²⁸ He has redeemed my soul from passing over into the Pit, and my life shall see the light.

⁴ I cried to Jehovah with my voice, and He heard me out of His holy hill. Selah.

² Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for to You I will pray.

² Jehovah is my strength, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock; I will trust in Him; He is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.

² O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not answer; and in the night, and am not silent.

⁹ What profit is in my blood, in going down to the pit? Shall the dust praise You? Shall it tell of Your truth?

²² You have seen, O Jehovah; do not keep silence; O Jehovah, do not be far from me.

¹² Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and give ear to my cry. Do not be silent at my tears; for I am a stranger with You, a pilgrim, as all my fathers were.

⁹ I will say to God my rock, Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the cruelty of the enemy?

¹⁵ Do not let the flood of waters overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut its mouth on me.

⁴ I am counted with those who go down to the Pit; I am like a feeble man; ⁵ free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom You remember no more; and by Your hand they are cut off. ⁶ You have laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.

¹ An Instruction of David; A Prayer when he was in the cave. I cried to Jehovah with my voice; with my voice I prayed to Jehovah.

⁷ Hear me quickly, O Jehovah; my spirit fails; do not hide Your face from me, lest I be like those who go down into the Pit.

¹² let us swallow them up alive as the grave, and whole, as those who go down into the pit;

⁴ Trust in Jehovah forever; for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

¹⁸ For the grave cannot praise You, death can not rejoice in You; they who go down into the pit cannot hope for Your truth.

³ And he cast him into the abyss and shut him up and set a seal on him, that he should deceive the nations no more until the thousand years should be fulfilled. And after that he must be loosed a little time.
