Luke 20 Cross References - MKJV

1 And on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple and proclaimed the gospel, it happened that the chief priests and the scribes along with the elders came on Him. 2 And they spoke to Him, saying, Tell us, by what authority do you do these things? Or who is he who gave you this authority? 3 And He answered and said to them, I will also ask you one thing, and you answer me: 4 The baptism of John, was it from Heaven or from men? 5 And they reasoned within themselves, saying, If we shall say, From Heaven, he will say, Why then did you not believe him? 6 But if we say, From men, then all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet. 7 And they answered that they could not tell from where it was. 8 And Jesus said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things. 9 And He began to speak to the people this parable: A certain man planted a vineyard and let it out to vinedressers. And he went into a far country for a long time. 10 And in season he sent a servant to the vinedressers, so that they should give him the fruit of the vineyard. But the vinedressers beat him and sent him away empty. 11 And again he sent another servant. And they also beat him and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. 12 And again he sent a third. And they also wounded him and cast him out. 13 And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that they will respect him when they see him. 14 But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir! Come, let us kill him so that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then shall the lord of the vineyard do to them? 16 He shall come and destroy these vinedressers and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard this, they said, Let it not be! 17 And He looked at them and said, What then is this which is written, "The Stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the Head of the corner? 18 Whoever shall fall on that Stone shall be broken, but on whomever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." 19 And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him the same hour. And they feared the people, for they perceived that He had spoken this parable against them. 20 And they watched and sent forth spies, pretending themselves to be righteous men, so that they might seize upon a word of His, that they might deliver Him in this way to the power and authority of the governor. 21 And they asked Him, saying, Teacher, we know that you say and teach rightly, and do not accept the person of anyone, but truly teach the way of God. 22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar or not? 23 But He perceived their craftiness and said to them, Why do you tempt Me? 24 Show Me a coin. Whose image and inscription does it have? They answered and said, Caesar's. 25 And He said to them, Therefore render to Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's. 26 And they could not take hold of His words before the people. And they marveled at His answer and were silent. 27 And certain of the Sadducees came, those speaking against a resurrection, that it was not to be. And they asked Him, 28 saying, Teacher, Moses wrote to us, If anyone's brother dies, having a wife, and if he dies without children, his brother should take his wife and raise up seed to his brother. 29 Therefore there were seven brothers. And the first took a wife and died without children. 30 And the second took her as a wife, and he died childless. 31 And the third took her. And likewise the seven left no children and died. 32 Last of all the woman also died. 33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be? For the seven had her as a wife. 34 And answering, Jesus said to them, The sons of this world marry and are given in marriage, 35 but they who shall be counted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage. 36 Nor can they die any more, for they are equal to the angels, and are the sons of God, being the sons of the resurrection. 37 But that the dead are raised, even Moses pointed out at the Bush, when he called the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 38 For He is not God of the dead, but of the living. For all live to Him. 39 And answering, certain of the scribes said, Teacher, you have spoken well. 40 And after that they did not dare ask Him anything. 41 And He said to them, How do they say that Christ is the Son of David? 42 Even David himself says in the Book of Psalms, "The LORD said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand 43 until I place Your enemies as Your footstool." 44 David then calls Him Lord; how then is He his son? 45 And as all the people were listening, He said to the disciples, 46 Beware of the scribes who desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the first seats in the synagogues, and the chief places at the feasts; 47 who devour widows' houses, and make long prayers for a show; the same shall receive a more severe condemnation.

Pull off your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground. 6 And He said, I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 1 Chronicles 24:1-31

1 And the divisions of the sons of Aaron were: The sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father and had no sons. And Eleazar and Ithamar were priests. 3 And David distributed them according to their offices in their service, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar. 4 And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar. And so they were divided. Among the sons of Eleazar were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers. 5 So they divided them by lot, one sort with another. For the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of God, were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar. 6 And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the rulers, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites. One principal household was taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar. 7 Now the first lot came out to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah, 8 the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim, 9 the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin, 10 the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah, 11 the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah, 12 the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim, 13 the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab, 14 the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer, 15 the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Aphses, 16 the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezekel, 17 the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul, 18 the twenty-third to Delaiah, the twenty-fourth to Maaziah. 19 These were their orderings in their service to come into the house of Jehovah, according to their manner, to Aaron their father, as Jehovah, the God of Israel had commanded him. 20 And the rest of the sons of Levi: Of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah. 21 Concerning Rehabiah, of the sons of Rehabiah, the first was Isshiah. 22 Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath. 23 And the sons of Hebron: Jeriah, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth. 24 Of the sons of Uzziel, Michah. These were the sons of the Levites according to the house of their fathers. 31 And they also cast lots along with their brothers, the sons of Aaron, before David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, the head of the fathers, as well as his younger brother.

