⁴² Therefore watch; for you do not know what hour your Lord comes.

³⁶ But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not the angels of Heaven, but only My Father.

Yet not as I will, but as You will. ⁴⁰ And He came to the disciples and found them asleep. And He said to Peter, What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? ⁴¹ Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

³³ Take heed, watch and pray, for you do not know when the time is. ³⁴ As a man going away, leaving his house, and giving authority to his servants, and each man's work to him, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. ³⁵ Then you watch, for you do not know when the lord of the house is coming, at evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or early; ³⁶ lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping. ³⁷ And what I say to you, I say to all. Watch.

³⁵ Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning. ³⁶ And you yourselves be like men who wait for their lord, whenever he shall return from the wedding, so that when he comes and knocks, they may open to him immediately. ³⁷ Blessed are those servants whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Truly I say to you that he shall gird himself and make them recline; and coming up he will serve them. ³⁸ And if he comes in the second watch, or comes in the third watch, and find it so, blessed are those servants. ³⁹ And know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and would not have allowed his house to be dug through. ⁴⁰ Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man comes at an hour when you think not.

³⁶ Watch therefore, praying in every season that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things which shall occur, and to stand before the Son of Man.

¹¹ This also, knowing the time, that it is already time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we believed.

¹³ Watch! Stand fast in the faith! Be men! Be strong!

⁶ Therefore let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be calm.

⁷ But the end of all things has drawn near. Therefore be of sound mind, and be sensible to prayers.

⁸ Be sensible and vigilant, because your adversary the Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour;

² Be watchful and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die. For I have not found your works being fulfilled before God. ³ Remember then how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

¹⁵ Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is the one who watches and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.
