everything you commended yourselves to be pure in the matter.

⁹ And being present with you and having come-short, I did not encumber anyone; for the brethren who came from Macedonia, replenished my lack of things and I kept and will be keeping myself not burdensome to you in everything.

²³ Are they servants of Christ? (I speak, as if having insanity) I am beyond them : in labors even-more, in lashes surpassingly, in prisons even-more, in deaths often.

²⁷ in labor and hardship, often in sleeplessness, in famine and thirst, often in fasts, in cold and nakedness.

¹⁰ Hence I am delighting in weaknesses, in insults, in calamities, in persecutions, in distresses, on behalf of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am mighty.

¹² Indeed the signs of an apostle were worked among you in all endurance, in signs and wonders and miracles.

¹¹ Not that I am speaking according to my lack of things; for I have learned what things I am to be content. ¹² I know how to be also humbled; I also know how to also abound. I have been initiated in everything, and in all things, both to be fed and to be hungry, both to abound and to lack.

¹¹ being empowered in all power, according to the dominion of his glory, for all endurance and patience with joy,

²⁴ Now I am rejoicing in my sufferings on your behalf and I am filling up in my flesh, the things lacking of the afflictions of the Christ on behalf of his body, which is the congregation of believers;

³ For our encouragement is not from deceit, nor from uncleanness, nor in treachery. ⁴ But just-as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the good-news, so we are speaking; not as pleasing men, but it is God who tests our hearts. ⁵ For just-as you know, (God being witness), we neither previously came in words of flattery, nor in a pretext of greed, ⁶ nor seeking glory from men, neither from you nor from others, while being able to be a burden to you as apostles of Christ. ⁷ But we became mild in your midst, as a nurse may cherish her own children. ⁸ So having kindly-feelings of you, we were delighted to have given to you not only the good-news of God, but also our own souls, because you have become beloved to us.
⁹ For brethren, you remember our labor and hardship. For we were working night and day, that we might not burden any of you while we preached to you the good-news of God. ¹⁰ You and God are witnesses, as we became holy and righteous and blameless toward you who believe. ¹¹ Just-as you know, as we became with each one of you, like a father with his own children, encouraging you and consoling you\super\'b0

² And we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant and our fellow worker in the good-news of the Christ, that he might establish you and to encourage you concerning your faith; ³ that no one be shook up in these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are destined for this thing.

⁷ Brethren, because of this, we were comforted on the basis of you in all our affliction and calamity through your faith,

¹⁴ But brethren, we encourage you : admonish the disorderly, console the fainthearted, hold up the weak, have patience toward all.

¹⁵ but she will be saved through her childbearing, if they remain in faith and love and holiness with self-discipline.

⁶ If you suggest these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of the faith and of the good teaching in which you have followed closely.

¹¹ But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue: righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, meekness.

⁸ Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor me, his prisoner, but suffer-hardship together with the good-news according to the power of God,

²⁴ But it is essential for the Lord’s bondservant to not quarrel, but to be mild toward all, skilled in teaching, tolerating it when being mistreated,

¹⁰ But you have followed closely my teaching, my lead, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance, ¹¹ my persecutions and my sufferings, such-as happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, and in Lystra. I underwent many persecutions such-as these, and the Lord rescued me out of all of them. \ulnone\nosupersub ¹² But even all who wish to live devoutly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

⁵ But you, be sober in all things, suffer evil treatment, do the work of an evangelist, fully assure your service.

¹ Therefore, since we also have so-great a cloud of witnesses encompassing us, let us run through endurance the contest laying before us, placing away from ourselves every interference, and the easily restricting sin.

⁷ Therefore brethren, have patience until the presence of the Lord. Behold, the farmer is waiting for the precious fruit of the earth, having patience over it, until it should receive the morning and evening rainfall. ⁸ You also, have patience; establish your hearts, because the presence of the Lord has drawn near. ⁹ Brethren, do not groan against one another, in order that you may not be judged. Behold, the judge stands before the doors.
¹⁰ My brethren, take as an example of suffering evil treatment and of patience the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

⁹ I John, your brother and partner in the affliction and the kingdom and the endurance which are in Christ Jesus, happened to be on the island called Patmos, because of the word of God and because of the testimony of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Because you kept the word of my endurance, I also will be keeping you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole inhabited-earth, to test those who are dwelling upon the earth.

³ He may give him forty stripes. He will not exceed, lest, if he should exceed and beat him above these with many stripes, then your brother should seem debased to you.

²⁷ and say, Thus says the king, Put this fellow in the prison and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction until I come in peace.

¹⁰ Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in the prison-house. For he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.

⁵ But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed.

¹ Moreover the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

¹⁵ And the rulers were angry with Jeremiah and killed* him and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe, for they had made that the prison.
¹⁶ When Jeremiah came into the house in the pit and into the cells and Jeremiah had remained there many days,

⁶ Then they took Jeremiah and cast him into the pit of Malchijah the king's son, that was in the court of the guard. And they let Jeremiah down with cords. And in the pit there was no water, but mud and Jeremiah sank in the mud.

¹⁷ Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the word at my mouth and give them warning from me.

¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, The sons of the bridal-party are not able to mourn, inasmuch as the bridegroom is with them, are they? But the days will come, whenever the bridegroom is taken away from them and then they will be fasting.

³ For Herod had took-hold of John, and bound him, and placed him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.

¹⁰ And he sent and beheaded John in the prison.

³⁴ It is like a man, going-abroad, having left his house and given authority to his bondservants, and his work to each one, and he commanded the doorkeeper in order that he should watch. ³⁵ Therefore watch; for you do not know when the lord of the house is coming, whether at evening or midnight or rooster’s crowing or in the morning; ³⁶ lest having come suddenly, he might find you sleeping. ³⁷ Now what I say to you, I say to all, Watch!

¹⁸ and they put their hands upon the apostles and placed them in the public jail.

⁴ He also arrested him, and placed him in prison and gave him to four companies of four soldiers to guard him; planning to lead him out to the people after the Passover. ⁵ Therefore indeed, Peter was being kept in the prison, but intense prayer was happening by the congregation to God on his behalf.

³ Then having fasted and prayed and having laid their hands on them, they dismissed them.

¹⁹ But Jews came upon us there from Antioch and Iconium and having persuaded the crowds, they stoned Paul, and were dragging him outside the city, having supposed him to have died.

²³ Now having assigned elders to them in every congregation, and when they had prayed with fastings, they consigned them to the Lord, in whom they had believed.

²³ And having laid many lashes on them, they cast them into prison, after having commanded the jailor to securely guard them. ²⁴ Having received such a command, he cast them into the inner prison and secured their feet in the wood stocks.

⁵ But the disobedient Jews took for themselves some evil men from among the market-loafers, and having amassed a crowd, the city was in an uproar, and standing against the house of Jason, they were seeking to lead them into the public court.

¹² Now Gallio being proconsul of Achaia, the Jews stood up united against Paul and led him in front of the judicial-seat, ¹³ saying, This one is persuading men to worship God contrary to the law. ¹⁴ But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, Therefore if it was indeed some wrongdoing or evil villainy, O you Jews, I might tolerate you according to reason. ¹⁵ But if there are debates concerning words and names and law which is according to you, you will see to it yourselves; for I am not willing to be a judge of these things. ¹⁶ And he drove them away from the judicial-seat. ¹⁷ Now all the Greeks grabbed Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and were beating him before the judicial-seat. And Gallio was not about to judge anything.