Isaiah 5:1-7

1 Now I will sing to my Beloved a song of my Beloved concerning His vineyard. My Beloved has a vineyard in a very fruitful hill. 2 And He fenced it, and gathered out the stones of it, and planted it with choice vines, and built a tower in its midst, and hewed out a wine vat in it; and He looked for it to produce grapes. And it produced wild grapes. 3 And now, O people of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, please judge between Me and My vineyard. 4 What more could have been done to my vineyard that I have not done in it? Who knows? I looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded rotten grapes.

Isaiah 5:4

4 What more could have been done to my vineyard that I have not done in it? Who knows? And I will command the clouds that they rain no rain on it. 7 For the vineyard of Jehovah of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah His pleasant plant; and He looked for justice, but behold bloody iniquity; for righteousness, but behold a cry!

9 Stand still and wonder! Blind your eyes and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. 10 For Jehovah has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes; He has covered the prophets and your heads, the seers. 11 And the vision of all has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which they give to one who knows books saying, Please read this; and he says, I cannot, for it is sealed. 12 And the book is delivered to him who does not know books, saying, Please read this; and he says, I do not know books.

6 if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor walk after other gods to your hurt; 7 then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, forever and ever. 8 Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot do any good. 9 Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know; 10 and then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?

Jeremiah 25:3-7

3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even to this day, that is the twenty-third year, the Word of Jehovah has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking. But you have not listened. 4 And Jehovah has sent to you all His servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but you have not listened nor bowed down your ear to hear. 5 They said, Turn again now, each one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that Jehovah has given to you and to your fathers forever and ever. 6 And do not go after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no harm. 7 Yet you have not listened to Me, says Jehovah, so that you might provoke Me with the works of your hands, for harm to you.

Jeremiah 26:2-6

2 So says Jehovah: Stand in the court of Jehovah's house and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in Jehovah's house, all the Words that I command you to speak to them; do not keep back a word. 3 It may be that they will listen, and each man turn from his evil way, that I may repent of the evil which I plan to do to them because of the evil of their doings. 4 And you shall say to them, So says Jehovah: If you will not listen to Me, to walk in My Law which I have set before you, 5 to listen to the words of My servants the prophets whom I am sending to you (both rising up early and sending them, but you have not listened); 6 then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

20 And there was also a man who prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah. 21 And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the rulers, heard his words, the king tried to put him to death. But when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled and went into Egypt. 22 And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt; Elnathan the son of Achbor, and men with him into Egypt. 23 And they brought Urijah out of Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword and threw his dead body into the graves of the common people. 24 But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.

Jeremiah 29:26-27

26 Jehovah has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, to be officers in the house of Jehovah, over every madman who prophesies, that you should put him into the stocks and into the collar. 27 Now therefore why have you not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, who prophesies to you?

15 In those days, and at that time, I will cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up to David. Jeremiah 38:4-6

4 And the rulers said to the king, Please let this man be put to death. For in this way he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them. For this man does not seek the good of this people, but the hurt. 5 Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand. For the king cannot do a thing against you. 6 And they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, which was in the court of the prison. And they let Jeremiah down with ropes. And there was no water in the pit, only mud. So Jeremiah sank into the mud.

For your goodness is like a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goes away. 5 So I have cut them down by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth. And your judgments were as the light that goes forth. 6 For I desired mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

And the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small and the shekel great, and perverting the balances by deceit; 6 that we may buy the poor for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals; and sell the chaff of the wheat?

But they did not hear nor listen to Me, says Jehovah. 5 Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever? 6 But My Words and My statutes which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? And they returned and said, As Jehovah of Hosts planned to do to us, according to our ways and according to our doings, so He has done with us.

And great wrath came from Jehovah of Hosts. 13 And it will be, as He called, and they did not listen, so they called, and I did not listen, says Jehovah of Hosts.

You have corrupted the covenant of Levi, says Jehovah of Hosts. 9 Therefore I have also made you despised and low before all the people, just as you have not kept My ways but are lifting up faces in the law.

2 saying, Where is He who is born king of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him. 3 But when Herod the king heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. 5 And they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judea. For so it is written by the prophet, 6 "And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the governors of Judah. For out of you shall come a Governor who shall rule My people Israel." 7 Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, inquired of them exactly what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child. And when you have found him, bring me word again so that I may come and worship him also. 9 When they had heard the king, they departed. And lo, the star which they saw in the east went before them until it came and stood over where the child was. 10 And seeing the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And coming into the house, they saw the child with Mary His mother. And they fell down and worshiped Him. And opening their treasures, they presented gifts to Him, gold and frankincense and myrrh. 12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. 13 And when they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise and take the young child and His mother and flee into Egypt. And be there until I bring you word, for Herod is about to seek the child to destroy Him. 14 And he arose and took the young child and his mother by night and departed into Egypt. 15 And he was there until the death of Herod; so that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the LORD through the prophet, "Out of Egypt I have called My Son." 16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was greatly enraged. And he sent and killed all the boys in Bethlehem, and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had carefully inquired of the wise men.

