¹² Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long upon the land which Jehovah your God gives you.

⁴¹ As soon as the lad had gone, David rose from the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times. And they kissed one another, and wept with one another, until David exceeded.

²³ And Abigail saw David and hurried and dismounted from the ass, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground. ²⁴ And she fell at his feet and said, On me, my lord, on me let this iniquity be. And please let your handmaid speak in your ears, and hear the words of your handmaid.

⁷ Therefore give to all their dues; to the one due tax, the tax; tribute to whom tribute is due, fear to whom fear is due, and honor to whom honor is due.