²³ Now it happened at that time there was not just a small disturbance concerning the Way. ²⁴ For a certain man, Demetrius by name, (a silversmith making miniature silver temples of Artemis), was providing not just a small business to the craftsmen; ²⁵ whom he accumulated together the other workers of such things and said, Men, you know our prosperity is from this business. ²⁶ And you view and hear, that not only from Ephesus, but almost all of Asia, this Paul has persuaded and seduced a considerable crowd, saying that they are not gods, those born through man’s hands. ²⁷ But not only is this part for us in peril and it is to go into disrepute but also the temple of the great goddess Artemis is to be counted as nothing and her majesty is about to be demolished, what the whole of Asia and inhabited-earth is worshiping.
²⁸ Now having heard this, and having become full of fury, they were crying out, saying, Great is Artemis of Ephesus. ²⁹ And the whole city was filled with confusion and they rushed united into the theater, having seized Paul’s fellow traveling-associates, Gaius and Aristarchus, who were Macedonians. ³⁰ Now Paul was planning to enter into the public area, but the disciples were not permitting him. ³¹ But some also of those from Asia, being friends to him, and having sent for him, they were pleading with him not to give himself to the theater crowd. ³² Therefore some were crying something and others another thing; for the assembly was confused, and most did not know why they had come together. ³³ But they pushed Alexander forward out of the crowd with the Jews, casting him forward. Now Alexander, having beckoned with the hand, was wishing to make a defense to the public. ³⁴ But when they recognized that he was a Jew, one voice became out of them all for approximately two hours, crying, Great is Artemis of the Ephesians.

³¹ Hence watch, remembering that for three years I ceased not from admonishing each one of you^\'b0 every day with tears.

²⁷ Now as the seven days were about to be completed, the Jews from Asia, when they saw him in the temple, were inciting all the crowd and put hands upon him, ²⁸ crying out, Men, Israelites, help! This one is the man who is teaching all people everywhere, against the Jewish people and the law and this place, and even more, he led Greeks into the temple and has desecrated this holy place. ²⁹ For they were seeing Trophimus the Ephesian together with him among the city, whom they were supposing that Paul had led into the temple.
³⁰ Now the whole city was moved and there happened to be a running of the people together, and grabbing Paul, they were dragging him outside the temple and immediately the doors were locked.
³¹ But while seeking to kill him, information came up to the commander of the cohort, that the whole Jerusalem has been incited to riot. ³² Who promptly, having taken soldiers and centurions, ran down upon them. And those who saw the commander and the soldiers, ceased beating Paul. ³³ Now the commander drew near and grabbed him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains, and inquired who he might be, and what he is doing. ³⁴ But some in the crowd were crying one thing, some another thing, and when he was not able to know the certainty of who he was because of the uproar, he commanded him to be led into the encampment. ³⁵ But when he came upon the steps, it befell him to be bore by the soldiers because of the violence of the crowd;

²³ Now when they were crying out and tossing off their garments and casting dust into the air, ²⁴ the commander commanded him to be led into the encampment, saying, He is to be interrogated by scourges, in order that he might fully know because of what crime they were shouting out against him so.

¹⁰ Now when much dissension happened, the commander, being scared, lest Paul might be torn to shreds by them, commanded the army to go down and seize him from the midst of them, and lead him back into the encampment.

³⁵ He was saying, I will hear you fully whenever your accusers have also come. And he commanded him to be guarded in Herod’s palace.

²⁷ But when two years were fulfilled, Felix received a successor, Porcius Festus, and wishing to lay up favors for himself with the Jews, Felix left Paul bound.

¹⁰ I also did this in Jerusalem, and I locked up many of the holy-ones in prisons, having received authority from the high-priests, and when they were assassinated, I brought my voting-pebble against them.

²⁹ But Paul said, I would pray to God, that both in a few words or in many words, not only you, but also all who hear me today, are to become such: what sort of person I am, except-for these bonds.

¹⁶ Now when we came to Rome, the centurion gave the prisoners to the camp-commander, but Paul was permitted to abide by himself together with the soldier guarding him.
¹⁷ Now after three days Paul happened to call together those who are the foremost of the Jews and when they came together, he said to them, Brethren, I have done nothing adverse to the Jewish people or the customs of our forefathers. I, a prisoner from Jerusalem, was given up into the hands of the Romans.

³⁰ Now Paul remained two whole years in his own rented-house and was accepting all who traveled to him,

¹¹ We are both hungry and thirsty, till the current hour, and are naked and are battered and are homeless;

⁵ Do not deprive one another, except from agreement for some time, in order that you may occupy yourselves to fasting and to prayer, and you may come to the same again, in order that the Adversary may not tempt you because of your shortage of self-control.

¹⁰ But I am what I am by the grace of God and his grace toward me has not become empty, but I labored even-more than they all did; but not I, but the grace of God which was together with me.

⁸ For brethren, we do not wish you to be ignorant in regard to our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were burdened down surpassingly, beyond our power, so-that we despaired even to be living. ⁹ But, we ourselves have had the verdict of death in ourselves, in order that we should not have confidence in ourselves, but in God, who is raising up the dead; ¹⁰ who rescued us out of so-great a death and is rescuing us; in whom we have hoped that he will also still be rescuing us.

²³ Are they servants of Christ? (I speak, as if having insanity) I am beyond them : in labors even-more, in lashes surpassingly, in prisons even-more, in deaths often. ²⁴ Five-times, I received forty lashes beside one from the Jews. ²⁵ I was lashed with rods three-times. I was stoned once. I was shipwrecked three-times. I have spent a night and a day in the depth of the sea;

¹ Because of this, I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles,

¹³ so-that my bonds became apparent in Christ in the whole palace guard and to all the rest;

⁹ For brethren, you remember our labor and hardship. For we were working night and day, that we might not burden any of you while we preached to you the good-news of God.

¹⁰ For we are also laboring and are reproached toward this end, because we have hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of the believing ones.

⁹ in which I am suffering evil treatment, even as far as bonds, like a criminal, but the word of God has not been bound.

³⁶ and others received a trial from mocking and scourges, but still more, from bonds and prison:

¹⁷ Obey and yield yourselves to your leaders; for they are watching out on behalf of your souls, as those who will be giving account; in order that they may do this thing with joy and not groaning; for this would be detrimental to you.

²³ Do you know that our brother Timothy has been released? With whom, I will be seeing you if he comes shortly.

¹⁰ Let no one fear the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some from you into prison, in order that you may be tested and you will have affliction ten days. Become faithful to death and I will be giving you the crown of life.

¹⁵ And she said to him, How can you say, I love you, when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times and have not told me with what your great strength lies.

³¹ And they come to you as the people come and they sit before you as my people. And they hear your words, but do not do them. For with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.

⁹ Let the love be non-pretended, abhorring evil things, joining yourselves to what is the good thing.

¹⁹ in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God. So-then, I have fulfilled the good-news of the Christ from Jerusalem and in a circle, as far as Illyricum.

¹ And brethren, when I came to you proclaiming the testimony of God to you, I did not come according to superiority of speech or of wisdom. ² For I decided not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ and this one having been crucified.

⁴ And my speech and my preaching was not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

¹⁶ For who has known the mind of the Lord, who will be lecturing him? But we have the mind of Christ.

⁴ Love has patience. It is kind. Love is not jealous. Love does not brag. It is not arrogant.

⁴ For I wrote to you out of much affliction and dismay of heart through many tears; not in order that you should be made sorrowful, but that you may know the love that I have even-more toward you.

³ being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, being served by us, not having been inscribed with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets, in fleshly hearts.