7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say to the crowds concerning John, What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind? 8 But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, they who wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. 9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and one more excellent than a prophet.

Matthew 11:9

9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and one more excellent than a prophet. 10 For this is the one of whom it is written, "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall prepare Your way before You." 11 Truly I say to you, Among those who have been born of women there has not risen a greater one than John the Baptist. But the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he. 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of Heaven is taken by violence, and the violent take it by force. 13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. 14 And if you will receive it, this is Elijah who is to come. 15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear. 16 But to what shall I compare to this generation? It is like little children sitting in the markets and calling to their playmates, 17 saying, We played the flute to you, and you did not dance! We mourned to you, but you did not wail! 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon. 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man who is a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax-collectors and sinners. But wisdom was justified by her children.

26 But if we shall say From men, we fear the people; for all consider John as a prophet.

Matthew 21:26

26 But if we shall say From men, we fear the people; for all consider John as a prophet. 27 And they answered Jesus and said, We cannot tell. And He said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

Matthew 21:27-32

27 And they answered Jesus and said, We cannot tell. And He said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

Matthew 21:27

27 And they answered Jesus and said, We cannot tell. And He said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things. 28 But what do you think? A man had two sons; and he came to the first and said, Son, go work in my vineyard today. 29 He answered and said, I will not. But afterwards he repented and went. 30 And he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir; and did not go. 31 Which of the two did the will of his father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you that the tax-collectors and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. 32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him. And when you had seen it, you did not repent afterwards so that you might believe him. 33 Hear another parable. There was a certain housemaster who planted a vineyard and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and rented it to vinedressers, and went into a far country. 34 And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers to receive its fruits.

Matthew 21:34-36

34 And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers to receive its fruits.

Matthew 21:34

34 And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers to receive its fruits. 35 And the vinedressers took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

Matthew 21:35-36

35 And the vinedressers took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did the same to them.

Matthew 21:36-36

36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did the same to them. 37 But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, They will respect my son.

Matthew 21:37-40

37 But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, They will respect my son. 38 But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and get hold of his inheritance.

Matthew 21:38-40

38 But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and get hold of his inheritance. 39 And taking him, they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.

Matthew 21:39-40

39 And taking him, they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?

Matthew 21:40-40

40 Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers? 41 They said to Him, Bad men! He will miserably destroy them and will rent out his vineyard to other vinedressers who will give him the fruits in their seasons.

Matthew 21:41

41 They said to Him, Bad men! He will miserably destroy them and will rent out his vineyard to other vinedressers who will give him the fruits in their seasons. 42 Jesus said to them, Did you never read in the Scriptures, "The stone which the builders rejected, this One has become the head of the corner; this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?"

Matthew 21:42

42 Jesus said to them, Did you never read in the Scriptures, "The stone which the builders rejected, this One has become the head of the corner; this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?" 43 Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing out its fruits. 44 And he who falls on this Stone shall be broken, but on whomever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Matthew 21:44

44 And he who falls on this Stone shall be broken, but on whomever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they knew that He spoke of them. 46 But seeking to lay hands on Him, they feared the crowd, because they held Him for a prophet.

Matthew 21:46-46

46 But seeking to lay hands on Him, they feared the crowd, because they held Him for a prophet.

Matthew 22:3-33

3 And he sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they would not come. 4 Again he sent out other servants, saying, Tell those who are invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage. 5 But not caring, they went their ways, one to his field, another to his trading. 6 And the rest took his servants and treated them spitefully, and killed them. 7 But when the king heard, he was angry. And he sent out his armies and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

Matthew 22:7-33

7 But when the king heard, he was angry. And he sent out his armies and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. 8 Then he said to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they who were invited were not worthy. 9 Therefore go into the exits of the highways, and as many as you shall find, invite them to the marriage. 10 So the servants went out into the highways and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. And the wedding was filled with reclining guests. 11 And the king coming in to look over the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. 12 And he said to him, Friend, how did you come in here without having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

Matthew 22:12-33

12 And he said to him, Friend, how did you come in here without having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few chosen. 15 Then the Pharisees left and took counsel that they might entangle Him in words.

Matthew 22:15-33

15 Then the Pharisees left and took counsel that they might entangle Him in words. 16 And they sent their disciples out to Him along with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that you are true, and that you teach the way of God in truth. Nor do you care for anyone, for you do not regard the person of men.

