⁶ What is born of flesh is flesh; and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

¹³ Those who are not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but born of God.

⁵ For when we were in the flesh, the wounds of sin, which were by the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruits to death.

¹⁸ Yet I know that it does not fully dominate me, (that is in my flesh) but as far as good is concerned, the choice is easy for me to make, but to do it, that is difficult.

²⁵ I thank God through our LORD Jesus Christ. Now therefore with my mind I am a servant of the law of God; but with my flesh I am a servant of the law of sin.

⁴ That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, for we do not walk after the things of the flesh, but after the Spirit. ⁵ For they who are after the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh; but they who are after the Spirit, do mind the things of the Spirit. ⁶ To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace; ⁷ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, because it cannot be. ⁸ So then, they who are in the flesh cannot please God. ⁹ But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit if the Spirit of God truly dwells within you. Now if any man does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.

¹³ For if you live after the flesh, you will die: but if you, through the Spirit, subdue the deeds of the body, you shall live.

¹⁷ But he who unites himself with our LORD becomes one with him in spirit.

⁴⁷ The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the LORD from heaven. ⁴⁸ As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. ⁴⁹ And as we have borne the image of the earthy we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. ⁵⁰ Now this I say, my brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.

¹⁷ Whoever from now on is a follower of Christ, is a new creation: old things have passed away;

¹⁶ This I say then: Lead a spiritual life, and you shall never commit the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh craves that which is harmful to the Spirit, and the Spirit opposes the things of the flesh: and the two are contrary to one another, so that you are unable to do whatever you please. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. ¹⁹ For the works of the flesh are well-known, which are these: adultery, impurity, and lasciviousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, stubbornness, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and all like things: those who practice these things, as I have told you before and I say to you now, they shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

²⁴ And those who belong to Christ have controlled their weaknesses and passions.

³ In those very deeds in which we were also corrupted from the very beginning through the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the wills of the flesh and of the mind: thereby we became completely the children of wrath, even as others.

¹¹ In whom also you are circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in putting off the sinful body by the circumcision of Christ:

⁹ Whoever is born of God does not commit sin because GodÆs seed is in him; and he cannot sin because he is born of God.
