¹³ No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it.

²⁰ Behold now, this city is near to flee to, and it is a little one. Oh let me escape there (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. ²¹ And He said to him, See, I have accepted you concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city for which you have spoken.

¹⁷ And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.

⁹ Therefore, know that Jehovah your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations.

⁵ Your mercy, O Jehovah, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

³³ But I will not completely take My loving-kindness from him, and I will not be false in My faithfulness.

⁷ Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped.

³ For the rod of the wicked shall not rest on the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands to iniquity.

⁵ And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His heart.

¹ O Jehovah, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will praise Your name; for You have done a wonder; Counsels from afar; faithful faithfulness.

⁷ So says Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, His Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nation hates, the servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise, rulers also shall worship, because of Jehovah who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, and He shall choose You.

⁵ If you have run with footmen, and they wore you out, then how can you compete with horses? And if you feel secure in the land of peace, then how will you do in the swelling of the Jordan?

¹¹ For I know the purposes which I am purposing for you, says Jehovah; purposes of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

²³ They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

¹⁷ If it is so that our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, then He will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

²⁰ I will even betroth you to Me in faithfulness. And you shall know Jehovah.

²¹ for then shall be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world to this time; no, nor ever shall be. ²² And unless those days should be shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect's sake, those days shall be shortened. ²³ Then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ! Or, There! Do not believe it. ²⁴ For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders; so much so that, if it were possible, they would deceive even the elect.

⁴ and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

²⁶ And besides all this, there is a great chasm fixed between you and us; so that they desiring to pass from here to you cannot, nor can they pass over to us from there.

³¹ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired you, that he may sift you as wheat. ³² But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not. And when you are converted, strengthen your brothers.

⁴⁶ And He said to them, Why do you sleep? Rise and pray lest you enter into temptation.

²⁸ And I give to them eternal life, and they shall never ever perish, and not anyone shall pluck them out of My hand. ²⁹ My Father who gave them to me is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. ³⁰ I and the Father are one!

⁴⁴ And the rest went, some on boards and others on some of the things from the ship. And so it happened that all were saved on the land.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. ²⁹ For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers. ³⁰ But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, those He also justified. And whom He justified, these He also glorified. ³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? ³² Truly He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God who justifies. ³⁴ Who is he condemning? It is Christ who has died, but rather also who is raised, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written, "For Your sake we are killed all the day long. We are counted as sheep of slaughter." ³⁷ But in all these things we more than conquer through Him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁹ God is faithful, by whom you were called to the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. ¹⁰ who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver; in whom we trust that He will yet deliver us,

²³ Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as beside myself,) I am more! I have been in labors more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in prisons more, in deaths many times. ²⁴ Five times from the Jews I received forty stripes minus one. ²⁵ Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked. I have spent a night and a day in the deep. ²⁶ I have been in travels often; in dangers from waters; in dangers from robbers; in dangers from my race; in dangers from the heathen; in dangers in the city; in dangers in the wilderness; in dangers on the sea; in dangers among false brothers. ²⁷ I have been in hardship and toil; often in watchings; in hunger and thirst; often in fastings; in cold and nakedness; ²⁸ besides the things outside conspiring against me daily, the care of all the churches.

⁸ For this thing I besought the Lord three times, that it might depart from me. ⁹ And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may overshadow me. ¹⁰ Therefore I am pleased in weaknesses, in insults, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am powerful.

¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places. ¹³ Therefore take to yourselves the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

²⁴ Faithful is He who called you, who also will do it.

³ But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and guard you from the evil.

¹¹ For faithful is the Word, for if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. ¹² If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. ¹³ If we do not believe Him, yet He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

¹⁸ And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work and will preserve me to His heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁸ so that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us,

²³ Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering (for He is faithful who promised),

¹¹ By faith also Sarah herself received strength to conceive seed and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged Him who had promised to be faithful.

³⁵ Women received their dead raised to life again, and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. ³⁶ And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings; yes, more, of bonds and imprisonments. ³⁷ They were stoned, they were sawed in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented. ³⁸ The world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains and dens and caves of the earth.

⁴ You have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

¹⁰ My brothers, take the prophets who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering ill, and of patience. ¹¹ Behold, we count blessed those who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is full of pity and of tender mercy.

⁵ by the power of God, having been kept through faith to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time; ⁶ in which you greatly rejoice, yet a little while, if need be, grieving in manifold temptations; ⁷ so that the trial of your faith (being much more precious than that of gold that perishes, but being proven through fire) might be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

¹⁹ Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing, as to a faithful Creator.

⁸ Be sensible and vigilant, because your adversary the Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour; ⁹ whom firmly resist in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions in the world are being completed in your brotherhood.

⁹ The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unjust for a day of judgment, to be punished,

⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

¹⁰ Do not at all fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil will cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tried. And you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹⁰ Because you have kept the Word of My patience, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation which will come upon all the habitable world, to try those who dwell upon the earth.

¹¹ And I saw Heaven opened. And behold, a white horse! And He sitting on him was called Faithful and True. And in righteousness He judges and makes war.