Matthew 22:16

16 And they sent their disciples out to Him along with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that you are true, and that you teach the way of God in truth. Nor do you care for anyone, for you do not regard the person of men.

Matthew 22:16-33

16 And they sent their disciples out to Him along with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that you are true, and that you teach the way of God in truth. Nor do you care for anyone, for you do not regard the person of men. 17 Therefore tell us; what do you think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?

Matthew 22:17-21

17 Therefore tell us; what do you think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?

Matthew 22:17-33

17 Therefore tell us; what do you think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not? 18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why do you tempt Me, hypocrites?

Matthew 22:18-21

18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why do you tempt Me, hypocrites?

Matthew 22:18

18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why do you tempt Me, hypocrites?

Matthew 22:18-33

18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why do you tempt Me, hypocrites? 19 Show Me the tribute money. And they brought a denarius to Him.

Matthew 22:19-21

19 Show Me the tribute money. And they brought a denarius to Him.

Matthew 22:19-33

19 Show Me the tribute money. And they brought a denarius to Him. 20 And He said to them, Whose image and inscription is this?

Matthew 22:20-21

20 And He said to them, Whose image and inscription is this?

Matthew 22:20-33

20 And He said to them, Whose image and inscription is this? 21 They said to Him, Caesar's. Then He said to them, Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's.

Matthew 22:21-21

21 They said to Him, Caesar's. Then He said to them, Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's.

Matthew 22:21

21 They said to Him, Caesar's. Then He said to them, Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's.

Matthew 22:21-33

21 They said to Him, Caesar's. Then He said to them, Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's. 22 When they heard these words, they marveled, and they left Him and went away.

Matthew 22:22

22 When they heard these words, they marveled, and they left Him and went away.

Matthew 22:22-33

22 When they heard these words, they marveled, and they left Him and went away. 23 On that day the Sadducees came to Him, who say that there is no resurrection. And they asked Him, 24 saying, Master, Moses said, If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed to his brother.

Matthew 22:24-28

24 saying, Master, Moses said, If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed to his brother. 25 Now there were with us seven brothers. And the first, when he had married a wife, died. And, having no issue, he left his wife to his brother.

Matthew 22:25-28

25 Now there were with us seven brothers. And the first, when he had married a wife, died. And, having no issue, he left his wife to his brother. 26 The second also did likewise, and the third, to the seventh.

Matthew 22:26-28

26 The second also did likewise, and the third, to the seventh. 27 And last of all the woman also died.

Matthew 22:27-28

27 And last of all the woman also died. 28 Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife shall she be, of the seven? For they all had her.

Matthew 22:28-28

28 Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife shall she be, of the seven? For they all had her. 29 Jesus answered and said to them, You err, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.

Matthew 22:29

29 Jesus answered and said to them, You err, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in Heaven.

Matthew 22:30

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in Heaven. 31 But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 "I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?" God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. 33 And when the crowd heard this, they were astonished at His doctrine. 34 But hearing that He had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees were gathered together.

Matthew 22:34-40

34 But hearing that He had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees were gathered together. 35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked, tempting Him and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the Law? 37 Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. 41 While the Pharisees were gathered, Jesus asked them, 42 saying, What do you think of Christ? Whose son is he? They say to Him, David's. 43 He said to them, How then does David by the Spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 "the LORD said to my Lord, Sit on My right until I make Your enemies Your footstool for Your feet?" 45 If David then calls Him Lord, how is He his son? 46 And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day to question Him any more.

Matthew 23:1-2

1 Then Jesus spoke to the crowd and to His disciples, 2 saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.

Matthew 23:5-7

5 But they do all their works in order to be seen of men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. 6 And they love the first couch at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 and greetings in the market-places, and to be called, Rabbi! Rabbi! by men.

Matthew 23:13

13 But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven against men. For you neither go in, nor do you allow those entering to go in.

Matthew 23:26-28

26 Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of them may be clean also. 27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which indeed appear beautiful outside, but inside they are full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. 28 Even so you also appear righteous to men outwardly, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Matthew 23:30-37

30 and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. 31 Therefore you are witnesses to yourselves, that you are the sons of those who killed the prophets; 32 and you fill up the measure of your fathers. 33 Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell? 34 Therefore, behold, I send prophets and wise men and scribes to you. And you will kill and crucify some of them. And some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city; 35 so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Berachiah, whom you killed between the temple and the altar. 36 Truly I say to you, All these things shall come on this generation. 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to her, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!

