¹³ You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its savor, with what shall it be salted? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and to be trodden underfoot by men.

¹³ And every sacrifice of your food offering shall you season with salt. And you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your food offering. You shall offer salt with all your offerings.

⁴⁹ For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. ⁵⁰ Salt is good; but if the salt becomes saltless, with what will you season? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.

³⁴ Salt is good, but if the salt has become tasteless, with what shall it be seasoned? ³⁵ It is not fit for the land, nor for manure, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

⁶ Let your speech be always with grace, having been seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

⁴ For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, ⁵ and have tasted the good Word of God and the powers of the world to come, ⁶ and who have fallen away; it is impossible, I say, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify the Son of God afresh to themselves and put Him to an open shame.

²⁰ For if they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the full knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and are again entangled, they have been overcome by these, their last things are worse than the first. ²¹ For it would have been better for them not to have fully known the way of righteousness, than fully knowing it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
