¹ AND it happened in those days that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, to take a census of all the people in his empire.

¹⁷ Tell us, therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay head-tax to Caesar, or not?

¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached throughout the world as a testimony to all the nations; then the end will come.

⁹ And truly I say to you, Wherever this my gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told as a memorial to her.

¹⁵ And he said to them, Go to all the world, and preach my gospel to the whole creation.

¹ IN the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, during the governorship of Pontius Pilate in Judaea, when Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanius tetrarch of Abilene,

²¹ But he appealed to be kept as a prisoner for a trial before CµÆsar. I accordingly commanded him to be kept in custody till I might send him to CµÆsar.

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith has been heard of throughout the world.