Matthew 25:14

14 For it is as if a man going abroad called his own servants and gave them his goods.

Matthew 26:3-4

3 Then the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, assembled together to the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas. 4 And they consulted so that they might take Jesus by guile and kill Him. 5 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

Matthew 26:49-50

49 And coming up to Jesus immediately, he said, Hail, Master! And he kissed Him. 50 And Jesus said to him, Friend, why are you here? Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him.

Matthew 26:55

55 In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, Have you come out in order to take Me with swords and clubs, as against a thief? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not lay hands on Me.

Matthew 27:2

2 And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

Matthew 27:21-25

21 The governor answered and said to them, Which of the two do you desire that I release to you? They said, Barabbas. 22 Pilate said to them, What then shall I do with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all said to him, Let Him be crucified. 23 And the governor said, Why? What evil has He done? But they cried out the more, saying, let Him be crucified! 24 But when Pilate saw that it gained nothing, but rather that a tumult was made, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person. You see to it. 25 Then all the people answered and said, Let His blood be on us and on our children.

Mark 3:2

2 And they watched Him to see if He would heal him on the sabbath day, so that they might accuse Him.

Mark 3:5

5 And looking around on them with anger, being grieved because of the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, Stretch out your hand! And he stretched it out. And his hand was restored whole, like the other.

Mark 8:15

15 And He charged them, saying, Take heed! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the leaven of Herod.

Mark 8:34

34 And calling near the crowd with His disciples, He said to them, Whoever will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.

Mark 10:23

23 And Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, How hardly those having riches will enter into the kingdom of God!

Mark 11:27-33

27 And they came again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to Him 28 and said to Him, By what authority do you do these things? And who gave you this authority to do these things? 29 And Jesus answered and said to them, I will also ask of you one thing, and answer Me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. 30 The baptism of John, was it from Heaven, or from men? Answer Me. 31 And they reasoned within themselves, saying, If we shall say, From Heaven, he will say, Why then did you not believe him? 32 But if we shall say, From men, they feared the people, for all held John to be a prophet indeed. 33 And they answered and said to Jesus, We cannot tell. And answering Jesus said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

Mark 11:33

33 And they answered and said to Jesus, We cannot tell. And answering Jesus said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

Mark 12:1-12

1 And He began to speak to them by parables. A man planted a vineyard, and set a fence about it, and dug a wine-vat, and built a tower, and he let it out to vinedressers, and went away. 2 And at the season he sent a servant to the vinedressers, so that he might receive from the vinedressers the fruit of the vineyard.

Mark 12:2-5

2 And at the season he sent a servant to the vinedressers, so that he might receive from the vinedressers the fruit of the vineyard. 3 And taking him, they beat him and sent him away empty.

Mark 12:3-5

3 And taking him, they beat him and sent him away empty. 4 And again he sent to them another servant. And stoning that one, they struck him in the head, and sent him away, insulting him.

Mark 12:4-5

4 And again he sent to them another servant. And stoning that one, they struck him in the head, and sent him away, insulting him. 5 And again he sent another. And they killed him, and many others, beating some and killing some.

Mark 12:5-5

5 And again he sent another. And they killed him, and many others, beating some and killing some. 6 Therefore, still having one son, his own beloved, he also sent him to them last of all, saying, They will respect my son.

Mark 12:6-9

6 Therefore, still having one son, his own beloved, he also sent him to them last of all, saying, They will respect my son. 7 But those vinedressers said among themselves, This is the heir! Come, let us kill him and the inheritance shall be ours.

Mark 12:7-9

7 But those vinedressers said among themselves, This is the heir! Come, let us kill him and the inheritance shall be ours. 8 And they took him and killed him and cast him out of the vineyard.

Mark 12:8-9

8 And they took him and killed him and cast him out of the vineyard. 9 Therefore what will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the vinedressers and will give the vineyard to others.

Mark 12:9-9

9 Therefore what will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the vinedressers and will give the vineyard to others. 10 And have you not read this scripture "The Stone which the builders rejected has become the Head of the corner:

Mark 12:10

10 And have you not read this scripture "The Stone which the builders rejected has become the Head of the corner: 11 this was from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes"? 12 And they sought to seize him, but feared the crowd. For they knew that He spoke the parable against them. And leaving Him, they went away.

Mark 12:12-12

12 And they sought to seize him, but feared the crowd. For they knew that He spoke the parable against them. And leaving Him, they went away. 13 And they sent certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to Him, to catch Him in His words. 14 And coming, they said to Him, Teacher, we know that you are true and you care about no one. For you do not look to the face of men, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

Mark 12:14

14 And coming, they said to Him, Teacher, we know that you are true and you care about no one. For you do not look to the face of men, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? 15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But knowing their hypocrisy, He said to them, Why do you tempt Me? Bring me a denarius so that I may see. 16 And they brought it. And He said to them, Whose image and inscription is this? And they said to Him, Caesar's. 17 And answering Jesus said to them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at Him.

