⁷ But he must also have a good report from those on the outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the Devil.

²⁴ No, my sons, for it is no good report that I hear. You make Jehovah's people to transgress.

¹¹ And He said to them, To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God. But to those outside, all these things are given in parables

³ Therefore, brothers, look out among you seven men being witnessed to, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this duty.

²² And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man and one who fears God, and one of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear words from you.

¹² And one Ananias, a devout man according to the Law, testified to by all the Jews who lived there,

¹² For what is it to me to also judge those who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?

³² Give no offense, either to the Jews, or to the Greeks or to the church of God;

³ We are in nothing giving cause of stumbling, in no way, so that the ministry may not be blamed,

²¹ providing for honest things, not only before the Lord, but also before men.

⁵ Walk in wisdom toward those on the outside, redeeming the time.

¹² so that you may walk becomingly toward those outside, and that you may lack nothing.

²² Abstain from every appearance of evil.

¹⁴ Therefore I want the younger ones to marry, bear children, guide the house, giving no occasion to the adversary because of reproach.

²⁴ Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment. And some they also follow after. ²⁵ Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand, and those who are otherwise cannot be hidden.

⁹ But they who will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts which plunge men into destruction and perdition.

²⁶ and that they awake out of the snare of the Devil, having been taken captive by him, so as to do the will of that one.

⁵ to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, subject to their own husbands, that the Word of God may not be blasphemed.

⁸ in sound speech that cannot be condemned, that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

¹⁴ If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you. Truly according to them, He is blasphemed, but according to you He is glorified. ¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or a meddler in the affairs of others. ¹⁶ But if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God because of this.

¹² Demetrius has good report by all, and by the truth itself. And we also bear witness, and you know that our witness is true.
