³¹ Which of the two did the will of his father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you that the tax-collectors and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

⁵ And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man. And he said to Nathan, As the Lord lives, the man who has done this shall surely die. ⁶ And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity. ⁷ And Nathan said to David, You are the man! So says Jehovah, the God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.

⁶ Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; yes, your own lips testify against you.

¹¹ Say to them: As I live, says the Lord Jehovah, I have no delight in the death of the wicked, except in the turning of the wicked from his way, and so to live. Turn, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel?

¹⁸ For truly I say to you, Till the heaven and the earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in any way pass from the Law until all is fulfilled.

⁵ And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.

²¹ Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.

⁹ And as Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax-office. And He said to him, Follow Me! And he arose and followed Him.

⁵⁰ For whoever shall do the will of My Father in Heaven, the same is My brother and sister and mother.

³ and said, Truly I say to you, Unless you are converted and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

¹⁶ So the last shall be first, and the first last, for many are called, but few are chosen.

²⁹ And all the people and the tax-collectors who heard Him justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

³⁷ And behold, a woman, a sinner in the city, knowing that He reclined in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster vial of ointment. ³⁸ And she stood behind Him, weeping at His feet, and she began to wash His feet with tears and wipe them with the hair of her head. And she ardently kissed His feet and anointed them with the ointment. ³⁹ But seeing this, the Pharisee who had invited Him, spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, for she is a sinner. ⁴⁰ And answering, Jesus said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. And he said, Teacher, speak. ⁴¹ There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. ⁴² And they having nothing to pay, he freely forgave both. Then which of them do you say will love him most? ⁴³ And answering, Simon said, I suppose that one to whom he forgave most. And He said to him, You have judged rightly. ⁴⁴ And He turned to the woman and said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, yet you gave Me no water for My feet. But she has washed My feet with tears, and has wiped them with the hair of her head. ⁴⁵ You gave Me no kiss, but this woman, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet. ⁴⁶ You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with ointment. ⁴⁷ Therefore I say to you, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, he loves little. ⁴⁸ And He said to her, Your sins are forgiven. ⁴⁹ And those reclining with Him began to say within themselves, Who is this who even forgives sins? ⁵⁰ And He said to the woman, Your faith has saved you, go in peace.

¹ And all the tax-collectors and sinners drew near to Him in order to hear Him. ² And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receives sinners and eats with them.

¹⁰ Likewise I say to you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

⁹ And Jesus said to him, This day salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. ¹⁰ For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

²² And he said to him, I will judge you out of your own mouth, wicked servant! You knew that I was a harsh man, taking up what I had not laid down and reaping what I did not sow.

³⁰ Truly, then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now He strictly commands all men everywhere to repent,

¹⁹ But we know that whatever things the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law; so that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may be under judgment before God,

²⁰ But the Law entered so that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound,

³⁰ What shall we say then? That the nations, who did not follow after righteousness have taken on righteousness, but a righteousness of faith. ³¹ But Israel, who followed after a law of righteousness did not arrive at a law of righteousness. ³² Why? Because it was not of faith, but as it were by the works of the Law. For they stumbled at that Stumbling-stone; ³³ as it is written, "Behold, I lay in Zion a Stumbling-stone and a Rock-of-offense, and everyone believing on Him shall not be put to shame."

¹³ the one who before was a blasphemer and a persecutor and insolent. But I obtained mercy, because being ignorant, I did it in unbelief. ¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ But for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, as a pattern to those being about to believe on Him to life everlasting.

⁹ The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
