¹⁹ And they shall deliver Him to the nations to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He shall rise again.

⁷ All who see Me mock me; they shoot out the lip; they shake the head, saying, ⁸ He trusted on Jehovah; let Him deliver Him; let Him rescue Him, since He delights in Him!

¹⁶ with the hypocrites, mockers, for a cake, they gnashed on me with their teeth.

¹⁹ Your dead ones shall live, together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust; for your dew is as the dew of lights, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

³ He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as it were a hiding of faces from Him, He being despised, and we esteemed Him not.

² After two days He will bring us to life; in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight.

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the huge fish, so the Son of Man shall be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

²¹ From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

⁶⁷ Then they spat in His face and beat Him with the fist. And others struck Him with the palms of their hands, ⁶⁸ saying, Prophesy to us, Christ; who is the one who struck you?

² And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor. ³ Then he who had betrayed Him, seeing that He was condemned, sorrowing, Judas returned the thirty pieces of silver again to the chief priests and elders, ⁴ saying, I have sinned, betraying innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? You see to that. ⁵ And he threw the pieces of silver down in the temple and departed. And he went and hanged himself. ⁶ And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. ⁷ And they took counsel and bought the potter's field with them, to bury strangers in. ⁸ Therefore that field was called, The Field of Blood, to this day. ⁹ Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, "And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of Him who had been priced, whom they of the children of Israel valued, ¹⁰ and gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me."

²⁷ Then taking Jesus into the praetorium, the soldiers of the governor gathered the cohort against Him. ²⁸ And stripping Him, they put a scarlet robe around Him. ²⁹ And plaiting a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! ³⁰ And spitting at Him, they took the reed and struck at His head. ³¹ And after they had mocked Him, they took the robe off of Him and put His own clothing on Him and led Him away to crucify Him.

⁶⁵ And some began to spit on Him, and to cover His face and to beat Him, and to say to Him, Prophesy! And the under-officers struck Him with slaps.

¹ And immediately in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council. And they bound Jesus and led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate.

¹⁶ And the soldiers led Him away inside the court, which is the praetorium. And they called together all the cohort. ¹⁷ And they clothed Him with purple and plaited a crown of thorns and put it around His head. ¹⁸ And they began to salute Him, Hail, King of the Jews! ¹⁹ And they struck Him on the head with a reed, and spat on Him, and placing the knees, they bowed to Him. ²⁰ And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him and put His own clothes on Him and led Him out to crucify Him.

²⁹ And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying, Aha! You razing the temple and building it in three days, ³⁰ save yourself and come down from the cross! ³¹ And also the chief priests mocking, with the scribes, said to one another, He saved others but he cannot save himself.

¹ And rising up, all the multitude of them led Him before Pilate. ² And they began to accuse Him, saying, We have found this one perverting the nation and forbidding them to give tribute to Caesar, saying himself to be a king, Christ. ³ And Pilate asked Him, saying, Are you the king of the Jews? And He answered him and said, You say it. ⁴ And Pilate said to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man. ⁵ And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.

¹¹ And humiliating Him with his guardsmen, and mocking Him by putting luxurious clothing around Him, Herod sent Him again to Pilate.

⁴⁶ And He said to them, So it is written, and so it behoved Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

²⁸ Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas into the praetorium. And it was early. And they did not go into the praetorium, that they should not be defiled, and that they might eat the Passover. ²⁹ Then Pilate went out to them and said, What charge do you bring against this man? ³⁰ They answered and said to him, If he were not an evildoer, then we would not have delivered him up to you. ³¹ Then Pilate said to them, You take him and judge him according to your Law. Then the Jews said to him, It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death ³² (that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which He spoke signifying what death He was about to die). ³³ Then Pilate entered into the praetorium again and called Jesus and said to him, Are you the king of the Jews? ³⁴ Jesus answered him, Do you say this thing of yourself, or did others say it to you about Me? ³⁵ Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you to me. What have you done? ³⁶ Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would fight so that I might not be delivered to the Jews. But now My kingdom is not from here. ³⁷ Pilate then said to Him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, You say it that I am a king. To this end I was born, and for this cause I came into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice. ³⁸ Pilate said to Him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews and said to them, I find no fault in him.

¹ Then Pilate therefore took Jesus and flogged Him. ² And the soldiers plaited a crown of thorns and put it on His head. And they put a purple robe on Him, ³ and said, Hail, King of the Jews! And they struck Him with their hands. ⁴ Then Pilate went out again and said to them, Behold, I bring him out to you so that you may know that I find no fault in him.

²³ this One given to you by the before-determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken and by lawless hands, crucifying Him, you put Him to death;

¹³ The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His son Jesus, whom you delivered up, denying Him in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to let Him go. ¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Just One and desired a murderer to be given to you. ¹⁵ And you killed the Prince of Life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. ¹⁶ And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, this one whom you see and know, His name made firm. And the faith which came through Him has given him this perfect soundness before you.

²⁷ For truly, against Your holy child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the nations, and the people of Israel, were gathered together

¹¹ And coming to us, and taking Paul's belt, and binding his hands and feet, he said, The Holy Spirit says these things: So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man whose belt this is, and will deliver him into the hands of the nations.

³ For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures; ⁵ and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the Twelve. ⁶ Afterward He was seen by over five hundred brothers at once, of whom the greater part remain until this present day, but also some fell asleep. ⁷ Afterward He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.
