¹⁰ And also Ruth of Moab, the wife of Mahlon, I have bought for myself for a wife, to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance. And the name of the dead shall not be cut off from among his brothers, and from the gate of his place. You are witnesses today.

¹⁸ And Jacob loved Rachel, and said, I will serve you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter. ¹⁹ And Laban said, It is better for me to give her to you than to give her to another man; live with me.

²⁷ Fulfill the week of this one and we will also give you this other one, for the service which you will serve with me, yet another seven years.

⁶ and it shall be, the first-born which she bears shall rise up for his dead brother's name, and his name shall not be wiped out of Israel.

⁹ And the Canaanites, and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear, and shall come around against us, and shall cut off our name out of the earth. And what shall You do for Your great name?

¹⁶ The face of Jehovah is against those who do evil, to cut off their memory from the earth.

¹⁵ let them be always before Jehovah, so that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth;

²² Whoever finds a wife finds good, and gets favor from Jehovah.

¹⁴ House and riches are the inheritance of fathers, but a prudent wife is from Jehovah.

¹⁰ Who can find an able woman? For her value is far above jewels. ¹¹ The heart of her husband trusts in her, so that he has no lack of gain.

² And I took faithful witnesses to record for me, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah. ³ And I drew near the prophetess. And she conceived, and bore a son. Then Jehovah said to me, Call his name, Hurry, plunder! Eagerly plunder!

¹⁹ And your seed would have been like the sand, and your offspring of your bowels like its grain; his name would not have been cut off nor destroyed from My presence.

² So I bought her for myself with fifteen pieces of silver, and for a homer of barley, and a half of barley.

¹⁴ Yet you say, On what cause ? Because Jehovah has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously; and she is your companion and your covenant wife.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up on its behalf,

⁴ Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge fornicators and adulterers.
