¹ First of all, then, I exhort that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

²³ And Abraham drew near and said, Will You also destroy the righteous with the wicked? ²⁴ Perhaps there are fifty righteous within the city. Will You also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are in it? ²⁵ Far be it from You to act in this manner, to kill the righteous with the wicked. And far be it from You, that the righteous should be as the wicked. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? ²⁶ And Jehovah said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. ²⁷ And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak to Jehovah, who am but dust and ashes. ²⁸ Perhaps there will be five lacking from the fifty righteous. Will You destroy all the city for lack of five? And He said, If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it. ²⁹ And he spoke to Him yet again, and said, Perhaps there shall be forty found there. And He said, I will not do it for forty's sake. ³⁰ And he said, Oh let not Jehovah be angry, and I will speak. Perhaps there shall be thirty found there. And He said, I will not do it if I find thirty there. ³¹ And he said, Lo now, I have taken upon me to speak to Jehovah. Perhaps there shall be twenty found there. And He said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake. ³² And he said, Oh do not let Jehovah be angry, and I will speak only once more. Perhaps ten shall be found there. And He said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

⁴¹ And concerning a stranger who is not of Your people Israel, but who comes out of a far country for Your name's sake; ⁴² for they shall hear of Your great name and of Your strong hand and of Your stretched-out arm; and if he shall come and pray toward this house, ⁴³ hear in Heaven Your dwelling-place, and do according to all that the stranger calls to You for, so that all the peoples of the earth may know Your name, to fear You, as Your people Israel do, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by Your name.

¹ To the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song. May God be merciful to us, and bless us, and cause His face to shine on us. Selah. ² So that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. ³ Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples thank You. ⁴ O let the nations be glad and sing for joy; for You shall judge the peoples righteously and govern the nations on earth. Selah.

¹⁹ And blessed be His glorious name forever; and all the earth is filled with His glory! Amen and Amen.

⁹ Therefore pray in this way: Our Father, who is in Heaven, Hallowed be Your name. ¹⁰ Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

³⁰ Truly, then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now He strictly commands all men everywhere to repent,

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

¹⁷ But thanks be to our God that you were the slaves of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

³ For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures,

⁶ for us to call on Titus, that even as he began before, so he would also complete this grace to you also.

¹³ For this reason I desire that you faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

²⁰ always giving thanks for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

³ I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

¹² And may the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all, even as we also toward you,

³ We are bound to thank God always for you, my brothers, as it is right, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each one of you abounds toward one another;

⁴ who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

⁵ But she being really a widow, and having been left alone, has set her hope on God and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.

²⁴ But the servant of the Lord must not strive, but to be gentle to all, apt to teach, patient,

¹¹ For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

² to speak evil of no one, not being quarrelsome, but forbearing, showing all meekness to all men.

¹¹ And we desire that each one of you show the same eagerness to the full assurance of hope to the end,

¹⁶ Confess faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous one avails much.