⁶ Because it is God, who said, ‘Illumination shine’out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

² Make room for us in your^\'b0 hearts: we wronged no one, we corrupted no one, we took-advantage of no one.

⁴ For if he who indeed comes, is preaching a another Jesus, whom we did not preach or if you accept a different spirit, which you did not receive or a different good-news, which you did not accept, you were tolerating him well. \ulnone\nosupersub

⁶ But even if I am unskilled in my speech, but I am not in knowledge! But in everything, we have made this manifest to you in all things.

¹¹ Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do.

¹⁵ Now I will gladly spend and be utterly spent on behalf of your souls; even if, when loving you even-more, means I am loved even-less.

² I only wish to learn this thing from you. Did you receive the Spirit from the works of the law or from the report of faith?

⁵ Therefore, is the one supplying the Spirit to you, and working miracles among you, are they from the works of the law or from the report of faith?

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,

⁴ to which, you are able, by reading it, to perceive my understanding in the mystery of the Christ;

² with all humility and meekness, with patience tolerating one another in love.

³² and become kind to one another, affectionate, forgiving others in yourselves, just-as God also forgave us in Christ.

⁹ Because of this, we also do not cease praying and asking on your behalf from the day we heard it, in order that you may be filled with the full knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and intelligence, ¹⁰ for you to walk worthy of the Lord for pleasing him in everything, bearing-fruit in every good work and growing into the full knowledge of God; ¹¹ being empowered in all power, according to the dominion of his glory, for all endurance and patience with joy,

²⁷ To whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, who is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

³ in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

¹² Therefore as chosen ones of God, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with a heart of mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, patience,

⁵ You know because our good-news did not happened to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much full assurance; just-as you know what manner of men we became among you, because of you. ⁶ And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, having accepted the word in much affliction with joy of the Holy Spirit;

¹⁰ You and God are witnesses, as we became holy and righteous and blameless toward you who believe.

¹² Let no one despise your youth, but become an example of the believing ones : in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

² elder women like mothers; younger women like sisters, in all purity.

¹⁰ But you have followed closely my teaching, my lead, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance,

² Preach the word. Stand-ready opportunely and inopportunely. Reprove, rebuke and encourage in all patience and teaching.

⁷ providing yourself as an example of good works concerning all things; in the teaching have integrity, honesty, incorruption,

¹² To whom it was revealed, that they were serving these things not to themselves, but to you; which things now have been reported to you through those who proclaimed the good-news to you in the Holy Spirit, when he was sent forth from heaven; into which things messengers desire to peer into.

²² Having purified your souls in the obedience to the truth through the Spirit toward non-pretended brotherly-love, intensely love^*\'b0 one another from a clean heart;

¹⁸ My little-children, do not love in word, nor with the tongue, but in work and in truth.

²² And the sons of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

⁴³ And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, because I have hoped in your ordinances.

¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand are riches and honor.

⁵ And righteousness will be the belt of his waist and faithfulness the belt of his loins.

¹⁷ And he put on righteousness as a breastplate and a helmet of salvation upon his head. And he put on garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal as a mantle.

²⁰ Now those apostles went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working together with them, and confirming the word through the signs that followed. Amen.

²¹ And the hand of the Lord was with them and a large number who believed turned to the Lord.

¹² The night has progressed, and the day has drawn near. Therefore, we should place away from ourselves the works of darkness, and should clothe ourselves with the weapons of light. ¹³ We should walk decently, like in the day; not in revelings and drunkenness, not in sleeping-around and in unbridled-lusts, not in strife and in jealousy.

²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

⁴ And my speech and my preaching was not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power, ⁵ in order that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but be in the power of God.

¹⁸ But as God is faithful, our word toward you did not become yes and no. ¹⁹ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you through us, that is, through me and Silvanus and Timothy, did not become yes and no, but in him it has become yes. ²⁰ For as many things as are the promises of God, in him is the yes and in him is the amen, for glory to God through us.

¹⁴ Because if I have boasted in anything on your behalf to him, I was not ashamed, but as we spoke all things to you in truth, so also, our boasting in Titus became truth.

⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but are mighty in God, toward the demolition of strongholds, ⁵ demolishing evil reasonings and every exalted thing which is lifting itself up against the knowledge of God and capturing every device of the Adversary to the obedience of the Christ;

⁴ For even if he was crucified out of weakness, but yet he is living out of the power of God. For we are also weak in him, but yet we will be living together with him out of the power of God toward you.

¹³ in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the good-news of your salvation, in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

¹⁹ and what is the surpassing greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of the dominion of his strength, ²⁰ which he worked in the Christ, having raised him up from the dead and seated him by his right hand in the heavenly places,

²⁰ Now to the one who is able to do, exceptionally beyond all things, what we are asking or are perceiving, according to the power which is working in us,

²¹ if you actually heard him and were taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus;

¹¹ Clothe yourselves with the full-armor of God, that you may be able to stand up to the schemes of the devil. ¹² Because the wrestling in us is not with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world dominions of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual ones of wickedness in the heavenly places. \ulnone\nosupersub ¹³ Because of this, take up the full-armor of God, in order that you may be able to stand against the devil in the evil day, and to stand straight, having worked against all things. ¹⁴ Therefore stand, having girded your loins in truth and having clothed yourselves with the breastplate of righteousness, ¹⁵ and having tied the feet with the readiness of the good-news of peace. ¹⁶ Upon all these things, when you have taken up the shield of the faith, in which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one; \ulnone\nosupersub ¹⁷ also able to accept the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, ¹⁸ through all prayer and supplication praying in all seasons in the Spirit and watching in this same thing in all perseverance and supplication concerning all the holy-ones. ¹⁹ And pray on my behalf, in order that the word may be given to me, in opening my mouth to make known the mystery of the good-news in boldness, ²⁰ on behalf of which, I am an ambassador in a chain; in order that I should speak boldly in it, as it is essential for me to speak.

⁵ because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard beforehand in the word of the truth of the good-news.

⁸ But we, being of the day, should be sober; having clothed yourselves with the breastplate of faith and love, and a helmet-- the hope of salvation.

¹⁵ Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, an unashamed worker, cutting-straight the word of truth.

⁷ I have fought the good fight. I have completed the course. I have kept the faith.

⁴ God was testifying together with them, both by signs and by wonders and by various powers and by distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will.

¹⁸ Having willed it, he gave-birth to us with the word of truth, that we might be a certain first-fruit of his created things.

¹¹ You are fortunate whenever they reproach and persecute you and say every evil word against you–lying, because of me. ¹² Rejoice and be glad, because your reward is much in the heavens; for thus, they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he should become like his teacher and the bondservant like his lord. If they have called the householder Beelzebub, how much more the kinfolk!

¹⁶ And they send their disciples to him, with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God in truth, and do not care concerning anyone’s appearance; for you do not look at the countenance of men.

⁶³ saying, Lord, we remember what that misleader said, while still living, I will arise after three days.

¹⁴ Now when they came, they say to him, Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care concerning one’s appearance. You do not look at the countenance of men, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it legal to give tribute to Caesar or not?

¹² And there was much murmuring among the crowds concerning him. Some were saying, He is a good man; others said, Not so, but he misleads the crowd.

¹⁷ If anyone is willing to practice his will, he will know concerning the teaching, of what sort it is, whether from God or I speak from myself. ¹⁸ He who speaks from himself is seeking his own glory, but he who is seeking the glory from the one who sent him, this one is true and no unrighteousness is in him.

²¹ But having additionally threatened them, they released them, finding nothing as to how they will punish them, because of the people, because all were glorifying God for what has happened.

