¹⁴ Therefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

¹⁹ not avenging yourselves, beloved, but giving place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord."

⁷ Nor should we be idolaters, even as some of them, as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play."

²⁰ But I say that the things which the nations sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God. And I do not desire that you should have fellowship with demons. ²¹ You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot be partakers of the Lord's table and of a table of demons.

¹⁷ Therefore come out from among them and be separated, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing. And I will receive you

¹ Then having these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilements of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

¹¹ Why? Because I do not love you? God knows.

¹⁵ And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls, even if loving you more and more, I am loved the less.

¹⁹ Again, do you think we are defending ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ, but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your building up.

¹ Therefore, my brothers, ones loved and longed for, my joy and crown, stand fast in this way in the Lord, beloved ones.

⁸ But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, will have their part in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

¹⁵ But outside are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and makes a lie.
