¹ Three days after, there was a marriage in Cana, of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

⁴⁶ While he discoursed to the people, his mother and brothers were without, desiring to speak with him.

²⁹ On the next day, John sees Jesus coming to him, and says, Behold the Lamb of God, that takes away the sin of the world.

³⁵ The next day, John, being with two of his disciples,

⁴⁶ Then Jesus returned to Cana, of Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And there was a certain officer of the court, whose son lay sick at Capernaum,

² Simon Peter and Thomas, that is, Didymus, Nathanael of Cana, in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples of Jesus, being together,

³⁰ because we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. ³¹ For this reason shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall adhere to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh. ³² This is a great mystery; but I speak concerning Christ and the congregation. ³³ Therefore, also, let every one of you in particular, so love his own wife as himself; and let the wife reverence her husband.

¹ But the Spirit expressly says, that in future times some will apostatize from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits, and to doctrines concerning demons; ² through the hypocrisy of liars, who are seared in their own conscience; ³ who forbid to marry, and command to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by the faithful, who thoroughly know the truth;-

⁴ Let marriage be honorable among all, and the bed unpolluted; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