¹³ But none of the rest were daring to join himself to them, but the people were extolling them;

⁴⁰ Now they were persuaded by him, and having called the apostles to them, they whipped them, and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them. ⁴¹ Therefore indeed, they were traveling from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were deemed worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the name of Jesus.

³ Therefore brethren, elect out of you seven men well testified of, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we might designate over this need.

²² Now they said, Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and fearing God, being well testified of by the whole nation of the Jews, was divinely-warned by a holy messenger to send for you to come to his house and to hear words from you.

¹¹ Now when the crowd saw what Paul did, they lifted up their voice, saying in Lycaonian, The gods, who are similar to men, have come down to us. ¹² And indeed, they were calling Barnabas, Zeus; but Paul, Hermes, since he was the leader of the speech. ¹³ Now the priest of Zeus, whose temple was before their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates and were wishing to sacrifice them together with the crowds.
¹⁴ But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard it, they ripped their garments and dashed into the crowd, crying out ¹⁵ and saying, Men! Why are you doing these things? We are also human, of like-feelings with you and are proclaiming the good-news to you : to turn away from these futile things to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things in them; ¹⁶ who permitted all the nations in the generations which have gone-by, to conduct-themselves in their own ways. ¹⁷ Although he did not leave himself unwitnessed, by doing good, giving rainfalls and fruitful seasons to you from heaven, filling our hearts with nourishment and joy. ¹⁸ And saying these things, they made the crowds cease from sacrificing to us with difficulty.
¹⁹ But Jews came upon us there from Antioch and Iconium and having persuaded the crowds, they stoned Paul, and were dragging him outside the city, having supposed him to have died. ²⁰ But the disciples surrounded him, having rose up, he entered into the city, and went forth on the next-day together with Barnabas to Derbe.

²⁰ Having led them to the magistrates, they said, These men, being Jews, are disturbing our city, ²¹ and are proclaiming customs which it is not legal for us to accept, or to do, being Romans. ²² And the crowd stood up together against them, and the magistrates, having ripped off their garments, were commanding the sergeants to lash them with rods.

³⁹ And when they came, they pleaded with them, and having led them outside, they asked them to go out away from the city.

¹² Now a certain one named Ananias, a devout man according to the law, being testified of by all the Jews dwelling there,

⁵ For we have found this man a plague, and he is moving this dissension to all the Jews throughout the inhabited-earth. And he is a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes;

⁴ Now as the barbarians saw the snake hanging from his hand, they were saying to one another, This man is certainly a murderer, whom, having been saved out of the sea, justice did not permit him to live. ⁵ Therefore indeed, he shook-off the snake into the fire and suffered no evil. ⁶ But they were expecting that he is about to swell up or to suddenly fall down dead. But expecting it for a long time and viewing nothing improper happening to him, having a turnabout, they were saying that he was a god.
⁷ Now in the regions around that place, were farms possessed by the foremost one of the island, Publius by name, who accepted us and lodged us courteously three days. ⁸ Now it happened, that the father of Publius lay sick, being troubled with fevers and dysentery; to whom Paul having entered and prayed and laid his hands on him, healed him. ⁹ Therefore, when this happened, the rest who have any sicknesses in the island were also coming near and were being healed, ¹⁰ who also honored us with many honors, and when we sailed, they placed on the ship the things for our need.

²² But we deem it worthy to hear from you what things you are mindful of; for indeed, concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere.

⁸ And why not say : Let us do evil, in order that good things should come (just-like we are blasphemed and just-like some say that we speak blasphemies?) Whose condemnation is just!

¹⁰ We are foolish because of Christ, but you are prudent in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are glorious, but we are dishonored. ¹¹ We are both hungry and thirsty, till the current hour, and are naked and are battered and are homeless; ¹² and we are laboring, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we are speaking well of them; being persecuted, we are tolerating it; ¹³ being blasphemed, we are encouraging. We have become like the scums of the world, the garbage of all things, even until now.

⁷ But it is also essential for him to have a good testimony from those who are outside the congregation; in order that he may not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

{‘Unimpeachable,’(below, G423), ‘irreproachable,’(Tit 1, G410), are both in the qualifications of the Lord’s earthly congregation’s leadership, described in various Bible versions and locations within as: elders, bishops, overseers, pastors, shepherds, presbyters; (all terms are always plural in the Bible). These words do not translate well into English. They are simply a description of a person not under an accusation by an enemy or legal system or better as under any kind of accusation, this person is blameless, guiltless and has an impeccable reputation. Another note: ‘children’is plural in Greek.}

¹³ Now-then let us go forth to him outside the encampment, carrying his reproach.

¹⁴ If you are reproached in the name of Christ, you are fortunate, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. He is indeed blasphemed according to their manner, but he is glorified according to your manner.

¹² As for Demetrius, he has been testified of by all and by the truth itself. But we also are testifying and you know that our testimony is true.

⁹ Behold, I give those from the synagogue of the Adversary, those who say they are themselves Jews and they are not, but are lying, behold, I will make them in order that they should come and should worship in the sight of your feet and should know that I have loved you.

¹⁷ I will not die, but live and declare the works of Jehovah. ¹⁸ Jehovah has disciplined me greatly, but he has not given me over to death.

¹⁸ Now also some of the Epicureans and Stoic philosophers were encountering him and some were saying, Whatever does this babbler wish to say?
Some said, He seems to be a proclaimer of strange demons, because he is proclaiming the good-news of Jesus and the resurrection.

²⁶ And you view and hear, that not only from Ephesus, but almost all of Asia, this Paul has persuaded and seduced a considerable crowd, saying that they are not gods, those born through man’s hands.

³⁷ But when Paul is about to be led into the encampment, he says to the commander, Is it legal for me to speak to you?
And he said, Do you know Greek? ³⁸ Are you not then the Egyptian who before these days unsettled the city, and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?

¹⁴ Now as they were staying there many days, Festus submitted to the King, the things according to Paul’s case, saying, There is a certain man, a prisoner, who is left behind by Felix; ¹⁵ concerning whom, when I happened to be in Jerusalem, the high-priests and the elders of the Jews disclosed things to me, asking for a sentence against him.

¹⁹ but they were having some debates with him concerning their own religion and concerning someone named Jesus, who had died, whom Paul was claiming to be living.

²⁶ concerning whom, I do not have any certainty as what to write to my lord. Hence, I led him in front of you and especially in front of you, King Agrippa, that, when his examination happens, I may have something to write.

³⁶ Just-as it has been written, ‘Because of you we are slain the whole day. We were counted as sheep of the slaughter.’

⁹ For I am thinking that God has showed us, the apostles, last of all, as men doomed to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to messengers and men.

³² But being judged, we are disciplined by the Lord, in order that we should not be condemned together with the world.

³¹ I die every day by my boasting of you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁰ always carrying around in the body the death of the Lord Jesus, in order that the life of Jesus should also be manifested in our body. ¹¹ For we who live are habitually given up to death because of Jesus, in order that the life of Jesus should also be manifested in our mortal flesh.

¹¹ Therefore knowing the fear of the Lord, we are persuading men, but we have been manifested to God, and I hope to have also been manifested in your consciences.

²² But I was still unrecognized by face to the congregations of Judea, which are in Christ; ²³ but they were only hearing that, He who previously persecuted us is now proclaiming the good-news of the faith of which he was previously making havoc. ²⁴ And they were glorifying God with me.

¹¹ Because Jehovah God is a sun and a shield. Jehovah will give favor and glory. He will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly.