Mark 12:17

17 And answering Jesus said to them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at Him. 18 Then the Sadducees came to Him, who say there is no resurrection. And they asked Him, saying, 19 Teacher, Moses wrote to us, If a man's brother die and leaves his wife, and leaves no children, his brother should take his wife and raise up seed to his brother.

Mark 12:19-23

19 Teacher, Moses wrote to us, If a man's brother die and leaves his wife, and leaves no children, his brother should take his wife and raise up seed to his brother. 20 And there were seven brothers. And the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.

Mark 12:20-23

20 And there were seven brothers. And the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. 21 And the second took her, and died; neither did he leave any seed. And the third likewise.

Mark 12:21-23

21 And the second took her, and died; neither did he leave any seed. And the third likewise. 22 And the seven had her, and left no seed. Last of all the woman also died.

Mark 12:22-23

22 And the seven had her, and left no seed. Last of all the woman also died. 23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.

Mark 12:23-23

23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as a wife. 24 And answering Jesus said to them, Do you not err because of this, not knowing Scriptures, nor the power of God?

Mark 12:24

24 And answering Jesus said to them, Do you not err because of this, not knowing Scriptures, nor the power of God? 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but they are as the angels in Heaven.

Mark 12:25

25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but they are as the angels in Heaven. 26 And as regards the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses how God spoke to him in the Bush, saying, "I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?" 27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. Therefore you greatly err. 28 And coming up one of the scribes heard them reasoning, knowing that He had answered them well, he asked Him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord; 30 and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength." This is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these. 32 And the scribe said to Him, Right, Teacher, according to truth You have spoken, that God is one, and there is no other besides Him. 33 And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love the neighbor as himself, is more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34 And seeing that he had answered intelligently, Jesus said to him, You are not far from the kingdom of God. And no one dared to question Him any more.

Mark 12:34

34 And seeing that he had answered intelligently, Jesus said to him, You are not far from the kingdom of God. And no one dared to question Him any more. 35 And answering, teaching in the temple, Jesus said, How do the scribes say that Christ is the Son of David? 36 For David himself said by the Holy Spirit: "The LORD said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand until I place Your enemies as Your footstool." 37 David therefore himself calls Him Lord, and why then is He his son? And the great crowd heard Him gladly. 38 And He said to them in His teaching, Beware of the scribes, who love to walk about in robes, and love greetings in the markets, 39 and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost places at feasts 40 who devour widows' houses, and as a pretense make long prayers. These shall receive greater condemnation.

Luke 1:31-35

31 And behold! You shall conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call His name JESUS. 32 He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest. And the Lord God shall give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then Mary said to the angel, How shall this be, since I do not know a man? 35 And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit shall come on you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you. Therefore also that Holy One which will be born of you shall be called Son of God.

Luke 1:76

76 And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest, for you shall go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,

Luke 2:1

1 And it happened in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

Luke 2:11

11 For to you is born today, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Luke 3:1

1 And in the fifteenth year of the government of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and the Trachonitus country, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene--

Luke 5:22

22 But knowing their thoughts, answering, Jesus said to them, Why do you reason in your hearts?

Luke 6:8

8 But He knew their thoughts and said to the man who had the withered hand, Rise up and stand in the middle. And he arose and stood.

Luke 7:26-29

26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and much more than a prophet. 27 This is he of whom it is written, "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall prepare Your way before You." 28 For I say to you, Among those who are born of woman there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist. But he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

Luke 7:28-29

28 For I say to you, Among those who are born of woman there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist. But he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. 29 And all the people and the tax-collectors who heard Him justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

Luke 7:29-29

29 And all the people and the tax-collectors who heard Him justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. 30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, not being baptized by him. 31 And the Lord said, To what then shall I compare the men of this generation? And to what are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in a market and calling to one another, and saying, We have played the flute to you, and you have not danced; we have mourned to you, and you did not weep. 33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, He has a demon. 34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold a gluttonous man and a winebibber, a friend of tax-collectors and sinners! 35 But wisdom has been justified by all her children.

Luke 8:1

1 And it happened afterwards, He traveled in every city and village, proclaiming and announcing the gospel of the kingdom of God. And the Twelve were with Him,

Luke 9:35

35 And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is My Son, the Beloved, hear Him.

Luke 10:12-14

12 But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city. 13 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented a long while ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the Judgment than for you.

