²³ and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.

¹⁵ Therefore take good heed to yourselves, for you saw no kind of likeness on the day Jehovah spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire, ¹⁶ lest you act corruptly and make yourselves a graven image, the likeness of any figure, the likeness of male or female, ¹⁷ the likeness of any beast on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flies in the air, ¹⁸ the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish in the waters beneath the earth;

⁸ You shall not make a graven image for you, any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or in the earth beneath, or in the waters beneath the earth.

²⁰ And they changed their Glory into the likeness of an ox that eats grass.

⁵ They have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see; ⁶ they have ears, but they do not hear; they have noses, but they do not smell; ⁷ they have hands, but they do not handle; they have feet, but they do not walk; they do not mutter through their throat. ⁸ The ones who make them are like them, and everyone who trusts in them.

¹⁵ The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. ¹⁶ They have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see; ¹⁷ they have ears, but they do not hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. ¹⁸ Those who make them are like them, everyone who trusts in them.

¹⁸ To whom then will you compare God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and behold, who has created these, who brings out their host by number? He calls them all by names by the greatness of His might, for He is strong in power; not one is lacking.

¹³ He fashions wood, and stretches a line; he marks it out with a pencil; he shapes it with carving tools, and he marks it out with the compass, and makes it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man, to sit in the house.

¹¹ Has a nation changed their gods who are yet no gods? But My people have changed their Glory for that which does not profit.

¹⁰ And I went in and saw. And behold, every kind of creeping thing, and hateful beast, and all the idols of the house of Israel, were carved on the wall all around.

²⁹ Then being offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like gold or silver or stone, engraved by art and man's imagination.

²⁵ For they changed the truth of God into a lie, and they worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

² You know that being led away, you nations were led to dumb idols.

³ For the time of life which is past is enough for us to have worked out the will of the nations, having gone on in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, parties, carousings, and abominable idolatries.

²⁰ And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and golden, and silver, and bronze, and stone, and wooden idols (which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk).