¹⁶ How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.

⁴ Those who are mourning are fortunate, because they will be comforted.

¹² Rejoice and be glad, because your reward is much in the heavens; for thus, they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

¹⁹ Do not store up treasures for you upon the earth, where moth and rust ingest, and where thieves burrow through your^\'b0 wall and steal. ²⁰ But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust ingest, and where thieves do not burrow through or steal. ²¹ You who hunger now are fortunate, because you will be fed. You who are weeping now are fortunate, because you will be laughing.

¹¹ Therefore, if you have not become faithful in the unrighteous money, who will be entrusting the true riches to you? ¹² And if you have not become faithful in what is another’s, who will be giving you what is yours?

²² And therefore, you now indeed have sorrow, but I will see you again and your heart will be rejoicing and no one takes your joy away from you.

⁶ But Peter said, I do not possess silver and gold, but what I have, that I am giving to you. In the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, arise and walk.

⁴¹ Therefore indeed, they were traveling from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were deemed worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the name of Jesus.

²⁵ But toward midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God and the prisoners were their audience;

² through whom we also have had our access to this grace in the faith in which we are standing, and we are boasting in hope of the glory of God. ³ But not only in this, but we are also boasting in our afflictions, knowing that affliction is working endurance;

³² Yet, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up on behalf of us all, how will he not also be granting to us all things together with him?

² that great sorrow is in me and constant anguish in my heart.

¹² Now if their trespass is the riches of the world and their loss is the riches of the Gentiles; how much more is their fullness?

¹⁵ Ready to rejoice with the ones rejoicing and to weep with the ones weeping.

¹³ Now the God of hope may fill you with all joy and peace in the believing, that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.

⁵ that you were enriched in him in everything, in all speech and all knowledge;

²¹ So-then, let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, ²² whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things which are present, or future things. All things are yours, ²³ and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.

⁷ But we have this treasure in clay vessels, in order that the excellence of the power may be from God and not from us.

¹⁵ For all things are because of you, in order that the grace which increased through the many, the thanksgiving may abound to the glory of God.

³ I am not saying this toward your condemnation; for I have said before, that you are in our hearts, that we may die together with you and we may live together with you. ⁴ My boldness of speech toward you is much; my boasting on your behalf is much. I have been filled with your encouragement. I over-abound with joy in all our affliction.
⁵ For even when we came into Macedonia, our flesh still had no relief, but we were being afflicted in everything; outside were quarrels, inside were fears. ⁶ But God, who encourages the humble, encouraged us at the presence of Titus; ⁷ and not only at his presence, but also at the encouragement to which he was encouraged in you, while reporting to us your longing, your anguish, your zeal on my behalf; so-that I rejoiced even more. ⁸ Because even if I made you sorrowful in the previous letter, I do not regret it; even if I was regretting it. For I see that, that letter made you sorrowful, even if but for a season. ⁹ I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, in order that you might suffer-damage in nothing from us. ¹⁰ For the sorrow which is according to the will of God is working unregrettable repentance for salvation, but the sorrow of the world is working death.

⁹ For you know the favor of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet he became-poor because of you, in order that you might be enriched through that poverty.

⁸ This grace was given to me the least of all the holy-ones, to proclaim the good-news of the untraceable riches of Christ among the Gentiles;

¹⁶ in order that he may give to you, according to the riches of his glory, to be powerful with his power, through his Spirit in the inward man;

¹⁷ But even if I am a drink-offering upon the sacrifice and ministry of your faith, I am rejoicing, and even rejoicing together with you all.

⁴ Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, Rejoice.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing in gratitude in your heart to the Lord.

⁶ And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, having accepted the word in much affliction with joy of the Holy Spirit;

⁷ Brethren, because of this, we were comforted on the basis of you in all our affliction and calamity through your faith, ⁸ because now we live, if you stand-firm in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanksgiving are we able to repay to God concerning you? Over all the joy in which we are rejoicing before our God is because of you, ¹⁰ exceptionally beseeching God night and day, that we may see your face and may mend the things lacking of your faith.

¹⁶ Rejoice always.

⁸ for bodily exercise is profitable for few things, but godliness is profitable for all things, having the promise of life the current one and the future one.

¹⁸ also command them to work what is good, to be rich in good works, to be liberal in giving, generous,

³⁴ For you also sympathized together with me in my bonds, and you accepted the plunder of your possessions with joy, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession in the heavens and an abiding one.

² My brethren, deem it with all joy, whenever you fall into various temptations, ³ knowing that the proving of your faith is working out endurance. ⁴ But let endurance have its completed work, in order that you may be complete and whole, deficient in nothing.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brethren. Did God not choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to those who love him?

⁶ In which hope you are glad now for a few moments, if it is essential, you have been made sorrowful in various tests, ⁷ in order that the trial of your faith, ( being much more precious than gold, which perishes), even now being tested through fire, may be found for praise and honor and to glory in the revelation of Jesus Christ.
⁸ You love whom you have not seen; now you believe in whom you do not see; in both you are glad with unspeakable and glorified joy;

¹³ But accordingly you are sharing in the sufferings of the Christ with us, rejoice, in order that you may also rejoice in the revelation of his glory, being glad.

⁹ I know your works, your affliction and your poverty (but you are rich) and the blasphemy of those who saying about themselves they are Jews and they are not, but are a synagogue of the Adversary.

⁷ He who overcomes will be inheriting these things, and I will be his God and he will be a son to me.

¹ And Hannah prayed and said, My heart rejoices in Jehovah. My heart is exalted in Jehovah. My mouth is enlarged over my enemies because I rejoice in your salvation.

²⁰ I will speak that I may be refreshed. I will open my lips and answer.

² Behold now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth. ³ My words will utter the uprightness of my heart and what my lips know they will speak sincerely.

¹⁵ O Lord, open you my lips and my mouth will show forth your praise.

³² I will run the way of your commandments because you will enlarge my heart.

⁵ Yes, moreover, wine is treacherous. He is a haughty man, who does not keep at home, who enlarges his desire as Sheol and he is as death and cannot be satisfied, but gathers to him all nations and heaps to him all peoples.

³ I am not saying this toward your condemnation; for I have said before, that you are in our hearts, that we may die together with you and we may live together with you. ⁴ My boldness of speech toward you is much; my boasting on your behalf is much. I have been filled with your encouragement. I over-abound with joy in all our affliction.

¹ O foolish Galatians, who bewitched you that the truth is not to be obeyed, (in whose eyes, Jesus Christ was portrayed among you as having been crucified)?

⁸ Knowing that whatever good thing each one practices, he will be getting this from the Lord, whether bondservant or free man.

⁸ For God is my witness, how I am longing-for all of you in the affections of Christ Jesus.

¹⁵ Now you also know, you Philippians, that in the beginning of the good-news, when I went out from Macedonia, no congregation shared with me in the word of the giving and receiving, except you only.

¹² Behold, I am coming shortly, and my reward is with me, to give to each one as his work will be.

¹⁶ Yes, he would have allured you out of distress into a broad place, where there is no constraint and what is set on your table would be full of fatness.

¹² When you go, your steps will not be restricted. And if you run, you will not stumble.

⁹ Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

⁷ Will it be said, O house of Jacob, Is the Spirit of Jehovah restricted? Are these his practices? Do not my words do good to him who walks uprightly?