And they set Jesus on it. 36 And as He went, they spread their clothes in the way. 37 And when He had come near, even now at the descent of the Mount of Olives, all the multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen, 38 saying, Blessed is the King coming in the name of the Lord! Peace in Heaven and glory in the highest! 39 And some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to Him, Teacher, rebuke your disciples. 40 And He answered and said to them, I tell you that if these should be silent, the stones would cry out. 41 And as He drew near, He beheld the city and wept over it,

John 1:6

6 There was a man sent from God; his name was John.

John 1:15-18

15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, This was He of whom I spoke: He who comes after me has been before me, for He was preceding me. 16 And out of His fullness we all have received, and grace for grace. 17 For the Law came through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time; the Only-begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. 19 And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who are you? 20 And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed, I am not the Christ. 21 And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he says, I am not. Are you that prophet? And he answered, No. 22 Then they said to him, Who are you so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say of yourself? 23 He said, I am "the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord," as the prophet Isaiah said. 24 And they who were sent were from the Pharisees. 25 And they asked him and said, Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor that Prophet? 26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water, but One stands among you whom you do not know. 27 He it is who, coming after me, who has been before me; of whom I am not worthy to loosen the thong of His sandal. 28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

John 1:30

30 This is He of whom I said, After me comes a Man who has been before me, for He preceded me.

34 And I saw and bore record that this is the Son of God.

18 Then the Jews answered and said to Him, What sign do you show us, since you do these things?

John 3:2

2 He came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no man can do these miracles which you do unless God is with him.

John 3:16-17

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.

John 3:19-20

19 And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

John 3:26

26 And they came to John and said to him, Rabbi, He who was with you beyond Jordan, to whom you bore witness, behold, He baptizes, and all come to Him!

John 3:35-36

35 The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand. 36 He who believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him.

John 3:36-36

36 He who believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him.

John 5:22-27

22 For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 so that all should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears My Word and believes on Him who sent Me has everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death to life. 25 Truly, truly, I say to you, The hour is coming and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they who hear shall live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has given to the Son to have life within Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

John 5:29

29 and shall come forth, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have practiced evil to the resurrection of condemnation.

John 5:33-35

33 You sent to John, and he bore witness to the truth. 34 But I do not receive testimony from man, but these things I say so that you might be saved. 35 He was a burning and shining light, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.

John 6:57

57 As the living Father has sent Me, and I live through the Father, so he who partakes of Me, even he shall live by Me.

42 Has the Scripture not said that Christ comes from the seed of David and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

John 11:47-50

47 Then the chief priests and Pharisees gathered a sanhedrin, and said, What can we do? For this man does many miracles. 48 If we let him alone this way, all will believe on him. And the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation. 49 And one of them, Caiaphas, being the high priest of that year, said to them, You do not know anything at all, 50 nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation perish.

John 14:19

19 Yet a little while and the world does not see Me any more. But you see Me. Because I live, you shall live also.

John 15:1-8

1 I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away. And every one that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now you are clean through the Word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered. And they gather and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you. 8 In this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, so you shall be My disciples.

John 15:16

16 You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you.

25 But that the Word might be fulfilled that is written in their Law, "They hated Me without a cause."

John 18:20

20 Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in the synagogue and in the temple, where the Jews always resort, and I have said nothing in secret.

John 18:28-32

28 Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas into the praetorium. And it was early. And they did not go into the praetorium, that they should not be defiled, and that they might eat the Passover. 29 Then Pilate went out to them and said, What charge do you bring against this man? 30 They answered and said to him, If he were not an evildoer, then we would not have delivered him up to you. 31 Then Pilate said to them, You take him and judge him according to your Law. Then the Jews said to him, It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death 32 (that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which He spoke signifying what death He was about to die).

Acts 4:7-10

7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name have you done this? 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people and elders of Israel, 9 if we are examined today on a good work for an infirm man, by what this one has been healed, 10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in this name does this man stand before you whole. 11 This is the Stone which you builders have counted worthless, and He has become the Head of the Corner.

Acts 4:19-20

19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right before God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

And as he drew near to see, the voice of the Lord came to him: 32 saying, "I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." But Moses trembled and dared not look.

Acts 7:35-39

35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made you a ruler and a judge? God has sent this one to be a ruler and a redeemer by the hand of the Angel who appeared to him in the Bush. 36 He brought them out after he had worked wonders and miracles in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the wilderness forty years. 37 This is that Moses who said to the sons of Israel, "The Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet to you from your brothers, One like me; you shall hear Him." 38 This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the Angel who spoke to him in Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, who received the living words to give to us, 39 to whom our fathers would not be obedient, but thrust him away and turned back again to Egypt in their hearts,

Acts 7:51

51 O stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so you do. 52 Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you have now been the betrayers and murderers;

Acts 10:34-35

34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Truly I see that God is no respecter of persons; 35 but in every nation he who fears Him and works righteousness is accepted with Him.