¹⁷ But whoever has the world’s good life and should view his brother having need and then should lock his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

¹⁴ Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness of which he died. And Joash the King of Israel came down to him and wept over him and said, My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen of it!
¹⁵ And Elisha said to him, Take bow and arrows. And he took to him bow and arrows. ¹⁶ And he said to the King of Israel, Put your hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it. And Elisha laid his hands upon the king's hands. ¹⁷ And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, Jehovah's arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria, for you will kill* the Syrians in Aphek till you have consumed them.
¹⁸ And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said to the King of Israel, Strike upon the ground. And he killed* three times and stopped. ¹⁹ And the man of God was angry with him and said, You should have struck five or six times. Then you would have struck Syria till you had consumed it, but now you will kill* Syria but three times.

¹⁰ I am Jehovah your God who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.

²⁸ Now he came into the house, the blind men came to him and Jesus says to them, You believe that I am able to do this?
They say to him, Yes, Lord.
²⁹ Then he touched their eyes, saying, Let it happen for you according to your faith.

¹⁹ Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, Why were we not able to cast it out?
²⁰ Now Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief. For assuredly I am saying to you, If you have faith like a kernel of a mustard-seed, you will say to this mountain, Proceed from here to over there, and it will proceed, and nothing will be impossible for you.

⁴ But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, except in his fatherland and among his own relatives and in his own house. ⁵ And he was not able to do any miracle there, except that he laid his hands upon a few who were sick and healed them. ⁶ And he was marveling because of their unbelief.

And he was going around the villages in a circle, teaching.

²⁴ Because of this, I am saying to you, All things, as many things as you may ask for when praying, believe that you receive them and you will have them.

¹⁴ I am not writing these things to be embarrassing you, but I am admonishing you as my beloved children. ¹⁵ For even if you have ten thousand tutors in Christ, but you do not have many fathers, for I fathered you in Christ Jesus through the good-news.

¹² Brethren, I beseech of you, become like I am, because I have also become like you are. You wronged me in nothing;

¹⁹ My little-children, of whom I am in travail again till whenever Christ has been formed in you.

¹¹ Just-as you know, as we became with each one of you, like a father with his own children, encouraging you and consoling you\super\'b0

⁵ And you have forgotten the encouragement which reasons with you as with sons, ‘My son, do not regard-lightly the disciplining of the Lord, nor be fainting when you are reproved by him. ⁶ For whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and scourges every son whom he is accepting.’

⁶ But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing in himself. For he who is doubting himself resembles a wave of the sea being blown by the wind and tossed around. ⁷ For do not let that man assume that he will be receiving anything from the Lord–

¹ My little-children, these things I am writing to you in order that you may not sin. And if anyone should sin, we have a Helper with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

¹² I am writing to you, my little-children, because your sins have been forgiven to you through his name. ¹³ I am writing to you, fathers, because you have known the one who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young-men, because you have overcome the evil one. I am writing to you, children, because you have known the Father. ¹⁴ I wrote to you, fathers, because you have known the one who is from the beginning. I wrote to you, young-men, because you are strong and the word of God is abiding in you and you have overcome the evil one.

⁷ Let no one mislead you, my little-children. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just-as that man is righteous.

¹⁴ And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us; ¹⁵ and if we know that he hears us whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from him.

⁴ I have no greater joy from these things, in order that I may hear my children are walking in the truth.

¹⁶ and you take of their daughters to your sons and their daughters play the prostitute after their gods and make your sons play the prostitute after their gods.

¹⁹ You* will keep my statutes. You will not let your cattle engender with a diverse kind. You will not sow your field with two kinds of seed, neither will there come upon you a garment of two kinds of stuff mingled together.

² and when Jehovah your God will deliver them up before you and you will kill* them, then you will utterly destroy them. You will make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them. ³ Neither will you make marriages with them. Your daughter you will not give to his son, nor his daughter will you take to your son.

⁹ You will not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole fruit is forfeited: the seed which you have sown and the increase of the vineyard. ¹⁰ You will not plow with an ox and a donkey together. ¹¹ You will not wear a mingled stuff, wool and linen together.

² And the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it into the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon. ³ And when those of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah. And they took Dagon and set him in his place again.

²¹ And Elijah came near to all the people and said, How long do you* go limping between the two sides? If Jehovah be God, follow him, but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

² And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him and said to king Jehoshaphat, Should you help the wicked and love those who hate Jehovah? For this thing wrath is upon you from before Jehovah.

¹ Now when these things were done, the rulers drew near to me, saying, The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians and the Amorites. ² For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the peoples of the lands. Yes, the hand of the heads and rulers has been chief in this trespass.

¹¹ which you have commanded by your servants the prophets, saying, The land, to which you* go to possess it, is an unclean land through the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, through their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their filthiness. ¹² Now therefore do not give your* daughters to their sons, neither take their daughters to your* sons, nor seek their peace or their prosperity forever, that you* may be strong and eat the good of the land and leave it for an inheritance to your* sons until everlasting.

¹⁹ And they gave their hand that they would put away their wives. And being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their guilt.

¹ On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people and in it was found written that an Ammonite and a Moabite should not enter into the assembly of God everlasting, ² because they did not meet the sons of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, to curse them. However our God turned the curse into a blessing. ³ And it happened, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.

²³ In those days also I saw the Jews who had married women of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab. ²⁴ And their sons spoke half in the speech of Ashdod and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people. ²⁵ And I contended with them and cursed them and killed* certain of them and plucked off their hair and made them swear by God, saying, You* will not give your* daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters for your* sons, or for yourselves.
²⁶ Did not Solomon King of Israel sin by these things? Yet there was no king like him among many nations and he was beloved of his God and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless foreign women caused even him to sin.

³ As for the holy ones who are in the earth, they are the excellent in whom is all my delight.

⁴ I have not sat with men of falsehood, nor will I go in with pretenders. ⁵ I hate the assembly of evildoers and will not sit with the wicked.

⁹ Do not gather my soul with sinners, nor my life with men of blood, ¹⁰ in whose hands is wickedness and their right hand is full of bribes.

²⁰ If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god, ²¹ will not God search this out? Because he knows the secrets of the heart.

³ I will set no wicked speech before my eyes. I hate the work of those who turn aside. It will not cleave to me. ⁴ A perverse heart will depart from me. I will know no evil thing.
⁵ He who slanders his neighbor secretly, I will destroy him. He who has a high look and a proud heart I will not endure.

³⁵ but mingled themselves with the nations and learned their works,

⁶³ I am a companion of all those who fear you and of those who observe your precepts.

²¹ Do I not hate them, O Jehovah, who hate you? And am I not grieved with those who rise up against you? ²² I hate them with perfect hatred. They have become my enemies.

¹⁸ Riches and honor are with me, durable wealth and righteousness. ¹⁹ My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold and my revenue better than choice silver.

²⁴ Make no friendship with a man who is given to anger and you will not go with a wrathful man,

²⁷ An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to a wicked man.

¹¹ Judah has dealt treacherously and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has profaned the holiness of Jehovah which he loves and has married the daughter of a foreign god.

¹⁵ And did he not make one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? And why one? He sought a godly seed.
Therefore take heed to your* spirit and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

⁷ The world is not able to hate you, but it hates me, because I am testifying concerning it, that its works are evil.

¹⁸ If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me first, then you. ¹⁹ If you were from the world, the world would love its own, but because you are not from the world, but I chose you out of the world, the world is hating you because of this.

²³ Now having been released, they came to their own brethren and reported how-much the high-priests and the elders had said to them.

¹² The night has progressed, and the day has drawn near. Therefore, we should place away from ourselves the works of darkness, and should clothe ourselves with the weapons of light. ¹³ We should walk decently, like in the day; not in revelings and drunkenness, not in sleeping-around and in unbridled-lusts, not in strife and in jealousy. ¹⁴ But clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not practice forethought for the lusts of the flesh.

⁹ I have written to you in my letter not to socialize together with fornicators;

³⁹ A wife has been bound by law inasmuch time as the husband is living, but if the husband has fallen-asleep, she is free to be married to whom she wills, but only in the Lord.

²¹ You are not able to drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You are not able to partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons.

³³ Do not be misled: evil associations corrupt virtuous morals.

¹⁷ Therefore I am saying and testifying this in the Lord: you are to walk no longer as the rest of the Gentiles are also walking, in the futility of their mind, ¹⁸ having been darkened in their mind, having been alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance which is in them, because of the hardening of their heart, ¹⁹ who are apathetic, gave themselves up to unbridled-lusts, for the working of all uncleanness in greed.
²⁰ But you did not so learn the Christ;

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words; for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience. ⁷ Therefore do not become joint partakers with them. ⁸ For you were previously in darkness, but now you^\'b0 are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light ⁹ (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), ¹⁰ testing what is well pleasing to the Lord. ¹¹ And have no fellowship together with the unfruitful works of darkness, but also rather reprove them; ¹² for it is shameful even to speak of the things happening by them covertly. ¹³ But being reproved, all things are manifested by the light; for everything which is manifested is light. ¹⁴ Hence he says, Arise, you who are sleeping and rise up from the dead and the Christ will appear upon you.

¹⁵ in order that you might become blameless and harmless children of God, flawless in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as illuminations in the world.

⁴ But brethren, you are not in darkness, in order that the day might overtake you like a thief. ⁵ You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night, nor of darkness; ⁶ Therefore consequently, we should not sleep, like the rest also do, but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For those who are sleeping, sleep in the night, and those who are drunken, are drunken in the night. ⁸ But we, being of the day, should be sober; having clothed yourselves with the breastplate of faith and love, and a helmet-- the hope of salvation.

⁴ Adulterers and adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship of the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever wills to be a friend of the world is designated as an enemy of God.

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s ownership, that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light; ¹⁰ who previously were not a people, but now are the people of God; who had not been shown-mercy, but now have been shown-mercy.

² that you should no longer have your life, (the rest of your time in the flesh), in the lusts of men, but in the will of God. ³ For enough time which has passed away from our life is for us to have worked the will of the Gentiles, and having conducted-ourselves in: unbridled-lusts, lusts, drunkenness, revelings, drinking-bouts and illegal idolatries; ⁴ in which they are surprised by you, that you^\'b0 are not running together with them into the same outpouring of riotousness, blaspheming;

⁵ And this is the message which we have heard from him and are reporting to you, that God is light and there is no darkness in him–none at all. ⁶ If we should say that we have fellowship with him and then should walk in the darkness, we are lying to ourselves, and we are not practicing the truth. ⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son is cleansing us from every sin.

¹² not like Cain who was from the evil one and slaughtered his brother. And he slaughtered him because of what? Because his works were evil but the works of his brother were righteous.
¹³ Do not marvel my brethren, if the world hates you. ¹⁴ We know that we have stepped out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother is abiding in death.

⁴ And when they arose early on the morning of the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands lay cut off upon the threshold. Only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

³ But Zerubbabel and Jeshua and the rest of the heads of fathers of Israel, said to them, You* have nothing to do with us in building a house to our God, but we ourselves together will build to Jehovah, the God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us.

¹⁶ He who believes and is immersed will be saved, but he who disbelieves will be condemned.

¹⁴ and more believers, multitudes of both men and women, were added to the Lord;

²⁰ But Peter said to him, May your silver together with you be sent into destruction, because you have thought to procure the gift of God through monies!

²⁰ But I am saying, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they are sacrificing to demons, and not to God, and I do not wish you to become partners of demons.
²¹ You are not able to drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You are not able to partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons.

⁸ But if anyone is not planning-for his own and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

¹¹ And the testimony is this, that God gave to us everlasting life and this life is in his Son. ¹² He who has the Son, has life; he who does not have the Son of God, does not have the life.
¹³ I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have everlasting life, and in order that you may believe in the name of the Son of God.

⁷ And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you. ⁸ And I will give to you and to your seed after you, the land of your travels, all the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession and I will be their God.

³ You will have no other gods before me.

¹³ And in all things that I have said to you* take you* heed and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of your mouth.

⁴⁵ And I will dwell among the sons of Israel and will be their God.

¹⁴ for you will worship no other god. For Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

¹² And I will walk among you* and will be your* God and you* will be my people.

²³ Take heed to yourselves, lest you* forget the covenant of Jehovah your* God, which he made with you* and make you* a graven image in the form of anything which Jehovah your God has forbidden you. ²⁴ For Jehovah your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

⁷ You will have no other gods before me.

¹⁴ You* will not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples that are all around you*, ¹⁵ for Jehovah your God in the midst of you is a jealous God, lest the anger of Jehovah your God be kindled against you and he destroy you from the face of the earth.

¹⁴ Now therefore fear Jehovah and serve him in sincerity and in truth. And put away the gods which your* fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt and serve you* Jehovah.
¹⁵ And if it seems evil to you* to serve Jehovah, choose you* this day whom you* will serve: whether the gods which your* fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you* dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.
¹⁶ And the people answered and said, Far be it from us that we should forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods. ¹⁷ For Jehovah our God, he it is who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage and who did those great signs in our sight and preserved us in all the way in which we went and among all the peoples through the midst of whom we passed. ¹⁸ And Jehovah drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites who dwelt in the land. Therefore we also will serve Jehovah, for he is our God.
¹⁹ And Joshua said to the people, You* cannot serve Jehovah, for he is a holy God. He is a jealous God. He will not forgive your* transgression nor your* sins. ²⁰ If you* forsake Jehovah and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you* evil and consume you*, after he has done you* good. ²¹ And the people said to Joshua, No, but we will serve Jehovah.
²² And Joshua said to the people, You* are witnesses against yourselves that you* have chosen for you*, Jehovah, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses. ²³ Now therefore, he said, put away the foreign gods which are among you* and incline your* heart to Jehovah, the God of Israel. ²⁴ And the people said to Joshua, we will serve Jehovah our God and we will listen to his voice.

³ And Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, If you* do return to Jehovah with all your* heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you* and direct your* hearts to Jehovah and serve him only. And he will deliver you* out of the hand of the Philistines. ⁴ Then the sons of Israel did put away the Baals and the Ashtaroth and served Jehovah only.

³³ They were afraid of Jehovah and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations from among whom they had been carried away. ³⁴ To this day they do after the former manner. They do not fear Jehovah, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law or after the commandment which Jehovah commanded the sons of Jacob, whom he named Israel,

⁴ And he built altars in the house of Jehovah, of which Jehovah said, In Jerusalem I will put my name. ⁵ And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of Jehovah.

⁵ And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had given to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah and in the places all around Jerusalem; those also who burned incense to Baal, to the sun and to the moon and to the planets and to all the host of heaven.
⁶ And he brought out the Asherah from the house of Jehovah, outside Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron and burned it at the brook Kidron and beat it to dust and cast the dust of it upon the graves of the common people. ⁷ And he broke down the houses of the sodomites that were in the house of Jehovah where the women wove hangings for the Asherah.

⁴ And he built altars in the house of Jehovah, of which Jehovah said, In Jerusalem will my name be everlasting. ⁵ And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of Jehovah.

¹ Lord, you have been our dwelling-place in all generations.