Acts 23:6-8

6 But when Paul saw that the one part were Sadducees and the other part Pharisees, he cried out in the sanhedrin, Men! Brothers! I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee! I am being judged because of the hope and resurrection of the dead. 7 And when he had said this, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees; and the multitude was divided. 8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit; but the Pharisees confess both. 9 And there arose a great cry. And the scribes who were on the Pharisees' side arose and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

Acts 25:8-12

8 Defending himself, Paul said, Neither against the Law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I offended in anything. 9 But Festus, wanting to please the Jews, answered Paul and said, Will you go up to Jerusalem and be judged there before me about these things? 10 But Paul said, I stand at Caesar's judgment seat, where I ought to be judged. I have done no wrong to the Jews, as you very well know. 11 For if I am an offender or have committed anything worthy of death, I do not refuse to die. But if there is nothing of which these accuse me, no one can deliver me to them. I appeal to Caesar. 12 Then conferring with the sanhedrin, Festus answered, You have appealed to Caesar? To Caesar you shall go.

Acts 26:32

32 And Agrippa said to Festus, This man might have been set at liberty if he had not appealed to Caesar.

19 But we know that whatever things the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law; so that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may be under judgment before God,

Romans 6:10-11

10 For in that He died, He died to sin once; but in that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise count yourselves also to be truly dead to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:22-23

22 But now, being made free from sin, and having become slaves to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 7:4

4 So, my brothers, you also have become dead to the law by the body of Christ so that you should be married to Another, even to Him raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit to God.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh;

Romans 8:17

17 And if we are children, then we are heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; so that if we suffer with Him, we may also be glorified together.

Romans 8:17-23

17 And if we are children, then we are heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; so that if we suffer with Him, we may also be glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the coming glory to be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was not willingly subjected to vanity, but because of Him who subjected it on hope 21 that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 And we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. 23 And not only so, but ourselves also, who have the firstfruit of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, awaiting adoption, the redemption of our body.

6 For because of this you also pay taxes. For they are God's servants, always giving attention to this very thing. 7 Therefore give to all their dues; to the one due tax, the tax; tribute to whom tribute is due, fear to whom fear is due, and honor to whom honor is due.

Romans 14:7-9

7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. 8 For both if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore both if we live, and if we die, we are the Lord's. 9 For this Christ both died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and living.

1 Corinthians 3:6-9

6 I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he who plants anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 8 So he planting, and he watering, are one, and each one shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For of God we are fellow-workers, a field of God, and you are a building of God.

1 Corinthians 3:19

19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God; for it is written, "He takes the wise in their own craftiness."

1 Corinthians 7:2-16

2 But, because of the fornications, let each have his own wife, and let each have her own husband. 3 Let the husband give to the wife proper kindness, and likewise the wife also to the husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband. And likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife. 5 Do not deprive one another, unless it is with consent for a time, so that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. And come together again so that Satan does not tempt you for your incontinence. 6 But I speak this according to permission, not according to commandment. 7 For I would that all men were even as I myself am. But each has his proper gift from God, one according to this manner and another according to that. 8 I say therefore to the unmarried and the widows, It is good for them if they remain even as I. 9 But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn. 10 And to the married I command (not I, but the Lord), a woman not to be separated from her husband. 11 But if she is indeed separated, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to leave his wife. 12 But to the rest I speak, not the Lord, If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is pleased to dwell with him, do not let him put her away. 13 And the woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is pleased to dwell with her, do not let her leave him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; else your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. 15 But if the unbelieving one separates, let him be separated. A brother or a sister is not in bondage in such cases, but God has called us in peace. 16 For what do you know, O wife, whether you shall save your husband? Or what do you know, O man, whether you shall save your wife?

1 Corinthians 10:9

9 Nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted Him and were destroyed by serpents.

1 Corinthians 10:31

1 Corinthians 15:42

42 So also the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption;

1 Corinthians 15:49

49 And according as we bore the image of the earthy man, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.

1 Corinthians 15:52-54

52 in a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet. For a trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and when this mortal shall put on immortality, then will take place the word that is written, "Death is swallowed up in victory.

1 Behold what manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and His love is perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him and he in God.

And the number of them was myriads and myriads, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a great voice, Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing. 13 And I heard every creature which is in the Heaven and on the earth, and under the earth, and those that are in the sea, and all who are in them, saying, Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever. 14 And the four living creatures said, Amen. And he cried with a great voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid-heaven, Come and gather together to the supper of the great God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of commanders, and the flesh of strong ones, and the flesh of horses, and those sitting on them, and the flesh of all, both free and slave, both small and great. 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth and their armies, being gathered to make war against Him who sat on the horse, and against His army. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet doing signs before it, (by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast), and those who had worshiped his image. And all the birds were filled from their flesh.