⁷ And I will give them a heart to know me, that I am Jehovah. And they will be my people and I will be their God, for they will return to me with their whole heart.

³³ But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Jehovah: I will give my laws into their mind and I will write them on their hearts. And I will be their God and they will be my people.

³⁸ And they will be my people and I will be their God.

²⁰ that they may walk in my statutes and keep my ordinances and do them. And they will be my people and I will be their God.

²⁵ And I will sprinkle clean water upon you* and you* will be clean. I will cleanse you* from all your* filthiness and from all your* idols.

²⁸ And you* will dwell in the land that I gave to your* fathers and you* will be my people and I will be your* God.

²⁶ Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them. It will be an everlasting covenant with them and I will place them and multiply them and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them everlasting. ²⁷ My tabernacle will also be with them and I will be their God and they will be my people.

⁷ And he said to me, Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the sons of Israel everlasting. And the house of Israel will no more defile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their prostitution and by the dead bodies of their kings in their high places,

⁹ Now let them put away their prostitution and the dead bodies of their kings, far from me and I will dwell in the midst of them everlasting.

²³ And I will sow her to me in the earth. And I will have mercy upon her who had not obtained mercy. And I will say to those who were not my people, You are my people and they will say, My God.

⁸ Ephraim will say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered and will regard him. I am like a green fir tree. From me, your fruit is found.

⁵ and those who worship the host of heaven upon the housetops and those who worship, who swear to Jehovah and swear by Malcam,

¹⁰ Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in the midst of you, says Jehovah. ¹¹ And many nations will join themselves to Jehovah in that day and will be my people and I will dwell in the midst of you. And you will know that Jehovah of hosts has sent me to you.

⁸ And I will bring them and they will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they will be my people and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

⁹ And I will bring the third part into the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried. They will call on my name and I will hear them. I will say, It is my people and they will say, Jehovah is my God.

²⁴ No one is able to serve two lords, for either he will hate the one and will love the other; or he will hold to one and will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and ^{F} money.

⁵⁶ He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me and I in him.

⁹ But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God is dwelling in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

¹¹ But if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus up from the dead is dwelling in you, he who raised the Christ up from the dead will also be giving-life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who is dwelling in you.

²⁶ And it will be, in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people; they will be called sons of the living God there.’

¹⁶ Do you not know that you are a temple of God and the Spirit of God is dwelling in you? ¹⁷ If anyone corrupts the temple of God, God will have corruption for this one; for the temple of God is holy, which you are.

¹⁹ Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? And you are not your own;

²⁰ having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone;

¹⁷ for the Christ to dwell in your hearts through the faith,

¹⁴ Guard the good deposit consigned to you through the Holy Spirit who is dwelling in us.

⁶ but Christ was faithful as a son, over his house; whose house we are, if indeed we hold-onto our boldness and the boasting of our hope steadfast till the end.

¹⁰ Because this one is the covenant which I will covenant with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord. I will be giving my laws into their mind and I will be writing them upon their hearts. And I will be a God to them and they will be covenanted into a people for me;

⁵ You, yourselves, like living stones, are also built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

¹² No one has seen God at anytime; if we love one another, God is abiding in us and his love is completed in us.

¹⁵ Whoever confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God.

²⁰ Now we know that the Son of God has come and has given us perception, in order that we might know the true one and we are in the true one, that is, in his son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and the everlasting life. ²¹ Guard yourselves from idols, my little-children. Amen.

¹ Write to the messenger of the congregation in Ephesus:
He who is holding-fast the seven stars in his right hand and who is walking in the middle of the seven golden lamp-stands says these things:

³ And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men and he will be residing with them and they will be his people and God will be with them.

²¹ Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.

²⁶ And he spoke to the congregation, saying, Depart, I beseech you*, from the tents of these wicked men and touch nothing of theirs, lest you* are consumed in all their sins.

⁴⁵ You* get up from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

²¹ And the sons of Israel who came again out of the captivity and all such as had separated themselves to them from the filthiness of the nations of the land, to seek Jehovah, the God of Israel, ate,

¹¹ Now therefore make confession to Jehovah, the God of your* fathers and do his pleasure and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the foreign women.

¹ The man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers is fortunate, ² because his delight is in the law of Jehovah and on his law he meditates day and night.
³ And he will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. And whatever he does will prosper.

⁶ Forsake you* simpleness and live and advance in the way of understanding.

¹¹ Depart, depart, go out from there. Touch no unclean thing. Go out of the midst of her. Cleanse yourselves, you* who bear the vessels of Jehovah.

⁶ Flee out of the midst of Babylon and save every man his life. Do not be cut off in her iniquity, for it is the time of Jehovah's vengeance; he will render to her a recompense.

³⁷ All that the Father gives me will be coming to me, and the one who is coming to me I may never cast outside. ³⁸ Because I have come down from heaven, not in order that I should do my own will, but do the will of the one who sent me.

⁴⁰ Now he was thoroughly testifying and encouraging them with many other words, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation.

⁷ Hence receive one another, just-as Christ also received you, to the glory of God.

¹ Therefore beloved, having these promises, we should cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, completing holiness in the fear of God.

⁴ And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come forth, my people, out of her, in order that you might not have fellowship together in her sins and in order that you might not receive out of her wounds,

¹ And when Abram was ninety-nine years old, Jehovah appeared to Abram and said to him, I am God Almighty, walk before me and you will be perfect.

³ And Jacob said to Joseph, God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me,

¹⁴ I will be his father and he will be my son. If he commits wicked things, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the sons of men,

³⁰ A seed will serve him. It will be told of the Lord to the next generation.

⁶ I will say to the north, Give up and to the south, Do not keep back. Bring my sons from far and my daughters from the end of the earth,

¹⁹ But I said, How I will put you among the sons and give you a desirable land, a pleasant heritage of the hosts of the nations! And I said, You* will call me My Father and will not turn away from following me.

¹ At that time, says Jehovah, I will be the God of all the families of Israel and they will be my people.

⁹ They will come with weeping. And I will lead them with supplications. I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they will not stumble. For I am a father to Israel and Ephraim is my firstborn.

⁹ And Jehovah said, Call his name Lo-ammi, for you* are not my people and I will not be yours*.
¹⁰ Yet the number of the sons of Israel will be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered. And it will happen that, in the place where it was said to them, You* are not my people, it will be said to them, The sons of the living God.

¹² But as many as received him, he gave to them the authority to become children of God, to the believing ones in his name,

¹⁴ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. ¹⁵ For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of sonship, in which we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ The Spirit himself is testifying together with our spirit, that we are children of God; ¹⁷ and if children, then heirs; indeed, heirs of God and joint heirs of Christ; if indeed we are suffering together with him, in order that we might also be glorified together with him.

²⁹ Because, whom he knew beforehand, he also predetermined, one transformed to the image of his Son, that he himself might be the firstborn among many brethren;

²⁶ For you are all sons of God, through the faith, in Christ Jesus.

⁵ in order that he might buy those up who were under the law, in order that we might receive the sonship. \ulnone\nosupersub ⁶ And because you are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. ⁷ So-that you are no longer a bondservant, but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

⁵ Having predetermined us to the sonship through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the delight of his will,

¹ Behold what sort of love the Father has given to us, in order that we might be called children of God. Because of this, the world does not know you, because it did not know him. ² Beloved, we are now the children of God and it was not yet manifested what we will be. But we know that, if he is manifested, we will be similar to him, because we will be seeing him just-as he is.

⁸ I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, Who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

²² And I saw no temple in it; for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
